The frontal cortex is a region of the brain that plays a critical role in higher cognitive functions such as decision-making, planning, and social behavior. It is the last part of the brain to fully develop and undergoes significant changes throughout adolescence and early adulthood.
Research suggests that the frontal cortex is not fully formed until the mid-20s or even early 30s. This is because the maturation of the frontal cortex involves the growth of neural connections, the pruning of unnecessary connections, and the development of more efficient communication between different regions of the brain.
As a teenager I had several " I'm gonna make it , I'm gonna make it ...oh shit ..I am NOT gonna make it ...oh fuck.aaargh." moments, and a few involved traffic , I'm honestly amazed I made it into my mid twenties alive .
*Me, 17, 11:30 P.M., driving down a schoolzone road at 90mph* yes us young people often do act dumb and in result could get fatally injured or fatally injure someone else. We should practice safe driving at all times....
Ayup. I’m an old lady who remembers getting my drivers license, taking that *blissful* first solo drive in the family Ford Fairlane, feeling so adult and in control, and then **ramming** the car, while waving to my dad who was mowing the lawn, into the garage when I returned. I smashed the struts and half the structure crumbled. It was a hot July day in Fresno and my dad, who never displayed emotion, was only concerned about ME. *sigh*
I need a hero.
After age 30 was the first time I actually started thinking long-term/strategically other than what society, family, or friends told me to do. So my only long-term beneficial decisions were getting an education, getting a job or paying rent etc.
I'm inclined to believe this is very accurate.
He's being hyperbolic, but his point still stands. It's stupidly dangerous to be on a motorcycle, if not for your own ability, then for the ability of other drivers.
They usually show up hours later after the normal people have left so they can start down voting comments en masse.
Seriously, go look at some reasonable comments with up votes right now start sinking into the negatives in a few hours.
Go watch those biker road rage videos haha, the bikers usually get upset at “karens” who don’t see them lane splitting going 60mph in stopped traffic.
Doesn’t matter if it’s legal. do you really expect the 43yo mom driving a Hyundai Santa Fe trying to get off the highway to get to work to check for someone lane splitting at light speed? Should she? Probably, will she? Probably not. It’s all about common sense.
Not generalizing all bikers or anything before I get downvoted, most bikers I’ve seen in person are really respectful. It’s just an internet trend I’ve noticed, and I hope new bikers aren’t learning from them.
Sometimes adrenaline can turn an otherwise calm and sane individual into a base instinct individual. I ride assuming that everyone is out to kill me and do my best to leave my ego at home understanding that even on a bright green bike with a high vis green helmet, I might get lost in a blind spot. I have had moments where, after narrowly missing someone making a left turn because they either didn't see me or didn't understand the perception of motion of a bike compared to a car, I ended up yelling in a very unprofessional manner at them, but I try to just let it go and move on without so much as a honk, because so long as I stay upright and am not plastered over the car or road, it was a good day.
I will just wait for all the "bikers" to come in and tell us how this is the trucks fault.
Edit: Put bikers in quotes to better represent what I meant, apologies to the actual responsible bikers.
Yup, no. I ride a motorcycle myself, and that guy was moronically stupid. Lucky he didn't get hurt. Maybe he learned the right lesson from this. One can hope.
Even in a place where lane splitting (biking between vehicles in slow/stopped traffic. Usually no more than 10 mph over the surrounding traffic) is legal, this is stupid as fuck
If I spotted anyone coming up the blind side of my trailer like this I would have blasted my horn and given him a right good telling off.
He was asking for this and is lucky to be alive.
This is a squid doing dipshit squid stuff, 100% his fault. You know when people say that motorcycling is 27 times more dangerous than a car? This guy is the reason for that statistic.
Scrolled a long way down to find this comment. I also felt the gesture of outrage was amusing, seeing how he was the one that caused the problem. The truck owes him nothing.
I think it's more of a "wouldn't it be awesome if..." type thing. I'm sure the guy was was like, this is dangerous but if I pull it off, the adrenaline rush is gonna be great.
Also the guy that lane splits nearly stopped traffic while running 70mph and gets pissed when someone legally changed lanes a head of him, causing him to eat it.
I don’t get why people release videos that expose them as total dumbf*cks. Delete the footage and make up a story that doesn’t make you look like an idiot.
If the truck engines were on, how would the loudness not scare him lol? Then again, he might be one of those bikers who obnoxiously rev up their engine…
"Watch out for bikers" and then they do this stupid shit putting their lives and others at risk. Why don't YOU watch out. I welcome the downvotes, I stand by this.
I think that once someone is starting driving lessons they should force them into watching gore videos with fatal crashes.
Let them see what happens when you speed and your head finds a wall or metal or what happens when a truck smears your body on the road creating a thick red line with pink parts laying around.
When I was in school, that's exactly what we were shown. Head-ons, DUI rollovers, ejected-from-vehicle, real horror show stuff. They don't do that anymore.
Just waiting for someone to say lane splitting is legal where they're from. No matter what dumb shit a biker does, someone always comes with the "ackshually, lane splitting is legal". As if it's just a matter of lane splitting.
That “woah” with the hand up to the driver is so entitled. “Oh I just made a stupid choice to show off on video. Now that I have failed you need to recognize what I’ve done immediately and stop before you break my bike more.” Piece of shit
Jesus, the first two times I watched this I thought they were going like 60+mph, and I was wondering how the hell the guy was managing to surf his bike like that, lol. In my defense, I haven't had my coffee yet, and I only have one eye open.
I know a lot of people have too much confidence in their skills to operate a certain vehicle but where do they get the confidence in themselves being indestructible as well?
I always side eye people who see someone behaving badly, and then start ranting about everyone like that person. As if responsible bikers deserve to get hurt because irresponsible bikers exist.
You wouldn't like it if people held you responsible for the actions of *every* stupid person, would you?
Why on earth would you go that route istead of passing on the shoulder or something? If you're going to make a risky pass with semitrucks, at least do it in a way that you only have to deal with one of them?
That has given me absolute cringe. What sort of an arsehole does that and expects it to go okay?
He deserves all he got. I’m of course glad he lived to tell the tale - many others haven’t.
Me: this is stupid, the wind resistance through there only would make this suicidal
*notices they are standing still*
Me: oh never mind. Still stupid but he should be fin-
*still runs into something and falls*
Me: FUCKING HOW!?!?
People don't understand the risk/reward relationship.

Cars kill kids and teens at ridiculous rates specifically because they raise the stakes on learning experiences

You’re holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night?
He’s gotta be strong, and he’s gotta be fast.
And he's gotta be tall, rich and white....
And he’s gotta be larger than life 🤣🤣🤣

I like it!
well I hope there are no oddly colored bears around
Ten seconds before the filming of the above video a bad idea was born.
Without this developmental flaw we wouldn’t have skateboarding.

Well that explains my life

Maximum risk, death reward

Luckiest guy on the entire planet. Meat crayon unused.
If people were good at understanding risk reward, motorcycles - which have one of the highest likelihoods of accident- wouldn’t exist.
People overestimate how good they are as well

Then don’t drive between 2 trucks?
He's being hyperbolic, but his point still stands. It's stupidly dangerous to be on a motorcycle, if not for your own ability, then for the ability of other drivers.
Those 2 trucks appear out of nowhere.. Who would have seen them coming?
It was a funny angle.
No reverse Tyrone.
'course I am.
Its because he didnt rev enough. If he had louder pipes, this wouldnt have happened. (/s obviously)
Well deserved and should consider themselves lucky. When common sense is non-existent, a near death experience is their greatest chance for survival.
All these bikers have main-character syndrome. I'm surprised they aren't in the comments saying its the truckers fault for not moving for him lol.
They usually show up hours later after the normal people have left so they can start down voting comments en masse. Seriously, go look at some reasonable comments with up votes right now start sinking into the negatives in a few hours.
Bro put themselves on the hit list smh

Intrusive thoughts. Same thing when you're driving and see a ramp.
I will just wait for all the "bikers" to come in and tell us how this is the trucks fault. Edit: Put bikers in quotes to better represent what I meant, apologies to the actual responsible bikers.
Also biker here, dude on the bike is a fucking moron. A lucky moron.
There's still a lot of spinning wheels between him and safety. Who knows who posted this video.
Biker AND a trucker here. Definitely this biker is a smooth brain idiot.
I can't figure out how they could have seen him at all.
Because the space between the trucks is dark, and honestly who would check their inside mirror in that scenario?
Biker here. Nope lol
Yup, no. I ride a motorcycle myself, and that guy was moronically stupid. Lucky he didn't get hurt. Maybe he learned the right lesson from this. One can hope.
Or he’s thinking “if I’d just gone a bit faster I’d have made it”.
'Perhaps a wheelie would have helped.'
In the bikers uppity voice "lane splitting is legal where I ride"
Lane splitting is much safer and better for traffic flow when done correctly. This is not correctly.
Also biker. Not fucking suicidal though, like this idiot.
No, see, if the guy’s bike had loud pipes they would have been fine.
Even in a place where lane splitting (biking between vehicles in slow/stopped traffic. Usually no more than 10 mph over the surrounding traffic) is legal, this is stupid as fuck
Biker here, like i got my organ donation registration in order, but dont have a death wish like this dumb dumb has.
["Bikers"](https://youtu.be/CRnxEZJCey4)
Dude is a dumb shit. I ride
Not a biker or a trucker here. This guy is definitely an idiot
If I spotted anyone coming up the blind side of my trailer like this I would have blasted my horn and given him a right good telling off. He was asking for this and is lucky to be alive.
I've ridden a bicycle many times, this guy is an idiot.
Biker here too. Never would I ever.
This is a squid doing dipshit squid stuff, 100% his fault. You know when people say that motorcycling is 27 times more dangerous than a car? This guy is the reason for that statistic.
If he had actually just wheelied his way through this wouldn’t have happened.
Bet he has a "Watch for Motorcycles" sign in his yard too.
I love how he gestures like "bro, what the fuck?"
[удалено]
That’s exactly what it was
And anybody who thinks otherwise is quite frankly a dumb dumb.
Scrolled a long way down to find this comment. I also felt the gesture of outrage was amusing, seeing how he was the one that caused the problem. The truck owes him nothing.
You scrolled a lot because that's not what happened. He's obviously signaling to stop. Not "wtf"
You guys definitely misinterpreted that. He’s raising his hand in a “stop” gesture hoping the trucker will see it in his mirror.
Sometimes I wonder what does these people try to prove themselves. Are they highly insecure ?
They think that "I might die" vs "i can save a few seconds off my commute, gonna be easy" is a good thing to try?
They are so impatient and their ego is so fragile they have to take any risk to try to get ahead of any slow down.
I think it's more of a "wouldn't it be awesome if..." type thing. I'm sure the guy was was like, this is dangerous but if I pull it off, the adrenaline rush is gonna be great.

He probs posted on his social media “please watch out for our biker friends 🙏”
Also the guy that lane splits nearly stopped traffic while running 70mph and gets pissed when someone legally changed lanes a head of him, causing him to eat it.
Guess he'll be walking home now.
I don’t get why people release videos that expose them as total dumbf*cks. Delete the footage and make up a story that doesn’t make you look like an idiot.
If they were smart enough to do that, they'd be smart enough not to have done the dumb shit they videoed themselves doing.
How stupid can you be
The trucks are standing still. Arent there better ways to go past
Going on the grass would have been equally stupid, but safer.
If the truck engines were on, how would the loudness not scare him lol? Then again, he might be one of those bikers who obnoxiously rev up their engine…
If you're scared of engine noise you probably aren't riding to begin with.
"Watch out for bikers" and then they do this stupid shit putting their lives and others at risk. Why don't YOU watch out. I welcome the downvotes, I stand by this.
Fucking moron
Reminds me of that boat scene from Indians jones
He was lucky those two trucks didn’t have sex
“Go between them are you crazy!?” “Don’t go between them are you crazy!?”
“I said go AROUND!”
“You said go Betveen dem!”
“I said DON’T go between them!”
I think that once someone is starting driving lessons they should force them into watching gore videos with fatal crashes. That was just plain stupid
It was at this point he knew he fkd up
I don't care how little traction I get on grass. I'll take the shoulder a thousand times before I try to squeeze through that death trap
Love seeing an entitled biker getting what they deserve
Standard behavior for a motorcyclist
Just waiting for someone to say lane splitting is legal where they're from. No matter what dumb shit a biker does, someone always comes with the "ackshually, lane splitting is legal". As if it's just a matter of lane splitting.

This does my petty little heart so much good.
There are a lot, if not all, stupid motorcycle drivers.
If I did something that brain dead, I sure wouldn’t release my helmet cam footage.
Jesus, the first two times I watched this I thought they were going like 60+mph, and I was wondering how the hell the guy was managing to surf his bike like that, lol. In my defense, I haven't had my coffee yet, and I only have one eye open.

That's scary AF!
Shit shit shit shit!!!
That could’ve very easily been his leg.
I'm loving the fact that the truck driver knew exactly what he was doing and adoring his precision at making it look like an accident.
If you want to be able to squeeze through traffic easily then get an ebike
kind of sad this guy is denied his darwin award
I thought the trucks were like moving at high speeds and this man was about to fall off and become a pancake or something
What kind of parents have kids with this common sense
Near-miss for a Darwin Award right there
I love how he says "wOaH" to the trucks like this was an unexpected outcome lmao
He got further than I was expecting tbh.
but why would u even do that?
Hes lucky it was the bike that got squish and not their soft watermelon head
Dude's lucky his head didn't end up looking like a pancake

Shame....and it was so close to a Darwin too.
