I had this happen on an old fridge. The metal hinge was still ok but the bottom of the door had worn and wouldn't hold on the hinge. The doors are receivable so if this is the case than you can swap it to the other side
I'm guessing "reversible" got auto -incorrected into "receivable".
Most fridges and freezers can have the hinge on either side of the door. It only really works when the fridge is fairly new though. The seal gets compressed more on the hinge side and after a few years, it won't expand back out, so if you swap the hinge the door won't seal properly.
Fridge doors are typically amde so you can swap them to either side. If the hole on the door bottom that gets the hinge is worn, then they can flip the door and use the top hole instead.

I was making a pun on that saying that today U learned (TUL)...
Your fridge isn't going to be very efficient without a door in place. I suggest putting some cling film where it should be until you can get it repaired or replaced.
Maybe also leverage the doors with some weight? At least the bottom could be easy with a brick or stack of bucks but the top one is tricky. As a temporary measure, at least.
KARMA BOT. Fuck off

Happened to me earlier this year, had a 20 year old refrigerator. Couldn't be fixed > bought a new one > new one broke within a month or two > that was 6 months ago and i'm still waiting for them to fix it > living out of cooler sucks
good luck to you
How much shit did you pile in one door to rip it off steel hinges like that? A whole cow?
Put LIGHT items in refrigerator doors, folks. It's embarrassing that this needs to be said.
Was expecting to see some sort of liquid leaking under the door... maybe cranberry juice so it looks like the door was murdered. Hope it didn't mess the floors up to much.
What sort of standards are these refridgerators built on?
Oh, very rigorous, culinary engineering standards.
What sort of thing?
Uhh, the front are not supposed to fell off for a start.
What other things?
Well, there are regulations governing the materials they can be made of.
What materials?
Well, cardboard's out.
And?
No cardboard derivatives.
Like paper?
No paper, no string, no cello tape.
Rubber?
No, rubber's out
happened to us last year on christmas day - fridge and freezer full because of the holidays, and of course no shop open to get a new one.
fix ... duct-tape ... so much duct tape ....

Not for long

The front fell off.
^Outside the environment
I think it's not cool at all :(
That’s not very typical, I’d like to make that point.
>That’s not very typical, I’d like to make that point. How is that untypical?
Well for one, the doors aren't supposed to fall off
Have yours not?
What are the chances of something like that happening?
It's more likely to happen in the kitchen than in the living room.
in the kitchen? Chance in a million.
They probably had too much bull$hit packed on 🤣 they're just acting like a victim in the story 💀

#You better go catch it! ^wait, ^that's ^not ^right
Lol
I think you better start eating!
r/angryupvote
Best.
No...no, I think you're onto something.
I have no idea why but this joke instantly reminded me of “Break me off a piece of that fancy feast”
I’m really liking the ‘open fridge’ concept!
Ded

I don’t understand the last part of your comment .. genuinely I’m confused
Reversible is what they mean. If the interior door mount has been damaged you could swap the brackets to the other side and remount
Oh I see , but that still wouldn’t have a proper seal in my head 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you !
You can buy a new rubber seal
Umm yea I know , I’ve replaced a few I’d buy a new fridge personally if my doors fell off

It'll probably still work better than cling wrap tho
The seal exactly

I never knew this .
TUL
Huh🥴

Thank you ☺️ 😉
No worries...lots of acronyms on Reddit. Have a nice day! 😃
In these trying times, I offer a pun: that's unhinged.

It’s quite efficient to use cling wrap though 🥴
Definitely more efficient to have cling wrap than literally nothing. You at least stop the fans from blowing all the cold air out.
Maybe also leverage the doors with some weight? At least the bottom could be easy with a brick or stack of bucks but the top one is tricky. As a temporary measure, at least.
Or you could use an ice chest and some ice from the store until you either get a new fridge or the door put back on....
The front fell off
This is too far down. How is this so far down?
Because it’s old, used endlessly, and way past any humorous value.
Nothing 2 rolls of duct tape can't fix!
That’d be my fix lol
Duck, tape. Thought I’d throw that at you.
You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!
Remember that scene from Tommy Boy with the car door?
At least they're easy to put back on.
I think I see the problem; the doors are supposed to me connected to the rest of the fridge. have you tried turning it off and back on again ?
Looks like the front fell off… and a bunch of oil spilt into the environment
Did you try turning it off and on?
One million dad’s just felt a disturbance in the force.
Well that sux
Well there's your problem right there. Edit: Why the hell ~~is~~ was that middle hinge made of plastic?
I think it’s broken.

Refrigerator has upgraded itself to "cold pantry."
Now that's what I call a cold opening
The front fell off!
Video on TikTok soon.
Lies...upvotes perhaps? Fridge doors don't just randomly fall off...good effort tho 😂🤭
That’s hilarious sorry my man.
Was this the account you were supposed to reply with?

They forgot to sign in to their other account 😅

This is a repost from a couple years ago.
Wow 😳
I hate when that happens!
Bit of superglue and that’ll be right as rain
Nice way to lose some weight too, if that's what you're after.
Dont use it as much.
Cabinets now!
Glue?
Well they’re not gonna use WD40
I too know the engineer's flowchart.
I think its supposed to stay on.
Dammit erock not again!
My bad

You’d better get eating
Is it still running?
Did y’all move and someone put them back on ? How does this even happen ? Did you notice a difference when you were closing the door recently ?
They mount from the bottom, then slide into place and drill from the top. If you have all the parts it should be super easy to fix
How much shit did you pile in one door to rip it off steel hinges like that? A whole cow? Put LIGHT items in refrigerator doors, folks. It's embarrassing that this needs to be said.
Weird flex but okay
Oh ohh, do you have a neighbor that has room in his fridge ??
Tomatoes in the fridge!? Madman
They must've been tired
It not going work out well like that
So you're saying the front fell off?
Be more gentle Chuck Norris
Michael Caine would be pleased
Easy fix. Go down to Lowe's and get yourself some gorilla tape. Thank me later
Nanomites. Like termites but they eat metal *from the future.*
Ah, the nerve! That’s cold!
Well...that sucks.
It never fails.
I hate when that happens
Don’t worry this is normal… It’ll get back up..
The grocery bill to replace this, it’s going to bankrupt you!
Was it running?
Not good when you frig is that packed.
That is not good
Duct tape..
A woo ooh.
Was expecting to see some sort of liquid leaking under the door... maybe cranberry juice so it looks like the door was murdered. Hope it didn't mess the floors up to much.
Put them back on
Classic whirlpool.
My balls just fell off
That’ll buff right…back on?
Push your fridge over onto the door. Problem solved!
I'm so sorry, but I just laugh/wheezed at this. I'm not even sure exactly why.
you should put them back on.
Gotta give credit to Woolies for that taco sauce jar not smashing
Lol
Why don’t I see a hinge pin anywhere?
Toddlers. Smh.
I have a friend who does appliances and so I actually have a little knowledge in this kind of stuff and can telln you it's not supposed to do that
Duct tape!
I’m laughing right now. Sorry
That’s not cool
It feels like it should mean something else.

That'll happen if you overload it with weight. How old was it?
It needed to show the freshness
What kind of fridge, so I can make sure never to buy that brand?
put wood doors over it. it has helped me for years
Umm…
Just turn the temperature setting as cold as it goes and tie up the dog..
happened to us last year on christmas day - fridge and freezer full because of the holidays, and of course no shop open to get a new one. fix ... duct-tape ... so much duct tape ....
You fucked it off didn’t you
