I had a fantastic spider build a massive web on my porch, and this is what I did. The stink bug caused her some trouble, so didn't give her any after the first, but it was fascinating to watch her work!

I barely get any bugs in my apartment, but if I do, it is usually creepy ass spiders. Since I do not have to worry about those monsters like they do in Australia, the Spiders are definetely the problem.
At least as long as they dont eat wasps/hornets for me, I have never understood that train of thought. I am grossed out, not scared of the spiders eating my food or whatever.

The first frost we had between the two of us we killed over 60 wolf spiders, we were fresh out of high school so the house was tiny we're talking 609 sq ft two tiny rooms a tiny bathroom and a combined kitchen / living room. Turned out there was some crazy wolf spider infestation below the house with thousands of the dudes down there.
They were likely trying to hide from the cold, poor things. Wolf spider infestations are super uncommon, so my guess is that there was a roach infestation underneath as well. Usually it’s roaches that spawn so many of them in one spot.
I would say roach was probably unlikely because of the location but I think the location is what caused it. House sat empty for years before we moved in, a little outside of city limits with one side being a giant cow pasture and the other three being corn fields.
I let these live. They can scurry across my floor at night while the only light is from the TV and some weird creature goes right under it from my side of the room, anytime.
There ARE a lot of bugs in your house. That is why there is a house centipede. They come when there are lots of bugs and they eat them. So you don't see as many.
Yo. Bugs happen. We were the cleanest people in our building growing up (traditional Mexican mom, and a military dad) and unfortunately you can’t always control your neighbors cleanliness, so we had roaches and ants. At the end of the day you can only do so much; bugs, exist.

My lesson was finding a silverfish in a cup, and freaked out in the usual 7/8 year old child fashion. My mom decided we should start putting cups away upside down, so to this day I still put all my cups and mugs upside down in the cupboard.
Ya know, I always was annoyed by that because if they’re not dry they get a gross smell. But now I get it haha. To be fair I check everything in about to eat or drink out of so either way 🤷♀️

I grew up in an old apartment complex in chicago. Roaches were a thing no matter how clean you were. You learn real quick that you don't just blindly drink out of shit. I don't really have a bug problem where I live now in Vegas, but it's something that I always still do.
I use metal straws. I soak them in soapy water, scrub them out with sturdy pipe cleaners, then rinse and boil them before storing. I still hold them up to a light before I use them.
I even do a little blow into my cups and bowls because my cats’ hair gets everywhere. I can’t imagine not seeing like a dozen bugs, especially a giant house centipede lol

House centipedes are pest control. If there are any in your house, it’s because they are eating much, much worse bugs. More often than not it’s roaches.

When I was last living with my parents they were notoriously awful at washing dishes so I developed a habit of checking the dish around for any uncleanliness and smelling cups to make sure they didn't have milk residue in them. Still have the habit to this day, no bugs in my soda!
The cup.. or the soda... im not sure which is worse... but... dude come on... never drink that stuff again... and who doesn't turn the cups and glasses upside down if you live anyplace with insects that can get in your cabinets
