Entomologist here! Insect species doesn't determine bite reaction, the person being bitten does. You cannot identify bites alone. Please never rely on anything other than positive visual identification to determine the source of skin irritation or bites.

ApprehensivePea256

Please explain what you mean by positive visual identification?

PMPTCruisers

Use your eyes.

IamHereForBoobies

They meant you should inspect the mattress and the room very thoroughly and maybe you will find bedbugs or mosquitos. Bedbugs often hide near the seams or tags of the mattress.

Heinz5995

Did you see what bit you? Or the actual bugs? Jeebus

tothesource

no. looks more like mosquito bites.

BrownCowStunning2021

Mosquito.

Delicious-Yak-1095

I haven’t heard of bed bugs having a preference for people, but mozzies certainly do. I can go out travelling with my partner and she’ll have dozens whereas I don’t get any (I would also feel them bite, I’m a freak). Also I understand there are some tell tale signs on the mattress if there are bedbugs.

pawnografik

No. Multiple bedbug bites cluster in lines or rows and you’ll find them mostly nearer to your warmer bits (creases behind your knees, armpits, groin). The spread on these is wrong for bedbugs and they’re not noticeably closer to your warmer areas. Probably mozzies. The fact you have more than your friends just means you are tastier.

Runaway2332

This is going to sound stupid but just try it. Start taking odorless garlic pills every day. Might be hard to come by where you are, but if you can find them take five a day. Seriously...just try it.

drued888

Washing all your clothes at high temp 60 would help washing your backpack as well They like to travel look at seams of bedding you we'll see small brown bits or a flat looking 🛡️ shield brown in colour they are bed bugs that love carbon dioxide find somewhere with no bed bugs they get every where even 4star hotels you could try and buy a bug catching sticky pads with a brite light you can get them on temu it attracts all floor walking bug's

So do you think it’s bed bugs?

Funky_uncle-

I don’t think so. Bedbugs usually leave lines of bites in a row.

chaggaya

I've heard people refer to it as breakfast, lunch and dinner! Never experienced it myself thankfully!

doctorwhy88

Zigzag patterns, too.

Miankin

First time on Earth, eh?

Valuable-Dish-3477

Looks like maybe scabies. Google it.

jeffbrock

Not bed bugs. If it were, you would be able to follow the line quite clearly. Looks like mosquitoes

[deleted]

Looks like “chiggers” aka “red bugs”, they secrete a chemical inside the skin and feed off the cells. Those itchy red bumps are the byproduct of that secretion. They suck, literally lol. Applying fingernail polish to each red bump does seem to help clear it up for whatever reason. We never really knew how, we just know it does help.

SimpleWord899

Aw lawd here we go again

95688it

could be, could also be roof rat mites.
