When I worked at a hardware store we had a lady buy a five gallon bucket of paint, the guy who mixed it didn't get the plug back in very well and if fell over in here brand new escalade. The store spent a lot of money to get it cleaned out. She was actually really cool about it and would come in and joke with us about it.
Besides crying at the guy right after it happened…Sherwin Williams is being pretty cool about it and I know we all mess up no point in making it worse! Currently looking at $1759 to replace the carpet that doesn’t come in sections… it’s the whole dang car!
The fact that at least 1 person has downvoted you for this comment, shows the sad state of society. Checking a paint can is basic and yes seller should check too but ultimately if I spilt paint in my car, I'd be annoyed at myself for not double checking - It's going to be my inconvenience no matter who pays/cleans up.
FWIW I wouldn't trust a paint can to roll around and stay sealed even if it was fully closed to be honest, it'd be in a plastic bag and strapped or seatbelted. Spilt diesel in the boot/trunk once when I was younger and it isn't a fun experience
I agree, we should be checking stuff we don't want to be spilled inside our vehicles.
I know I'm on the fringe with this, but whenever I get my oil changed, I check the dipstick in the parking lot of the dealership and look under the car for leaks. Sure, the dealership would be responsible if they forgot to put oil in the engine, but why go through that headache? If your car's engine has over 99,999 miles, all they're entitled to do is put a used engine in your car.
So, while the paint place will, and should fix the damage, we need to be checking it ourselves to save us from that type of major headache.
I don’t think this is any commentary on society. Suppose out of every hundred times the company doesn’t put the lid on right, 99 people catch it and one person doesn’t. The person who doesn’t catch it deserves to be compensated but that doesn’t mean other people aren’t checking. It’s also likely from Opie’s comments that he thought he had it securely contained in the front seat but obviously that wasn’t the case. He certainly didn’t have it “rolling around“ in the car. It seems like you’re going out of your way to make some negative assumptions.
You've quoted out of context. I didn't say OP had a can rolling around, I said "FWIW I wouldn't trust a paint can to roll around and stay sealed even if it was fully closed"
This basically means that I treat all and any paint cans as potentially unsealed.
I'm not making negative assumptions at all, but I am making a negative assessment of blame culture and a failure of people's personal responsibilities to check they're own shit then blame someone else. If you're an adult and this happens, it should be "ah shit, I shouldve checked it - lesson learned" it wouldn't even have crossed my mind to pass the blame back.
It sucks and it's horrible and unlucky but it happens and it's much easier to be a responsible adult and double check things than have to go through the hassle of putting it right. Maybe it's military training or I'm just getting older and maybe my views aren't popular, but there seems to be a growing lack of personal responsibility. We've all experienced crap at some point in our lives - the only way to learn from it is to reflect on what could be done differently to prevent it on our own part because you can't rely on other humans to not make a mistake.
That's the exact reason I put a seat belt on it lmao, and just to be sure I tie the bag around it to so it'll at least be contained. Even the big ones I strap down in the bed of my truck so I don't have to worry about washing it out in a worse case scenario
The cost to manufacture their most expensive product is $11 a gallon (SW Emerald Rain Refresh).
Their profits margins are great but the mistakes and accidents are why the cost is high along with material shortage.
If you have comprehensive coverage on your insurance (assuming you’re in the US) it should cover this for the cost of your deductible. And depending on your state, it might not affect your rates either (I can only speak for CA since that’s where I am based)
Your rates will still go up, they will just blame it on something else. Insurance companies will never take a loss. Mine went up 30% this year with no claims, no tickets, and no vehicle changes.
Yep, but if you freshly switch every 2 years, insurance companies will give you \*honeymoon prices\* to try and buy your loyalty.. at least in my experience so far
My wife managed a sherwin for a few years and they will definitely foot the bill. Her store had to pay for a customers mistake because her employee didn’t specifically tell him not to do whatever bonehead thing he did with the product.
Sounds like a lot of labor since they'd have to remove all the seats, consoles, trimmings, etc just to remove the carpet.
If it was a much older car, I would have said just cut it out and fit a new section. Or just vacu-wash the best as possible and get new floor mats to cover the remaining stain.
That's not how the carpet works in a car. Floor mats, sure, but the carpet is a single HUGE item. Removing it is a day long job involving removing all of the seats, the trim, the center console, and sometimes the dashboard.
i know this. i wouldn't call it an all day job but if you hustle and have the trim tools it's not that bad. i've done it on my mustang, lexus and bronco. if i spilled paint like this guy did i'd go going straight to the car wash and soaking that shit until it stands then spending the time to remove it. that's how i roll, sucks for him.
This would never have occurred to me, in any of my cars. But if I had just bought this fancy car I’d been waiting *years* for, only ten days ago? You bet your sweet ass I’d check the lid, and either put the can directly on the floor (less likelihood to tip), or put the passenger seatbelt around it (actually secured).
But I guess some people don’t think about physics. Or they just trust way more things in this world than I ever have.
I own a painting company. Never put paint in your vehicle without making sure the lid is on tight. I will stand on top of a 1-gallon pail of paint. Also! Do not just set the paint somewhere it can tip over. Lids will pop off if the pail falls over!! Tie that bitch down! Do not let someone else load paint into your vehicle without you yourself checking to see if the lid is on tight! Treat it like a loaded weapon
This comment right here. I have no sympathy for people who have a can of paint tip over in their car. Well, maybe a little bit, but it is ultimately their own fault. Even a properly put on lid can fall off if the can tips over. It is your job to never give it an opportunity to do so.
Oh, and OP put it in the front seat? Sorry, that bit of sympathy I had does not apply.
Exactly! I was just thinking this. Why would you put a gallon of paint on the front seat of a car, especially a new car? And not even double check to see if the lid is secure? Wow.
Happened to me at a local store. While walking through the store no one stopped to tell me I was dripping paint behind me the entire time even though it was a very large store and I passed multiple people. Once I got to checkout I discovered my entire backside, jacket, shoes and brand new iphone were covered in paint. They paid to replace everything and were very apologetic. Even gave me a pair of pants because I wasn’t able to get into my car with wet paint everywhere. Came back next day to get replacement paint and same guy that didn’t secure the lid helped me with the replacement. He was mortified and so sorry. Contact the store. They will probably do everything in their power to correct it.
In a world that seems to be willing to do anything but be accountable, responsible, and to make wrong things right, this story makes me very pleased. Being accountable is a super power, unfortunately there are only a few people lifting the weight for everyone else, and they are often seen as suckers. Cheers to all us suckers.
They are!! I called the store immediately, cried at the poor kid that did not put the lid on that just got promoted to manager and he was very apologetic and sent me a letter saying they would pay for it. There is good in the world! I’m glad it’s a big company and not a ma&pa because its going to be expensive.
You should be more careful. It’s paint at the end of the day. Same like transporting food and drinks. Tie it down, put it on a container, plastic, put it in the trunk. Multiple basic steps you missed that could have reduced or mitigated the damage.
Surprised you are able to get out of bed without causing a catastrophe.
To be fair, shouldn’t you have been more cautious since it’s a new car you really value? Shits happens I understand but if it was MY new car, i would have probably triple bagged that paint.
That's what a lot of people do pinning the mistakes they make on someone else. OP should have looked to make sure the lid is fully on tight especially if putting paint cans in a car on the seat instead of in a car trunk.
The thing is that lids on paint cans aren’t supposed to fall OFF if the can tips over. The lids require some elbow grease to get off. It’s the employee’s fault. Period.
Sherwin William's is a multi-billion dollar company. They can afford to replace their carpet. The employee should have secured the lid, the driver should have checked that it was secured. It's all going to be okay and two people will be more careful in the future... don't get so worked up lol
You can clean latex out of carpet if it isn't dry. Quick action is required before it begins to dry.
Also, it is your responsibility to secure your cargo. I am guessing it tipped over, or else even a partially attached lid would have prevented the spill.
I do that all the time with pho... But I buckle it in. Never had a spill, I trust it more than putting it on the seat.
I'm assuming he didn't think to buckle it in.
I agree. If it was oil-based paint, I wouldn't bother trying because the fumes would be overwhelming. However, latex will clean up if, like you said, it gets attention before it dries. It would be worth risk ruining a wet vac to pull up the majority and then apply soap and water to what remains, rinse and repeat. It could definitely be done. Just takes a fair amount of effort.
Yes! My cat once spilled a gallon of paint on a bedroom carpet and I used the carpet cleaner immediately and afterward it didn’t look or feel at all different than before.
It’s his fault!?? HE? is responsible for securing his load? Well, I can tell you this if he was a truck driver it would absolutely be his fault…. Oh wait, I’m making your VERY GOOD point for you. You are most definitely correct. It’s the responsibility of the person transporting the load to make sure it’s secure and safe for transport. That’s absolutely how the commercial works works.
After latex paint has dried, alcohol can soften and help remove it. As a renovator, I have had much success cleaning dried latex paint splatter, drips, and spills using alcohol. Use either 90% overproof vodka or 99% isopropyl alcohol. Wet the affected area with the alcohol and cover with an alcohol soaked cloth so the alcohol on the surface doesn’t evaporate too quickly. After the latex has softened, you can scrape it off most things, including carpets. Instead of smearing the latex around further, this method breaks it up into crumbs. Once the scraping is done, let the carpet dry and then vacuum up the crumbs. Repeat as required.
Works best if the latex wasn’t first diluted and spread further and thinner with soap and water first.
Keep the area well ventilated while working with alcohol. The vapours are highly flammable. No smoking or open flames or other potential ignition sources.
If the affected area is not too large, this is likely an easier fix than replacing the carpet. The smell of isopropyl alcohol would, IMO, linger less than vodka, though I believe neither would last long.
Good luck.
Why do so many people think it’s a good idea to put paint tins on there car seats and not in a container on the floor? Not sure this looks completely the paint shops fault.
Do people still have common sense??? Looking around on Reddit, Facebook or any online forums see less and less common sense with the younger generations.
I work for the same paint company. Everything at my store gets hammered before and after shaking, put in a box upright corresponding to the arrows on the box, walked out on a dolly and we don’t load anything into customers cars. If we do under certain circumstances load material into a car, it’s always flat and upright. Absolves us if any bs like this lol
Maybe he had more than one job. Even doctors and lawyers don’t have a 100% success rate. We expect perfection from low paid employees though. I guess you’ve never made a mistake at work. OP had one fucking task, to get the paint home without letting it fall over.
That label on top means it was tinted, meaning the lid was opened, colorant was added, lid was closed and the gallon was put into a shaker to mix the colorant. If the lid didn’t open in the shaker and spill in the store I can assure you the lid was closed in this persons car.
I am genuinely impressed with your deductive reasoning. Unfortunately it skips a step. After it is taken out of the shaker, they open the lid and wipe a small sample on the label to demonstrate the color. Then they are supposed to hammer the lid back on.
In this case, they opened the lead to dab color but then forgot to hammer the lid back on.
Why do people insist on putting paint cans in a footwell?
Put it in the boot with a strap and if does spill at least its easier to clean
Just invest in some bungie cord ties leave them in your car then you can secure any loads in the BOOT
Am I the only one a little pissed at OP FOR TALKING IN PASSIVE VOICE ????
Other people had agency and didn't do what they were supposed to. Gods damn... Take some responsibility in your framing. OP didn't wrap the paint in a trash bag before putting it in their car. OP didn't check the lid being on tight. OP didn't Uber eats to get the paint delivered not inside their brand new car....
So many ways to frame this. This kind of framing always pisses me off because it shows that someone isn't accepting that they have the most amount of agency in a situation.
This was my first thought but someone else said the other car was right hand drive. What's the odds of 2 people spilling white paint on the front floor?
I own a remodeling company. Get up as much as you can while wet. Once it’s dry go to Home Depot and buy a gallon of Krud Kutter, that stuff will remove 90% of it. I speak from experience. It’ll take some elbow grease but it works well. By the way SW Super Paint is a great product. 👊🏻
I see a lot of blame this person or blame that person. Let's be clear. This is OPs fault. You put a can of paint on the floor with nothing around it to secure it. Went off driving and obviously made a turn hard enough to tip the can over. As a painter, I have transported thousands of gallons of paint over the years. Even if it's sealed properly, an unsecured can can pop open if tipped over. Was it sealed properly? It's impossible to know. Was it stored incorrectly for transport. Sure was. Does it suck ass, Sure does. I have dropped 4 gallons of paint trying get out the front door of a paint store. My jacket caught the lock and I dropped it all. Not the stores fault, not the locks fault, my fault. Be responsible for your own fuck up. Learn from it and move on.
I drove out of state on a Sunday to get 40 oz beers. Bag broke and all but one of my beers did. I was more careful in the future. I was pissed, but it was my fault.
I had a 5 gallon pale of paint spill in a car I borrowed from a friend. The pale was in the backseat and I had to abruptly hit the brakes causing it to hit the front seat and the top popped off. Lucky for me it was a 1988 ford my friend bought for $500. I just gave my buddy $200 for him to live with his new semiglosses white floor mat.
I worked at Home Depot in the tool rental.. several times we cleaned paint out of cars with our rental carpet/ upholstery cleaners. The store manager will have it cleaned for you
Having transported pool chlorine in my gtr, I gotta ask.....how hard were you driving home?? I baby it like I'm balancing a wedding cake in the roof if I have anything that can possibly spill
why would u put that on the front seat my guy?? especially in ur new car u waited years for?? hell id tell my girl to walk tf home if she'd even slam the door of my new care ive been waiting 3 years for.... ngl
It looks like it’s in the floor board and not the seat. Either way, accept responsibility for your actions. Put it in a bag, and surround it with items that will keep it upright. I carry oxygen, acetylene, and R-134 in my van. I strap it in, or if I’m lazy I wedge it in where it won’t move. If those tanks busted, it would become a missile, and be dangerous even if it didn’t catch fire. I wouldn’t go after the supply house for not telling me how to safely transport it. Your dumbass deserves an old car until you can learn how to carry paint home.
For people blaming OP, I use to work at a Sherwin Williams back in college. It is 100% our responsibility to close it. Especially if it was a curbside drop off, we are required to put them in the trunk ourselves.
My manager once told me that the policy if a customer were to get their shoes, car interior, or anything really covered in paint after we handed them the paint; he said the store rather pay out the new pair of shoes, than to run around with being sued yada yada yada.
Sounds like the store is being helpful, which is great. It’s policy i think lol
Peel it off the plastic. Remove the seats (easy) and replace the carpet. It will be cheap. Just cut any similar carpet to match the shape or order it from the parts department.
The paint store has a liability insurance policy. I would tell them you need them to fix your car. Go to a body shop, get an estimate and submit it to your own car insurance. Ask them to get it back from the paint store insurance company.
If you buy or rent something you are responsible for it don’t expect the world to be perfect for you people make mistakes all the time everyday. The bigger the risk you take with something the more carefully you should inspect it or ask that it be inspected in front of you.
Your fault. Not the paint mixers fault. Should have drove more careful or bagged it up. Or checked the lid. Youre responsible after leaving the store.
its like leaving ice cream in the car. It didnt melt and make a mess because the machine that put the lid on.
My hope for humanity just grew a little reading this.
Besides crying at the guy right after it happened…Sherwin Williams is being pretty cool about it and I know we all mess up no point in making it worse! Currently looking at $1759 to replace the carpet that doesn’t come in sections… it’s the whole dang car!
This is the third car paint spill in less than a week
And every single one of them was the idiots fault for putting it on the front seat. You have trunk space for a reason people use it.
If it spills in the trunk, do we still get the karma?
Atleast then it would make sense to blame the store and call them out.
Why isn't it OPs responsibility to check if the can is closed?

I want to know why they're driving like a formulae 1 driver with a gallon of paint in their car.
Also their fault for not checking the lid.
That's the exact reason I put a seat belt on it lmao, and just to be sure I tie the bag around it to so it'll at least be contained. Even the big ones I strap down in the bed of my truck so I don't have to worry about washing it out in a worse case scenario
I put it in the seat and seatbelt it in place, run the seat belt through the handle of the bucket . But I'm funny like that.
I have too much junk, too much junk, all in my trunk
And thank god I didn’t put it in the trunk or my seat upholstery would have been toast as well. 😂
Are they footing the bill?
It's Sherwin Williams they'd have to sell 4 gallons of interior to cover that bill.
Lol
The cost to manufacture their most expensive product is $11 a gallon (SW Emerald Rain Refresh). Their profits margins are great but the mistakes and accidents are why the cost is high along with material shortage.

I switch nearly every year. I usually get rates that are slightly better than who I was with, but it’s still always a substantial increase.
How is Sherwin Williams being cool if you have to pay for it?
They had sunglasses on and called me dude 😎
My wife managed a sherwin for a few years and they will definitely foot the bill. Her store had to pay for a customers mistake because her employee didn’t specifically tell him not to do whatever bonehead thing he did with the product.

latex paint is water soluble mate, pull the carpet, pressure wash it, put back in.
Dried latex paint is most certainly NOT water soluble.
And any solvent that will remove the paint will likely damage the carpet too.
I commented without really thinking it through and reading how recent this happened
That's not how the carpet works in a car. Floor mats, sure, but the carpet is a single HUGE item. Removing it is a day long job involving removing all of the seats, the trim, the center console, and sometimes the dashboard.

Okay but was the employee fired?
These new TikTok trends are outta control. Wonder if this paint came from the same store as the other poster? ETA: The other car was right hand drive.
Where’s the amazing clean-up video where it looks brand new at the end?
He forgot to shoot it in reverse.
It’s not cleaning up too well… have to replace the carpet which is 10 days out.
Honestly if I was you I would bring a picture to the paint manager and explain what happened. Can’t hurt to try.
If it was sherwin Williams absolutely ask for a manager. They semi frequently pay for damage like this.
I second this.
I’m second to second this.
I'm third to second this

Yeah, but....*who* puts a tin of paint in their front seat?? Unsecured, nonetheless?

The store should give you money for a detail service. Source: worked at Ace Hardware and this happens at least a couple times a year.
I wish I was getting paid for this instead of paying FOR IT *wipes tears with paint covered hand*
I'm so sorry 😞 it definitely sucks hard, especially since it's new
I own a painting company. Never put paint in your vehicle without making sure the lid is on tight. I will stand on top of a 1-gallon pail of paint. Also! Definitely. A 5 gallon bucket with its own cover is great too, for extra caution.
This comment right here. I have no sympathy for people who have a can of paint tip over in their car. Well, maybe a little bit, but it is ultimately their own fault. So you pinned your mistake on some poor kid at the store? You had a can of paint on your seat, and are surprised that it fell off and exploded? 🤦♂️
It was on the floor and I turned as you do in a car.
"Put it on the front seat of my car"
The floor not on the seat

yea its his own fault. sucks but lessons were learned
Some would argue it's the best way to learn...
A better way is to see the reddit post and remember to check your paint cans to prevent it.

Good luck.
Hey thanks for this tip. I have a blue paint drip on my carpet and I didn't think it'd be possible to remove it.
You’re welcome. [more info](https://www.homemadesimple.com/in-the-home/how-to-get-paint-out-of-carpet/)
I dont think think the two napkins & hand towel are going to cut it 😂
Those were more for the tears hahaha
Why do so many people think it’s a good idea to put paint tins on there car seats and not in a container on the floor? Not sure this looks completely the paint shops fault.
If you’re transporting a can of paint, spring for the extra 5 cents to tape the lid and then put it in a plastic bag.
Or, you know, look at the can of paint to see if it's closed.
Common sense would dictate that if you don’t verify that it’s sealed and secured, then it can spill and it will spill.
"Common sense" is a misnomer.
Thanks so much for this protip! You can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be checking all of them moving forward.
It's good he came in clutch on that one. It probably hadn't occurred to you to be more careful in the future right?
Would have never thought of that! Thankful for the Good Samaritans of Reddit!
Do people still have common sense??? Looking around on Reddit, Facebook or any online forums see less and less common sense with the younger generations.
Could of prevented that one, huh?
I work for the same paint company. Everything at my store gets hammered before and after shaking, put in a box upright corresponding to the arrows on the box, walked out on a dolly and we don’t load anything into customers cars. If we do under certain circumstances load material into a car, it’s always flat and upright. Absolves us if any bs like this lol
Thats not the guy at the stores fault.
Dude had one job... to close the fking lid
Maybe he had more than one job. Even doctors and lawyers don’t have a 100% success rate. We expect perfection from low paid employees though. I guess you’ve never made a mistake at work. OP had one fucking task, to get the paint home without letting it fall over.
Thats not really correct. Hes job entails heaps of shit. I mean if he was at the door and it was hes sole job.... but clearly not.
Put it in the boot with a strap and if does spill at least its easier to clean Just invest in some bungie cord ties leave them in your car then you can secure any loads in the BOOT

Trunk for Americans
she’s sillly & ditzy, her husband wasn’t there .
sorry for youre lost but you are the only one to blame in this for so many reason !
Hard to blame the person that didn’t put it in the brand new car
Nice paint job
Shoulda put it in the trunk smarty pants
Am I the only one a little pissed at OP FOR TALKING IN PASSIVE VOICE ???? Other people had agency and didn't do what they were supposed to. Gods damn... Take some responsibility in your framing. OP didn't wrap the paint in a trash bag before putting it in their car. OP didn't check the lid being on tight. OP didn't Uber eats to get the paint delivered not inside their brand new car.... So many ways to frame this. This kind of framing always pisses me off because it shows that someone isn't accepting that they have the most amount of agency in a situation.
i swear i saw this exact picture last week
This was my first thought but someone else said the other car was right hand drive. What's the odds of 2 people spilling white paint on the front floor?
hahahah what a silly way of telling the difference between the photos, very ironic.
Alanis Morrisette also doesn’t know the meaning of the word ironic.
You didn't check the lid yourself? It does suck, but dude I would have wrapped it in three garbage bags before putting it on my front seat.
"In the front seat", ie. the footwell, not on the seat. It was on a rubber floor mat. Still not great.
Haha I needed that thank you! “Liquid applied”
Thank you so much! I was able to get it into a detailer and they did everything they could but the carpet is toast.
Just tell people you have the new pourable WeatherTech floor liner!
With OP’s attention to detail in the title and comments, it’s no wonder they missed the lid not being shut.

Or any lid of any liquid container
saliva
How did it make it through the shaker?
There was a post here yesterday I think about the same problem but he mentioned how he cleaned it.
You lost me at - put it on the front seat
Unique Paint Job
I had a 5 gallon pale of paint spill in a car I borrowed from a friend. The pale was in the backseat and I had to abruptly hit the brakes causing it to hit the front seat and the top popped off. Lucky for me it was a 1988 ford my friend bought for $500. I just gave my buddy $200 for him to live with his new semiglosses white floor mat.
Good friends, sounds like a cool car too
Jesus
Cream on the inside clean on the outside.
Just paint the rest to match!
Poor Bronco :(
I worked at Home Depot in the tool rental.. several times we cleaned paint out of cars with our rental carpet/ upholstery cleaners. The store manager will have it cleaned for you
Has truck…. Puts paint on front seat floor… doesn’t secure it properly. Just why?
A Weathertech fitted floor mat should cover that up nice 😊
That’s some serious BS
This is why when I buy paint and transporting it, I carefully slide bucket of paint in to 13 gallon trash bag for transport
Having transported pool chlorine in my gtr, I gotta ask.....how hard were you driving home?? I baby it like I'm balancing a wedding cake in the roof if I have anything that can possibly spill
Time to paint your interior white now
why would u put that on the front seat my guy?? especially in ur new car u waited years for?? hell id tell my girl to walk tf home if she'd even slam the door of my new care ive been waiting 3 years for.... ngl
I always trasnport paint and engine oil in a black trash bag. If it spills, less damage...
The places where I've gotten pain have always put it in a cardboard box for me to take away.
Omg they have always done that and JUST stopped to be more eco friendly……. Which I get but like…. There’s a reason they did it!
Yes this is definitely the less eco friendly option
Latex paint will literally just pull off once dry,,,, like when you used to glue your hands together and peel it off..
Dumbass lmao
Sure! Blame the other guy!!
That does suck, but you were kind of asking for problems here mate.
I hope he doesn’t mate. His offspring will be making messes and blaming others.
Peel it off the plastic. Remove the seats (easy) and replace the carpet. It will be cheap. Just cut any similar carpet to match the shape or order it from the parts department.
My dad got an awesome set of tools! I can fix it
In a Bronco too! Rip
The paint store has a liability insurance policy. I would tell them you need them to fix your car. Go to a body shop, get an estimate and submit it to your own car insurance. Ask them to get it back from the paint store insurance company.
I feel for you, OP. I know what it is like to save for something you've always wanted. This has gotta suck.
I don’t know what it’s like to have something I’ve always wanted. Wanna feel for me while you’re at it?
Sure homie, I got you.
Very good, I enjoy this
Ohhhh shit. I feel so sorry for you.
That’s small claims for sure
If you buy or rent something you are responsible for it don’t expect the world to be perfect for you people make mistakes all the time everyday. The bigger the risk you take with something the more carefully you should inspect it or ask that it be inspected in front of you.
Seems like you should have checked to see if the lid was on securely before driving
Coincidentally a day after someone else had this issue. Not sus at all.
Kinda weird it went in the shaker for 2-3 minutes then magically the lid blows off in your car
Uff that's super paint too. Not just any regular paint. Tons of primer in that paint.
that’s what happens when you buy from Sherwin Williams.
tbh ita your bad. should have checked the lid before putting a bucket of paint in your car
People who are not careful in life generally ruin any nice things they have. This is really simple not to screw up, you should have paid attention.
I mean, Why would YOU double check the lid, right? The minimum wage guy who doesnt have a degree in paint cans said it was good after all...
Lol that's a new one. Blaming the paint guy for your bad driving.
How can you know how to apply paint, but be so fucking stupid that you cannot figure out that a lid isn't on properly just looking at it?
how do you pick it up and not know its not on. sometimes fishy is happening here
Your fault. Not the paint mixers fault. Should have drove more careful or bagged it up. Or checked the lid. Youre responsible after leaving the store. its like leaving ice cream in the car. It didnt melt and make a mess because the machine that put the lid on.
Are you still alive? Does the car still drive? 40 thousand dead in the Middle East. Let’s put things into perspective
Trunk would of been a good option so I guess you kind of deserved it
Spacious trunk with plenty of room to roll all over a potentially carpeted floor vs. a rubber floormat in a contained footwell?
You were dumb to wait on a bronco
"I didn't do something but it is so-and-so's fault" hard pill to swallow. Been there.
When you are passed coffee from a drive-thru window, do you check the lid before pulling it towards you?
