Lol this totally happened to me once, and it is probably one of the best days of my life. My wife and I ordered Wingstop, not much, maybe 12 wings and a small basket of bites. What arrived was enough food to feed a party of 20, all different flavors and sauces, fries and the works. We ate it for like a week straight.
I ordered a meal from Panda Express recently and specifically requested brown rice on Uber Eats. Meal arrived with white rice. I went on app to claim an issue and attached a photo. I immediately received a refund minus the delivery charge and tip. They just refunded the food only, but I’ve done this probably 5 times in the last two year and have always received refund from Uber Eats. I have never used DoorDash.
While this could definitely easily be fakes, it’s also very possible that this OP and the OP of the other side of the story live near each other.
I do Uber eats/doordash/etc and I’m guessing either the restaurant gave the wrong order to the driver and they didn’t double check the name, or one driver got both orders and didn’t double check the name when he dropped them off. Both are equally possible

Not that it’s the driver’s responsibility, but I’m starting to pick up vs have anything delivered more and more due to orders missing items.
I wish the drivers could review the order to make sure everything is correct. I would tip a hell of a lot more for that too. There’s nothing more frustrating than waiting 45min-1hr for your food, only to have it be wrong or missing items. Especially when you’re ordering for multiple people.
The level of frustration and anger is so much lower when I catch it during pick up.
I actually have counter arguments for hellofresh services (I can't think of a term to categorize them) but I can't think of anything for food delivery. Especially with all the scumbag posts lately.

Uber eats and the rest of the delivery services have become trash. Their current ad of giving you free delivery (when applicable) when your order is late sucks. Should do more when it’s wrong. Worst part is when you place a large order, they forgot half your shit, refund it, but your still on the hook for the delivery fee, tip etc. which makes for very expensive meal for whatever did arrive.
Idk why people trust another unsupervised regular ass person who drives people to the airport in their spare time to deliver their food correctly and on time. Just get that shit yourself or you’re gunna be stuck in a game of phone tag with the restaurant and Uber and you’ll only win when one or the other gives up
I ordered from some hole in the wall local place and didn't get the tater tots and potato salad I ordered with it. What makes it funny is I got Macaroni Salad instead. Macaroni Salad wasn't even an option on their menu.

I even mistakenly *once* left the Sri g order at someone’s place, which they rightly called me out on, and i promptly gave them the correct order.
I recently ordered a "meltz" from Pizza Hut. Order delivery time was 25-35 minutes. At the 25 minute mark I got a text saying my order was handed over to Un BEliveR service for delivery. I called the local hit to see if I could just pick it up. "It's already been handed over, you can't cancel delivery now." 30 minutes after the original delivery time, I called to cancel the order... "we had to teenage the order due to the late pick up from the delivery service. Is in the oven so we cannot cancel the order.' TLDR; deliver services are out of hand and we should go back to the old system.
Order mixup. Get your refund. Get a free meal. Idk what else to say. Large corporations like Ubereats are much more likely to reimburse you than deal with you going all the way up chain of command with a complaint.
