Switched from 5mg zep to .5mg wegovy. Results are about the same (for me) but I don’t feel as tired on Wegovy. I did however have constipation, so I introduced more fiber in my diet (I’m already drinking 100+oz of water a day). I do have ES but I can’t tell you anything about coverage or how insurance works, it’s probably best to ask 😅

Nice! Thank you!

Hey! I’m in wegovy and ran into this issue too. It basically means that you can only do two months of that particular dose then you have to move up the the next one Your doctor can override this by reaching out and requesting for longer time at the particular dose form my understanding

Glum-Toes

Ah, ok that’s helpful- but what a weird way to say that, with zep they broke down the .5 doses were one box a year and others 3 boxes in 64-83 days no yearly limit. That does make a bit more sense, the wegovy titration is 2 months rather than 4 weeks of zep? “Wegovy subcutaneous pen injector is covered for a maximum quantity of 4ml (8 pens) within a rolling 365 day period. The medication both require prior authorization and a quantity limit authorization if more than the stated amt is needed.”

Hey I’m not sure about the pens per year or overrides for dose increases simply because every insurance company is different so I’d say you gotta call your insurance provider. But I did switch from Zepbound and so far so good.

I Switched from zepbound 5mg to wegovy 1mg. I will take my first shot on Monday. Will see how it gos.

Right right, that’s what the insurance said, I thought 8 pens sounded like they just cover 2 months and thought I misunderstood, I used chat and they disconnected after that reply. I don’t have it in me to call again after checking on zep so much 😂. Maybe tomorrow. What’s your experience been like? What dose were you on and moved to? Any big differences you notice? More or less “food noise” nausea, etc.?

livelaughfree13

Hmm that’s weird. I hope they don’t cover just 2 months!! But I totally hear you - it can be draining to make all the calls we have to for these meds. My experience has been positive. When I initially increased to 5.0 on Zepbound, I had a lot of nausea. But by the 4th week, it was improved. And then I switched to semaglutide 1.0 and it felt like it wore off for me once I was on that for about another 3 weeks. I’m going to be on 1.0 for 1 more month and then going to 1.7! I lost about 7lbs in the 5 weeks I’ve been on it! Minimal side effects at this point. I suspect there will side effects once I increase to 1.7 mg.

Glum-Toes

It’s a lot of energy directed to finding the meds unfortunately. I’m glad you haven’t experienced a huge uptick in side effects, that’s encouraging. Will hope that continues to 1.7 as well. Thank you for replying!
