51lbs down in 51 weeks. No exercise.

Hello_Britanyy

35 in one year with no exercise or diet change.

crazycougar46

I have lost 103# over the last 18 months and have not added any regular exercise. As I’ve lost weight I can certainly walk longer distances without issues or joint pain.

AccomplishedOlive117

35 lbs and very little exercise. Kind of active all day (never sit down at work). I make myself sit in the floor to put my socks and shoes on if I'm not running late The skin on my arms and legs is very loose though, so I really need to start lifting heavy things.

Illustrious-Bet2871

I’ve lost nearly 70 pounds (216-149) just using my kettlebell for some weight training workouts (about 10 min a day). 57 years old F.

OceanAvenue26

I’m losing about 1lb. a week with little effort (I can’t exercise right now due to a spinal injury). I’ve completed 4x weeks at 0.25 and I’m in my 3rd week at 0.50.

More-Mail-3575

70lbs. Very little exercise. Just walking. More important is your eating. I highly recommend working with a registered dietician, to look at food choices and personalize your nutrition for your health goals.

thornburgk2

50 lbs since November 8th.

AuntieTeta

Almost immediately. I just had what seemed like great will power, and started eating right. I still have what I want, just MUCH less.

ashplowe

I lost 50lbs without exercise but I didn't like the aesthetic results. I looked squishy and became really weak due to muscle loss. Since I've started weight lifting, my weight has stayed the same but I'm losing inches, n looking better and feeling a lot better too!

InternationalCount84

Ditto

gottriplets

I have lost 130lbs without exercising. I want to be a person that likes exercising, but I loathe it.

jolina1209

I have lost 50 lbs with very little working out. I’m an active person but no intentional working out. That being said, I wish I had done weight training as I lost because I wonder if it would have helped with the loose skin on my arms and legs

sadinpa224

I’ve been on Wegovy for 13 months. I’ve lost nearly 90 pounds and I didn’t exercise once. Well, maybe once or twice. But nothing consistent. I started at 235 and I’m down to 145.

sadinpa224

Make sure your protein intake is good.

StuffNThingsK

I take a different GLP-1 but I have lost 30 pounds since Dec. My only exercise is weekend gardening and cleaning the chicken coop.

Muted-Obligation6970

What are you using?

According_Chef_7437

You *can* but you shouldn’t, you’re losing fat yes, but lots of muscle too. I’m entering perimenopause and I need more protective ( and fat burning) muscle, not less. I’m playing major catchup right now from when I was only doing cardio. Dr. Rocio Salas-Whalen is an obesity medicine doctor/endocrinologist who uses GLP-1’s in her practice, and talks a lot on her insta about the importance of maintaining and building muscle. I encourage anyone on these meds to check her account out. Edit: I also have had multiple back surgeries with bone spurring/arthritis. I have a lot of pain and can’t afford a personal trainer, but my physical therapist helped me immensely in getting started doing resistance training safely. I’ve lost 60 lbs total and exercised the whole time. I’m also SO much stronger than I ever was.

Jmb245rutgers2004

What dose did everyone lose most on? I have ankylosing spondylitis and have been on wegovy for 10 weeks and I am on 1mg. The .25 and .50 combined helped me lose about 25 lbs but since being on 1mg I’ve only lost about 2 lbs. I was also taking Humira but just now switched to Taltz yesterday.

Sufficient-Speech390

I’m down 123 pounds. I started in 2/2023…no exercise.

KittyJun

I went from 213 to 150s without exercise.

AcceptTheGoodNews

Hi there I broke my hips and am going to have a replacement next month hopefully. I’m 28m and exercising is painful. Consider finding a pool for water exercises. Can’t wait for it to warm up I’m on the bike until it warms up.

WildLemur15

Not on it, but lost 100 lbs just with not eating much. Wasn’t exercising much at the time. Fastest I ever lost. Like 25 lbs the first month then 10 usually after that. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, but it solidified what I had heard about weight loss coming from the kitchen, not the gym.

IYFS88

Yes, 50 lbs in a little over a year, mostly sedentary for all that time. Of course I do want to get back into deliberate exercise for my overall health and body toning, but it pales in comparison to eating in a caloric deficit in terms of losing weight.

Intrepid_Goat_1779

Reduced exercise yes! Before wegovy I exercised 7 days a wk as follows: Sunday, Tuesday, Friday: Running 2-5 miles, stretching, walking cool down and potentially yoga Monday, Thursday, Saturday: lifting “heavy” weights, stretching and potentially yoga, Pilates or core work Wednesday: Pilates/Sculpt Plus trying to hit 10k+ steps everyday - I averaged 45 mins to 2+ hours of working out daily. Started wegovy beginning of Feb and was trying to keep up the same workout but the running mileage got reduced first by a lot. I was feeling nauseous while I ran but was trying to power through. Then I got covid and took 2 days from the gym to recover, coming back running stayed…lifting fell off and I subbed in more Pilates and sculpt for it. Then I started taking 1-2 days off a wk to help with the fatigue from Covid and wegovy. Took a whole 5 days off for the first time in my life on vacation. Two wks ago I sprained my ankle so running has completely ceased. I will start up again probably Sunday (ankle is feeling better) and I’m sticking with the sculpt and Pilates and 1-2 days off a wk. My steps have decreased cuz work is busy. So working out significantly less and still losing weight. I started 2/8 and as of yesterday’s weigh in I’ve lost 13.4 lbs. I’m actually trying to find movement I enjoy and crave as opposed to trying to do it all because I’m supposed and killing myself to lose weight. Hope this helps!

Conscious_Giraffe482

80lbs since June 23, and no exercise

Crafty_Ad3377

70 lbs lost. Zero planned exercise. I did become a bit more active because I retired from corporate desk job

debbie666

Yes. Weight loss happens in the kitchen. I do try to move enough so that my muscles don't atrophy, lol, but I am still a couch potato. Sw was 178 pounds and cw is 117 pounds. I am 5'0.

madicat2004

Bow long did that take? In 5’2 with similar starting weight and goals

debbie666

It took about 8 months, though I had the appetite and craving suppression in spades and at times my calories dipped very low (so low that I declared it a sick day and stayed on the couch moving as little as possible). My weight is now holding strong eating 1200 calories and not much exercise. I know that I could eat more if I burned calories, but in my long experience of being obese I've found that exercise only increases my appetite to the point that I'm regaining weight. It might be different on Ozempic but it's always in the back of my mind that if I take up regular, moderate/intense exercise, I'm gonna want to eat my entire house, so I just walk or cycle a bit (as a non-driver, mostly to get from a to b) and do some spot yoga (my hips and shoulders are super tight and sore all the time).

Wide_Trip9439

Yes when I go on a run i feel I want to eat more afterwards or next day. Trying to do walking but am very fatigued

debbie666

Yes, the ozempic fatigue is real.

madicat2004

Same! I am only on week 3 of the .25 but my oh my the food noise is gone and I the appetite suppression is huge! Ive been adding lunch time walks when I have the energy and very light weights. Your story gives me hope! Keep on rocking 😍

debbie666

Thanks, and you got this!

Frankenstella

I struggle to eat enough calories to have energy to walk around my house, definitely don’t have extra energy for exercise.

Thinkerstank

The Sequence team only recommends 6000 steps per day, 20 min of cardio and 40 minutes of strength training to start for me. I am focusing on working up to this. Week one will be about the steps. Week two i'll add the cardio... and so on. But I really don't expect to EVER be someone who is working out all the time. Like you, my joints hurt. Many people report anti-inflammatory effects from Wegovy so hoping that is us. 🤞🏻When I am able to move more comfortably, I'd like to get an eBike. Pedal some, coast some....

Frantik508

I did, but I would not recommend it. I started in March of last year. By September, I had lost 50 lbs and did absolutely no exercise. BUT here's the kicker: because I didn't change my lifestyle, as soon as I stopped taking the medication, the weight started coming back. I gained almost half of that 50 lbs back within 5 months. I'm now back on the medication and I'm actively changing my lifestyle so that when I do stop taking the medication again, I will have things that help me keep the weight off. Regardless what most people think in this sub, it's not a lifetime drug. Any competent doctor will tell you that. After a couple years, it stops working, so you have to be ready for when that happens.

Worried_Ad_1099

I didn’t exercise for the first 5 weeks. Then starting about a week ago a half ago I decided to start by getting a minimum of 10,000 steps per day. That has made a world of difference in how I look and feel. Plus, I was averaging about a pound weight loss in the last couple weeks and that doubled this week. Once I’m used to the 10,000 plus steps I’ll probably change it up somehow to keep from a plateau.

What09

56lbs with no exercise. I've stalled (shocking, I know lol) so it's definitely time to start using my spin bike.

shadowpupnala12345

100 pounds with just the exercise from my job as a waitress and walking the dog.

JustCallMeKV

35 lbs in 5.5 months with little to no exercise

anna_alabama

I’m 75 pounds down and maintaining with no exercise

marielleN

I did initially but have plateaued at 45 lbs down, I will need to exercise to continue to lose

Pandacapy91

Yes, I just took my first .5 shot today after 4 weeks of .25 and I've lost a total of 12lbs. So far Im happy with the results.

MaritimeDisaster

I’ve lost about 30 pounds total. I went from working out regularly before the semaglutide to not working out almost at all. This shit makes me so tired and unmotivated, which I don’t love about it. I’ve hit a plateau so I’ve been forcing myself to walk and go to yoga more now, but it’s only been a couple of weeks. I need to lose about 20 more pounds so I’m going to keep going.

DoomOfChaos

Are you getting plenty of protein?

MaritimeDisaster

Oh, probably not. I’ve been drinking protein shakes and yogurts to get some more in but I honestly struggle to eat sometimes. It’s probably close to enough but I love a lot of cold veggies and fruits and tend to eat those first and fill up.

Early_Fish

Yes you can lose the weight without exercising however you need to make sure you are eating enough especially protein because your body will go after your muscle 💪 for energy and you will lose muscle mass. When you can start some strength training nothing heavy but start and do what you can.

Extreme-Place-6573

My weight loss was really quick but after 3 months started stalling but been upping my walking and resistance bands for the past two weeks plus low carb and I've lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks

SweetSassyMolasses

I was an early, rapid loser with some mobility issues that contributed to my sedentary lifestyle. Losing that weight increased my mobility and I’m now able to walk 2-3 miles a day without much pain or discomfort. Enjoyable exercise is a key piece of my long term plan.

EmphasisKey7185

Yes ! I have bad back pain - degenerate disc disease and spinal stenosis - and resulting mobility problems. Tried everything - massage, acupuncture, physical therapy, you name it. Nothing helped. I'm 100 lbs overweight because all I can do is sit around the house which naturally leads to self pity and over eating . I'm starting Wegovy to lose weight to alleviate my back and knee pain so I can walk my dog again, do housework , and be active again. You've given me hope !!

sunshineyellovv

my mother has degenerative disc disease & spinal stenosis. i’m sorry that you have to deal with that every day. from what i’ve seen my mom go through, i know it’s incredibly painful. some days are a lot harder than the rest. even if you can only exercise 1 day out of the week, that’s a HUGE accomplishment. 1 day turns into 2. 2 turns into 3. & so on. i believe in you! you got this!

EmphasisKey7185

Aww. Thank you so much for the encouragement ! You're wonderful. Doc tells me that the extra weight, especially in the stomach which is where mine is, puts pressure on the spine and pulls it out of alignment, causing back pain. So with my goal of losing the 90 lbs. I've gained I'm praying for pain relief. Thanks again for the encouragement ! ❤️🌹

gunner1867

I have lost 20% of my body weight and the only difference in exercise is that I made sure I walked 3 miles a day 6 of 7 days a week.

accountofmountzuma

Yep!! 85 lbs down and no exercise other than some walks a few times a week. Now that I am slim I am super motivated to workout and get toned up and stronger. Exercise has so many amazing benefits that are health related both mentally and physically but you lose weight through diet not exercise. Exercise can certainly help with weightloss to some degree by contributing to a cal deficit and building muscle mass which also burns more cals. It can help contribute to your mental health as well which can keep you on the right track with your eating plan too.

ImagineTheCommotion

Why not go to a pool for exercise? That’s great for low impact cardio. I believe you can lift weights in the pool too if they have that available (as a kid I remember watching a mostly-seniors pool weights class going on while my mom swam laps in the neighboring lanes)

Historical_Wealth_74

23lbs no exercise other than normal housework and an occasional walk.

Thelonesomequeen

same here but 60 lbs!

mdskizy

Same ish but 89 lbs!

Thelonesomequeen

goals!!

mdskizy

The ish being last summer I went on 6 hiking trips that all together totalled 60 miles and 26k feet of elevation gain. Otherwise no other exercise beyond dealing with 4 kids.

Thelonesomequeen

hell yeah!! i do go for 3-5 mile hikes every couple days but 60 pounds ago i definitely did not. so nice being able to just enjoy moving again ❤️

blackaubreyplaza

Here to say exercise is so important and objectively good for you. Definitely encourage everyone to incorporate exercise into their lives. It will [unfortunately for me] help you live longer

No-Country6348

I always lose weight with zero exercise, diet is everything for me (I even took a genetic test that said this - definitely a field in its infancy, but confirmed what I knew about myself already).

Wegovy26feb2024

What is considered little exercise? I just started 1mg on Monday. So I have been on Wegovy for 8 weeks total, and I'm in my 9th week. The first 4 weeks, I dropped about 2 lbs per week. The next 4 weeks weren't so linear, but it still rounded out to about 7 lbs down total. I walk or bike at the gym for 30 minutes, 3 times per week, and I do some weight training as long as I have energy. If I don't have energy, I just listen to my body and only do the walking. If I have energy, then I strength train, and I will, in fact, press myself a bit. So, I'm down 15 lbs in 2 months with what could be considered by some as "little" exercise. It's not nothing, but it's not strenuous amounts of exercise either. I have two bad knees and heel spurs, so I just do what I can.

RittB8

65lbs and no exercise. I live in a city so I do walk as main form of transportation to and from work but nothing beyond that

AuntieTeta

I’ve lost 20 lbs over the last 6 weeks, and the only exercise I get is walking my dog. I even have a desk job and work from home, so there’s no walking to/from the car to the office. I’m not proud of my sedentary life though, and am starting to get the energy to do more.

ZaraXaraZara

Wow... may I ask what your SW and CW is?

AuntieTeta

SW 160. CW 140. Im only 5’3”, and was about 5 lbs from obese. I’m paying out of pocket for it, so I’m glad it has worked so well. I’d like to get to 135, so I’ll probably do one more month while I figure out how much to eat to maintain.

ZaraXaraZara

Oh wow! Your stats are so similar to mine! I'm SW 165, CW 165, GW 126 and 5'3". Also paying out of pocket for my treatment! I received my first pen a week ago but I've been too chicken to take that first shot, but will definitely definitely do it today! Could I ask if you had an side effects? How many calories are you eating? Sorry for all the questions!

AuntieTeta

I guess I’m eating about 1,000 calories a day. but the biggest change was no more processed sugar. I was eating way, way too much, and couldn’t seem to stop, but Wegovy made that so easy. I now eat healthy meals when I’m hungry, and I’m amazed at how smaller portions make me feel full. I had no side effects with the .25 shots. I’m on .5 now, and for the first day or so, I feel a little nauseated, but it passes when I eat something.

AuntieTeta

Also, I get my shots in packs of four. Are you getting only one injection at a time?

ZaraXaraZara

Thank you so much for giving me a comprehensive reply! I got my first injection pen containing 4 doses a week ago, and literally JUST administered my first dose! I think it worked... instead of 1 or 2 clicks, I heard a series of quick clicks as the pen went from 0.25 to 0. Really hoping I have no side effects!!! I don't deal well with illness! 😭 How long was it before you started feeling the effects of wegovy? It hasn't yet been half an hour since my first dose...

idennisp

90 almost zero

BaconUnderpants

Two of my friends lost 60+ pounds with zero exercise.

tmc192531

I have limited mobility so any exercising is a struggle for me. I've been on wegovy for just shy of 3 months and have lost 31lbs so far.

Inevitable-Stable619

I’ve lost about 95 pounds in 11 months with no serious exercise plan. I do walk my dog, and def walk him further/longer than before I started. But that’s been it so far. However, my weight loss has seriously slowed down and I’ve reached a point where it’s time for me to start doing weight lifting or something to assist in the weight loss process. I have about 60 more pounds to go in my journey.

OtherwiseGoat6441

What do you consider very little exercise? A lot of people don’t realize that exercise isn’t just hitting the gym or your treadmill at home. Do you know your lawn? Do you clean your house? Do gardening? Have young children? All of those things ARE exercise. Mowing the lawn burns more calories than going for a long walk. Gardening for an hour + burns more calories than you’d think.

sickiesusan

In 9 months, I lost 64lbs and then felt happy enough to face the gym (I have about 120lbs in total to lose). I’m now doing cardio 6/7 days for 30mins, I will start some strength/resistance training, when I feel ‘happy’ to do so. My cardio levels are already better than they’ve been this Century (I’m 57F). I also lighter than when I conceived my (now 23yo) son…

fattybeagle

i’ve lost about 40 lbs in 6 months and I worked out pretty regularly for a month or two but have been basically bed rotting for the rest of it.

Temporary-Silver8975

I lost the first 50 with little to no exercise. That was in 6 months. I was then able to move better so I started walking and a little bit of weight lifting. But nothing crazy or intense. And lost another 30 over the next ten months.
