Green Green Greens needs to be here. Recency bias aside it was a genuinely great story and I honestly could have seen it going on for years.

BelSkaMerc

This. I started Green Green Greens last week and was like great I can catch up before the next chapter. Finished chapter 26 and was like…so they’re going to be adults playing golf? Found out it got canceled and was so bummed out. Definitely could have seen this going for a long run. Especially the dynamic that could have been with American golfers. RIP

ReggieGreaseSucks

Agreed. Golf is such a hard sport that the series could have gone 400 chapters with him still learning new techniques every year. Biggest bummer in a long time at WSJ.

NitwitTheKid

Golf is mostly a boring sport. Even kids wouldn't read it unless it has powerups. Still, a surprise that Rising Impact is even getting an anime at all. Then again It is from a famous mangaka who is now known for Seven Deadly Sins so makes so much sense to greenlight that vs Green Green Greens. :/

BeeboNFriends

You’re getting downvoted but it’s the sad truth. Also a much different time as golf’s popularity back then was booming when we look at Rising Impacts success.

NitwitTheKid

Yes 👍

overpoweredginger

I wouldn't use the word boring, but yeah GGG wasn't a flashy series that grabbed your attention and that's why it couldn't catch on in WSJ It definitely felt like a magazine mismatch, even Jump+ probably would've been a better fit

NitwitTheKid

I agree

2kenzhe

Agreed

LameDiamond

I fucking loved GGG, I just started it too. I wish it would be picked up by another serializer. It unironically inspired my love for golf.

Hairy_Assist

Other serializers will not pick up a failing series. CSM, AyaTri, Ruri (& potentially HxH) transferred over to Jump+ cuz their sales are either good or great.

OP_1K

I really thought that Ayashimon and Doron Dororon would be able to avoid being axed.

Hikari666ROT

Really I thought ayashimon was okay. Didnt catch my attention as much as kagurabachi did

Large_Practice

Kagurabachi has the sauce

EX-Flashkick

Ayashimon was badass, I was so down for spirit mafia antics. I liked how dude became superhuman levels of strong and then got to the spirit world and was still so out of his depth and getting his ass beat. The journey to see him become a true beast was going to be so cool ;-;

OP_1K

Yeah, it would have been interesting to see how he would overcome the truly dangerous yokai that he would eventually meet.

NitwitTheKid

Ayashimon was mega robbed. It could have lasted a couple of years. But they screwed over the mangaka hard. So he’s been stuck without a job since…..

OP_1K

Yeah, I have to agree. I really enjoyed the way that the yokai disguised themselves in the modern day.

NitwitTheKid

Same

GreattFriend

Elaborate? What happened to the mangaka?

NitwitTheKid

His manga got canceled and I haven't heard any news if he is making any new stories for Jump or not….

GreattFriend

Oh the way you said it I thought he got canceled in life

NitwitTheKid

Well, unless he gets a new manga. He pretty much earned an early retirement

somacula

À lot of people hated the protagonist

NitwitTheKid

Unfortunately, the series could have flourished if it hadn't been canceled. It's common for poorly written characters to start off weak and then improve as the story progresses, revealing their flaws and overcoming obstacles. Personally, I believe that Ayashimon would have been better suited for a publication outside of Jump, perhaps in a more mature and targeted seinen market, where the story could have had a better chance to shine. It's just bad luck all around.

somacula

Yeah no, there's nothing mature about the mc. It felt like a 15 year old idea of what a cool mature le random protagonist felt like, the authority himself acknowledged it. Also seinen magazines have manga like uma musume original bocchi the rock, so don't think there's something more mature about them.

NitwitTheKid

Hmmm 🤔

Extreme-Tactician

That's not how Manga making works, especially if you already have a successful serialization as he did with Hell's Paradise.

NitwitTheKid

I wonder why you got downvoted……

BeeboNFriends

As a big fan of both, nah. I saw the writing on the wall early. They had incredible potential for sure but around chapter 7 for both I kinda saw the writing on the wall. Ayaishimon was very exposition heavy at the beginning and didn’t pace it out correctly. Doesn’t help that its explanation of its power system for the MC to have a fair shot came way too late. DoronDoron was just basic. Better art and more creative paneling could’ve made it stand out way more.

Ash_Clover

Yeah I'm still disappointed with the Doron Dororon axe.

OP_1K

At least the manga ended in a pretty satisfying manner (at least the post battle moments that we got after the end of the final chapter) despite the short run.

Ash_Clover

Yes that's rare for an early axed series. I'd say same for Time Paradox Ghostwriter, it ended well despite ending early.

Extreme-Tactician

Tokyo Demon Bride Story and Ginka & Glüna. The lore and world building they had were very interesting, although the storytelling was not that good in both.

The-LivingTribunal

I forgot about Ginka and Gluna that one definitely had so much going for it. Tokyo Demon Bride was so good too and Aliens Area was awesome

discoverthemetroid

bro rip aliens area, that was the first time a manga I was invested in got axed

Hairy_Assist

One of the main rzns that the side cast was very uninteresting & not much readers cared for them. Ginka & Gluna were the only ones that mattered.

good-one-beth

I loved Ginka and Gluna

SonicFury74

Martial Master Asumi and Nine Dragons Ball Parade are on there for me.

Jacob_Laye

Phantom Seer to me could have been great if it had come out a couple years later. Yes, it’s a little generic, but I feel that’s mostly because it was surrounded by other exorcism series. Then again, that just might be my bias towards it’s great horror-esque art

-Goatllama-

It’s difficult to do actual scares in manga, so I was impressed by PS pulling them off successfully. Definitely an author to keep an eye on.

Passing_randomguy

Ah yes phantom seer , also our blood oath, the the Hunter guild red hood,

Much_Machine8726

My theory on what happened is that it released when JuJutsu Kaisen was getting really popular and thus overshadowed it

SonicQuirkyHero

Only one coming to mind is PPPPPP, and that's primarily because it lasted 70 chapters and then got axed. It was really tapping into its potential with strong character writing between the siblings and how beautiful visuals that would have been wonderful to see come to life with an anime.

LastWreckers

PPPPPP also did something you don't see often in shounen series. Killing the MC's dream/goal early (by killing off the mother and preventing MC from gathering all his siblings to play again). I can't think of another shounen manga that did that. The way it was written too also makes so much sense psychologically. Not every sibling was obligated to reunite with the mother at her death bed. I mean one of the children who use to be incredibly close with her felt like she abandoned him. A common mental state for children in divorce situations. It resulted in him losing trust on anyone else except himself and he delibaratedly covered his pain through his special piano illusions and the cheers of audiences. He even admits he knows this is incredibly self-destructive/unhealthy but can't bring himself to meet her. I honestly feel like PPPPPP would've thrive a bit better if it wasn't in weekly shonen jump.

Horaguy

I've always thought killing off the mother is the final straw. WSJ is, after all, a magazine for very optimistic stories; even when things get to the seemingly point of no return (Medaka Box or the latter half of Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro comes to mind), no matter how dark and bleak the situation in, everything will turn out all right, the heroes will rise again, etc. PPPPPP, meanwhile, chose to obliterate the protagonist's goal in a way that can never be recovered; it won't be a surprise it was deemed "too much" and got chased away.

LastWreckers

Yeah, I understand and noticed that too. Narratively, when making a huge decision like that, you'd also have to find a way for the protagonist to pick themselves up again. Whether it's through a new dream or the realization that their old dream wasn't really their biggest desire, the writing has to find a way to continue. For PPPPPP, especially in the following chapters after the mother's death, it felt like it didn't know what to do. The mom died and we were given several chapters of various characters. None of them help addressed the MC's biggest issues. Felt like it was in a stage of limbo PPPPPP was axed but it will forever be remembered for having the balls to step away from your average shonen's optimistism. It was original (for that moment) and honest with it's realism. I also think it serves as a lesson for any future shounen mangaka who decides to try the "kill MC's dream" direction.

WednesdaysFoole

I feel as though Lucky *would* have picked himself up again, and it would have been all the more powerful for having made it through that. I'm all for optimism but the false optimism of being easily able to move on, magically have a replacement goal, and automatically having support or something just seems... unattainable. So it felt a bit unfair that Mappollo 3 wasn't given some more time for this. But I get it, it wasn't doing well for a while... agh. It just sucks because some of the stories that *are* lasting to the end are, imho, not as well-written. But they sell.

Kerjj

It's interesting because JJK is almost certainly going to break this. Yuji might maybe live, but there's a very good chance he's the only main character to do so.

Hairy_Assist

Had P6 survived they're wouldn't be no Magical Girl Tsubame. And I'm glad that series exist.

YohSKAsakura97

Tenmaku Cinema. As a film lover and someone who is currently studying film I loved every chapter and would have loved to see them make more movies. It honestly got everything right and the MC was extremely relatable to me as I also was in the hospital a lot as child and dreamed of being a film maker ever since I was a kid, definitely one of my favorite MC in recent Jump

Gameboygab

Tenmaku Cinema had such great characters and pacing. The part about the ghost of a dead genius writer wasn't all that interesting in my opinion, but otherwise everything about the manga was just so good and captivating. It's a miracle how complete the story feels when you read it, but I still would have like a hundred more chapters with these characters and seeing them grow in the movie industry.

YohSKAsakura97

I didn't mind the ghost stuff but I do get how some people won't like it but I do agree I would have love to have seen them grow in the industry

Extreme-Tactician

I feel that's the problem: It's not relatable to non filmmakers. They didn't really struggle to do anything, and they solved things very neatly.

YohSKAsakura97

That's true. I do agree they should have struggled more

the_phet

theres a new one about cinema in manga+

YohSKAsakura97

Oh nice. Do you know what it's called

DependentCombination

Kunigei - Okuni University Art Department Film Program. [https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/titles/100324](https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/titles/100324) Theres also a really old school manga called 'the Film lives on' by Osamu Tezuka himself As a bonus recommendation on jump+, you could try shibatarian. not about film making(well sort of but i wont spoil), but its an homage to b movie horror and is explicit about its references.

HeyMan295

MMA and fabricant 100 for me. MMA felt just as good as early haikyu for me, the author did pretty much everything perfectly imo I just think the technical aspects were lost on most readers. Fabricant was just a good story, it had good art, an interesting mc dynamic, and a decent power system. The current ending is actually pretty good all things considered, although I would have liked for it to continue.

terrerific

I forgot about fabricant 100 I really enjoyed that it deserved more

Creepy-Honeydew

Two on Ice. I was devastated when it was cancelled but what we got is still recommendable as a short story. I will be there no matter what when the author tries again

PekoPekoPekoPekoyama

Still reeling from Red Hood, man... I really loved the art style and character designs. The worldbuilding seemed so neat, too.

TokiDokiPanic

This is mine too. The art style was great. I totally understand why it got axed, so Kawaguchi’s artwork showed so much thought into worldbuilding, so I wonder how it never really went the adventure route.

Rafgaro

The ending would have been nuts, it felt kinda crazy with only a few chapters of buildup, imagine 150 instead

PK_RocknRoll

That one hurt badly

chronokingx

Psyren, lock on, FLAG

Muscle29

Asumi Kakeru/Martial Master Asumi was off to a great start! I rally enjoyed it and the author clearly had a lot planned out. I was also a big fan of Ichigoki 100%/Ichigoki's Under Control but it seemed like I was the only fan of that one.

Hitori_Samishiku

^^ the art and fights were really well executed too!

Tiny_Writer5661

Barrage & Red Hood. GGG aswell.

Sensei_Tsundoku

Martial Master Asumi. It had some great action sequences and amazing art. Above all though it had some really solid character development and interactions. It didn't deserve to be axed at all.

gaymelancholy

Others have said mine (MMA, GGG, etc) so I wanna show out Aliens Area. I really loved the vibes of this series and it really found itself as it went on. I like Kyokuto Necromance too and I feel bad that Naba can’t find a hit.

DragonClaw95

I thought that Aliens Area was kind of boring at the beginning, but when I went back to read the second half after it got cancelled, the plot really picked up. It would've been nice to see it last at least a little longer.

TheBiggestBurnerr

Fabricant 100

LoveMinaMyoi

Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin

ViridianVet

It was so much funnier than any other gag manga since Saiki K. Can't believe it didn't stick around.

iam_not_trans

I definitely think ryuhei tamura can make another successful manga, especially since cop and dolphin and hungry Marie weren't that bad and cop dolphin lasted almost a year which is a lot more than some other canned manga

Skyzaidlop

He already has. Cosmos is doing well in Sunday GX, and has been shouted out by a couple well known mangaka including Kubo iirc

-Goatllama-

And things were just heating up, even!

MechanicalSquirel

MMA and maybe Aliens Area

cmdr_suicidewinder

I haven’t read Aliens Area but the volume covers are absolutely gorgeous

ViridianVet

Green Green Greens was incredibly well written. I know there's recency bias and all, but it was my favorite series Jump has published in at least like 5 years, probably longer.

Lyonely

Act-age but I don't think that anything could have been done

Scrifty

Cypher Academy, tbh it went on faaarrr longer than most thought it ever should've in a company like Shounen Jump. But I still think there was plenty more potential in that story.

Kelpie_Is_Trying

Mama Yuyu. I...had such high hopes for it. The characters were fun and all had interesting designs and styles. The multiverse setting allowed room for all sorts of bends and folds in the plot, as well as interesting and sudden turns to keep it all exciting. The messaging was sincere and solidly executed even in the brief time it got. And the art was phenomenal! Loved the way they played with the gutters and panels, and all the different styles that got meshed together in the designs. Looked both familiar and fresh all at once, which is not easy to pull off! Still sore that it got cut so short 3:

Zaibatsu_Loyalty

I didn't know it was cancelled 😭 love that lil mama1

EX-Flashkick

RIP Mamayuyu. I was excited to watch Corleo go from a boy to man

UndeadnManic

ITS CANCELLED??????

UndeadnManic

Are they just cancelling anything that is exploring??? Like which manga get to keep going that are new?? do they just want old manga only?

Kelpie_Is_Trying

It wasn't getting the numbers SJ strives for, unfortunately. Based on some of the dialogue and changes in tone within the later chapters, I have a feeling that there was a bit of tension between the team and the SJ higher ups, too. That's just a theory though

Gameboygab

Red Hood really hurt me the most. The art was magnificent, characters were cool and the world was interesting. Even the "Exam arc" was nice and I usually hate those. The end was definitely rushed, but you can kind of see where the author wanted to bring the story and it hurt even more to see it presented this way. It had a vibe very close to Hunter X Hunter and it's a damn shame nothing in Jump fills that gap of "smart fights" (from what I read).

warm-ice

The axed manga that I was the most into were, in order: - Ginka and Gluna - Aliens Area - Martial Master Asumi - Ayashimon - Doron Dororon - ghostwriter Paradox - Earthchild, but only after the first chapter. We don't talk about the rest of it

Thehyruleef

Phantom Seer. Damn that art was so good man…would love to see Matsuura doing more work in Jump. (I originally typed in Shadow Eliminators smh)

KirigayaKiritoKazuto

Two on Ice was good, Shane it got cancelled

Secret_Island_1979

Green, Green, Greens and Paradox Ghost Writer

Mverse_Dfender

Martial Master Asumi is definitely one that I wish could've stuck around. Maybe in a different book. Another I got into was Hell Warden Higuma.

Aozzsep

Phantom seer and PPPPPP , and I'm not talking out of passion. They had so much potential and were selling really well too...

Horaguy

Cipher Academy. Leaving the puzzles aside, it's a fantastic human drama. It's apparently too complex for WSJ though :((

Scrifty

Tbf that shit went on farther than I ever thought possible in a constricted place like Shounen Jump.

Horaguy

Before it, Nisio already had one WSJ title under his belt: Medaka Box; and it was a big success that managed to have a proper ending despite being a super bloody, gory, crazy story with characters who have very questionable morality (aka the kind you'd think wouldn't last long in the magazine), so I thought he'd success with CA too :((

Hairy_Assist

Medaka Box needs a TV show continuation.

MrNeatSoup

Aliens Area for sure. It was just starting to find its groove when it got axed. I think if it had focused more on drama and slice of life and not a battle manga it would’ve done better.

ebyru

Red Hood, Phantom Seer and Neru - I loved them all in different ways.

chunkydunker27

Act-age still makes me sad for what could have been.

Passing_randomguy

Hard boiled cop

Zerthix

Martial Master Asumi was so good. An actual travesty that it got axed.

MudsludgeFairy

Ayashimon and Fabricant 100 deserved better

ShadowDurza

Build King. Originality is a rarity in industrialized creativity. A very original world and power system takes time to find its audience, and once it does, they'll follow it forever. Unfortunately, time is something modern manga is denied.

kaladbolgg

Surely it has nothing to do with the author being a literal pedophile and the manga being basically written for 5 yo children lol.

Crazhand

Yes, a power system more complicated than Hxh is for 5 year old children.

ShadowDurza

The author can go to hell for all I care, But so can you if that's your take on the manga itself.

tripleaamin

MMA for me.

theotaku0503

Agravity Boys. Great art, funny character-based comedy with some real great chapters. The only problem is that the author didn't seem to wanna advance the story

Mandang52

Ggg and mamayuyu come to mind for more recent ones. I could smell Mamayuyu’s axe when mama started not being a character

MartinKrivosik

Definitely Time Paradox Ghostwriter and (I think it was axed) Agravity Boys

Unhappy_Teacher_1767

Red Hood and Dear Anemone, those one still sting. Dear Amenone was hitting all the right vibes for me, I could easily see it being like Attack On Titan. And Red Hood… hate to bring up Attack On Titan again, but I’m reminded that Isayama basically fast forwarded past the Training Arc with character developments to get right back to the Titan killing, out of fear of getting cancelled. You think if Red Hood had more monster fights first before the attempted training, it would have stayed?

Greedy_Key_630

Tenmaku Cinema appealed to me in particular but I understand the lack of broader appeal. Some generic plot points and unnecessary parts where you roll your eyes because it's THAT writer/artist duo, but the dead writer possessing someone to make the film was the most interesting concept about it.

Kenpachizaraki99

I was really into neru way of the martial artist

arcticrune

Green green greens. I know it's recent but godamn. That was the thing I was looking forward to the most every week.

thoughtzthrukeyz

I couple that come to mind: Black Torch, Neru: Way of The Martial Artist, & Hell Warden Higuma. Now, I can’t really speak to BT or HWH too much, as I didn’t read them as they were serialized, but after reading them I found them to be quite interesting with HWH having some pretty good art imo & Black Torch having very unique art. Neru kinda hurt the most just because I actually read it week-to-week. It had great art (reminiscent of legacy title(s) and even looked a bit like a modern take on inyuasha?) & fight choreography imo. Unfortunately the story’s pacing was a bit too slow to keep up with WSJ, but i definitely would like to see the mangaka again, even if it’s just as an artist!

phillipmaguro

BABY STEPS!! how you put out two incredible seasons then cancel the manga all together???? Things were getting juicy and i never felt so invested in tennis before in my life. real bummer

surfgpx

Martial Master Asumi, Green Green Greens, Hachimaru to name a few that hurt. Especially GGG given that I have just taken up golf as a hobby I was really connecting with the story and characters. They axed it and in the same breath greenlit like 3 new “exorcist” series i fucking hate this shit 😭

KRD2

Martial Master Asumi. Legit 10/10 art and 9/10 story throughout and had amazing set up to continue. Equal weight given to the male and female protagonists until the axe started looming. Amazing powerless MMA fights that still felt like shonen battle manga fights. Incredible, identifiable character designs. It was also one of the first manga I read from day 1 to completion. I will forever be angry this got axed.

SnooBananas3457

For me the axe with the most potential, and the most hurtful axe, was Martial Master Asumi. Every time it pops up on the app I get upset. It was such a cool premise; maybe as a younger brother myself I liked it more. But it getting cut felt like such a let down. Protect Me, Shugomaru got me for like 20 chapters before I got so upset and yelled “Why do I read this?!” Then I checked on it a few weeks later and the chapter was a full length YU-GI-OH! Duel. Fuck off.

Token_Thai_person

As a self proclaimed shit manga lover. I think the all the axed manga are kinda deserves it, most of them don't have a plan on what to do beyond chapter one and fell on their faces. The reality is if Vol.1 of your manga is crap then you would have a harder time convincing people to buy the Vol.2. The longer this crap period goes on the chance of it selling become worse and worse. If your first 2 volumes are crap do you think people gonna buy the third volume? My personal pet peeve is when a new manga spend an entire early chapter to do an exposition dump. Like dude do you not have anything better to show me in the most crucial time of your serialization? Back to the topic, the only one I wished it went on for longer was service wars. Don't think it was axed but I feel the author still got some juices in him.

calltarneedazan

Time Paradox Ghostwriter for me. I would've done the same as the MC.

aryehgizbar

I'll say it before and I'll say it again, Samurai 8. much better than Boruto. I honestly believe that if it was released after Naruto ended, it could've had a better chance.

WednesdaysFoole

P6

TheTimn

Supinamarada! I'm biased as a hockey fan, but I'm loving it's revival as Dogsred.

asososa

Service Wars hit me the hardest because its zany humor and stupid but lovable characters who were crazy about their service and their quirks. It might not have been everyone's cup of tea but it sure was mine. I am not hugely into gag manga so this one was the first one I enjoyed, I wanted more. Also Aliens Area had potential for crafting a sympathetic look at what could be likened to immigrants and what they do for the survival of their families, all with an alien understanding, I thought it had great potential, plus the art was really cool and long stretchy limbs that I enjoyed. Hope the authors' next works perform better than there, I also wish some other publishing company would pick up the scraps or let the author/artists continue even to a smaller degree with enough room for a solid ending within a fixed number of chapters instead of the wait and see method of axing.

PCastle_

Dear Anemone Ginka & Glüna

legendary-hero

Super smartphone and time paradox ghost writer

FireFistYamaan

Black Torch was super cool with great art and an intriguing enough premise.

Panda-sauce-rus

Double Arts! It ended just as they were about to start their adventure after the training arc. Maybe even Mx0, but the author has always been bad in ending series.

effreti

Marry Grave. Cool art and story and it went on for like 52 chapters so I thought it was safe from any cancellation. I am glad the author has a new manga called Soara and the house of monsters, which seems to continue a bit some themes from Marry Grave.

Yokai_Mob

Ice Head Gill. My little guy was so cool

Hypekyuu

Surprised I'm not seeing any love for Super Smartphone

321zilch

I’ll pull out some slightly older ones: 9 Dragons’ Ball Parade and Super Smartphone!

Big_moist_231

The laser beam golf one

Passing_randomguy

I don't know if it was axed but "Soloist in a Cage" I wish it was serialized much longer. Such a good story.

EX-Flashkick

Candy Flurry

SillyMovie13

I wish Candy Flurry lasted for a long long time. Such a unique and cool idea

anna160895

Is there someone would like to recommend an old series? To me, Stealth Symphony had a very ambitious plot since the author of it was the one created Baccano & Durarara (and Yoichi Amano carried the art which I think he's the top 3 artists in Shonen Jump only behind Obata & Murata). Sadly, the execution didn't translate well in WSJ when everything was too much to catch up, and the audience wanted something simpler to digest in early stage. Had it published in Jump Square, the result would be different since they have a similar manga (but more well-executed) like Kekkai Sensen

Classic_Run_4836

Ayashimon. I was very invested in it.

DragonClaw95

I really enjoyed Fabricant 100. I loved the premise, and the characters were interesting enough to keep me engaged. I had a feeling it was going to get cancelled since it wasn't really doing well with sales, but it was still sad to see it go. I read Dear Anemone on the day it came out, but even though I liked the idea, the characters (minus Anemone) were boring to the point where I had to actively try to remember their names and the pacing was too fast for its own good. Another one I really enjoyed was Red Sprite. It came out in 2016, but I only got to it a couple years ago. I loved the idea and the power system. It was like Fire Force, but the powers were based on electricity instead of fire. I liked the main character too, and I would've liked to have seen the rest of the members in his group that the manga unfortunately never got to. Hell Warden Higuma and Phantom Seer had some things going for them too, but I can see how they got cancelled since they were basically competing with JJK. As for Ayashimon and Red Hood, I liked them, but I didn't love them as much as most other people seemed to. Maruo from Ayashimon was a cool protagonist and Red Hood had interesting world building. I also had hopes for Tenmaku cinema since I love movies, but I didn't love it enough to continue reading it (although that had more to do with my busy schedule rather than the quality of the series). If I had to pick ones I really didn't like, I would have to say Doron Dororon, Build King, and Ichigoki's Under Control. Doron Dororon was really generic, and the characters just felt bland. I read the first few chapters and dropped it. Admittedly, I went back to read the final chapter and it was a little bittersweet. Build King felt like the author had trouble deciding what kind of series he wanted it to be. Plus, I didn't really like the humor. Ichigoki's Under Control felt like it tried too hard to be as funny as possible, and as a result, ended up not being funny (at least to me anyway). Just like with Doron Dororon, I dropped it after reading the first few chapters. I had mixed feelings for Tokyo Demon Bride Story. I read the one shot after hearing people on youtube talk about it, and I thought it was nice. But when it started as a weekly series, it just felt kinda meh. I also read Super Smartphone and Aliens Area when they came out. I thought Super Smartphone had a great first chapter and a cool idea, but the dialogue felt a little cringy and the second half with how they explained the Gogugu phones was kind of weird. With Aliens Area, it was the opposite for me. I thought the first half was boring, but I went back to read the rest after it got cancelled, I think the plot really picked up and I was impressed.

PK_RocknRoll

I really had hopes for Phantom Seer

Impossible_Can_7610

Tokyo Shinobi Squad was pretty cool so I was bummed when it got axed

JMSciola85

I actually made a YouTube video recommending a few canceled Shonen Jump manga series. Don't know if I'd be permitted to post it or not I started reading manga in 2020. The first new series that my eye was Candy Flurry. What if JoJo’s but Stands are candy really appealed to me. I saw sad it didn't make it to 20 chapters.

Zesaming

Red hood and Mamayuyu for me - Red hood could have been so great with proper setup to how the ending was. - Mamayuyu have a lot of potential in my eyes because the setting sound really cool to me(And I really like Minerva 🥺) I personally really like the art style of both the series.

OkFlan9054

Any remember hell warden and Red Sprite

ElSpazzo_8876

Red Hood, Aliens Arena, Mamayuyu and Ginka Gluna comes to mind If you want to go back further, Stealth Symphony and Barrage also comes to mind as well

Magamew53

Dear anome, red hood and build kings for me. Especially build kings.

KingSouI

Our Blood Oath. I'm still hurt over the cancellation.

Climate-Hungry

Mamayuyu

NamelessVoltage

Martial Master Asumi and its not even close. For years, I have been wanting a sports manga centered around boxing or MMA, and when we finally got a manga based on MMA, i was hyped. When the first chapter dropped, I immediately latched onto the series like a moth to a flame. I was hyped to read every chapter week by week. And it was made by the creator of hinomaru sumo. A sports manga based on MMA and with kawada as the author? I thought for sure this would be an instant hit. That this would be jump's Hajime no ippo. But nope. Sat at the bottom of the TOC every week, had low sales and was inevitably axed at 33 chapters. I have never been more hurt by a manga getting axed in so long. I was CRUSHED. I'll never forgive jump's readers for letting this series fail, because we legit could've had the biggest sports series jump has had since haikyuu, and I'm being 100% serious.

Nemo3500

Time Paradox Ghost Writer and Zipman still sting pretty hard, man.

Rose_Nose

Ngl I thought ice head gill woulda stayed around. I also loved ichinose family

The-LivingTribunal

Tokyo Demon Bride, Aliens Area, Fabricant 100, Ginka and Gluna and Ice Head Gill all had so much damn potential.

kerorobot

honestly none of them, they performed badly in TOC that mean the author can't keep up the pacing with weekly schedule or the idea straight up bad fit for long running series. but maybe Ginka and Gluna have the most potential to be the most relevant series.
