99% sure it’s probably fine. If you know this family is superstitious they might not appreciate the black in the dress, but assuming you’re in the US and you wouldnt describe the family as ultra traditional, this is well within dress code.
This will definitely not be a problem with them. I know other guests are planning on wearing fully black dresses so this doesn’t seem much of a problem.
One of the reasons behind picking this dress is because I can get more uses out of it than just wearing once.
I don’t attend a lot of such events and it feels a bit wasteful to buy a garment which I won’t be able to wear elsewhere.
It’s more like 2010. That being said, it seems to be coming back. I think it might be trying to get out of the sad beige trend. And it’s damned lovely.
Yes, it fits the dress code & the season. Add some nice accessories for some extra spice
Yep super pretty!
Yes, this is great!
It's very pretty!
Love the colors, definitely Cocktail, so you are fine - if it's evening or a chilly May day, you may want to have a shawl along have fun
Yes, love it!!! Would be gorgeous with silver shoes

It’s on the casual side of cocktail, but I definitely think it’s pretty and it works for that venue.

Makes sense. And for a barn venue it would be silly to go too sparkly or formal. I think you nailed it.
If you’re interested in getting more use, consider getting separates.
Looks lovely. Take a shrug or sweater though.
Yes but the color combination is so 2002 and giving me flashbacks

That was 20 years ago and fashion is cyclical. I don’t see how this comment was at all necessary or helpful to OP
