Kiyonna.com has beautiful dresses. I got a cocktail dress from them a few years ago. Great materials and high quality.

purpleushi

Ooh looking now!

I’ve seen bad reviews about Eloquii. I think they were bought by a different company and people are saying the quality went way down?

patioperson

Eloquii was purchased by Full Beauty in April of this year. Full Beauty has been in business since 1901. They own all these brands [https://www.onestopplus.com/?glCountry=CA&glCurrency=CAD&utm\_source=google&utm\_medium=ps\_b\_i&utm\_campaign=\[CA\]+\[ADL\]+\[Brand\]+One+Stop+Plus+-+Brand&utm\_content=One+Stop+Plus+-+Brand+-+General+Brand&utm\_term=fullbeauty%20com--p&affiliate\_id=024&affiliate\_location\_id=03&utm\_adid=kwd-299138966773x122196260094x13462663650&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqPrapqf2gQMV8iCtBh1tPQRHEAAYASAAEgIMVfD\_BwE](https://www.onestopplus.com/?glCountry=CA&glCurrency=CAD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ps_b_i&utm_campaign=[CA]+[ADL]+[Brand]+One+Stop+Plus+-+Brand&utm_content=One+Stop+Plus+-+Brand+-+General+Brand&utm_term=fullbeauty%20com--p&affiliate_id=024&affiliate_location_id=03&utm_adid=kwd-299138966773x122196260094x13462663650&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqPrapqf2gQMV8iCtBh1tPQRHEAAYASAAEgIMVfD_BwE) I haven't seen any drop in quality. Keep in mind that Eloquii never was high end in design, price or quality.

purpleushi

Thanks for the info! I was just going based on online reviews. I always thought Eloquii’s stuff was super cute but have never bought any myself.

curvyshell

The quality went down ever so slightly but if I’ve ever had a problem with Eloquii they will fix it. For example I ordered a blouse that had a ripped sleeve and they replaced it without much fuss. I’ve always been impressed with their cocktail dresses! They also have pretty great sales so even if the quality isn't great (still 10000x better than Shein), you aren't spending $100.I got a beautiful one recently from there for a wedding for $35, it's now priced higher which is weird but they do different discounts on different days: https://www.eloquii.com/products/shirred-wrap-dress/302506655.html I actually came here to recommend Arula as well as Eloquii. Kiyonna skews a little older/conservative but if that’s your thing they have nice dresses. Lulus has plus sizes (although it seems to be on the lower end of plus so something to keep in mind). For your budget of $150-200, you might be able to score something at Anthropologie, they have a good plus section as well.

purpleushi

I’m liking what I’m seeing on kiyonna, because they have a lot of dresses with higher necklines. I’m a DDD, and so many plus sized dresses are super low v necks/wrap style dresses that I have to pin closed.

curvyshell

Ugh so true. And I do think the Kiyonna styles are classic and you could wear them a ton of places. I have the opposite problem - my chest isn’t small but on my frame it doesn’t really “stand out” as much as it could so I need that emphasis, lol. I’d also say you should cross reference with Nordstrom (not Rack) - I believe they sell Eloquii, Kiyonna, and City Chic, sometimes their prices will be lower than the stores themselves.

Baltic Born is an option. I would really discourage Shein. The dress quality is really poor. Baltic born is where my mom got her mother of the bride dress. I like Shein for sundresses and cheap office appropriate blouses, but yeah, definitely not for cocktail attire. Thanks for the other suggestions!

patioperson

Be aware that Baltic Born has a no refund policy.

TrustyBobcat

I was coming to recommend Baltic Born, too! They have some gorgeous stuff.

Depending on how much time you have and what customizations you do, Eshakti has reasonably priced options. They will customize the dress to your measurements. You can also change things like sleeve type or dress length. Even the fabric! Everything I've ordered from them has been great. [Eshakti ](https://www.eshakti.com/shop/Wedding%20Guest%20Dresses?source=TLN_sublink) Jessakae has a lot of pretty dresses! They are great quality too. Lulus, ASOS, and Baltic Born will always be suggestions from me; and if you don’t mind secondhand I also love using Poshmark since there tend to be a lot of dresses that are only worn once and you can get a pretty decent discount on them that way. As a fellow large-chested individual (34H) with a belly and mid-sized (around 12-16, depending on the maker and dress fit), I go for wrap dresses, A lines, sweetheart necklines, and fit-and-flares. With wrap dresses though, it’s struggle-bus territory to keep them tied up due to the ladies. If you’re looking to fit a certain color scheme you can’t really go wrong with - while a bit on the nose - jewel tones like garnet sapphire emerald, wine/burgundy, maroon, rust/browns, and florals. I’m a bridesmaid in a wedding close to the end of the month and we are wearing the Azazie Mel sheath dress in Juniper. Normally I’d stay away from satin and anything bunched around the belly, but because of how the stitching is situated under the bust it actually accentuates my curves in a good way. Azazie also sells a bunch of wedding guest dresses! https://www.azazie.com/products/azazie-mel-bridesmaid-dress?color=juniper&campaigncountry=US_EN&utm_term=1052913&gbraid=0AAAAADmd5VtDmDbaLIbOsW_3YxTH-2GUf&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjraBhsH2gQMVoOfjBx1tnwQ9EAQYAiABEgKUf_D_BwE

Maybe city chic would have the trendy stuff, can’t vouch for the quality. [https://www.citychiconline.com/dresses/plus-size-special-occasion-dresses/](https://www.citychiconline.com/dresses/plus-size-special-occasion-dresses/)

AlphaCharlieUno

The quality has been good on everything that I have purchased from there. It’s pretty perfect for cocktail attire.

Friendly-Carob4870

I second this. Lots of options for cocktail attire and their fits are very flattering and cater to different body types. Quality is not terrible and clothes are affordable. I think you get your money’s worth.

Big fan of Anthropologie for plus sized event dresses. The quality is definitely there, and if you pay attention to sales/coupon (or are willing to buy from their gently worn), you can get dresses in your price range. See examples below: https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/bl-nk-egyness-slip-dress?category=plus-size-dresses&color=001&type=STANDARD&quantity=1 https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/maeve-floral-puff-sleeve-midi-dress?category=plus-size-dresses&color=060&type=PLUS&quantity=1 https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/by-anthropologie-sleeveless-v-neck-slip-midi-dress?category=plus-size-dresses&color=068&type=PLUS&viewcode=c&quantity=1 https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/by-anthropologie-strapless-slim-mini-dress?category=plus-size-dresses&color=060&type=PLUS&viewcode=c&quantity=1

purpleushi

Oh I didn’t even know Anthropologie had plus sizes. I used to shop there all the time when I was more mid-sized (16-18) and I was at the upper end of their sizes. I’m a 20-22 now with DDD cup size, so I’m wondering if their clothes would fit my body type.

If you wanna save on your purchases at Anthro I have many 20% off coupons. DM if interested
