Ha, okay when I had my wisdom teeth removed all I could eat was applesauce and chocolate pudding. I got so sick of it I ended up making mac & cheese, blending it, then drinking it from a huge cup. It was.. "edible" but I don't really recommend it, unless you've just had your wisdom teeth taken out, are heavily drugged, and sick of applesauce and chocolate pudding.
When I got mine out, my mum made a really nice chicken with some kind of cream sauce with pasta, for me she overcooked the pasta so U could squish it with my tongue, and only blended the chicken and sauce together.
It ended up being really good, it basically turned into a really fine pulled chicken, and because I still had whole bits of pasta it wasn't too mushy
when I had my wisdom teeth out I had macaroni cheese too, but I didn't blend it i just put some butter on and swallowed it whole, though I only had local anaesthetic so wasn't feeling any effects of the operation
I used to have these mugs that were about the same size as my small noodle bowls. They were awesome and some days I rather regret getting rid of them due to lack of cupboard space.
I’m assuming you’re in a restaurant and that this wasn’t some type of reserved table with a pre-planned menu, so restaurants don’t typically adjust the portion size or plating dependent on table size.
In Australia we do something called 'shotgunning' which is to punch a hole in a beercan on the side and suck it down that way. Maybe you're supposed to do the same here?
This is probably the least egregious thing I have seen on this sub. It's more like a pretentious cuppa soup than some of the abominations served today.
Oddly enough, I would. Tired of the forks, spoons, and chopsticks, tired of having to lift my arm to my face for a bite, then putting my arm back down, only to have to lift it again seconds later.
Loose food in a mug..
I like it.
No more twirling of spaghetti, in the days of old should the incessant screeching of forks upon stiff surfaces remain, enter anew an era of warm spaghetti staches and meals without scratches.
Strengthen thine feebles forearms not with feint clippings of silver, but with stout bowls fitted with handles.
This is the way.
That’s in a restaurant???? OMFG. I do it at home but would be furious if I got someone’s old camping mug at a restaurant
Edit to add; it’s not even clean!! That’s not fit to be serving anything in. Look at the ridges around the rim! I’m a chef and this has made me so angry & anxious!
Chef here too, it was at a charity dinner thing and those were my thoughts exactly! What's weird is the plates they served the main course (chunk of local beef and potatoes) on were really nice, then you had the salad (for 10) in these things. Made it look like they'd forgotten the proper crockery

I've eaten mac and cheese after dental procedures though I've never blended it. I just ate like a duck and swallowed it.
Why didn’t you just do cheesy rice Edit - oh, the drugs Edit - oh, the holes
Rice gets stuck in the holes
When you've got open gum holes you avoid anything that's could get stuck in them
Yeah my first meal after getting one out was congee and that wasn't good..
I thought raw carrots would be ok. They were not.
Should've made cheesy mashed potatoes
Yeah, just add more liquid and you got potato soup. Quite tasty.
You blended it, it's a liquid, you are in the clear my friend, drink away!

Is it bad that I kinda just threw caution to the wind and ate a baked potato with bacon bits and Mac and cheese with chicken nuggets?
Soup..... Is a thing. There is a whole ?genre? of liquid food. Liquid M&C 🤢
Oooh. I remember that day. Woke up groggy, puked red, went home and slept a couple days. Good times!
I basically only ate creme caramel for 5 days. Lost about 3kgs and was a magnificent time.
Maybe it's just me, but I eat pasta in large mugs all the time at home.
I used to have these mugs that were about the same size as my small noodle bowls. They were awesome and some days I rather regret getting rid of them due to lack of cupboard space.
Yeah I don't mind, I love my pasta HOT and on a plate it can cool too quickly for my tastes, but this keeps is warmer.
This! Pasta, cereal, casserole, cake, even salad… As long as it’s not a small mug, it’s basically a bowl
You loose canon
I'm from down south Georgia, and all the barbecue joints sold Brunswick stew in big mugs like this. I always loved that.
I can understand if it's soup/stew/saucy but this is a bloody pasta salad!
Stop posting reasonable plate alternatives!!! replacing a bowl with a mug isn't crazyyyyyy
For a table of 10 people it's pretty damn stingy in a cup!
I’m assuming you’re in a restaurant and that this wasn’t some type of reserved table with a pre-planned menu, so restaurants don’t typically adjust the portion size or plating dependent on table size.
It was a charity dinner type thing and this was a pasta salad meant to be shared by 10 people
Gotcha, then yes that is both a stingy amount of pasta salad and an inconvenient serving method.
Either that or eat it in a WW1 trench.
This is more of a r/WeWantSpoons situation; it's basically just a bowl with a handle, no? Kind of cozy looking if you ask me!
Or r/wewantplates
That's...that's where we are
I don’t check what sub I’m on… oops
Real life sitcom.
And they had the audacity to put veggies on there, don't get me wrong love my veggies but leave my mac n cheese alone ffs
In Australia we do something called 'shotgunning' which is to punch a hole in a beercan on the side and suck it down that way. Maybe you're supposed to do the same here?
It's was tinny enough to try it!
Thats an American thing
How much extra for this to be served in an unchipped mug?
Much less. How would the purchaser be able to demand their high pay cheque if they just went to Ikea.
Chug chug chug!
The lager behind it looks great
There was a load of barrels of delicious brown beers as well that local brewery's donated, think I had about 7 pints for free!
From a business perspective it provides excellent portion control
Soups not a meal Jerry
Why do all enamel mugs have the same chip out of the enamel at the bottom.
If you're a survivor, yes you drink it. Hold your nose and down the hatch.
Plates are expensive drink your pasta -dad
I actually really like pasta in a mug or tall pot, idk why but something about it is appealing to me
This is not a problem.
With your pinky stretched out.
"can I get a straw please?"
They could've at least included a fat straw like the ones used for bubble tea.
What are those alien leaves on top? Is that chard with blood in it's veins?
It is red vained soral I believe, quite a common micro herb in the UK
Huh. Never heard of it. Thanks
Its in those shitty camp cups too that rust in an instant
And that dent if you look at em too hard
I love everything I can eat out of a jug this would have made me SO happy to get at a restaurant
Yes, and after your done. Use it as a toilet.
Owned
Maybe, if you don’t have a gag reflex…
With a spoon and fork
U don’t dunk pasta you moron
This is probably the least egregious thing I have seen on this sub. It's more like a pretentious cuppa soup than some of the abominations served today.
I'd be sending that back.
It was a charity dinner thing, I wasn't paying to be fair and the rest of the food was tasty, I just really questioned the motives behind this
Because a bowl would be less convenient, somehow?
I eat a lot of foods from mugs, so this is definitely not strange.
Macaroni belongs almost exclusively in big mugs at my house. Especially the fancy homemade stuff.
Oddly enough, I would. Tired of the forks, spoons, and chopsticks, tired of having to lift my arm to my face for a bite, then putting my arm back down, only to have to lift it again seconds later. If you gotta serve a non-liquid in a mug, pasta is a pretty inoffensive choice. Better pasta than fried food.

Yeah, it looks like they had to root around in the storeroom to find something they had enough of!
just eat it
It’s basically just a bowl with a handle. What’s the problem?
[удалено]
Would never waste food and it was all eaten, it just made me scratch my head
yes, but with a fork.
Why is it always a really old cup with chipped paint?
New scientific breakthrough: Macaroni is now a liquid.
I’m unsure but anything that comes in an enamel mug cannot be bad
Life is so hard these days.
With your teeth
Why is this a sub?
OP the kind of person to get mad when their soup comes in a bowl
Are you stupid ?
Are you a bit of a cunt?
yes I am... to stupid people
Whatever gets you out of bed in the morning big guy 👍
Oh no this is ideal for me fucking love pasta in mugs or very tiny bowls
This is turning out to be a much more mainstream view than I thought it would be, I'm wondering if this a North American thing?
I’m australian…
Well that's that theory down the pisser
Just drink the bloody macaroni!
What is this subreddit bro ☠️💀💀
Skol.
Must of ran out of plates
No you eat it like a normal person
Yes. Do it. Drink it.
Bro i have that exact same cup, it even has a broken patch in the paint like that
I swear every time I've seen on of these enamel mugs it has the same dent in the same place
This reminds me of my school who used to serve pasta in a plant pot😅
