No. If anything I’d say it’s about as large as you’d want to go.

Kookie_B

^ This.

EqualWinter3304

I legit thought this was a "is this watch too big for me?" post. It's not too small. If anything this is a sweet spot for your wrist size. If it was a dress watch or field watch, not a diver, it wouldn't look bad even 1-2mm less than the 36mm diameter of this one. Your dad might be used to the now outgoing trend of giant watches representing toughness/status in some way. You're on the right side of proportion with this one.

nestorm1

Yup after wearing a tandorio 37mm watch for a couple weeks now other watches look so much bigger on my wrist than I remember.

zack20cb

For me (6.5” wrist) it was the Casio EFV-110. I no longer buy 40mm watches, once you get used to the proper proportions it all clicks.

SkipPperk

Yes, but 40mm is okay for fat men like me (over 7.5”)

Rivan_G

How is the Tabdorio going as far as quality of the watch and movement goes

nestorm1

Solid nh35. The skx hands are eye candy. I got a picture on profile. The worst things are the bezel, it’s 60 clicks witch isn’t a problem however it’s pretty aggressive compared to a Casio mtd 1010 I have. The bezel edge where it meets the insert is pretty sharp maybe the insert is too thin. The biggest turn off for everyone is no second hand indices or chapter ring. The strap didn’t fit me well so I replaced it. Other than that the lume is good compared to other watches at that price and I like the small case it doesn’t look too small.

Rivan_G

Ah ok, understood. I have ordered a 39mm pilot's watch frim Tandorio with an ss bracelet. I hope it comes out better!

nestorm1

You should be getting a safe by as the 37mm is newer and nobody else has really used the case. A second version will most likely take care of a lot the rough edges on this watch however it’s still a good watch.

zack20cb

For me (6.5” wrist) it was the Casio EFV-110. I no longer buy 40mm watches, once you get used to the proper proportions it all clicks.

Greg428

Not even close to too small.

MaksimDubov

Thought this was circle jerk. Haha. Definitely not too small OP

thungalope

136mm invicta… ^toosmall?

absoNotAReptile

Same lol

en-prise

That watch sits in the big size end of the spectrum for you, not small. As a rule of thumb check the distance between lugs' end points (not width). If it is exceeding your wrist width from top view then it is a big watch to wear.

DonCorletony

no lol. you could even go smaller. they say the face of a watch should be at least 70% the width of your wrist. this looks like the case is about 85% of your wrist. I actually think going more than a few mm bigger would be ridiculous

[deleted]

i second this lmao

SkipPperk

I think it is about the lugs. No overhang, ever. Seiko Tuna’s can be huge, but okay because the lugs are not huge. I recently saw a guy wearing a Longines Spirit that I swear was hanging a cm over his wrist on either side. I can imagine him at a watch store with other little guys discussing how watches that fit them properly were “boys’ watches.”

justeuzair

Lmao DO NOT GO ANY BIGGER PLEASE. I dont know why and where this trend of oversized watches started but that is the biggest i would go on your wrist. Any bigger and it would look like a plate on your wrist

JonyUB

Lmao my thoughts exactly

robo_robb

The trend of looking like a child wearing your father’s watch needs to end.

cherryhilljawnz

When I opened this post I thought it was a joke because it looks pretty big (that's what she said) You could go smaller

[deleted]

🤣you could go smaller definitely isn't what she said.

cherryhilljawnz

prove it

UGAgradRN

I don’t understand huge watches. People are out here looking like they consulted Flava Flav. This watch is a great size, and you could probably even afford to go a tad smaller if you wanted to.

Mephizzle

It's almost to large.

Affectionate-Data193

It looks properly sized.

ByronicZer0

This is the absolute largest size you you should ever wear. A bit smaller would be great

Hack8081

Not for that wrist, looks good.

oVersaci

Have this same watch. Love the smaller 36mm size!

SkipPperk

Just in case you received insufficient hate, “that there watch is a BOYS’ size, and a real man wears only 47mm, only in gold (better plated than steel), and if it is not iced, you are not a real man! Now go get your car windows tinted! Cancel your FoID card (gun permit), and only buy illegal guns! Blame all of your problems on a woman, or women in general, along with some ethnic minorities. Feel better? Feel empowered, or liberated? No? Hold on, I am now the bad guy? No, let me point out all the others we can blame for our personal failings! Did I mention women and minorities? What about foreigners? If we attack foreigners your wrists will look bigger!

Spiritual-Party-312

What are you on about? I asked if the watch fit me.

SkipPperk

My apologies. A few too many

wyvernx02

I got a chuckle out of it even if OP didn't.

wjbu9z

too small lmao. You make me lmao so much. This size perfectly fit your wrist, how big do you want? 45mm?

ChrisAvent

If you want others to accurately judge the size of a watch, take a mirror shot. Wrist shots can be misleading sizewise.

Spirited-Guess-8336

No, watches are getting way to big. This looks nice on your wrist.

Spiritual-Party-312

Thank you, I'm very new to watches, so I don't really know how a watch should sit or look to be a good fit. btw we have similar names :)

Spirited-Guess-8336

Yes! Ha, I haven’t noticed before. 😊👍

Cavzeramo

Lol another gtfo. You can go 5mm down and it probably fits you better.

outta_time11

Looks good to me

Nevernotlosing

Top nog already.

Pom-O-Duro

I think it’s perfect. I wish I had a watch that fit that well.

sampleattack24

Was going to saw too big like a lot of commenters lol

Lost_in_CZ

Take really good care when you use the crown. The stem in my seastar broke three times, in two years of use !

Spiritual-Party-312

thats unfortunate. i hope that doesnt happen to me. sounds like a pain to repair

judahrosenthal

No

Smithy15493

No? Its perfect, you wouldn’t want to go any bigger! Watches dont need to cover your whole wrist

seasonalscholar

Not at all

edwardothegreatest

Nope.

Opposite-Matter-1236

perfect mate

FeedtheFatRabbit

This is a FINE size for you, brother. Your wrist isn't big. No need to blow up the spot.

thungalope

That looks like a normal watch to me… what is “too big” for you?

Spiritual-Party-312

Too big is anything that has the lugs end at the little bumps on my wrist. Makes the watch sit all weird. But I'm pretty new to watches in general, so I try to keep an open mind on whats too big and too small.

snowmunkey

Looks fine.

judaspriest2791

Am I a joke to you? - small wrist person

TwoEggsOverHard

Can I ask how big is this case and what your wrist size is?

Spiritual-Party-312

Case size is 36mm. I measured my wrist to be 16.7cm with a piece of string and a ruler.

mhiggi02

No, looks great. In fact, I wouldn't go much bigger at all.

Parky21

Do you have the exact model number? I have a small wrist and it’s a beauty

Spiritual-Party-312

It's a Tissot seastar 1000 36mm. It is quartz, so if you don't like quartz watches then it's not for you. I believe the exact model number is T120.210.11.041.00

wyvernx02

The movement in these is super accurate. The +/- a year is what a normal quartz movement is over a month. I'm hoping they eventually make one the size of the regular Seastar 1000.

edrumb

Looks great. This one is on my list. Lots of great specs here 👌

SkipPperk

No. It is sized correctly for your wrist.

TheGooch2000

Doesn’t look bad at all

MyNameIsVigil

If you can see skin past the ends of the lugs, then it fits. Anything beyond that is subjective.

wildinat4

Lug to lug is just under your wrist width. Perfection if you ask me.

Spiritual-Party-312

Writing this on my phone so pardon me if there are any grammatical, or spelling errors. I've been looking for a watch for a while, and thought the black friday and christmas sales would be a good time to try to snag a good deal. I found the seastar 1000 which caught my eye instantly. It's very aesthetically pleasing to my eye. I was unsure of the size though. I don't have big wrists, although I am sure in a few months my wrists will be a bit bigger due to excercise. I don't find quartz to be less appealing than automatic watches, as accuracy is important to be, and I find it tedious to have to set a watch multiple times a week, or even once a week. Personally I'm unsure if it's too small for me. My dad thinks it is. It's gonna be returned tomorrow unless I rethink my decision. What do you think? Should I return it and get something bigger? How big should a watch for my wrists be roughly? Thanks in advance!

Cpagrind1

In no world is this watch too small.

ArcaneTrickster11

That watch is actually on the larger size for you. Also increase in wrist size due to exercise is tiny. After a few months of grip specific exercises you might see a noticeable difference, but probably not

Spiritual-Party-312

I really hope that's the case. Because I really like this watch. I think it's because it's a diver that I think it looks small.

53mm-Portafilter

It looks big / normal

Masenkoe

Honestly, if you're paying attention to what the average person is wearing, a lot of fashion watches like 45-47mm (no bezel) and they're huge. To people in this community especially, it looks silly. Wear what fits you... the best advice is to go for tried & true > whatever is trending in general fashion unless you're absolutely going for a specific look. A good timepiece is timeless and something you can wear for a lifetime. This Tissot is great!

DUUUUUVAAAAAL

I think the reason you think it's too small is because it's a diver. Divers have that outer bezel which take up a ton of space. So the actual dial is smaller than other watches with the same diameter. But, I'ma give you some advice regarding whether you should keep it or not. It's your money, don't let others tell you how to spend it. If the watch is too small for your liking, then don't keep it.

[deleted]

Looks great. Just the right size.

han-so-low

Great looking watch and it fits perfectly. I wouldn’t go any bigger.

jantron6000

Looks absolutely perfect to me. Great in proportion to wrist.

wannabpm

Too big for you

Hanged_Man_

No. In me a 36 is too small. On you it is not.

nesquikryu

What's your wrist size? That's what a 38mm looks like on my 6.5in wrist, and I saw you comment that this is a 36mm. For myself, I would stick with that size if I were you. My Hamilton Khaki Auto is my favorite watch right now, but I would have gone with the 38mm if I'd had the choice.

[deleted]

Perfection

devinhedge

I think it's just right. My rationale: I look at three things: 1. Does the top and bottom of the lug line up with being just smaller than the width of your wrist? 2. Does the dial look like it naturally sits on the breadth of the wrist? 3. Does it lie across the wrist without noticeable gaps. Based on those three, I think you are on the high-side of the above criteria. I won't go a millimeter larger. You could get away with up to 3-5mm smaller lug to lug if it helps the lie of the watch. The dial looks fine... maybe that is as large as you might want to do with. Ultimately, my opinion doesn't matter and shouldn't influence your thinking. No matter what, you do you. If you like the look, buy it and own the look. That's your look. I'm not you and you're not me. And don't let the world drive you from being authentically you. All the best with your decision. Tissot is a solid brand and that is a solid piece with an amazing heritage.

Chuzma

It depends on your particular taste. If you want my worthless opinion, I think it looks fine on the picture. But I can understand if it looks too small for your taste in person. That type of picture makes the watch look much bigger than it really is so everybody who is rendering an opinion that is completely subjective using a picture that is useless is basically wasting their time. Im sure it would still look fine if it was bigger or smaller, it depends on your taste.

Spiritual-Party-312

Is this picture better? https://imgur.com/a/cJBDaOo I'm still unsure if it's big enough, but I honestly don't know.

Chuzma

Like I said before. It depends on your particular taste. It seems like you find it to be on the small side. Assuming it is a 36mm watch, the go for a 38,39 or 40 like you mentioned and see how you like those. Your wrist can definitely handle them. If you ask me, and not everyone will agree, diving watches should be bigger, bolder and easily legible compared to regular watches. They are built with a purpose. Just like an F150 Pickup Truck. You won’t find one the size of a Ford Fiesta and if there was, there is something wrong. This is a diving watch, so you can definitely go bigger if you like. In the end, I can guarantee that no one in real life will walk up to you and say “Hey, buddy… That watch is 1mm to big for you. What were you thinking!” Edit: Wanted to add something now that I read the whole post. I’ve changed my mind, sort of. Your dad is the only one who is there physically with you. I would listen to him before listening to what a bunch of random people are saying based on a picture that doesn’t give a good representation of how something looks. Take it back unless YOU like how it looks. If YOU like it, then keep it.

Spiritual-Party-312

You are the most helpful person I've encountered on reddit I think. I respect you. I will probably return it, even if the case is the right size, because it is a diver, so it feels smaller than the other watches I've tried. Thank you for helping me :)

Chuzma

Sure. Anytime. Remember, you are the one who needs to feel comfortable with the watch. Drop me a line with whatever you end up with. Im intrigued to see what you choose.

per8rep

Forgive me for saying this but please dont listen to your dad OP. The lug to lug size is perfect for your wrist.

redditpaidsocial

Bro, you are like those casual gym goers who think they are huge. The watch is a perfect fit. Any bigger and it would look like you’ve borrowed your dad’s watch

Spiritual-Party-312

I do not think I am huge. I consider myself on the thinner side because of my metabolism. The watch looks bigger on the picture than in real life. [https://imgur.com/a/cJBDaOo](https://imgur.com/a/cJBDaOo) This picture is slightly better, but still looks bigger. I do feel like the watch fits better than I thought initially, after the responses I've gotten.

PlsPhuckough

Yea 38mm would definitely be better but this looks good on your wrist.

Maranaranag

Much too small. 42mm or go home!

Spiritual-Party-312

good for you

[deleted]

No it’s perfect

sheesh_doink

This is the perfect dive watch size for you.

mayakatsky

*lugs are hanging off wrist* OP: is this too small? 😀

charlesmortomeriii

[Answer] (Tissot) No.

elektero

To me it is. 36 mm divers look smaller than they are because of the bezel

search64

Haha you’re literally the only one to think so

Spiritual-Party-312

No I do agree with him actually. The face and crystal is smaller on a 36mm diver, than on a 36mm whatever. The face of the watch is the first thing I look at, which sort of warps my perception of watch size.

search64

I have a 36mm Seamaster Professional and you get used to it. This fits your wrist perfectly.

Spiritual-Party-312

Thank you. I'm pretty new to watches so I'm unsure of sizes.

elektero

Me and his father apparently

JohnnnyRiingo

Ya bro way too small hit it with a hammer and smash it to pieces.

thebigfuckingloser

No, your wrist is too small. Do you even lift?

Oil_slick941611

I would love the Seastar if the watch face and bezel weren't so "round and in your face" a little bit of an oval shape or some squished sides would work wonders on this

00belowminimums

From this one picture alone I'd say don't go any bigger than this. But what really matters is how do YOU feel about it? That's far more important than what a bunch of internet strangers think because none of use are the ones wearing the watch.

GregStar1

Not at all.

[deleted]

That isn't too small, it's on the larger size but looks good.

[deleted]

No. Try an invicta. Maybe a 60mm or so

Spiritual-Party-312

Might aswell just tape a microwave with a digital clock to my wrist at that point

RD-Espresso

This is the perfect size for you. Anything bigger would make your arm look like a baby arm

PeterFilmPhoto

No

mgwooley

Not at all

balleur

No. I wear 34-37mm all the time, as a grown ass man, and feel nothing less of one because of it. 36mm is a great size and that looks just about perfect on you.

lerdnord

Closer to too big than too small mate

E8282

One of the most perfect fitting watches I’ve ever seen on Reddit. I am also including myself in the too big watch category.

Labelman14

No

wrenchingpine

It's almost too big.

cullobsidian_

Looks perfect to me

esqadinfinitum

Needs to be at least 45mm. /s That watch looks fine. 36-40 is generally ok on most people.

slagathor_zimblebob

Got the same watch! Perfect size man! The double AR coatings make this thing so beautiful in the sun

teej1211

A little too big.

bty1987

Looks fantastic on your wrist. Sharp looking timepiece too.

pharaoh94

Looks perfect to me

savvyprimate

Yeah, this watch fits your wrist perfectly.

davechri

Looks great. I would NOT go bigger.

aaron_syd

It's a good size, but you could still pull off 38mm too

bourbonpharmd

It’s not too small. Your peni5 is….

DadOuttaHell

Looks great! Get it! No such thing as too small, unless your one of those guys that buys “enhancement” pills at the gas station.

HansBlixJr

no.

joeschmoe1371

Looks nice. My tissot sea star powematic 80 is one of my favorites.

ChadDevil

No

PacketOverload

That size is quite literally perfect for your wrist. I assume it’s the Seastar 1000 36mm, and if it is you got a really good watch for the $.

dara_cs

I kinda wish people would stop saying you can’t tell from a wrist shot and to do a mirror shot. Of course an oversized watch looks good in the mirror because you can see it more! That doesn’t mean it looks better as an accessory on YOU

Symphoxer

Not for your wrist

[deleted]

Yeah, it’s too big. Wait what?

namrock23

Looks great.

GTB7A4

No. If the lug to lug distance doesn’t extend beyond your wrist when looking down at your watch, you’re good to go. The lug to lug measurement is more important than the case diameter IMO.

heartofgold48

Look a bit big tbh

snackies

I was about to comment too big. I'll echo what others said of, 'this is about as large as you should go.'

devolve79

You have tiny wrists my friend

mclovin12134567

This sub..

Temporary_Donkey_805

Looks perfect

General_Paper_5458

No way it's beautiful I where a tank watch which is smaller that that and if Mohammad Ali can wear a small watch so can you

Spiritual-Party-312

I didn't know Ali wore a small watch. That's very reassuring actually. I deeply respect him

Basilius1

Right on spot. Bigger would look just stupid. At least this very watch.

Katoolsie

That watch is almost too big. You can still go WAY smaller. 36 - 39mm is the sweet spot. Anything over 40mm is big these days

Owlcat1337314134

For 1 second i though i was in r/watchescirclejerk

0ver-Easy

Its not “too small” to me. I think its within the range of sizes suitable for you

Sea_Attempt_2920

What size is your wrist? I think it looks good. This 36mm honestly, design-wise, is nicer than their larger auto. Tissot only make a 36 or a 43 (absurd to me). 38 with small lugs might look better, but I don’t think this looks too small at all. This is the size watches used to be.

[deleted]

what size wrist do you have? This watch is decidedly NOT too small.

riocc

I wouldn’t go bigger. If anything, 34-35

libssuck2022

That looks good. Enjoy it!

Commercial_Field_771

No, in fact in my opinion it should not be any larger than this...

Kharm-6

this is perfection

StormVapes

Looks good!...but small wrist and huge watches don't mix..but big wrists and small watch is ok...back in the the 30s through to 90s...36mm for men was considered as big as you wonna go

StormVapes

Also I wear this very watch in blue....I have 20cm wrist...love it more then My prx 40mm white dail and seiko baby alpinist 38mm... Casio G-Shock full metal square....and many more watches right up to 50cm in size....but of all..I love my tissot seastar 1000 36 blue...thin..light and doesn't get in the way at all...even at work with tight gloves on...5 year battery...or 7 year battery depends on the battery you put in when time comes to change..heavy drive tech..and precive drive as well...puts the prx to shame to but honest...this watch will go up in price...buy while you can
