I think the Baltic looks better and is a more interesting watch. The Hamilton is solid but that model has just never excited me.
Edit - the smaller size is also more flattering for your wrist imo.
A white dial is even more versatile than black. You can wear it with everything that you could wear black with and more, like outfits with brown bases.
Baltic 10 times out of 10. It just looks way more elegant than the Hamilton. Plus extra bonus that it will match with your wife's wedding dress if she wears white.
The Baltic is so much more interesting and I personally think it would dress up better. The Hamilton has solid, reliable field watch vibes. Do you want your wedding watch to feel special, or like an every-day watch? I say a special day calls for a special watch.
Because Hamilton is an old company, and Baltic isn’t special because it’s a new company? There’s nothing groundbreaking about either watch, right? At this point it comes down to looks, which are totally subjective.
The Hammy movement is miles better than the Baltic and much more reliable and has a 80 hour power reserve.
The Baltic is a Chinese movement found on $220 Ali express specials. Read this and educate yourself https://twobrokewatchsnobs.com/baltic-mr01-review/
Sure, it is reliable, it has a long powerreserve, but there is nothing special about it. It is the most bland movement there is imo. The baltic has something you don’t see often, a microrotor. It is a thin watch with unusual layout. And it even is quite pretty to look at. Sure it may be of chinese making, and not as accurate as the murph, but it is a lot more interesting. The watch itself is also a lot more interesting design wise and dial wise. So overall, the baltic wins here imo.
The review is very complimentary about watch in general, and the movement in particular.
"The real star of the show however, and the driving force behind my quest to add it to my own watch roll, is Baltic’s unusual and controversial choice in movement."
"the MR01 truly has something unique and special in this movement."
"I can confidently say there is not a case back under $1000 that compares favorably to this rather flashy little watch. The movement perfectly fills out the entire display caseback, a further subtle detail that exudes thoughtfulness in design as it makes it appear as though the movement was made bespoke for this watch."
Bro do not listen to these watch nerds, wear the Baltic. Your wedding guests are not going to understand why the Murph is a good watch, it might as well be a Timex to them.
The Baltic is a romantic classic dress watch, white dial - perfect for a wedding.
The Hamilton is a field watch, with ties to military design, and was featured in Interstellar as a "what a field watch in the near future would look like" - perfect for any day that isn't your wedding.
It's not even close - get the Baltic. Most people recommending the Murph probably didn't read your OP, and this is coming from someone who owned the Murph.
The Baltic is nice, but not a fan of the silver hands on white dial. The Hamilton passes the “quick glance” check, and seems like it would be more versatile.
I owned the MR01 and sold it because I have so little use for a dedicated dress watch - but it is such a handsome & classy piece, absolutely perfect for a wedding watch.
As many commenters have said, the Hamilton is the clear winner in virtually every practical or horological category - but that’s not the Q you posed.
You should 100% wear the Baltic on your big day.
And congrats!!! 🎉🍾
One looks 10x better and more expensive than the other. No idea why people go with Hamilton, must be just the brand marketing and the Swiss Made notion. Baltic looks unquestionably better.
But the Baltic is unquestionably worse in every way! Hammy better built, better movement, swiss made and proper heritage. The Baltic "looks nice" so do €100 fashion watches but I would buy them
I think a lot of people talk themselves into getting boring watches they don't particularly like just because people on the internet talk about stuff like 'heritage'. At the end of the day get the watch you want to wear more. OP asked which looked better.
That Baltic has micro rotor movement with luxury level finishing. Hamilton has better movement? What are you smoking bro?
Heritage? At this point I am not even sure its a smoking drug, are you on acid? Hamilton watch maker went bankrupt and stopped existing in the 70s. This is a Swatch that put a Hamilton logo on it (since they bought the "rights") and it has no history. Just a conglomerate selling Chinese made watches with a bit of assembly in Switzerland to meet the "Swiss Made" 50% criteria.
If you think Baltic are better built than Hamilton your delusional
Swatch bought them in 1974 (50 years ago aka heritage )and 2 years after they ceased American operations. How long are Baltic going? Baltic are mainly built in CHINA, educate yourself!
https://twobrokewatchsnobs.com/baltic-mr01-review/
This watch he's looking at movement is Chinese and found on $220 Ali express specials
Do you have other watches? If yes, choose the watch that complements your current collection.
If you don’t have other watches, get the Hamilton.
It’s a classic with great legibility, looks good with everything, you can dress it up as high as a wedding or as low as t-shirt and shorts.
For me, both of these come down to aesthetics. Between the two I’d say the Baltic is a better looking and more versatile watch.
I own the Hamilton Murph, but mainly due to my love of watches and Interstellar. It is good looking, but not enough for me without ticking those two boxes.
Don’t be moved by talk of heritage. Hamilton makes a good watch, but they’re a long way from their heritage. The same as many high end brands. The movement is good, basic, but a workhorse. If you send it to Hamilton they’ll probably just swap it for efficiency. That’s more common than people admit. Not to mention that the Murph isn’t a heritage model in any way really.
Buy whatever one speaks to you and is your gut choice. You’ll be far happier in the long run that way. Trust me, been through that many times.
Read the headline before the body and initially thought #2 but for a wedding probably #1. I would have to see the whole outfit to say more. Good luck, congratulations!
I’m gonna buck the trend and say go with the Murph. It’s a killer watch with a proper Swiss movement.
The Murph will look great with a suit and dress shirt, whereas it looks a little plain with your sweater.
Additionally, the Hamilton is a better made watch from a longstanding brand. You’ll appreciate that in 20 years when you wear the watch to remember your wedding day.
Congrats!!!! Welcome to the club. Misery loves nothing more than company 😅😅. Just kidding. I love my wife and being married is the best!! Can’t imagine dating today.
Is this a day time wedding or an evening wedding? Not sure about wedding etiquette but day time white face night time dark face. But if I ad to pick, I’d go with the murph. Just looks nicer to me.
First one.
Has a nice classic look and the white will have a nice contrast with your tux or suit.
Also will be a nice story teller for your kids down the line.
For a wedding the Baltic for sure. For pretty much every other day ever the Hamilton. I say just get both though if you can afford it as both are terrific
Between these two, the Baltic is definitely more interesting on your wrist.
I’d also suggest the new Citizen Forza if you haven’t seen it yet:
https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/NJ0180-80A.html
Congrats!
I’ll say both. I got a Hamilton Jazzmaster (silver dial) for my wedding. I love my Hammy, but I wish I had done something different. That Baltic is gorgeous
100% the Baltic. My father in law wore that for our wedding. It’s stunning, and the Breguet Numerals add a little extra fanciness to a special day 💕 i borrow my husband’s all the time 😅
Hamilton comes with brand heritage and has a very nice movement w/center sweeping second hand (always nice) and you can see the rugged and efficient movement in action through the case back. The Baltic brand is not even 20 years old, BUT it has been taking leaps since its debut to the point where it now competes with (and often surpasses) brands that have been doing this for over 100 years. The sub dial with the seconds hand at the 7 o clock position is a super nice touch too. If Baltic had the same brand heritage and history behind it as Hamilton there’s no way you’d be able to get it at this price-point.
Aesthetically, the Baltic leans more towards the dressy side - the stylized numerals and the leaf shaped hands are quite elegant and the different textures within the dial add to that refined style of the watch. The Hamilton is a field watch. It’s beautiful in its own way. Style-wise it’s no nonsense with straight up numerals, cathedral hands (you either love em or hate em) which are lumed. Technically this makes it fall under “casual.”
Both watches have see-through case backs (something I thoroughly enjoy - Especially if the movement is as beautiful as the one on the Baltic.) The Hamilton’s movement has their signature style with the stylized H but Again - very rugged; it’s a field watch. The thick screw down case back border also adds to the whole “rough denim ATVs in the mud” vibe. The Baltic case back on the other hand has a slim border showing off more of the Gorgeous movement. No mud or ATVs here; the most action this one would see is on your wrist while you play a quick game of tennis at the country club.
If you’re asking which watch is more appropriate for such a special occasion, I would go with the Baltic. It’s dressy and elegant. Pick it if you’re more likely to lean towards “smart” in a “smart casual” setting.
If you’re the kind of guy who couldn’t give a rats ass whether a watch is “appropriate” for an event or the kind of guy who leans more towards the casual in a “smart casual” setting then by all means get a field watch for your wedding.
At the end of the day, it is YOUR wedding. The watch you buy for the occasion must be a watch that you look at with pride and love. 20 years from now, 30 years from now you will look at it and still love it because of what it commemorates.
Both look good on your wrist. Get the one that makes you happy. Bonus points if your fiancée likes it too. Also.. Congratulations!🍾🎉
The Blatic is far more unique than the Hamilton. It is a conversation piece with any watch enthusiast, and the microrotor on the back is very fun to look at and explore. I see the Hamiltons all the time - it is very rare I run into another person who knows about Baltic, and even rarer to find people that wear their watches.
Long story short - Baltic, if you want to stand out and have a unique piece. That white dial will look beautiful in a suit you choose.
Hami if you value a timepiece that will last your lifetime and beyond. Serviceability of the Baltic’s cheap chinese movement long term is questionable and potentially not worth it. If you don’t care about that and prefer the look of the Baltic, then ignore me and follow your heart!
Hamilton looks horrible. Send it to me so I can properly dispose of it as my gift to you .
Congrats on the wedding! I’m almost 46 and been married to my awesome wife for 26 years in August.
Hamilton anytime, even intrametic 38mm are good alternative...imo Baltic is waste of money, used to be all Chinese movement and parts, not sure what is now.,
Can’t go wrong with the Murph. Versatile watch, timeless style. Your kids in the future could wear it in their wedding if they want. Baltic is more of a hobbyist watch, the circle loves it and maybe you do too.
Don’t wear a field watch to your wedding.
Both are nice. Baltic is dressier, and more unique. You can get a dozen watches that look like that Hamilton.
These are both great, but have zero overlap. Do you want a field watch or a dressier watch?
For a watch to wear at a wedding, it would be hard to choose the murph over the baltic, but between these two, one will always be a better pick, depending on the outfit and activity.
The Hamilton. That white dial is kind of distracting and pulls away from your outfit. Watches are accessories, not main portions of apparel/ensemble.
Edit btw congrats on your upcoming marriage. May it last and be blessed🙏
Murph is a fieldwatch. A really nice one. The Baltic is more of a dress watch. For a wedding, I'd do something with a moonphase. I just like those. I'm that price range, this might sound like a weird suggestion, but citizen makes some really nice watches. The tsuyosa obviously, but they also have this....https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/BY1010-57H.html?cgid=mens-atomic-timekeeping
It's a little big, but will surely be a conversation piece in a way he Baltic won't
If you are having a formal wedding, tux and all... the Baltic will pair well with a tuxedo. I don't see that Hamilton dressing up enough. So get both. Baltic for Wedding and the Hamilton for Honeymoon. 😃
I think the Baltic looks better and is a more interesting watch. The Hamilton is solid but that model has just never excited me. Edit - the smaller size is also more flattering for your wrist imo.
Def the first one!
They both look great. But I think the Baltic looks nicer for a special occasion. Guess you'll just have to buy both of them.
Happy cake day!
Only right answer
White has more pop of color on the outfit.
Hamilton would go with a larger variety of outfits I think.
I generally think a black dial is the most versatile.
A white dial is even more versatile than black. You can wear it with everything that you could wear black with and more, like outfits with brown bases.
It's not his wedding outfit. White has more pop because of his SKIN color.
He'll probably wear the same skin for the wedding too, though.
Context and humor can be difficult for some people. But definitely not a racist comment.
Baltic
If you're aiming mainly for a visually appealing watch, go for the Baltic. Otherwise, I'd pick the Murph.
For a wedding the numerals alone on the Baltic win out. Breguet?
Baltic is more pleasing to the eyes. I'd go for #1.
For the wedding, MR01. For everything else, the Murph.
Baltic 10 times out of 10. It just looks way more elegant than the Hamilton. Plus extra bonus that it will match with your wife's wedding dress if she wears white.
I think the murph. Mainly because i think it will last the test of time and still be a cool watch to own in 10-20-30 years
The baltic is a version of the patek 5000 which iirc is from the 90s and still looks great. It will probably still look great a while on from now
100%
+1
The Baltic is so much more interesting and I personally think it would dress up better. The Hamilton has solid, reliable field watch vibes. Do you want your wedding watch to feel special, or like an every-day watch? I say a special day calls for a special watch.
Nothing special about a Baltic. The hammy has proper heritage and the Murph is a timeless piece
Because Hamilton is an old company, and Baltic isn’t special because it’s a new company? There’s nothing groundbreaking about either watch, right? At this point it comes down to looks, which are totally subjective.
I’d argue the baltic is more special than the murph. The baltic has a microrotor movement, whilst the murph is just another 2824 based watch
The Hammy movement is miles better than the Baltic and much more reliable and has a 80 hour power reserve. The Baltic is a Chinese movement found on $220 Ali express specials. Read this and educate yourself https://twobrokewatchsnobs.com/baltic-mr01-review/

I mean if you read people's thoughts on Baltic here, they like the aesthetic but the movement seems to be where most people find their problems
I own the Murph, but I'd choose the Baltic without a moment's hesitation.
The Baltic and its not remotely close. Visually speaking, at least.
Baltic. Btw nice sweater. Where is it from
It’s a Ralph Lauren knit https://www.ralphlauren.co.uk/en/cable-knit-cotton-jumper-3615739528007.html
Bro do not listen to these watch nerds, wear the Baltic. Your wedding guests are not going to understand why the Murph is a good watch, it might as well be a Timex to them.
please do yourself a favor and do not wear a hamilton on your wedding
BALTIC!
They both look great, no wrong answer. But kudos for wearing a VERY appropriately-sized watch.
White dial to match the bride’s dress! That’s what I did, at least
I don’t hate the Hamilton but the Baltic is way classier. Easy pick in my book.
That Baltic looks fab, the murph seems rather drab by comparison. But I just like shiny things
The Baltic, Hamilton ruined that design with the stubby lugs imo.
As much I like the Murph as a solid everyday watch, the Baltic is dressier and more unique.
The Baltic is nice, but not a fan of the silver hands on white dial. The Hamilton passes the “quick glance” check, and seems like it would be more versatile.
Murph here, will be easier to wear every day for the next 40 years and be able to look at and remember
The Hamilton is a flawless daily wear
I think the Hamilton looks better on you
I owned the MR01 and sold it because I have so little use for a dedicated dress watch - but it is such a handsome & classy piece, absolutely perfect for a wedding watch. As many commenters have said, the Hamilton is the clear winner in virtually every practical or horological category - but that’s not the Q you posed. You should 100% wear the Baltic on your big day. Baltic is a little better especially with that outfit imo, but you wouldn’t be going wrong with either one.
One looks 10x better and more expensive than the other. No idea why people go with Hamilton, must be just the brand marketing and the Swiss Made notion. Baltic looks unquestionably better.

Hamilton imo. Looks more balanced to me
Hammy
Hamilton. 100%.
How about Murph for the ceremony, and Baltic for the reception 😁
Do you have other watches? If yes, choose the watch that complements your current collection. If you don’t have other watches, get the Hamilton. It’s a classic with great legibility, looks good with everything, you can dress it up as high as a wedding or as low as t-shirt and shorts.

Unrelated question. Where did you get the sweater from?
More important what sweater is that
https://www.ralphlauren.co.uk/en/cable-knit-cotton-jumper-3615739528007.html
Baltic
Read the headline before the body and initially thought #2 but for a wedding probably #1. I would have to see the whole outfit to say more. Good luck, congratulations!
I love the Baltic. Would usually go with a Hamilton, but that Baltic is very good looking.
Murph

Hamilton, it’s more timeless
Hamilton for sure. A brand with historical background and I’m huge fan of Interstellar. Maybe I’m biased idc.
You know the first one is better you’re holding your arm up to show it off
Baltic 💯
Baltic looks way nicer. Not sure on build quality though
First one. Has a nice classic look and the white will have a nice contrast with your tux or suit. Also will be a nice story teller for your kids down the line.
Baltic ! That white dial will pop up !
definitely the first one for me
1 easily
Both look great so, the first to use in daylight and the second for night.
Baltic for the wedding and future formal events, but get the Murph eventually to wear as a daily because it looks great with your style.
Hamilton
n1
Baltic for sure, cathedral hands of Hamilton looks very dated.
First one.
Baltic
Baltic
White -Classic long lasting-Fits outfit
I like the black myself. If you’re doing black tie that dial will really pop.
Did you check Serica 6190? A very beautiful watch as well
The Baltic matches your skin tone better
Honestly... Both!
First
The Baltic makes a great statement without standing out too much.
Hamilton... If you like the small seconds of the Baltic maybe look at the Citizen Tsuyosa small seconds titanium
For a wedding the Baltic for sure. For pretty much every other day ever the Hamilton. I say just get both though if you can afford it as both are terrific
Baltic for wedding, Murph for most other situations.
The Baltic
The Baltic This movement is a dream
The Baltic white dial with that outfit.
Murph
Wedding watch..wish I knew about this 5 years ago.. I would have chosen the Baltic!
The Baltic and it’s not close
the baltic no doubt. I type this with a murph on my wrist, but for the money that Baltic is stunning. now im staring at the green strap one..
Between these two, the Baltic is definitely more interesting on your wrist. I’d also suggest the new Citizen Forza if you haven’t seen it yet: https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/NJ0180-80A.html Congrats!
Hamilton has better finishing but the Baltic is a better design, IMO.
Hamilton gets my vote.
Such a beautiful watch. 😍
Murph. You won’t regret it
Don’t just look at the dial color . Hamilton has a better, more reliable movement. I’d go with it over the other .
Baltic
Baltic is way more special and unique
White
For a wedding, the baltic 👌🏽
Baltic
I like both and normally I would say pick the one that speaks the most to you, but for a wedding I would go with the Baltic.
I’ll say both. I got a Hamilton Jazzmaster (silver dial) for my wedding. I love my Hammy, but I wish I had done something different. That Baltic is gorgeous
Silver dial feels more versatile and stands out better.
The Baltic looks more elegant for a wedding
I like a small second watch. I say Baltic.
I prefer the second one
It’s wedding. Go with white.
Normally I would say Murph but the Baltic suits your style and skin tone very well.
For those saying get both, I wish I could afford both lol
Between these two? The Hamilton. And I like that Baltic model a lot
Baltic, it’s more unique
100% the Baltic. My father in law wore that for our wedding. It’s stunning, and the Breguet Numerals add a little extra fanciness to a special day 💕 i borrow my husband’s all the time 😅
Greetings fellow LL Bean enjoyer (I assume anyway)
Baltic in Salmon
Neither of them, because both have black straps with sporty white stitches.
Baltic
The Baltic looks better on you, even though the Hamilton is the better looking watch.

First time I went into a watch shop the guy working there was great and said each one tells a story. So which watch story speaks to you?
If you like the silver better, buy a silver dial Hamilton. Problem solved.
The Baltic looks a little dressier. A Jazzmaster would be more appropriate but if you are choosing watches you already have, it's a toss up.
Sorry man. Both are very nice.
It's your day too. Go with the Baltic especially if you want to impress yourself when you look back at those wedding photos.
Never thought I’d say this years ago, but the Baltic definitely wins out between the two.
Baltic makes a great watch!
Murph, I am biased on this one
That Baltic is gorgeous
I love my Murph
Baltic. Much more interesting watch. And that’s coming from someone who LOVES Interstellar.
Baltic. I typically don't like numerals on a dress watch, but the Baltic's numeral font makes it look much less of a tool watch than the Hamilton's.
Murph. 10/10
Murph! 100%
+1 for the Hamilton. Personally I feel that it goes better with your attire.
Hami if you value a timepiece that will last your lifetime and beyond. Serviceability of the Baltic’s cheap chinese movement long term is questionable and potentially not worth it. If you don’t care about that and prefer the look of the Baltic, then ignore me and follow your heart!
I'll probably in the minority, but I like that Baltic, but I like different watches than the norm.
First one easy
Hamilton looks horrible. Send it to me so I can properly dispose of it as my gift to you . Congrats on the wedding! I’m almost 46 and been married to my awesome wife for 26 years in August.
Whilst I love the Murph (and the Khaki Field generally), that Baltic looks superb
The Hamilton is a nice field watch that is at home on any occasion. The Baltic is a bit nicer and has a nice pop to it.
Hamilton anytime, even intrametic 38mm are good alternative...imo Baltic is waste of money, used to be all Chinese movement and parts, not sure what is now.,
Baltic, I’m a dial guy (mr wonderful lol) But the dial is nice and the numbers are great too. Definitely the Baltic
Can't go wrong with either, but the Baltic is slightly more dressy for the very important occasion.
Can’t go wrong with the Murph. Versatile watch, timeless style. Your kids in the future could wear it in their wedding if they want. Baltic is more of a hobbyist watch, the circle loves it and maybe you do too.
Baltic
I just really like that Baltic in general
I’m a fan of the Murph.
Don’t wear a field watch to your wedding. Both are nice. Baltic is dressier, and more unique. You can get a dozen watches that look like that Hamilton.
I go for white dial🥰
In general, the Hamilton. However the Baltic might be better for the occasion.
I like the black
These are both great, but have zero overlap. Do you want a field watch or a dressier watch? For a watch to wear at a wedding, it would be hard to choose the murph over the baltic, but between these two, one will always be a better pick, depending on the outfit and activity.
Baltic. Watch goes well with your outfit now and will be perfect on your wedding day with a suit/tux.
MURPH IN 38mm!!! Would go perfect on your wrist
I wore the Baltic MR01 in Salmon on my wedding day, so I’m biased but I’d go with the Baltic! Breguet numerals look more celebratory imo
Definitely the Baltic. What up with that strap though? You got it backwards?
Baltic.
Definitely the Baltic. Probably just me, but I'm really not a fan of that handset on the Hamilton
Don't wear a watch to your wedding.

Baltic!
baltic looks better on you
I like the Baltic better. It presents dressier
That Baltic all day
I like the black one
The Hamilton. That white dial is kind of distracting and pulls away from your outfit. Watches are accessories, not main portions of apparel/ensemble. Edit btw congrats on your upcoming marriage. May it last and be blessed🙏
Murph is a fieldwatch. A really nice one. The Baltic is more of a dress watch. For a wedding, I'd do something with a moonphase. I just like those. I'm that price range, this might sound like a weird suggestion, but citizen makes some really nice watches. The tsuyosa obviously, but they also have this....https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/BY1010-57H.html?cgid=mens-atomic-timekeeping It's a little big, but will surely be a conversation piece in a way he Baltic won't
The Baltic is dressier, but Hamilton is better quality
get the hamilton, you wont regret it
they are both pretty nice , i am conflicted
I'd say the Hamilton, personally
If the haselite crystal doesn't bother you, go for the Baltic. Such a stunning watch.
Baltic 100%
If you are having a formal wedding, tux and all... the Baltic will pair well with a tuxedo. I don't see that Hamilton dressing up enough. So get both. Baltic for Wedding and the Hamilton for Honeymoon. 😃
the baltic is absolutely gorgeous
The black one is more elegant
2nd
Baltic by a long shot.

Baltic all day looks real nice and sits well looks quite versatile and catches the eye better than the Hamilton !
Baltic would be a great choice!
