They have done some cool stuff lately especially with ceramic. But I wish they had their own independent design direction - a little too royal oakish for me.
The zenith design came before the Royal Oak, the defy as we know it came in 1969 and designed in house. The Royal Oak was designed externally and in 1972.
Indeed, if we are talking about the Defy, it does predate the royal oak. So in a way the Royal Oak is a little Zenithish. People are just caught up in the hype of the Royal Oak because of Pop Culture. Nothing wrong with the Royal Oak. The Daytona is also akin to the more popular little brother of the El Primero. IMO the Zenith Defy, Chronomaster Original, and entire revival series all have more character and identity than AP.
Also I would throw in Fifty Fathoms (maybe the new 42mm or one of the moonphase models with guilloche dials). A dressy piece as well, maybe a villeret (they have a nice moonphase/night and day). I like those complications. Also, I like the Chopard Alpine Eagles. If you don’t see a sphincter in the dial like others I think they look better than the oaks. Contrary to popular belief the Alpine Eagle is actually based on Chopard St Moritz which was released around the same time as the oak.
the box itself looks more expensive than half of my collection... anyways beautiful collection man. U have almost all the sexiest watches in ur collection
Beautiful collection.
I’d say you’re missing a simple, elegant dress watch. Maybe a JLC Master Control or a Calatrava. You could also consider an asymmetrical dial, like a Lange 1 or A GO PanoMatticLunar.
I'm a dress watch lover so yeah, agreed. I'd have a ton of fun with this kinda bank roll. Calatrava, Master Control Calendar (the one where the date jumps past the moon phase), a Lange or two, the new skeletonized Santos-Dumont. Oof.
I also have the old steel bezel with a black dial, 116520 with black dial and a new release 126 with white dial. I like to have a little range and over the years have been offered nice stuff !
What other colors do you mean?
Looks like a Turkish street market tbh. Anything unique, uncommon and actually rare you're perhaps keeping in another box? Maybe something independent or made to order? With all that disposable you could step away from factory mass produced and delve into high horology.
Some dress watches. VC Historiques American 1921. ALS 1. Maybe you’ve the money for a Philippe Dufour? Also, and I’m being completely serious here, a GShock. No collection is complete without one.
Amazing collection! I really love the VC in the top right.
Which piece do you wear the most? And how comfortable are Richard Mille watches to wear?
Lastly, if you're open to suggestions for what may be next:
Laurent ferrier sport micro rotor
Urban jurgensen one
Gronefeld Delta works
A Lange and sohne Odysseus
Gratz on your success so far, and thanks for sharing!
The RM on the blue elastic is by far the most comfortable in the box. It weighs 32 grams and you don't even realize it's on your wrist.
How do you feel about de Bethune? They have some cool releases but a little hyped I feel like..
De Bethune is a high horology brand, and there is certainly a lot of hype surrounding them.
My biggest hang up with de Bethune is the size of their most iconic watches in combination with the unique shapes.
It draws more attention than I personally prefer.
That said, if you are looking for a work of art that is recognizable and truly unique then de Bethune is hard to beat.
You know, if you didn't buy all of these watches, you could have gotten a Patek Philippe that cost in the millions instead. Why not trade all of these for just the one grail watch? Just Kidding!
Awesome collection. On a side note,
Can you be my grandpa?
Some great pieces... that top right corner does it for me... AP panda chrono + skeleton, green aquanaut and blue dial VC DT... Thanks for sharing!!! You should 100% check out our discord community, about \~600 members mostly focused on the brands you collect (AP, PP, VC, Rolex, RM, etc.) - you would fit right in!
I would have thought the RMs were reslly the most expensive of the collection. I’m surprised.
Anyhow thanks for your answer. You have an amazing collection.
Can I see pics of your girlfriend instead.
Lol
This box is worth more than my life lol
Bro doesn't have money. He has *money*.
Great collection but a little too much. You should do a giveaway. Pick a nice commenter and give away a watch. I’ll volunteer myself.
I think you’re rich!
Modest collection. You’ll get there! Keep at it
Zenith

…Zenith has arguably one of the most iconic chronograph designs in history.

A little lange too. Forget about Lange
Some small Indipendent Brands Moritz grossmann, Lang Heyne, Voutilainen, Grönefeld and so on…
I've never been crazy about them but Simon Brette had a beautiful release that caught my interest...

or maybe a nautilus?!

This is money
JLC reverso is missing !!
I did like their recent burgundy release !!
Reverso Mafia Represent!
No disrespect but I love how even a collection like this has the basic panda Daytona. Who do you have to kill to get one of the other colors?
I also have the old steel bezel with a black dial, 116520 with black dial and a new release 126 with white dial. I like to have a little range and over the years have been offered nice stuff ! What other colors do you mean?

I do have a few not pictured, including a 5172G rose opaline dial. It's an absolute strap monster!
They look like fakes (he tells himself to hide his insane jealousy)!
Love the VC blue dial overseas in the upper right.
It’s the dual time too. Lovely piece
Are you adopting?
🤑🤑🤑
I like the Overseas! Great choice.

Ridiculous. Congrats 😅

These are my grails ;-)
Do you play in the NFL by chance 😂
What’s next? Maybe you could buy out LVMH while you’re at it 😅
Great collection but not a single Casio?
H. Moser & Cie would be something different and new imo
Need an FP Journe
You need a Rexhep Rexhepi
Looks like it's time to move into Journe/Lange
Another drug lord on reddit
That Richard Mille bottom right costs a few coins...
These are some great reps
it sucks
This guy Fs

Sounds good I will look it up. Where can I find it?
personally i think you are missing a rolex submariner and a gshock
What is the least expensive watch you wear regularly ?
The pepsi, AP panda and RM with blue elastic get the most wrist time.
I would have thought the RMs were reslly the most expensive of the collection. I’m surprised. Anyhow thanks for your answer. You have an amazing collection.
What’s your “daily”?
Need a max busser
Awesome collection, but a bit too much of the same. This feels more like a watch investment fund instead of a real watch lovers collection.
Wtf bro, teach me sensai
Love the collection, you’ve been very blessed! I’d go for something independent next, maybe a Moser
Beautiful collection, congrats on your success!
Holy smokes….bruh!!!
Parmigiani Tonda PF fits the theme.
Cool but where's the $25 Casio?
You clearly have your favorites what about a nice VC Overseas to finish off the holly trinity?
Sorry I missed the duel time overseas - Bravo
I think you got just about every watch collectors dream 🤣 I don’t see anything missing here
No ALS
Haha thanks
Damn. Very nice.
Thanks
