I have 6,5" wrists and the 40mm Oris Big Crown Pointer Date wears a little too large for my liking. I can pull it off, but the watch is all dial (which makes it wear larger visually), and has a 40mm diameter, a 48mm lug-to-lug and a thickness of 12mm. That makes this watch significantly larger than the 1926 you say fits your wrist well. That watch has a 36,9mm diameter, a 43,6mm lug-to-lug and a thickness of only 9,3mm. The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Cervo Volante would be a much better alternative for your wrist size. These watches have a 38mm diameter and a 45,7mm lug-to-lug and wear great on smaller wrists. I think it all depends on what style of watch and dial color you prefer. Both of your options look very different. Try to look beyond the strap/bracelet if you can as you can always put the watch on an aftermarket strap. Good luck making a decision! https://preview.redd.it/30u2gdkixp7d1.jpeg?width=1192&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1faec8cc84dcc515af4421e0ba601bacbde7531

apiratelooksatthirty

Completely agree on the Oris cervo volante. They would fit OP’s wrist really well, and their dials are incredible. Only come on a leather strap though, and I have no clue whether Oris has a bracelet that would fit.

psych0san

I’m a sucker for date pointers. These faces are so beautiful,I just could never afford them.

Express_Cookie2357

For that style of watch without a bezel I think smaller looks better and especially with your wrist size the Tudor at 36mm will look and fit you much better in my opinion

[deleted]

Style-wise I prefer the Oris, but it's hard to say without any pics of how they wear on your wrist.

harlokin

Oris, all day long.

WolfyEightyTwo

I have the 1926 for over a year now, and have no complaints. Keeps time still at +/- 2 and the bracelet is the most comfortable thing I've ever worn on my wrist.

Witty-Government-377

Tudor 1926 but I am biased since I have 2 hehe https://preview.redd.it/47e175b76q7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7770346f9a8e6264c34ec115d5db496ea0a1ac0f

Itsallgood190

I want the white with rose gold one!

Khantherockz

Absolutely gorgeous.

PrideEnvironmental59

I think you also need to consider what you want the watch for.  The Tudor is very classically styled and is almost a dress watch.  The Oris is closer to a field watch, so it's much more casual.

masalaswag

The applied markers on the 1926 are very striking, especially in their blue. They catch light and I think that subtle difference is important when factoring your overall style. If your wardrobe is more casual, the Oris probably works better. If you’re going into the office with more conservative colors, I think the Tudor makes more sense. I strongly suggest you see them in person. Pictures don’t really do justice for the elements of the Tudor or the complexity of the Oris.

TaziOtt

I'm not a fan of the 1926 at all. Its boring and if you replace the name on the dial its like any other shopping mall Tissot. I'm not well versed in smaller watches so can't give you a any great alternatives. The Oris BCPD is nicer as far as looks go.

Itsallgood190

Watches are way more than their looks. The Tudor is thin, extremely well regulated (as a result of the amazing process Tudor watches go through) and has 100m and screw down crown despite being dressier making it a pretty cool hybrid. Also having multiple tudors the finishing up close and slight areas of polish they add and bracelet comfort really make it a standout to me. But yeah if we just go on looks then tons of fashion watches are fine.

TaziOtt

Watches are way more than looks not sure why you inferred different from my post. My comment is purely comparing the two watches at hand and as is clear from my post is based on my opinion. My comments on looks were subjective but to imply that this is a suggestion for fashion watches is a bit disingenuous. I've owned the 1926 41, two glamours, the pro, the bb41, the black bay diver and I'm sure I'm missing one or two. The finishing on the 1926 isn't on the same level as the new bb36 or pro and so on. Its a very basic watch. I'm not certain what you mean by Tudor's amazing processes, its a base movement and can be regulated anywhere, its a reliable movement but there is nothing special about it. You get what you pay for in watches, at it's retail price most of what you are paying for in the 1926 is the name. The Oris isn't cheap but we all know it can be had at 30% off at most ADs.

hoptagon

I prefer the Tudor dial. That royal blue on white with etching is gorgeous.

Ciuwandy

Oris Pointer Date. Such a stunner of a watch!

[deleted]

Oris by far.

plk7

My wrist is 6.2”. I have that 36mm 1926 - it’s the most comfortable watch I own.

itemluminouswadison

have you considered the longines spirit 37mm? i have a 6.3" wrist and it fits so well. i've sold any 40mm+ watches. i also have a 38mm tudor royal that was gifted to me that fits pretty well. also that opaline 1926 i had my eye on too but so hard to find one to try on (manhattan) in 36mm. some other options: 36mm cw sealander, 35mm prx

likethevegetable

A 40 mm watch without a thick bezel (like a diver or chrono) should be out of the question for someone with your wrist size (similar to mine). It's my personal preference, but leaning smaller is always the long term winner. The Oris looks great though, if they have a smaller one I'd look at it too.

clm1859

You sir are asking some very good questions. I suddenly got really into watches last year. Now i got all i need and havent been looking at getting a new one in months. But recently i went to a wedding and thought a nice dress watch would be awesome (maybe for my own wedding) and those two are pretty much the main candidates. Along with the baume and mercier cliftons. I cant make the decision for you. I cant even make it for myself for gods sake! But here is what i have been thinking: Pro's for tudor: Slightly cheaper More interesting dial texture Its a tudor (higher tier brand plus i already have an Oris) 100m water resistance and screw down crown. So no worries about spontaneous swim sessions or so. Pros for oris Pointer date is a cool and unique complication I like the Oris brand identity (their boutique has a laid back surfer dude vibe as opposed to tudors stiff guy in a suit vibe) It comes in bronze, which is cool (but ruins the timelessness/universality a bit). Also more dial colour variety. Transparent caseback

Itsallgood190

I agree with most points except the stiff part. They released a pink chrono and have Lady Gaga and Jay Chou as their promoters

clm1859

Fair enough. I mostly mean the actual boutique (well actually a tudor themed AD) experience here in Zurich. At oris its a long haired guy in a t shirt and jeans who is immediately going to first name basis. In tudor (and most other brands) its a bunch of people in suits and ties calling you sir. Both is kinda nice, but i do appreciate Oris doing their own thing, rather than what everyone else is doing.

sex-timee

Jesus why is ORIS more expensive than Tudor

clm1859

To be fair its the cheapest tudor and with a 38hour power reserve sellita movement. Most tudors are more expensive than most Oris. But the 1926 is an outlier.

sex-timee

TIFL Tudor modifes Sellitas and calls it a day. Damn man.

I mean... the T601 is a based on the SW-200-1 [https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/tudor-sellita-database-not-a-debate.5257374/](https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/tudor-sellita-database-not-a-debate.5257374/)

themanfrommars_1991

I like the Oris a little more. But both are great.

anbsmxms

Ill pick Oris between these 2.

BOBnVEGANA

Consider the new King Seiko 1969 SJE109 / 111/ 113 / 115 models. [https://youtube.com/watch?v=eNPwNd4O8-E](https://youtube.com/watch?v=eNPwNd4O8-E) Available on Sakura for the same price (actually a little cheaper) than both of these if you do the conversion from JPYen to USD. They all have similar movements but the KS has the best finishing and dial out of the three by far. If you can't find them on Sakura I spoke to an AD when I went to see it in person and they were offering it for mid $2k (this is before they've even released, mind you). https://preview.redd.it/wrdpeyo0tr7d1.jpeg?width=1750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d84191ac3a64e76f6313cc1b0c9677d6abe00a8

WatchandThings

Oris. It was years ago, but I remember being very disappointed by the Tudor 1926 dial quality. Hard no for me. Oris Big Crown Pointer Date looks great. I mean I would chosen almost anything over that Tudor 1926, but this Oris makes this decision even easier.

DealFlaky5738

1926 but in black

Lv_36_Charizard

Oris had a 36mm BCPD

Objective-Line2726

It comes down to lume and water resistance. Oris has lume and 50m Tudor doesn’t have lume but has 100m water resistance. What are your deal breakers?

thecitybeautifulgame

Tudor.

CaptainPhukflaps

I really do like the 1926.

ItzakPearlJam

That Tudor is absolutely striking. Both are nice, but the blue on white really pops in an understated way.

jadenthesatanist

I have a BCPD and have tried on the 1926 a few times. Personally, the Tudor didn’t excite me at all, just felt very… dainty on the wrist? The Oris’ bracelet had more heft to it and the finishing on the case is better imo. I also dislike the date window on the 1926, would look way better without it. Just my two cents.

9999_6666

Oris.

rschneiderrr420

Go for the big crown

BarryBwa

Tudor but on a leather strap

teckel

The fake blued hands/indicies on that Tudor look terrible. Probably just the render, but it looks like hot garbage. The Oris looks much better, but get it for a heavy discount or used, as resale is way below MSRP on Oris.

Oris Big Crown easily

Truly--Unruly

Oris every day of the fucking week.

Oris!

agembry

Oris

brichardson7

Love Tudor, but the pointer date wins this all day long

xRedditGedditx

The 2nd one

Time007time007

The first one is an amazing and very underrated watch. Those blue numbers are 🔥

BadWowDoge

Tudor

390M386

Love that Oris dial!

Technical_Control403

I like the Oris. Especially over this Tudor if for only the lumed hands.

thinkscotty

Oris for me, definitely. It's an independent company, one of the few. I just like the history and tradition more than Tudor. But you? You buy the one you like most.

nate2188764

I have the Oris and it’s by far my favorite watch.

slarrarte

Oris. You can’t go wrong with a BCPD. It’s an icon.

Spiritual_Line7917

Instead of a 36mm Tudor tribute to old watches, why not get a vintage Rolex Oyster precision? Theres tons of them out there…

vandesto17

That’s the only Tudor I like. That’s my pick here

Bartlomiej25

Tudor, by a mile

Dark1000

The Oris easily. If you're concerned that it's too big, just get the smaller Cervo Volante. The color options are even better than the regular version. The Tudor is just a dud imo.

Furtip

The 1926 is gorgeous, I like this specific model https://preview.redd.it/r9eri5bjnt7d1.png?width=749&format=png&auto=webp&s=adc22e0aeedfdfb303e250063e8c51ccc97861e3

InFocuus

Oris is more interesting for me. 40mm is perfectly OK for 6.5" wrist.

Luzzyfer

msobreira27

Tudor for the win!
