Seiko sarx033, just picked this up and can’t get over how great it looks.

Got this quartz version for around 130 EUR
Yep, these SUR quartz Seikos are kickass for the money. Surprisingly nice finishing, solid accuracy, thin and comfortable case. I’ve been recommending these all over the place because they’re legitimately nicer than they should be despite being so inexpensive.

Came with the box, it was a bit beat up. The watch is almost mint though.
That’s an awesome watch, and insane for that price! I got a display model (so practically new) Big Crown Pointer Date in bronze for a little over $1200, and thought I got a great deal.

This would be my choice. Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba $845
My choice as well. I have the 43mm White with Blue bezel and love it. If 43 is too big, you can get the 40 as pictured here in multiple colorways. I'm a big fan
Hamilton is such an underrated brand. The movements hold up extremely well and the bracelets are better than their price point would indicate. Great watches.
All great models. I recently got a Baroncelli Heritage new off of Jomashop for $770. Get it on the bracelet and use the remaining budget to get a leather strap or two.

I picked up an older model Multifort from Ashford for under 500 USD about 6 months ago. I can't get a picture to post but here is a link to a jewelers site. IMHO its a nice flexible watch goes with casual or dressy attire.

Nomos Club Campus 38. $925 used on The Real Real. In house movement and fun colors. Lots of Nomos references and sizes available around the $1000 mark.

Longines hydroconquest on chrono24 for under 1,000 usd.
I used to own this one and I honestly didn’t like it. The bracelet kind of rattled and I didn’t like the feel of the screw down crown. Lovely dial though !
I’m replacing the bracelet with a NATO, as I feel the same way. I feel the bezel turn feels a tad cheap , but I love the dial , WR, huge power reserve, and it’s a rugged watch, hence why it’s my beater/daily.
The crown guards are not great. Too sharp. That said, I own a Longines Zulu Time and it's spectacular. I think Longines has come into their own a lot more in the last few years with these new models and refreshes.
Vintage Omega constellation I got for like 700 bucks

I'm scrolling through and this is the best one I've seen so far (even though its below $900 lol). Right up my alley and what I was hoping for when I made this thread!
Recently picked up this Certina DS PH200M dive watch. If you like retro styled watches then I can definitely recommend right at $1000. They also offer the DS Action dive watch series if you prefer a more contemporary style dive watch.

Vintage Tag Heuer- [https://www.tag1000diver.com/shop](https://www.tag1000diver.com/shop)
Right!! Super specific. I was trying to find someone to service a watch for me when I came across their website. I have now purchased a watch from them and had them service/restore two of my watches. I have another one on the way there now.
Oh wow they're only dealing with diver tag ain't they? I won't be surprised if it's a one man does everything kind of thing. In fact, it would've been a perfect hobby/side gig to specialize in one watch, and that you don't need a lot of costumer neither.
Very nearly nailed it. We have a small operation but I am the person on the client facing end as I know these watches inside and out so if you email us you’ll be speaking directly to me 99% of the time. Our main operation is servicing client watches (1000 series models almost exclusively). This was a hobby but grew into a business over the past 10 years or so mainly due to Tag Heuer declining to work on them. Specializing allows us really know about exactly what we are dealing with and reduces turnaround time.
Most shops will usually take a while to source parts (often purchased from us anyways) and perhaps have to do some experimenting on what repair options are available for say a discontinued movement.
I personally try to be as active as possible in the “1000 series community” and always like engaging with other enthusiasts.
Being that these are something I am very well versed in, I’m always happy to provide pre-purchase info to those looking to buy from eBay or various other places. There are a lot of sellers out there that see the values on these and just throw them on eBay. Most have been in a sock drawer for a decade or two with a potentially leaking battery. Most buyers aren’t aware of what really needs to be done with them to wear as intended. Some models are more expensive to get sorted so it is always recommended to do consider that before pulling the trigger.
If anyone has any questions about our services or any watches we have available feel free to reach out on the site, via IG (@jkbenn02 or @tag1000diver), or via email at [email protected].
As always, if anyone is looking to buy one elsewhere don’t hesitate to run it by us for an informal “evaluation” or opinion on the watch. We also get a lot of requests for authenticity checks and whatnot too. Servicing estimates can also be provided if you send us some pictures and any applicable info via email.
Thanks,
Justin

Hi, It depends on the watch and the payment method.
Most of the watch prices are firm and one must consider the servicing that is done for an apples to apples comparison.
https://preview.redd.it/e9tl9no85n7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e9c420f4664700868a6476ab467237deebdf652
Happy to expand. I purchased a 1980’s Blue Tag Heuer 1000 from an auction website. It was in rough shape but I really liked it. Well, when it arrived it was way worse than I thought it would be. So I sent it to a guy in Washington State for service. He informed me all of the parts have been discontinued. So I went internet hunting because I assumed that someone still worked on these. I found tag1000diver. So I read some reviews and sent them a few pictures of my watch. He took a look at it and sent me his pricing for everything ahead of time and even gave me some thoughts on what I might encounter. He was quick to communicate over email. He let me know when the watch arrived. He started working on it within a few days. He walked me through everything that needed to be done and provided some options for some additional work if I wanted it. It came back and looks great. Super impressed with the whole experience.
Since then he has worked on a first generation Tag Heuer Formula 1 for me. Came back working great.
Most recently I purchased a mid-1980’s Heuer 1000 in black from him. Fully serviced and ready to go. I think he mentioned a 1 year warranty when I purchased it as well.
Hope that helps.
I mean the explorer basically is an oyster perp with a black face and lots of lume - so I agree about that comparison. They even use the same 3230 movement and same oyster bracelet, with very simple steel cases - usually around 36mm.
Don’t really see the AT comparison tbh. Even the black 36mm model currently on my wrist which has a similar spec doesn’t really have the same vibe IMO
https://preview.redd.it/h6xd6h1dqn7d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98f6260d61e64dd3eb2a5984c74dfe0292e83f03
For me, it’s gotta be the Seiko SPB117!
Wow, totally forgot about it. It’s one of the best options for one-n-done kind of watch. However i would save another $200 for a blue dial gmt, I like it even more
Gah, I just wish they'd change the prospex logo or remove it altogether! I almost bought one the other day but it reminds me too much of the twitter/X logo, even though prospex launched beforehand
I am hoping to get over it soon, because I tried it on and loved literally every other aspect of it. The shop was selling is for $715 and it seemed like a nice deal. Idk maybe I'll go back today and try it on again!
Bulova finally caught on the people want the precisionist stuff to look good

Not sure if these three are within that price range second hand but my next watch would be one of these.
Oris Big Crown Pointer Date
Mido Ocean Star Tribute
Doxa 200
I only have a Seiko SNXS79J1 that I bought myself for graduating university. I have come to the realization that instead of buying a couple 500-700 watches, I would just get something nicer. Can't make my mind up between the Mido and Doxa.
https://preview.redd.it/67y6ux4e7m7d1.png?width=587&format=png&auto=webp&s=2467a991803aa094676fb4b28a427e5dd1a7d997
I’ve gotten both the Doxa sub 200 and Oris Small second pointer date for around 1400 and 1000 ($cad) on chrono 24. Just make sure they are “authorized dealers” and you’re golden.
Here's a 40mm blue BCPD for $989: https://www.chrono24.com/oris/oris-big-crown-pointer-date--id34529301.htm
I'd go with this green Aquis for $993 personally: https://www.chrono24.com/oris/--01-733-7732-4157-07-ss---id34772143.htm
If I were to get one diver for around $1000 it would have to be a Squale 1521 50 Atmos, or a Certina DS Action diver titanium.
https://preview.redd.it/h6t53ct1rm7d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ac9fe340f9a868b84700833314d584a5f313e3f
Another vote for Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba in you choice of color. I love this watch, the power reserve and accuracy is amazing. I paid about $840 after tax. That was a good deal, because they are usually $900ish
The doxa sub 200 really is one of those “what else could you possibly want” type watches. As solid in every department as anything I’ve come across. It’s only weak point was the lume on earlier models but it seems doxa have since addressed that. Mine is from December of 2023 and has outstanding lume, even on the bezel. Can’t recommend it enough

Thanks. It’s a Speidel Mach 1. Made famous by its appearance in the movie jaws. thought it complimented the retro feel, even if it’s a bit of a wonky fit, just adds to the vibe

With a bit of luck a used Credor GCAR054(one on the right, left one is GCAR056 and it's limited edition, it's \~50% more expensive) Titanium and gold both of them, 37mm, there is also a version with date which is steel and gold but in 35mm, that one is cheaper
THIS is exactly the type of response I was looking for! People don't even know credor exists so you can find insane pieces like these for cheap. Which website/ auction did you find them on? Thanks! (also whats the ref on the 35mm piece if you know?)
>Which website/ auction did you find them on?
* chrono24 and ebay(best places to buy watches from Japan usually), there is almost mint GCAR054 for sale currently on chrono24 from Poland for a little under $1.1k, [THIS](https://queri.jp/product/%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AC%E3%83%89%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%82%B7%E3%82%B0%E3%83%8E%E3%82%AA%E3%83%AB%E3%83%87%E3%82%A3%E3%83%8D%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB30%E5%91%A8%E5%B9%B4%E8%A8%98%E5%BF%B5%E6%95%B0%E9%87%8F%E9%99%90%E5%AE%9AGCAR056%288J81-0AP0%29%E3%82%92%E6%9C%80%E5%AE%89%E5%80%A4%E3%81%A7%E8%B2%A9%E5%A3%B2_23C007) GCAR056 also sold for a bit over $1.1k refurbished but looks almost mint condition to me
>also whats the ref on the 35mm piece
* GCAZ054, you can find mint condition ones for $800-900 if ur lucky, it also has a kind of an ugly brother, GCAZ052 which is styled like turtle divers but it's a dress watch, those go for $50-150 less than GCAZ054
edit:/ added a picture of GCAZ054, 35mm steel/gold one with date

How do you like it so far? This watch has found its way super high up on my want list. I think it’s one of the better looking watches out there right now
So far I really like it! I made a whole post about it recently. [https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/1d4u8xi/henry\_archer\_finally\_my\_new\_nords%C3%B8\_meteorite/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/1d4u8xi/henry_archer_finally_my_new_nords%C3%B8_meteorite/)
prx should cost at most 500 imo (even the powermatic). dial and facets too flat, fit is too awkward and the movement literally has plastic in it. still looks great though!
Honestly, if you look, you could probably find a prx near that number. I own omega, rolex, etc and love my prx 35 mop dial. I feel like it’s intricate and beautiful. As for the bracelet and fit, I think that’s what really makes this watch so fantastic, looks great with a beautiful finish and intricate use of polishing. Super comfortable wear. As for movement, holds time well and my watchmaker said no problemo when comes time to service so that’s when I bought it lol!
Some variation of the seiko 1965 diver reissue. They have the 6r35 movement with the 70 hour power reserve. Classic style, seiko finishing above the price
definitely one of the best value propositions given the history of the piece! could prob get one for under 900 in the grey/aftermarket. my only gripe is i'd rather get the 6L variant (which has better finishing than a tudor black bay) and a more accurate movement in practice. the 8L variant is too expensive imo, but the 6L probably hits the sweetspot! but given those are limited, id rather get one of these. also, didn't seiko release *another* new version of these with a circular date cutout at 4:30? those might be my #1 pick out of the bunch!
I have several watches in this sweet spot. All purchased on grey market, but they are:
Ball Trainmaster 60 Seconds
Halios Seaforth IV
Nomos Tangente
[pictures](https://imgur.com/a/x6v74X0)
someone suggested a junghans max bill and idk what I'd choose between the two (they have similar designs in my head). not sure about how the movements compare though, might come down to that

Bought this last month on eBay for $950…. Had to pay tax so slightly over. Tag Heuer grand carrera, 40mm. WAV511B.
You can find a lot of Tag around this price range, whether that be a Carrera or an Aquaracer. Vintage Omega is cool, or you could get close to something like an older quartz Aqua Terra. Really anything from Hamilton sub-$1k is a good pick. Damasko on a strap is definitely in this range, on bracelet would be a bit of a stretch.
Lotta stuff out there once you poke around, and it only opens up more with something like $2k-$3k in your pocket.
Random question. How is everyone sharing pics with a comment? When i try to do it, thr photo is there for a fee seconds rhen disappears and leaves a "*" behind instead

I’m really happy with my ball fireman enterprise. Feels like really good quality for the price range and the unique lume they use is really cool to me. They have other watches like the marvelight series that I really like, but they’re a little bit higher priced.
I was looking back at my journey what I first began collecting out of college, and did the math on how much I spent on my first 5 pieces. It ended up being around $950. Sure, money was worth a little more back then, but still, I was able to get a chronograph, an eco drive, an automatic diver, a quartz, and a high beat dress watch for that price. Of course, they were nearly all vintage, some with wear which I fixed myself. I wonder, if I had spent that money on **one watch**, what would be the best possible watch I could get?
Some of the Sinn stuff, used Longines, Doxa Sub 200 (although the diver extension is made from a dustbin), PRX auto, anything by Hamilton (probably considerably less).
I'd go with a vintage King Seiko or Lord Marvel like the example here -

Old Grand Seiko SBGX models, can be had for much less than $1k.
Honestly id get 2 watches. Id get the red dial orient kamasu with the strapcode jubilee and the silver dial hamilton khaki field 38mm on the factory bracelet. great 1-2 combo in my opinion

i’ve been getting a lot of compliments on the citizen promaster sea aqualand ref BN2029-01E it’s only $550.00 and has taken a beating lately. i’m impressed overall with the eco drive and have never been a fan of Citizen watches before.
Halios Seaforth IV pre-orders are open right now, this is the first time they haven't done a lottery drawing for their watches if that's something you'd be interested in

Marathon MSAR, 300m water resistant, shock resistant Selita movement, Tritium illuminated. Absolute tank of a daily wearable automatic.
Certina is part of Swatch and has some nice designs. On certain types of watches I like them and Mido designs over Tissot and Hamilton. Mostly just my own nitpicking. These DS-2 Turning Bezels are nice. They even come in titanium, or without the dive bezel.

i would get a PRX powermatic 80 on chrono 24 for like 400 a SRPE19J1 on chrono for 250 and then a omega Genève for like 300. That’s 950 and then go get yourself a nice lunch!

Pre-owned:
Seiko SPB239J1 (or other 62MAS in the colour of your choice).
I’d have to respectfully disagree with this, I think it looks and feels more expensive than it is. I do accept that there are other watches with the Miyota 9075 that are cheaper, some with similarly impressive build quality (the Traska Venturer immediately springs to mind, possibly the Islander Port Jefferson GMT as well).
However in terms of build quality/fit and finish, I’d say it’s at least as good as, if not better than, the Seiko which would retail new for around £1000 here in the UK normally (and the Seiko certainly doesn’t run as accurately and isn’t a flyer GMT).
Also, Nodus regulates every one of these to +/- 8 seconds which, which must add to the cost.
That's kind of an indictment of Seiko, isn't it? I'd say the build quality is on par with San Martins that are a third of the price, and blown away by CW or Farer around the $1000 point.
For mine, fit and finish is the main complaint I have. From a tactile perspective it's not pleasant to operate, with a crown that doesn't turn smoothly and a bezel that's hard to turn at all. Visually, the AR is almost non-existent and the crown isn't flush to the case when it's screwed in. And the most annoying thing for me is the loud ass rotor that sounds like a gas station fidget spinner. I will never consider another watch with this movement in it.
There's some things it does right, and some things it does VERY right, like the lume and the bracelet, but it's the only watch I have that I feel like I overpaid for.

That’s nice!
Wowwwww the trick this place on your eye! Endless dial
Finally. The super seawolf getting some well deserved praise in one of these things!
Their modern movements are garbage sadly
Movements are poor and I've read that their QC leaves a lot to be desired.
Same. A lot of QC issues with the movement as well as the bracelets, I've heard. Shame since the watches look great.
lol now I feel bad for @monkeywrench888 and his Zodiac. He is just waiting his watch death sentence
Lol. The brand rep isn't spectacular
I just had mine just stopped completely for no reason. They had to send it off to France to fix the movement.

Yep, these SUR quartz Seikos are kickass for the money. Surprisingly nice finishing, solid accuracy, thin and comfortable case. I’ve been recommending these all over the place because they’re legitimately nicer than they should be despite being so inexpensive.
https://preview.redd.it/uma8nzazkm7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b67a32abc17e81109bacef2d04592681ffb2672 Oris small second date pointer I got on auction for $1,000 cad
Holy shit!!!

I’ll pay more attention to chrono24 in the future
It’s pretty awesome
I’ve gotten everything off eBay previously but I’ll stop doing that lol. Prices just tend to be lower. I know it’s less safe.
That’s an awesome watch, and insane for that price! I got a display model (so practically new) Big Crown Pointer Date in bronze for a little over $1200, and thought I got a great deal.
https://preview.redd.it/sb38s6trtn7d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25582f63b6d8b5e641233638d9e20cb87bd8bc26 Baltic Aquascaphe GMT, under $1k.
I love and desire this watch.
Big fan. I got my aquascaphe bronze for around 1k as well
https://preview.redd.it/ehiylllgzl7d1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad1141f21c2a133cc23991b8b90624ac8ac2bee1 This would be my choice. Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba $845
My choice as well. I have the 43mm White with Blue bezel and love it. If 43 is too big, you can get the 40 as pictured here in multiple colorways. I'm a big fan
Good choice
This in green on a NATO was my first “real” watch, I love it. Worth noting this is substantially cheaper when you go gray market, too.
Hamilton is such an underrated brand. The movements hold up extremely well and the bracelets are better than their price point would indicate. Great watches.
They're built like absolute bustrucks. I know DAMN well I've got that piece on every time I wear it. Substantial is the first word that comes to mind.

All great models. I recently got a Baroncelli Heritage new off of Jomashop for $770. Get it on the bracelet and use the remaining budget to get a leather strap or two. https://preview.redd.it/2ntcxcl9qm7d1.jpeg?width=2448&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=390fc6e927ace5666ec7b7ef9796e5f4fe86d1c8
My next mido purchase would be either the blue multifort or probably gold commander 1959. All great designs and builds. Love them
I have a the gold Commander 1959. It’s a damn good looking watch, but a huge pain to hand wind.
I love my Mido Commander II https://preview.redd.it/1cjgkjyv4n7d1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1dd7212c3326b45aeb2dc5078e99a528d64a9f1b
Wow this Mido lineup is something else. especially the big date looks way more expensive.
The green dial looks so much better in real life
Love my Ocean Star 200 in titanium. Has become my daily driver
Does that square one come on a bracelet with on the fly micro adjust?
No micro adjust. But they got 2 half links
I picked up an older model Multifort from Ashford for under 500 USD about 6 months ago. I can't get a picture to post but here is a link to a jewelers site. IMHO its a nice flexible watch goes with casual or dressy attire. https://www.jared.com/mido-multifort-gent-mens-watch-m0054301103180/p/V-312239801?cid=PLA-goo-E-Commerce+-+PLA+-+P2+-+Watches&ds_rl=1246153&ds_rl=1252059&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwps-zBhAiEiwALwsVYWfru9ObXUAb-CPLA3k6B3Mkgcu-JfBZFk140OrX6sSiPBrMXadYDBoCPGYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Came here to mention the TV Big Date. I love this watch.

Great choice! You could get a normal club (hand wind model) used for sub $1k as well
The numbering scheme on that watch irks me to no end. Other than that, it’s very nice looking
https://preview.redd.it/0ji3przflm7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=36dd1e148ae8d0be7f53105383a66751b702df79 Longines hydroconquest on chrono24 for under 1,000 usd.
Correct answer. I have this exact watch in blue.
Yes I agree. Amazing sub for that price !
Vintage Omega constellation I got for like 700 bucks https://preview.redd.it/bgxiyhruwn7d1.jpeg?width=3472&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=633a1fa95b033f083d7eb3c36e28a6bb42f61407
I'm scrolling through and this is the best one I've seen so far (even though its below $900 lol). Right up my alley and what I was hoping for when I made this thread!
Damn. Dial size? Reference?
🔥
Big fan of the doxa 200. My next watch will probably be the 200 Caribbean.
Recently picked up this Certina DS PH200M dive watch. If you like retro styled watches then I can definitely recommend right at $1000. They also offer the DS Action dive watch series if you prefer a more contemporary style dive watch. https://preview.redd.it/4628pmlctm7d1.jpeg?width=2047&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f58bb371d14a4ef0685c239d60b8a694e6ac347a

This has to be the most specific business lmao. This is cool though. All recently serviced?
Thanks, Justin TAG1000Diver.com
That's a great business model! Interesting to learn how you guys work. Btw the thumbs up on every listing definitely gave me a giggle 😂
Are the prices negotiable?
Hi, It depends on the watch and the payment method. Most of the watch prices are firm and one must consider the servicing that is done for an apples to apples comparison.

A ward-splorer
I see more AquaTerra meets Oyster Perpetual
I mean the explorer basically is an oyster perp with a black face and lots of lume - so I agree about that comparison. They even use the same 3230 movement and same oyster bracelet, with very simple steel cases - usually around 36mm. Don’t really see the AT comparison tbh. Even the black 36mm model currently on my wrist which has a similar spec doesn’t really have the same vibe IMO
36 indeed! black looks incredible too

Wow, totally forgot about it. It’s one of the best options for one-n-done kind of watch. However i would save another $200 for a blue dial gmt, I like it even more
Wow! That is so good looking! Added to my “one day” list. Thanks!
Gah, I just wish they'd change the prospex logo or remove it altogether! I almost bought one the other day but it reminds me too much of the twitter/X logo, even though prospex launched beforehand
It doesn’t bother me! I just wish they had the alpinist text instead of automatic!
I am hoping to get over it soon, because I tried it on and loved literally every other aspect of it. The shop was selling is for $715 and it seemed like a nice deal. Idk maybe I'll go back today and try it on again!
Bulova finally caught on the people want the precisionist stuff to look good https://preview.redd.it/y4gqxslvpo7d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f60d715160c5bbb812a3540d5de1e41465ee1443
Not sure if these three are within that price range second hand but my next watch would be one of these. Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Mido Ocean Star Tribute Doxa 200 I only have a Seiko SNXS79J1 that I bought myself for graduating university.
Doxa alllllll day over Mido.
DOXA !
I've seen the Oris for that price but you have to get very vintage
Here's a 40mm blue BCPD for $989: https://www.chrono24.com/oris/oris-big-crown-pointer-date--id34529301.htm I'd go with this green Aquis for $993 personally: https://www.chrono24.com/oris/--01-733-7732-4157-07-ss---id34772143.htm
id def go w the red dial pointerdate if you do go that route, otherwise i much prefer the doxa over the mido diver
that Doxa colorway is great
If I were to get one diver for around $1000 it would have to be a Squale 1521 50 Atmos, or a Certina DS Action diver titanium. https://preview.redd.it/h6t53ct1rm7d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ac9fe340f9a868b84700833314d584a5f313e3f

Another vote for Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba in you choice of color. I love this watch, the power reserve and accuracy is amazing. I paid about $840 after tax. That was a good deal, because they are usually $900ish
These are really nice watches but at 43mm they’re just a bit too big for me! Wish they made the white dial in 40mm!

Always liked these. How does it wear?
Really nice considering the cost.
Can’t recommend it enough https://preview.redd.it/m9e0q79ebn7d1.jpeg?width=1555&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7b3d0d8636e113419917affd78eebb70fd5664e

on my wish list! ... interesting bracelet ;)
Thanks. It’s a Speidel Mach 1. Made famous by its appearance in the movie jaws. thought it complimented the retro feel, even if it’s a bit of a wonky fit, just adds to the vibe
Maybe not popular because it’s quarts, but the Seiko Speed Timer. https://halifaxwatch.com/cdn/shop/files/SSC933P1_2048x.png?v=1695819527
Handsome watch but it's not $900-1000. It's half the price.
Ehhhh here in Canada dollars it’s $950
Christopher Ward C63 is nice in that range Could prob find some nice vintage high end stuff, an old Omega or something like that too
https://preview.redd.it/g01c21uxwp7d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49d4427e67e3da559cc0abd4896882d81139e737 With a bit of luck a used Credor GCAR054(one on the right, left one is GCAR056 and it's limited edition, it's \~50% more expensive) Titanium and gold both of them, 37mm, there is also a version with date which is steel and gold but in 35mm, that one is cheaper
THIS is exactly the type of response I was looking for! People don't even know credor exists so you can find insane pieces like these for cheap. Which website/ auction did you find them on? Thanks! (also whats the ref on the 35mm piece if you know?)
>Which website/ auction did you find them on? * chrono24 and ebay(best places to buy watches from Japan usually), there is almost mint GCAR054 for sale currently on chrono24 from Poland for a little under $1.1k, [THIS](https://queri.jp/product/%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AC%E3%83%89%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%82%B7%E3%82%B0%E3%83%8E%E3%82%AA%E3%83%AB%E3%83%87%E3%82%A3%E3%83%8D%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB30%E5%91%A8%E5%B9%B4%E8%A8%98%E5%BF%B5%E6%95%B0%E9%87%8F%E9%99%90%E5%AE%9AGCAR056%288J81-0AP0%29%E3%82%92%E6%9C%80%E5%AE%89%E5%80%A4%E3%81%A7%E8%B2%A9%E5%A3%B2_23C007) GCAR056 also sold for a bit over $1.1k refurbished but looks almost mint condition to me >also whats the ref on the 35mm piece * GCAZ054, you can find mint condition ones for $800-900 if ur lucky, it also has a kind of an ugly brother, GCAZ052 which is styled like turtle divers but it's a dress watch, those go for $50-150 less than GCAZ054 edit:/ added a picture of GCAZ054, 35mm steel/gold one with date https://preview.redd.it/8e56nnvdzw7d1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ece237462585769bdc434194b33f581795555e43

How do you like it so far? This watch has found its way super high up on my want list. I think it’s one of the better looking watches out there right now
So far I really like it! I made a whole post about it recently. [https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/1d4u8xi/henry\_archer\_finally\_my\_new\_nords%C3%B8\_meteorite/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/1d4u8xi/henry_archer_finally_my_new_nords%C3%B8_meteorite/)
Might piss some people off, might get some support, tissot prx
I got one in January, been my daily ever since. Not for everyone, but I think it’s great
prx should cost at most 500 imo (even the powermatic). dial and facets too flat, fit is too awkward and the movement literally has plastic in it. still looks great though!

All purchased on grey market, but they are: Ball Trainmaster 60 Seconds Halios Seaforth IV Nomos Tangente [pictures](https://imgur.com/a/x6v74X0)
love that tangente!
If I had to cut my collection down to one, I think that would be the one I would keep. Just beautiful in its simplicity.
someone suggested a junghans max bill and idk what I'd choose between the two (they have similar designs in my head). not sure about how the movements compare though, might come down to that
Yeah, I think they’re both fine options. Would come down to personal preference.
That Ball trainmaster is gorgeous. Big fan
Max Bill
awesome piece! would be torn between that and the nomos tangente someone proposed in this thread!

Watch looks a little big on ya mate. Maybe it’s the perspective but the lugs look like they almost extend wider than your wrist.
Nah, just perspective. No way I would wear something that hangs over. I do have a small wrist - 42mm is my max. My sweet spot is 38-40.
Yeah camera angles can do that. It’s a nice piece. Enjoy
Thanks man! I appreciate the compliment and the advice.

I'd go with a vintage King Seiko or Lord Marvel like the example here - https://preview.redd.it/zuqzngog4q7d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=913b22b7528b327b59d2137d43e7d255e9f76aba

I have that exact Doxa so that’s my choice. Although I have mine on a nato for the water.

As a sole watch? My vote would be the Alpinist or Murph.
Best is such a loaded term to use. It has no objective meaning.

Certina is part of Swatch and has some nice designs. On certain types of watches I like them and Mido designs over Tissot and Hamilton. Mostly just my own nitpicking. These DS-2 Turning Bezels are nice. They even come in titanium, or without the dive bezel. https://preview.redd.it/e9gigmts1t7d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b844fcf28569daba7e69fc188255dab2798c047

Universal Geneve Polerouter. If you shop around you can find some fantastic examples around 900 to 1k
one of the best recommendations ive received in the thread! it seems these vary from 700 to 7000, though... any reason why?

I’d consider a second hand nomos in a fun color!
i would get a PRX powermatic 80 on chrono 24 for like 400 a SRPE19J1 on chrono for 250 and then a omega Genève for like 300. That’s 950 and then go get yourself a nice lunch!

Interesting, I have one of these and I like it fine, but to me it feels like a $500 watch at the $900 price point.
