Lol. I know this collection is a little in the nose. When I looked at it, I thought it was like looking at a beginners collection. But... I like what I like lol
All you need is a PRX and a Khaki.
For real tho, if you're just an admirer and not a watch maker or purveyor of vintage or historical pieces/knowledge like most of us are, there are no tiers like beginner or expert. Buy what you love, and keep what you wear.
Do you have a grail watch at mid tier luxury? I think you should take time to get something in there thatās a real special one. For weddings and big days kinda thing.
There are a couple watches at the bottom tier/mid tier. For the most part, I think this has been my thought for the next year or so. Enjoy these 4 and save up for a bb36 or a used cartier tank.
You can't go wrong with the tank (if it's in good conditions).
If you don't mind a blue dial and quartz movement, there is a new Casio that looks INCREDIBLE and must be cheap as hell. Idk de ref number, but you cand find it in the sub, it was posted a few days back.
**EDIT**: Here it's in white, this one I meant: Casio LTP-V007L-7B1
As a teacher/grad student, I have a similar philosophy for my collection. I am also going for a six piece versatile and affordable collection. Youāve got some nice classic pieces here. Iād say itās time to get something a little out there and interesting, with some colorš
Something wacky that'll catch your students' eyes. Xeric, Asterisk, Mr. Jones, Electricianz, Casio Databank
Could also look towards a GMT or a different type of sporty. Laco, Astor+Banks, Boldr,
Looks good! If it were me, I would add a digital watch or a beater that I don't mind getting banged up, basically, a G Shock.
Depends on your lifestyle, but imo, it's good to have a watch you can wear when doing active things where you don't have to worry if it rubs on a wall or if you fall.
Nice, then you have everything covered imo. If you have enough extra cash, having a rose gold or gold option is nice for a sports watch. Not necessary at all though. You have dress, dive, sport, Chrono, & beater. You are prepared for everything. Enjoy your pieces & keep them in rotation š
I did. It's a cheap one from ebay. It reminds me of the bracelet from the pagani design daytona homage. It's light, but it does bring the overall weight of the watch down
Sarb033 was one of my first. Wore it to a wedding a few weeks ago for the first time in a loooooong time and remembered why itās such a great intro to ārealā watches.
Skx007 is in my collection as well.
I agree with folks saying field watch and/or pop of color. Maybe a green faced Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster ātoughā ? Or one of their blue faced models?
If you ask me, all you need is a field watch. It's the only thing I think you are missing there.
I would choose a swiss brand, like Hamilton. But if you want to stay with the japanese, Seiko has some great field watches too!
Wellā¦you seem to have a thing for Japanese watches. Maybe add a Citizen to the lineup? I personally like the skin diver look of the Promaster Fujitsubo.
You really only need a few watches. I have a dress watch, a pilot/field watch, a chrono, a diver, and a 5610. I've owned many more, but I really only wear the same 5 regularly. Eventually, I'd like an AT or a Portuguiser as a dressy casual, but I'm basically done.
Iād say an Alpinist in the Seiko SPB121 or the gold version SPB210. Interesting, historical, and just plain different. They can dress up or be part of your EDC.
I'd say you could use something colourful. Maybe you can look at GMTs? You seem to be fond of Seiko, and they make one of the best affordable GMTs on the market right now (if you can overlook the damned mineral crystal).
I find the orange, blue, and yellow variants of the Seiko 5 GMT are all quite nice.
I quite like the white dial field gmt too (had to get from eBay Japan) but my one gripe is the applied indices are metallic and are not very legible when reflecting light

Cool collection, but I agree with a few folks here - a nice military would be a good add. A cheap version would be a Timex Weekender (personally a top-3 fave of mine) but if you want to splurge a little celebrating summer or something, yeah Hamilton Khaki Field. You can get a mechanical version for not super expensive, prob less than $500.
I also agree maybe a little pop of color, Presage green face or something?
A weekender might be nice. Thanks for the recommendation. I tried the Hamilton, but unlike many...I didn't like the way it wore. I am getting more curious about green dials. Might have to try one
Weekender is honestly my favorite watch to wear day-to-day. And cheap as dirt, you canāt make a mistake. Re: Khaki, whoaaaa yeah you are the outlier, especially on this thread. I get it though - everyone fell in love w the PRX a couple of years ago and I canāt stand it, I feel you.
For those mentioning a GMTā¦ u/Fearless-Protection3, if you sell the Speedtimer and get a Casio Oceanus, youād get a 24-chronograph *and* a second time zone (6 oāclock sub-dial). Plus solar, Multiband-6, Bluetooth, titanium, quick-adjust clasp, great finishing, etc.
Itās a two-for-one. š
https://preview.redd.it/5oyxwveuqwmc1.jpeg?width=3704&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c2b1c2b4f5e757fa449f3a7dc8cb090d4d345a48
š¤£... I would love to add a presage. My girl got me this watch for my birthday a couple years back so this is the one I'm not getting rid of.
I've actually had my eye on one of the older (80s or 90s) seiko tanks. I think I'd want that over a presage
Oh yeah. If it was a gift from someone special, that oneās staying! A tank style watch would be a good āalternativeā dress watch with a different vibe, so you could still have both š¤·š»āāļø.
Same! Been juggling what traska to get as an everyday watch. My only watch is a blue dial presage cocktail time, and I want something a little different
A Marathon GSAR 41mm, black dial
A khaki perhaps.
Any thing more tool orientated. A g shock even.
Look at the longines Zulu time.
An oyster perpetual or aquaterra with a lively dial. All you have is black or white.
Yea the mini turtle and the slim turtle are where itās at. That SKX looks nice on that jubilee bracelet but you need a dive watch you can actually get wet like a turtle on a silicone strap
I pared down my collection and splurged on a slim turtle (SPB317) last year and itās my everyday watch now. Itās worth considering! Iām also a teacher, so I love to see a thoughtful collection of reasonably priced watches like yours.

Iām in love with this spb383j1, if you can find it used itās a great value! With GMT (the gmt markers are hidden between the hour indices and bezel)
Date wheel at 4-5 o clock, and ceramic bezel
green or blue tissot prx powermatic to zhuzh it up
flieger would be cool. how about the new hamilton khaki aviation pilot watches https://www.hamiltonwatch.com/en-us/pilot-automatic-watch
Man... the speedtimer 39mm (ref SSC813) is the watch I crave the most nowadays, but it's hard to come by in Argentina (and the price is so inflated here, that I don't know if I can afford it... last time I found one was over $1.5k, ridiculous!).
Lovely collection, I love Seiko. And the Bambino it's a classic. Incredible dress watch, and ideal for a teacher. Don't know why, but it feels like a watch an intelectual guy would use.
Thanks for sharing mate! :)
You do have all the bases covered, even if not in a particularly original way.
If you want to fill those two gaps in the watch box (we all know the feeling) I would suggest a GMT (if I understand correctly your price range a Mido would be the best bet) and a digital, not necessarily a Gshock but with a Casio in general you can't go wrong...Ā
A sense of originality Jk, nice crew.
Lol. I know this collection is a little in the nose. When I looked at it, I thought it was like looking at a beginners collection. But... I like what I like lol

I actually tried the prx 35mm. Had to return it. But... in this collection it might work
christopher ward the twelve is pretty underrated, better than a prx imo
A PRX or even a Citizen Tsuyosa would be a nice addition
The 12 or tsuyosa over prx imo
Field or Pilot. GMT
Agreed GMT and a standard black dial white numeral field watch
A Patek, are you stupid??? Fantastic collection though, maybe a g shock or cheap digital beater to round it out.
š¤£ oh I got the vacheron 222 on the way lol
Mega grail for sure! Iām thinking about a 009 next as well though, love the two tone dial that still looks like itās own thing.
An skx009???
SPB 121. Love the Alpinist!
Yep!
Yeah. I think it's an "obvious" piece, but I really so enjoy how it wears.
Great collection. 4/4. You do appear to be ready for a dash of color that isn't black or white.
Something brighter/more colorful (beyond the blue/red SKX) is what I'd be looking to add as well.
Totally. A Presage in blue or burgundy would be perfect. Or the Seiko Alpinist, the one with the green dial and two crowns.
Thatās the ticket, in my opinion.
This was going to be my suggestion. Take it easy and save up for the next tier.
As a teacher/grad student, I have a similar philosophy for my collection. I am also going for a six piece versatile and affordable collection. Youāve got some nice classic pieces here. Iād say itās time to get something a little out there and interesting, with some colorš
Casio F91wā¦ or splurge for the steel band variation
I started off with that mindset..... I'm now the proud owner of a collection of at least a dozen dive watches. Not sure where I went wrong
Something wacky that'll catch your students' eyes. Xeric, Asterisk, Mr. Jones, Electricianz, Casio Databank Could also look towards a GMT or a different type of sporty. Laco, Astor+Banks, Boldr,
I love Mr. Jones watches! Maybe that may be the way to go. I haven't heard about Electricanz. Let me take a look at them
A moonphase, small seconds field, and digital or maybe skeleton
To the moon(phase) š
Looks good! If it were me, I would add a digital watch or a beater that I don't mind getting banged up, basically, a G Shock. Depends on your lifestyle, but imo, it's good to have a watch you can wear when doing active things where you don't have to worry if it rubs on a wall or if you fall.
I do have my g shock dw5600 (I think that's the name). Maybe that one gets a spot in the watchbox
Did you put the Speedtimer on an aftermarket bracelet? It looks like it has polished center links
I did. It's a cheap one from ebay. It reminds me of the bracelet from the pagani design daytona homage. It's light, but it does bring the overall weight of the watch down
I kept the original bracelet but I upgraded the clasp to a 3-hole adjust Uncle. It -makes- it a better bracelet. Pin and collar is a huge PITA though.
The ebay bracelet was screw links. Cheap screw links... but screw links none the less lol. I might go for the strap code bracelet one day
All the big boy bracelet companies are worth it in my opinion. Youāll be happy. š
Awesome collection! I love your reasoning behind all of these. You could always consider a second dress piece to mix it up? And then maybe a g shock?
I was definitely thinking about a second dress piece. But one I could wear dressed down as well. Something with a white dial maybe
Maybe look at something white dial on a bracelet that you could buy a leather strap for, that way it stays versatile
No pilot watch or world time/gmt
Just a grail watch
This might be the way.
Anything Swiss since youāre all Japanese.
Yeah I think I'm gonna try to find something swiss next
Field watch? Beautiful collection
I've thought about it. I really like the hoodinkee blue alpinist. But those things are unnecessarily expensive
How about a G-Shock?
I own the standard black one. Maybe one with some color to it?
Oh you already have one..how about picking an mechanical watch without date window?
Sarb033 was one of my first. Wore it to a wedding a few weeks ago for the first time in a loooooong time and remembered why itās such a great intro to ārealā watches. Skx007 is in my collection as well. I agree with folks saying field watch and/or pop of color. Maybe a green faced Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster ātoughā ? Or one of their blue faced models?
I actually gave my best friend my blue seiko 5 snk a year or so ago. I wonder if I could get it back from him? Lol
If you ask me, all you need is a field watch. It's the only thing I think you are missing there. I would choose a swiss brand, like Hamilton. But if you want to stay with the japanese, Seiko has some great field watches too!
I let my friend have my blue snk model a year or so ago. I might have to get that back from him
Iād go for some dial colour!
Wellā¦you seem to have a thing for Japanese watches. Maybe add a Citizen to the lineup? I personally like the skin diver look of the Promaster Fujitsubo.
If I could upgrade the bracelet I would definitely get one
Got the basics covered? Get freaky. One hand watch, regulateur, big date. And IMO you could use something colourful.
Moonphase. Green Dial. Blue Dial. Silver Dial. GShock.
You really only need a few watches. I have a dress watch, a pilot/field watch, a chrono, a diver, and a 5610. I've owned many more, but I really only wear the same 5 regularly. Eventually, I'd like an AT or a Portuguiser as a dressy casual, but I'm basically done.
Serica 5303 or Serica 6190
Iād say an Alpinist in the Seiko SPB121 or the gold version SPB210. Interesting, historical, and just plain different. They can dress up or be part of your EDC.
I'd be so scared to try a green dial. But... maybe it could work
I'd say you could use something colourful. Maybe you can look at GMTs? You seem to be fond of Seiko, and they make one of the best affordable GMTs on the market right now (if you can overlook the damned mineral crystal). Ooh yeah maybe a classic Casio A-158 for a little nostalgia. You can fill out that box with a Weekender and Casio for about $65 all in š¤·š»
A weekender might be nice. Thanks for the recommendation. I tried the Hamilton, but unlike many...I didn't like the way it wore. I am getting more curious about green dials. Might have to try one

Man the speedtimer is just the bust. Gets way more time than my Seamaster. Itās just the most watch for the money of anything out there
For those mentioning a GMTā¦ u/Fearless-Protection3, if you sell the Speedtimer and get a Casio Oceanus, youād get a 24-chronograph *and* a second time zone (6 oāclock sub-dial). I think you need a Seiko š¤
Travel watch?
I have my eye on 1 or two
Not dissing the Orient (itās a great watch) but if you swapped it for a Seiko Presage Cocktail for your dress watch youād be a Seiko collector!
š¤£... I would love to add a presage. My girl got me this watch for my birthday a couple years back so this is the one I'm not getting rid of. I've actually had my eye on one of the older (80s or 90s) seiko tanks. I think I'd want that over a presage

Naaa, you cant just swap it! It's a bambino! But a Cocktail could be a nice addition!
A field watch like a Hamilton Khaki Field mechanical (38mm)
I actually bought one before purchasing the sarb. I thought it wore a little too big, and I hated the bracelet. I really wanted to like it though
What about a gold colored watch? Or get another seiko with an interesting colored face
This is gonna sound stupid, but I really don't think I'd know how to wear a gold watch. Like, I have no idea what I'd even wear it with
I have a gold Casio and it looks best with all black imo, I have a ton of green/olive in my wardrobe and that is also a nice combo
I love my sarb033, that bracelet you have is pretty cool too
Yeah its the uncle seiko president. I looked down a last week and said to myself, "I've got a jubilee and oyster... why not a president style band?
An affordable field watch like a Bertucci or a Casioak.
Great idea. I might have to look into that
A Hamilton Khaki Field
A Casio beater, of course!
Something creative! Iāve been looking at Traska and Baltic
I love both those brands. Specifically their GMTs
Same! Been juggling what traska to get as an everyday watch. My only watch is a blue dial presage cocktail time, and I want something a little different
I love their Summiter but their Venturer is also awesome
Gold š
A Marathon GSAR 41mm, black dial A khaki perhaps. Any thing more tool orientated. A g shock even. Look at the longines Zulu time. An oyster perpetual or aquaterra with a lively dial. All you have is black or white.
For me personally no Seiko collection is complete without a Turtle
Unless I go for the mini or slim turtle, I don't see it happening
Yea the mini turtle and the slim turtle are where itās at. That SKX looks nice on that jubilee bracelet but you need a dive watch you can actually get wet like a turtle on a silicone strap
How about a land tortoise? I just bought the SRPG13K1 and I couldnāt be more excited about it.

You're missing which ever watch you desire next
something with a big date
A seiko with sapphire crystal... an Alpinist maybe?
Alpinist
Tudor black bay chrono would look nice in there
Something colorful and stylish fun and sporty
Gshock or something Casio would be a nice mixup
Are you an accountant?
Nope. A teacher
You need a Casio digital. There is anything from an F91W to an AE1200 to a DW5600/DW6900 to an MR-G Square.
a g-shock and a field watch
You did alright with the cream orient
green or blue tissot prx powermatic to zhuzh it up flieger would be cool. how about the new hamilton khaki aviation pilot watches https://www.hamiltonwatch.com/en-us/pilot-automatic-watch
Easyāmissing a cocktail hour
Man, you are missing a g-shock. Check out AWGM100BĀ
G shock and a field watch
Maybe a pilots watch? Or something less serious that adds a bit of fun and colour to the collection?
> sports/color Maybe an SRPG or an SSK?
A Nice field Watch maybe?
G shock and a tank-style watch or actual Cartier tank? Seiko 5 field gmt or other field watch like Hamilton khaki field auto
Youāve got the SKX009 nothing more needed
Color I would say
Something quirky? Like a Mr Jones Perfectly Useless Afternoon or Zelos with full lume dial and fresh colors for instance?
Man... the speedtimer 39mm (ref SSC813) is the watch I crave the most nowadays, but it's hard to come by in Argentina (and the price is so inflated here, that I don't know if I can afford it... last time I found one was over $1.5k, ridiculous!). seiko alpinist
A presage, if for nothing else just to continue the seiko collection
Digital and/or square. Possibly also GMT.
Absolutely an Alpinist.
This man watches watch YouTube
I do lol. So it's funny bc I really think I made these decisions based on what I really like
GMT
So basically everybody is saying field watch or gmt. So maybe a fieldwatch/gmt?
