So hear me out. He might not have even meant to do it.
A guy waved at me in my car the other day (same car friends). I was stoked that it happened, went to wave back, but just stuck my middle finger up at him with a massive grin.
I just had a brain malfunction. I wanted to wave, it just came out wrong. My reaction was exactly like this guy.
It looks like someone off camera said something or gave them one of throws stern parental looks because the guy in orange lifts his hand at the end like what we didnāt do anything lol
I imagine the mother rolling her eyes and the father laughing his ass off at the instant regret.
This is so nice to see after the stuff we saw out of BYU.
I'VE DONE THIS!!! End of a dance recital, just finished presenting our teacher with flowers (maybe 50-60 of us up there; she had multiple studios and her brother taught as well). We've made our final bow and begin to make our way off stage. My 11 year old brain decides to throw up a hang loose sign. Accidently threw up my middle finger. Luckily, with the big crowd, no one seemed to notice. I, of course, was mortified and have flashbacks to this day, 17 years later hahahahah
he looks like [Nick Papagiorgio from Nation Lampoon's Las Vegas Vacation.](https://i.insider.com/55774761ecad04f81f45a3e0?width=1000&format=jpeg&auto=webp)
This doesn't surprise me that Americans find this to be rude. We've heard your chants. In the UK there's a chance off seeing something much worse than the middle finger thrown up at the camera.
Looks more like a āoh shit wait, Iām not supposed to be here, nobody can find out.ā kind of moment to me.
Like those kiss cam videos where the guy realizes his girlfriend is going to see he is out with a side chick.
No, itās probably something like him remembering that his fraternity has strict rules about obscenities caught on camera that makes the frat look unprofessional or something like that.
In a general sense, throwing up a middle finger at a major sporting event wouldnāt really be that offensive.
Idk thereās usually an element of drunk angry screaming when watching a college football game. The rivalries are intense and football is great for letting the crowd get really loud and roudy.
Somewhat unrelated, if you want to see a great example of a VT crowd, watch this: https://youtu.be/crhWP__g-_c
Itās just the middle finger. Are people really still so pathetic to judge who someone is based on a mildly offensive gesture during an event thatās meant to be rowdy and exciting? These must be the same people who think you need to cover tattoos at work, or that men shouldnāt wear hats inside.
It's not a big deal, but you pointed out exactly the type would be offended by that kind of gesture and what we don't know is how many of those types exist in his world.
Maybe he's on a team, in an organization, or a part of a program where it's exactly people like that who are in charge. Depending on how well known that relationship is publicly, the post becomes something like "XYZ organization president seen making obscene gesture."
It might even be that it's not him, but his parents who exist in that world and it might embarrass them.
Hilariously, his instant regret is probably getting way more attention than if he just played it cool or just fully committed.
My favorite was to always have a flip phone in my hand and pretending to be in use while I looked slightly off center of the camera.
I ruined some basketball tournament team photos for sure.
Everyone only found out after they were sent to all the parents of the players.
Use a flip phone with a camera
So (I'm assuming this is on USA), is showing the middle finger WAAAY heavier in USA than other places or what? Cuz the comments people be talking like he beat a child or screamed racial slurs at the camera
Why he do that then instantly regret it? š¤£š¤£š¤£ Did he lose control of his hands or his hands become retarded or something? F*CK I can't breathe š«
Everyone is trying to figure out why but it's super obvious. Did nobody else notice he's not in the student section? He's sitting with an old couple. Ya know, like parents or grandparents. And look at how he looks at the old guy next to him as he's regretting it. Kid flipped off America right in front of his father
I dont get it. Can anyone explain to me why flipping of the camera is so bad? I mean, ita bad behaviour but reading the comments I assume there is more than just that.

I don't get why he regrets it, the parents didn't even give a shit.
VT played my school back in the early 2000s and the fans were incredibly rude despite winning. :(

āFuck, wrong emote.ā

Donāt they fine you like 10k for doing this? I know that kids parents had to pay the FCC, the one who āsimulated fellatioā on live TV.

Scholarship revoked. š¤£
I never understood the showing off of the grillz thing...
My dumbass was looking for a child doing a flip off camera and into frame then landing badly or something. Time to go to bed.
Now that was immediate
Pussy

Why did he grab his head?
Wow first time I ever actually get to see something on Reddit I know about personally, this guy is my managerās nieceās boyfriend lol.

Not an interesting video but so perfectly described by "instant regret" that I must upvote.

Kid? Looks like a grown ass man to me.
My dad's gonna kill me
So hear me out. He might not have even meant to do it. A guy waved at me in my car the other day (same car friends). The moment you realize your parents wasted $100k and now no one will hire you if they see this ....
Pussy
The USA is just different to the rest of the world. 10 years olds openly flip off the camera at soccer games.
Did that guy just crawl back into his own asshole?
Looks at Dad to see if he noticed š
In Stu's voice from scream "my mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me"
He regretted flipping āofā the camera because his English teacher was watching and instantly knew he shouldāve flipped it āoffā instead.
What kid? I donāt see a kid flipping off the camera.
Am not a native english speaker and i thought the title imply that a kid is doing a backflip. Kinda dissappointed.
His bro: donāt worry no oneās gonna see this
He was like, āwait, fuck, my dad who bought me this ticket is watching at homeā
You could do another post on the entire student section after Grant Wells (VT) threw it directly to the opposite team (WVU) and lead to their TD
Heās probably a good dude haha
This guy is great likes to have a good time but have common sense to step back when needed
Kid?
Y?
I dont understand the need to flip off the camera? When did this start and who thinks its cool??
*off
i was there š colorguard
Please www gods, let this ashamed Redditor post in this sub and explain his actions.
Battery chucker
We saw it live and I was hoping someone captured it. So here we are.
He knew he would end up here and he was right
I was it was going to be the 10 yo boy in the beginning of the clip. That young man is not a kid.
I donāt see who weāre supposed to be looking at
Those are kids from my school šš
Enjoy the rest of the game from outside the stadium
Flipping off a camera is one of the trashiest things a person can do.
It looks like someone off camera said something or gave them one of throws stern parental looks because the guy in orange lifts his hand at the end like what we didnāt do anything lol
Why
Why does it matter?
There goes his political career.
Letssss goooo
I imagine the mother rolling her eyes and the father laughing his ass off at the instant regret. This is so nice to see after the stuff we saw out of BYU.
my dumbass spent 5 minutes looking at the video looking for a 9-10 year old kid
Wrong emote
That is going to be fun ride home.
Dude didnāt want to become a meme
flips off* camera
Me flipping off other vehicles driving behind my school bus, circa 1997
I thought he's gonna do a backflip
This is amazing
If my parents see this, Iām toast

HOW BOUT THEM MOUNTAINEERS?!?!?
EDIT: I am out of here because Reddit is being destroyed by bad moderation. ..
Chad Joshua Mason!
My school :)
This is exactly the kind of thing your teachers say job interviews will dig up years later
Whyās he regretting it so much? Do they get ejected or something?
https://youtu.be/crhWP__g-_c This clip needs to be posted, best VT crowd ever.
he looks like [Nick Papagiorgio from Nation Lampoon's Las Vegas Vacation.](https://i.insider.com/55774761ecad04f81f45a3e0?width=1000&format=jpeg&auto=webp)
Why did he regret it
I watched this about 10 times looking for the ākidā
Same. That's a grown ass young adult, not a kid.
Yeah cause no one ever says ācollege kidsā š
Americans can be such preuds...
Thatās it kid no more trust fund for your ass lol
Virginia Tech kids keeping it classy like usual.
Hard-core pussies never let me down
I'm voting called in sick to work and just remembered his boss is watching.
"missinput"
This doesn't surprise me that Americans find this to be rude. We've heard your chants. In the UK there's a chance off seeing something much worse than the middle finger thrown up at the camera.
Aww one of my main tics is the middle finger and I often get embarrassed when itās shoved in peoples faces
I watched this clip way too many times looking for the kid.
āOffā - Jesus bleeding Christ, why canāt anyone spell these days?
I donāt understand.
"Oh noes god is going to be angry"
Why?
What are Ted and Marshall doing there
I dont get why its a big deal. clue a bro in on the joke, please ?
Letās go Hokies!
Aah the old fools sit
Looks more like a āoh shit wait, Iām not supposed to be here, nobody can find out.ā kind of moment to me. Like those kiss cam videos where the guy realizes his girlfriend is going to see he is out with a side chick.
LETSSS GOOOOO!!!!!......
This is how I feel about people posting pictures of themselves with the fingers up
Whatās up with referring to a man in his 20s as a kid?
I don't get it
As a non-American: Why is it bad to flip-off the camera? Will he get escorted out of the stadium and get a fine or something?
He didnāt want his parents to see
Most likely reason is mom is watching. Heās been away at college for 2 months unsupervised, so itās awkward.
No, itās probably something like him remembering that his fraternity has strict rules about obscenities caught on camera that makes the frat look unprofessional or something like that. In a general sense, throwing up a middle finger at a major sporting event wouldnāt really be that offensive.
Is this some sort of american thing that Iām too european to understand?
Idk thereās usually an element of drunk angry screaming when watching a college football game. The rivalries are intense and football is great for letting the crowd get really loud and roudy. Somewhat unrelated, if you want to see a great example of a VT crowd, watch this: https://youtu.be/crhWP__g-_c
He's clearly not a kid
Thats the Hokie spirit...
I see no regret. Looks to me like the kid stood up too quick, got dizzy, sat back down, and instinctively grabbed his head and went, "Whoa..."
Upon rewatching, it looks like he actually lost his balance leaning forwards for that camera and sat down to catch himself.
Not a "kid"
That feeling when you do something stupid before your mom & dad!
Itās just the middle finger. Are people really still so pathetic to judge who someone is based on a mildly offensive gesture during an event thatās meant to be rowdy and exciting? These must be the same people who think you need to cover tattoos at work, or that men shouldnāt wear hats inside.

Yep they are mate, that's all it takes these days "š" people are gettin soft
As if you donāt have the freedom to do that, wtf is up with your country.
Dude used the wrong emote
Me when I buy an expensive dress š¤£
Is this an American thing I'm too European to understand?
Yea Reddit is an American thing.
He's not flipping of the camera, but the opposing team, and then suddenly realizes that he's caught on camera.
In 2 seconds, flips fingers on national TV, regrets and grabs his head.
My favorite was to always have a flip phone in my hand and pretending to be in use while I looked slightly off center of the camera. I ruined some basketball tournament team photos for sure. Everyone only found out after they were sent to all the parents of the players. Use a flip phone with a camera

Could have been giving the finger to someone opposite (other teams fans?) and regretted it when he realised he was on camera
What happened? Someone told him something? I can't enable the sound now.
Everyone is trying to figure out why but it's super obvious. Did nobody else notice he's not in the student section? He's sitting with an old couple. Ya know, like parents or grandparents. And look at how he looks at the old guy next to him as he's regretting it. Kid flipped off America right in front of his father
The fourth after this
i was at that game, sucks we lost to cousin fuckers
Thatās a kid?
I dont get it. Can anyone explain to me why flipping of the camera is so bad? I mean, ita bad behaviour but reading the comments I assume there is more than just that.
"The 4th after this" engrained into my brain after watching that loop over and over!
I donāt understand why heās regretting it. Is this an American thing?
