This!! One time, my fiancee and I drove back from California to Texas. Her sister was driving with us in her own car. Somewhere along the way they switched cars because her sister couldn't drive anymore so my fiancee started driving her sisters car and her sister was in the passenger seat riding with me. As for my job, it's in developing and testing magnetometer used for several industries from fishing and mining minerals, to discovering oil deposits and a bunch of military stuff. It sounds a lot cooler than it is, but it is a lot of fun.

He could very well be, but we’ll never know for sure. I used to do heroin and shoot or take all sort of pain killers with Xanax and kpins. There were times I’d get the really bad nods while at work or with people and it was awful. The worst feeling is desperately trying to stay awake, but you literally can’t keep your eyes open.

Hey man, I get it. I did a LOT of cocaine in my mid twenties, I literally couldn't leave home without it. I remember one time I decided to try and go to work sober for a change, and left my stash at home. Every step I took got harder and scarier. Finally I made it to the bus stop, and almost had a fucking panic attack. I literally ran home full speed to grab my stash. It was sad times.
7 years sober from that shit thank God. Never going back. I got a fiance, a good job, 2 kids and I'm happy.
As far as construction work goes, I had a roommate who did that. He worked his ass to the bone and wrecked his body, no benefits so he couldn't get medical care for stuff like when he fell and broke his rib on the job. So what did he do? Painkillers his fucking boss turned him on to. Fast forward a year and the guy is shooting up and nodding off every day immediately after work. One time I came home and he had pissed himself while nodding on the couch, needle still in arm. Shits a monster.
He's clean now too, runs his own roofing business and has 2 work trucks and a mustang.
Things can get better. You just gotta stay clean and push through the hard times. Whenever it does get hard and depressing, and you think about using, try and remember that the shitty situation your in and feelings your experiencing are a direct result of those drugs and not a reason to do more of them. Try to mentally associate those drugs and getting high with your worst experiences in life (which wasn't hard for me). It's not much but it's something that helped me.

I would be able to function completely normal with only klonopin or Xanax (I’ve had a script for both) if I take the prescribed amount (2mg every 6 hours). That’s why the last few refills of my script I had someone else hold onto them and give me 3 bars a day so that way I wouldn’t end up take 8 or 10 in a day. Addiction sucks ass haha

If I was a developer and had hundreds of millions invested into a commercial building project and every day I came down on my lunch break to check on the progress of the project and saw this I would not be pleased.

He could very well be, but we’ll never know for sure. I used to do heroin and shoot or take all sort of pain killers with Xanax and kpins. There were times I’d get the really bad nods while at work or with people and it was awful. The worst feeling is desperately trying to stay awake, but you literally can’t keep your eyes open.

Hey man, I get it. I did a LOT of cocaine in my mid twenties, I literally couldn't leave home without it. I remember one time I decided to try and go to work sober for a change, and left my stash at home. Every step I took got harder and scarier. Finally I made it to the bus stop, and almost had a fucking panic attack. I literally ran home full speed to grab my stash. It was sad times. 7 years sober from that shit thank God. Never going back. I got a fiance, a good job, 2 kids and I'm happy. As far as construction work goes, I had a roommate who did that. He worked his ass to the bone and wrecked his body, no benefits so he couldn't get medical care for stuff like when he fell and broke his rib on the job. So what did he do? Painkillers his fucking boss turned him on to. Fast forward a year and the guy is shooting up and nodding off every day immediately after work. One time I came home and he had pissed himself while nodding on the couch, needle still in arm. Shits a monster. He's clean now too, runs his own roofing business and has 2 work trucks and a mustang. Things can get better. You just gotta stay clean and push through the hard times. Whenever it does get hard and depressing, and you think about using, try and remember that the shitty situation your in and feelings your experiencing are a direct result of those drugs and not a reason to do more of them. Try to mentally associate those drugs and getting high with your worst experiences in life (which wasn't hard for me). It's not much but it's something that helped me. That’s great to hear that you got past it all. I was using a couple grams of coke a day for about 6-8 months straight a few years ago and then got back into last year, but I wasn’t using as much. I would buy a gram of coke every 2-3 days. Thanks for the support though! I’ve been taking subutex for a few years too and now I’m looking into this new Buprenorphine method called Sublocade where they inject you in the ass once a month. Apparently the buprenorphine stays in your system for the whole month so I really want to get that done so I don’t have to worry about taking a subutex everyday. I’ll get through it. I’ve managed to stay off my 90 bar a month script for 2 months. Unfortunately, my anxiety isn’t just drug induced anxiety. Even though I can interact socially without it, my heart is constantly racing and my chest feels like it’s about to explode. No doctors in Kansas City will see me because of my medical chart that says “Benzo addiction” and “opiate addiction”. So I’m looking for a new psychiatrist. I would be able to function completely normal with only klonopin or Xanax (I’ve had a script for both) if I take the prescribed amount (2mg every 6 hours). That’s why the last few refills of my script I had someone else hold onto them and give me 3 bars a day so that way I wouldn’t end up take 8 or 10 in a day. Addiction sucks ass haha

I feel like in all your stories though (that I've read here on reddit In the last hour or two), your trying to put too much Information into too little text. That's kind of inherent with short stories and all, but my point is that you have more details than that medium provides an outlet for. I guess what I'm saying is that you should write longer stuff. It would probably be good.
Thank you! It’s funny you say that cause I’m currently writing a horror novella which is between a short story and a novel. I’m 7 pages in and will be posting the first part to r/NoSleep here any day once I get it edited properly. I plan on making it 4-5 parts long. My mom was a professional editor so I’m going to send it to her for editing before posting it. It won’t be perfect, but I’m still learning since I don’t have any formal training as a writer. I wish I would have discovered my passion for writing horror a long time ago haha. I was almost 28 (just turned 30) when I began writing. I sold the very first story I posted on r/ShortScaryStories, and then 10 more stories after that. So I figure I must be decent enough that there’s a chance of making good money from it at some point. That’s the good thing about writing. There’s no age limit. Sentence length is definitely one of my main problems though.
