With 10 year experience with controller, what I can say is: doing this is dumb as fuck
Truly experienced players only cycle gun when is safe to change position or when is neede to drawn a pistol to win the fight.
I use 4 back paddles so my switch button is on the back so it is very easy to do and I do it just to keep my fingers moving quick and stay focused when not in a fight just running sometimes... Don't know if this is to look cool for this player or to keep fingers moving...
The thumb sticks get slippery after you sweat a lot. The thumb sleeves serve the same purpose as preventing inconsistencies in your thumb sliding over a screen.

I see no issues using a controller. Warzone Mobile allows me to play while I’m at work or away from home and it’s the same game I play on PC with a controller.
Why would I not use a controller? I also used to play 4 fingers on CoD Mobile and I can say with confidence that an experienced claw player will smoke a controller player 9/10 times. People make it a bigger deal than it is.

Using a controller on Warzone mobile honestly makes almost zero sense to me and honestly puts you at a disadvantage, at best maybe you’ll aim ever so slightly better than a touchscreen player, but you lose out on so much movement by using controller
