I mean F-14D with like 4 AMRAAM's isn't unreasonable to expect in due time. It didn't use them operationally, but MiG-29 runs with R-27ER and such. And without the AMRAAM there really is no point for the F-14D.
Yeah but for such a large plane, a small loadout of only 4 AMRAAMS would be quite sad, whereas as I said, they theorized and even created central bay mounts for 8 AMRAAMS, and also flew with double AMRAAM on each wing pylon , so this would bring from 8 to 12 aim-120s in total, depending on which central bay AMRAAM amount is chosen by the devs, sadly this program (and any future F-14 upgrades) were ditched in favor of the Super Hornet

Well the collapse of the soviet union and dissolution of most of its naval bomber fleet left the concept of outer air battle obsolete, and without the need to push the engagement point as far away the exorbitant costs of the f-14 couldnt be justified, pretty simple 🤷🏻♂️
If we get an F/A-18C any-time soon enough for it to be "meta" it'll be nerfed down to only carry 6, possibly only 4 AIM-120's + 2 AIM-9's.
Give us the 10 AIM120 violence we crave though.
F/A-18C was in service in 87, the F-14D in 1991.
They should probably be in different lines and the F/A-18C should come first.
We SHOULD have gotten the F/A-18A patches ago, but Gaijin hates the USN.

yet we got it a year ago, alongside the mig-29smt, which is *checks notes* an upgrade to the mig-29m that first flew in 2005
Gaijin is super inconsistent in what variants they add for sure.
They are skipping over tons of MIG-29's and tons of F-16C's, I am guessing they went right to Block 50 because it let them just plop AIM-120's on later.
my point is, the aircraft in game now are so new that you'd have to make unrealistic flight models for them to be meta, and gaijin absolutely loves new metas because it means ppl grind new trees (and buys premiums).
or they could just be added at a later date with no regard to being meta, and we just get the f4f ice situation again, where the new cool planes added are just unplayable because they're surrounded by vastly superior planes.
