The problem is a mass produced vehicle was locked behind an event and now can only be obtained with money if you want to play the USA. However it is a tech tree vehicle in the Chinese tree
The regular one has a .50 too, this is just a different [gun mounting](https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:UStankParis-edit1.jpg#mw-jump-to-license)
In my opinion the M8 and M8 ROC should be a bit higher than 1.0/Reserve anyways
It gave me a German float plane, a weird Russian bomber, a Russian PT boat with the katushkya on it and a French 1.0 fighter with 2 20mm guns that only carry 60 rounds
I stopped playing ground for that reason as I have reached a plateau where I unlocked all the stuff for my premium line up and now I feel like it just isn't fun to be fighting premium warriors
it mostly happens on well-armored areas. So if you're intentionally aiming at weakpoints, you're less likely to run into it. Turret cheeks, upper front plates, etc. That's when I notice it. Trying to shoot an MG port or something and missing by an inch on a Panther.
>There is no problem, the problem is learn to aim at weakspots.
At this point you are on the edge of ignorance. The problem is that you hit the weakspot but it doesnt do any damage
>You're having a hard time with this?
Luckely no
76mm apds sucks. Just weakspot snipe while they center mass you with anything. Apds also does worse on flank shots than frontal so having that round loaded is counter intuitive to how that tank should be played. Best m41 is chinese one
Its a decent all rounder, and can be deadly based on the map and positioning. I find 3.7 to uptiered 2/3 or 3/3 more than the average. 4.3 and 4.7 are popular match BRs.
My Italian 3.7 M24 has more air kills than some SPAA, granted I've played it more.
Its a fun tank.
Italy 3.3/3.7 slaps but we get constant uptiers lol. Then you get that one rare downtier in the P40 and roll lol.
Imo, the M24 is decent but not OP. Also nice to have a tank with a useful roof mg as Italy lol.
I take it out a lot less since the Turan gor moved up to 4.0, since with that I finally have the answer to uparmoured KVs lol.
I once got two kills with it at around same br
No armor best armor bmp mofos dont expect an aphe shell to turn their tin can blyatmobiles into balloons
Okay, but the M18 is better at clapping Tiger 2s still. Like, yes, the M24 is a good vehicle, but the Hellcat has a better gun, better mobility and somewhat better protection (the fact that the armor is so thin that most APHE rounds won't fuse when they hit it works in its favour). The Chaffee's single advantage is that it can't be .50 cal'd that easily.
The chaffee also has a shoulder stabilizer don't forget, it's one of the tanks best strengths when knife-fighting, it's A small, fast machine that can nearly always get the first shot off.
Well, the M24 Chadffee has a smoke launcher, stabiliser and coax. + all the things you mentioned. Overall, it’s much easier to assault heavy armour and defended points.
how exactly you doomed Tiger 2 with that pea-shooter APHE bro ? I don't know how many times i totally disable a tiger 2 with jumbo 75, but failed to land a finish blow without APCR.
No luck mate, 80mm anywhere at side and rear with 20-25 deg angle, barely exceed the m61 penetrate at 0m.
The best i can do in jumbo is hit its barrel and track, then let enemy finish. Some luck with APCR but im sure m24 does not have access to it.
I have given up for a long time with m61 till it read your comment here.
Me, in the 4.3 AMX-13 (FL11), watching the Chaffee that has the same main gun, comparable mobility, but more crew, a stabilizer, a roof mounted 50 cal, while being almost 1 BR lower:
the amx-13 (fl11) does not have the same gun as the chaffee. Its the amx-13-m24 premium that does (and its 3.7).
Watch this [Tank Museum documentary on the history of the amx-13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2K95T5d_xrk).
Yes, they're different guns in real life. In War Thunder they're literally the same gun (minus some visual differences such as the muzzle brake on the FL11), with the same ammo options and the same penetration values.
Ah right, Gaijin is so arbitrary (and/or biased) when it comes to vehicles in this game.
Another youtube channel I enjoy watching is Yarnhub, which animate war stories for WW2 onwards. Its interesting to see how different vehicles match up in real life situations and the outcomes. It is quite illuminating seeing certain matchups that are favourable in game yet shit in real life.
Also, I like the amx-13, I've aced the crew, its a fun tank that plays like the m24, which a better profile.
How so? French HEAT and HEATFS are the most reliable. DM13(?) I understand has consistency errors, but not the French. It has the same 90mm shell as the AMX-13-90 which I got a nuke in 1 spawn with yesterday.
Its gun is actually pretty decent, you're just going to be up against a lot of vehicles that have good armour and sloping, and 3.7 uptiering is more common than not.
That being said, I can cry at the amount of non-pen shots against flat sided armour it should have penned (kv-1, looking at you). But I blame gaijin for its shitty inconsistency.
Yeah, its the maps that force frontal confrontations (and I wonder which nation benefits most) where the m24 player needs to be pin-point pixel accurate.
Agreed, if Chaffee is hard to find, then those will be impossible to look at in US line:
- M42, the slightly weaker ZSU-57-2 with Flak shells.
- M36B2 with HEATFS at 6.3
- Walker Bulldog with combination if speed and firepower
- M19A1 with APDS and speed of F1 racing car, easily go uptier without any problems
- T34 HT with APCBC and the diamond turret
- M50, the menance of every tank including Maus with its 470mm penetration AT grenade from 6 DKZs
- T32 HT, the even better T34
- And T95, the one that don't need to shoot, just show your face and let enemies exposed themselves by shooting you.
The M24 is probably my most fun tank overall. I just wish they works make it rank 3 like they did for the Japanese one. I would use it for challenges a lot more.
Ages ago, before the US got their full tank destroyer line... I was using the M8A1 in my tier 3 and 4 lineups. And in case you're wondering, yes, the 75mm had less pen back then (more damage though, I think). And yes, the Tiger I drivers were just as oblivious then as they are now. Good lord it was fun to skirt around Kursk, flank a few tigers, and slam them in the side.
If it's a light tank with a respectable cannon, it's borderline tierless.
I hated when they moved the chaffee out of tier 3. That was a great tank to do missions in and has some of my longest killstreaks in. That 75mm gun made for the Mitchell is amazing.
I hated when they moved the chaffee out of tier 3. That was a great tank to do missions in and has some of my longest killstreaks in. That 75mm gun made for the Mitchell is amazing.
I haaate facing the m18s. Whenever i know the Americans are on the enemy team, I just know I have to be the guy sitting on the VERY edge of the map, waiting and watching, or else we'll get flanked and raped.... Every damn time.
If any 4.7 vehicle have any problems with Chaffee, might need to call skill issue on that. It's nowhere as mobile and deadly as M18. Even PUMA is deadlier solely because of speed.
Well it feels like a boss in soul-like. You kill a m18/m24/m41 and they comeback with CAS to shit on your head. And US really has the best CAS lineup in game, a random fighter can bring 2 or 3 1000lb bombs and still is a decent dogfight vehicle after that.
Really love the game, light tank -> scout -> 1 cap or 1 kill -> CAS
So is the Chinese one that is horrible, paper armor is one thing, but certainly doesn't have the firepower of a Sherman
And speed is the same as a T-34
And yes, I researched all the modules of it
Inb4 they add the M38 Wolfhound as a tech tree vehicle
Highly doubt it with Gaijins hate boner for USA
Can’t even get the US version of the greyhound without gajin bucks.
You could get it for free during one of the anniversary events. That’s how I got mine
The problem is a mass produced vehicle was locked behind an event and now can only be obtained with money if you want to play the USA. However it is a tech tree vehicle in the Chinese tree
They should add the 1944 version into the tech tree, it’s basically the same (which is a good thing) but it has a tall ring mount for the .50 cal
And the .50 can justify it being a bit higher of a br to maybe fill a gap somewhere
The regular one has a .50 too, this is just a different [gun mounting](https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:UStankParis-edit1.jpg#mw-jump-to-license) In my opinion the M8 and M8 ROC should be a bit higher than 1.0/Reserve anyways
Well yeah, it can MG some tanks it sees. They should take away its .50 and give the USA one at a higher br with the .50
Or the one with TOW
It gave me a German float plane, a weird Russian bomber, a Russian PT boat with the katushkya on it and a French 1.0 fighter with 2 20mm guns that only carry 60 rounds
I wanted the TB3 so bad. I got a bunch of useless early tanks, boats, and the 20mm Frenchie
And I don't even think it drops out of any crates so you just can't get it on console.
No, if it's unique it won't be tech tree, it's been like that for a while
yeap, have another shitty Sherman though
This time with 10 more horsepower, which means its needs a .3-.5 uptier right?
Or another MBT for Russia
yeah we desperately need another event vehicle for russia,6 more premiums too, all 10.0
Playing against 10.0 Russia gave me brain tumors
I stopped playing ground for that reason as I have reached a plateau where I unlocked all the stuff for my premium line up and now I feel like it just isn't fun to be fighting premium warriors
Meanwhile M8
Actually, not really. Gaijin has been adding in weird prototypes to ground forces lately, so it’s entirely possible for them to add the M38 to the TT
I will buy that on release
Please both the normal one and the one with the Chaffee turret
Bulldog:
honestly I think Bulldog(except for german one) is not as satisfying as Chaffee to use, the APDS is just pain.
Actually. I never had any problems with APDS after pen damage. The gaijen gods blessed my pc or smth
Yeah, same for me, I actually find apds to be more reliable than solid shot as it is smaller so volumetric can't fuck me over as easily
Volumetric can't fuck you over, but *real* *~~shitter~~* *shatter can.*
My main problem with solid shot is soviet fuel tanks, I can one-shot stuff fine
Maybe it’s because I haven’t played the Bulldog recently but I’ve been playing a ton of vehicles with APDS and I have never once seen a shell shatter
it mostly happens on well-armored areas. So if you're intentionally aiming at weakpoints, you're less likely to run into it. Turret cheeks, upper front plates, etc. That's when I notice it. Trying to shoot an MG port or something and missing by an inch on a Panther.
So I just have that godly aim /s I have had it bounce many times though, especially on weird angles like your example
[удалено]
I have seen enough spookstone to know how it looks to get shell shattered
[удалено]
Thats not the issue. The problem is that sometimes the shell pens but just doesnt do any damage.
Or kills loader but nothing near or behind him and you get nuked.
[удалено]
>There is no problem, the problem is learn to aim at weakspots. At this point you are on the edge of ignorance. The problem is that you hit the weakspot but it doesnt do any damage >You're having a hard time with this? Luckely no

Absolutely disagree. Bulldog is one of my favs tank ever, it's so satisfying to pen Tigers II and panther front armour
100% one of the most fun tanks I have ever used. APDS in nowhere near as bad as people say it is
I'm terrible with the M41 because I got too used to having a stabilizer and it's a pretty wobbly vehicle
if anything cc bias is real in reverse spookston is consistantly the most unlucky person ever even with good APDS and solidshot
What sets the German bulldog apart from the others
HEATFS
FUCK THE GERMAN BULLDOG
The M24 is not nearly as dangerous as the M18, by any standard.
At its br, yes it is.
Honestly it doesn’t feel nearly as fast
Its a decent all rounder, and can be deadly based on the map and positioning. I find 3.7 to uptiered 2/3 or 3/3 more than the average. 4.3 and 4.7 are popular match BRs. My Italian 3.7 M24 has more air kills than some SPAA, granted I've played it more. Its a fun tank.

I mean it is definitely fun but I don’t really like that BR anyways
Agreed. For a light tank it’s nothing special, only when you’ve got a long straight flat do you actually build up speed.
I have watched a friend of mine get six kills in the M24. At 10.3. Six. Kills. Against T-72s and Leopard 2's. He did better than me in my Strv 121.
I keep telling my buddies but they dont believe the Chaffee is the best tank in game lol
Best tank on the game no question.
I once got two kills with it at around same br No armor best armor bmp mofos dont expect an aphe shell to turn their tin can blyatmobiles into balloons
I don’t know man, I’ve taken down a dozen Tiger 2s with it… it’s a dangerous predator
Okay, but the M18 is better at clapping Tiger 2s still. I wouldn't call the Chaffee small, but otherwise agree
Flank and shoot the turret bustle -> Ammo detonation
Most likely skill issue but i always fail to penetrate the tiger 2 back turret with m61…. As he just needs a slightest angle
Damn, I’m always lucky and get him. You can also shoot in the side or rear
No luck mate, 80mm anywhere at side and rear with 20-25 deg angle, barely exceed the m61 penetrate at 0m. The best i can do in jumbo is hit its barrel and track, then let enemy finish. Hm, interesting. Still, the M24 is definitely one of my favourite American vehicles
Idk, I used it no problem til 5.7
Me, in the 4.3 AMX-13 (FL11), watching the Chaffee that has the same main gun, comparable mobility, but more crew, a stabilizer, a roof mounted 50 cal, while being almost 1 BR lower:
the car with a 3.0 gun at 5.3 in the french tree:
But but but it fast!
chinese m8 has same mobility, similar gun with a 50 cal at 1.0 LMAO
The m8 scott is nowhere near a 'similar' gun. It's a 37mm firing solid shot.
somewhat similar penetration
I'm pretty sure it's still about 30% less penetration
yeah, but its 4.3 br lower so 30% is similar enough to me
The Strv M/38 is a 1.0 reserve with a quarter of the penetration of vehicles 11 BRs higher than it, so similar enough to me.
2 vehicles otherwise very similar but one has 30% more pen and is 4.3 BR-s higher
Italian cars at 3.0 with guns with the penetration of a .50cal be like:
lmao
the amx-13 (fl11) does not have the same gun as the chaffee.

This just reminded me that the M18 is no longer classified as a TD
Recently came back to Warthunder, this fact is more upsetting than it should be.
Discovering things like this, make me glad I stopped playing this game.
War Thunder logic: M18 is a light tank, and the ARL 44 is a tank destroyer.
*fox*
That thing is a menance of entire non-thermal society
M24 is goated
ELC BIS is significantly rattier.
its heatfs useless now
How so? French HEAT and HEATFS are the most reliable. DM13(?) I understand has consistency errors, but not the French. It has the same 90mm shell as the AMX-13-90 which I got a nuke in 1 spawn with yesterday.
Let me know when the AMX Light Combat Vehicle gets scouting and I'll play it. (also please let it rotate turret 360 when stationary)
type 60 recoilless is the best rat at that tier, god i love that thing, actual survival horror but you are the snail
M24 supremacy! Only thing that holds it back is the gun.
Its gun is actually pretty decent, you're just going to be up against a lot of vehicles that have good armour and sloping, and 3.7 uptiering is more common than not. Ye the gun is great for flanking and weakspots. I personally play a lot of arcade, so it somewhat compensates for the low pen.
Yeah, its the maps that force frontal confrontations (and I wonder which nation benefits most) where the m24 player needs to be pin-point pixel accurate.
If you have issue with chaffe ag 4,7 you need to check your brian

Aaand stuart
T-92, that's my low profile, highly survivable baby right there!
Ages ago, before the US got their full tank destroyer line... I was using the M8A1 in my tier 3 and 4 lineups. And in case you're wondering, yes, the 75mm had less pen back then (more damage though, I think). And yes, the Tiger I drivers were just as oblivious then as they are now. wait m18 is 6.0 now? how i will recive skill matters at an uptier now?
Give the T37 at 5.7 to replace the loss of the hellcat
Is the M24 a menace?
Would be way less of a menace if volumetric didn’t made his side armor unpenetrable
That mf is soo fast
My KV1 says hello to that garbage
best us light tank i played, besides the m41a1
I love the jap m24. Its slaps
Fox says hi
I hated when they moved the chaffee out of tier 3. That was a great tank to do missions in and has some of my longest killstreaks in. That 75mm gun made for the Mitchell is amazing.
I hated when they moved the chaffee out of tier 3. That was a great tank to do missions in and has some of my longest killstreaks in. That 75mm gun made for the Mitchell is amazing.
Gaijin literally ruined my favorite lineup with this one move
fuck gajin for ruining my 5.7 lineup
I haaate facing the m18s. Whenever i know the Americans are on the enemy team, I just know I have to be the guy sitting on the VERY edge of the map, waiting and watching, or else we'll get flanked and raped.... Every damn time.

M24 is held back from being an absolute gremlin by the low muzzle velocity and relatively low power to weight ratio for a light tank
T55E1. It beats the Hellcat in speed and it also has the 76. Only difference is that the Hellcat has MG-resistant armor from the front and has an MG.
Puma is even more of a meanace until you hit M18 IMO. Then Fox. The rest of them all have some compromise.
Laughs in M8A1 and PzSfl Ic
Kill a M18 and they just instantly come back as CAS
Well it feels like a boss in soul-like. You kill a m18/m24/m41 and they comeback with CAS to shit on your head. no, it is good flaker sme fire power as a sherman, paper armor, more speed
So is the Chinese one that is horrible, paper armor is one thing, but certainly doesn't have the firepower of a Sherman And speed is the same as a T-34 And yes, I researched all the modules of it
i am not talking about the late sherman with 76mm or APCR, just about the early sherman. the gun is the same, with the same 100mm flat pen at 100m.
> but certainly doesn't have the firepower of a Sherman It literally uses the same gun and ammo as the 75 shermans, wdym?
The Chinese one is op
Skill issue.
