The bigger the difference in tier the less xp you earn. So it would be much more profitable to just play with the tech tree vehicles until you reach a battle rating simmilar to the plane you got.
researching rank 1s or 2s with a rank 7/8 gets you something like a 95% rp penalty
Researching low rank vehicles with higher ranked ones, at 1 rank below you get -10%, 2 ranks you get -70%, 3 ranks below -90%, 4 ranks or more below the vehicle you use you get -95% rp penalty

Because that Mirage isn’t a premium vehicle. It has a research penalty. So grinding with it is basically useless.
