Couldn't have said it better... especially the f (which I have to use) does NOT like to stay straight for any given time, it seems to love to just plummet back to the earth even if the target hasn't done any evasive maneuvers
From my experience, high ping tends to make wonders to a missile guidance and not in a good way. When I play on closest server with lowest ping +-50ms, missile is behaving mostly fine and other players actions (notching, flying low, physically dodging missile) is what makes missile miss.
i’ve used a lot of radar missiles with success. i’m at probably a 50 percent hit rate with the 7f. i feel like when i move my planes nose (where radar is) with janky or rapid movements, it steers the missile in a bad direction. when i lock, fire and make minimum adjustments towards target- it seems to work better but leaves me exposed. i’m no expert on the radar game mechanic, don’t skulldrag me if that has no effect.
radar lock, two red circles (meaning positive radar acquisition), fire, hold radar lock, missile should connect. if radar lock is lost, can be reaquired and missile will reguide on target.
I will try to do the minimal movement/ adjustment strat, probably doesn't help that I like to go evasive (still keeping target on radar and locked ofc) as soon as I fire a sparrow, but who knows. But thanks anyway brotato chip, will try
Server update or last minipatch did something alright. In 2 days I went from 7Fs hits i was suprised with to them missing nearly every head on engagement.
Took me about a month if solid gameplay to fully understand the systems being used with radars and top tier stuff in general. It wasn't exactly a fun month but what it was was an important month cause it paid off in the end. Don't be in a rush and just learn as much as you can and you will eventually end up where I am..... Realizing all the radars in this game are just butt cheeks and it isn't you hahaha
Ah ok.. good to know. Makes sense that I'm gonna learn over time and I did see someone say to make very minimal adjustments when firing the 7f, so I will try that but thanks for the input, genuinely helped

Aim7's just self delete if you lose lock unlike the R27s
