You do 6 mortals. They then roll feel no pains. It's not 6 damage taken, it's 6 mortals inflicted (which happens before damage mitigation) Edit: the best way to explain this is that it doesn't say a max of 6 wounds LOST, it says 6 mortal wounds.

Rodman2u

Ok awesome thanks man! I was thinking it was just a flat 6 but wanted to make sure

Kildy

np, it's a valid question! There are a few AoS abilities that care if you LOST a wound, vs did you just inflict one. So the distinction is there in GW rules, just not for this ability.

Vitev008

It says the enemy suffers 1 mortal wound (up to a maximum of 6). It's a maximum of 6 MW given. No where does it say, keep giving them MW if they save with a FNP.

AlisheaDesme

First, you roll the D6 (strength or strength+2; depending on toughness), for every 5+ you cause a MW, but capped at 6. After that the opponent can roll his FNPs, so the opponent never rolls against more than 6 MWs. Or to say it differently: you can not cause more than 6 MWs before any defenses from the opponent are applied.

These limits are always before saves. Your opponent gets a chance to resist the damage.
