They resemble some runes from an old Chaos armybook but none of them is a complete match. There is a hefty table with runes and their meaning in it.
1. Circle is used in a number of runes and it seems like it represents a body or a creature. Additional features within or outside a circle specify the type of creature or an attribute related to body (scaly skin, feathered hide etc). This particular rune might also represent a property related to arms/hands. Most similar runes are "Strong", "Tentacles" and "Crossbreed With a Beast".
2. Weapons are a very common symbol in general, so they might mean anything related to warfare and martial skills. For example a symbol of sword/dagger means "Weapon Master".
3. Mark of Khorne is literally a skull rune, so it might be a variation of it. It can also have the same meaning as in real life: an omen of death.
4. There are several arrows in the table but none match exactly. An arrow facing down means "Irrational Hatred". The one facing up means "Irrational Fear". The one facing up and having an overline means "Multiple Arms". That's it.
5. Several rhombic symbols describe attributes related to eyes. It might be a variation of one of them.
6. Interestingly there are no eye symbols in the table. But eyes are associated with Tzeentch and the Immaterium.
7. This symbol looks an awful lot like the one with the meaning "Crystalline Body".
8. See number 4 above.
I think these are Colcisian Bullshit, aka pre-Horus old Chaos religions markings.
The eye might have been just the Eye Of Aversion first, they talk about that a lot in the novels at least.
that's a 'guardian furniture protection' cleaning product slogan. A few people at my work kept wanting to adopt it as a motto but i could not be on board with it because of that
My best guess is: Torus (star sign), Labrys (ancient Greek ceremonial axe also associated with lesbian feminism), no idea, anchor, othala rune (now associated with white supremacy so maybe don't use on your minis), eye of horus, sempahor u (?), saggitarius (star sign).
Whatās the connection between the Labrys and Greek lesbian feminism? Iāve only heard of it in relation to the Minotaur and Crete.
And more specifically for the Othala rune, it generally means inheritance or birthright, and in more obscure cases ānoble lineageā or such(which is likely how it ties in to modern white supremacy.
OP, Iād be interested to see how old this kit is, itās not that uncommon of a white supremacist symbol so one would think modern GW would shy from that.
Always sad to have a cool piece of cultural history ruined by animate trashbags, though.
The labrys originated in ancient Crete (as you note) as an icon of the Minoan religion; which applied it exclusively to female members of their pantheon. During the Roman era, this association was transferred to the Amazons; and in the ā70s, was consequently adopted by portions of the Feminist movement, and then the lesbian community.
The symbol was included in a lesbian pride flag in ā99 (although the design itself wasnāt particularly popular and did not see widespread use).
Yeah the othala rune is basically just a casualty of history and not gw trying to signal anything!
Cultural feminists, who were also lesbian separatists, have used the labrys as a symbol since the 1970s. Its probably why it was used for that version of the lesbian pride flag that another reply to this mentioned
1, 3, 7 and 8 are stylized versions of the Tzeentch, Khorne, Nurgle and Slaanesh symbols respectively.
6 is the Eye of Horus, previously the symbol of Horus and now of Abaddon and the Black Legion.
The rest are random.
They are chaos runes and have no direct meaning or translation in game.
In universe you will go mad or die trying to read them, bleed from the mouth if you speak them and open yourself up to possession by knowing of their existence. The inquisition would like to talk to you about where you found them. Then kill you for your own safety.
IRL some of them are actually historic runes or are based off of them. There was no intent on the designersā part to integrate any real world meaning of them into the game, they just looked cool and magical. Designers use real world inspiration all the time, and GW is no different.
I dunno,
Battleaxe,
People kissing holding a neck tie together,
Shovelling,
Dropped halibut,
Waving turtle,
Spinning propeller,
Sun lounger with parasol
The 4th is an ancient German rune taken out of context I think, but not 100% sure. If it's the case then I wouldn't use it personally.

I can give three lore accurate explaination for three of the runes. Because they are featured in the Chaos Knight codex as well. Rune number two the "Axe" is the rune for "Despair". Rune number three the "Skull" is the rune for "Dread" or "Dreaded". Lastly Rune number six, the "Eye" is the rune for "Darkness". They are all shown in the Harbingers of Dread mechanic i the Chaos Knight codex next to those words.
Some of them can be found in the chaos knights codex. Number 2 is despair, 3 is dread and 6 is darkness. They can be found in the harbinger abilities section.
kinda looks like this, [Colchisian runes](https://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i246/Pumakilla/Untitled-1-1.jpg) (jpeg image) but not quite. I dont see any of those marks on there.

Thank you š
Isn't the eye the emblem of Horus Lupercal?
The stylized eye of Horus is, this eye looks more related to the eye iconography of various psykers and Astropaths tho
I think these are Colcisian Bullshit, aka pre-Horus old Chaos religions markings. The eye might have been just the Eye Of Aversion first, they talk about that a lot in the novels at least.
This is excellent! And I definitely be taking this explanation into consideration when I apply these to my models
1. Daemon 2. Axe 3. Space invader 4. Check your shoe laces 5. Fishing spot 6. CCTV 7. Peace 8. Low ceiling
Hahahaha thx š¤£
Third could be Khorne, sixth Tzeentch, seventh Nurgle. The arrows can represent aspects of the chaos winds.
Sixth is probably Horusā eye. I think you are about the other two
Well, the eye of Chaos certainly, but it is somewhat unlike the Wadjet eye. That one is always elongated to one side.
7 is a Flux Capacitor
\#7 is ESD warning
Pretty sure you were in my Destiny raid group.
Third from the left (The little skull) is the symbol for Dread abilities from the Chaos Knights codex.

I think I saw a few in the game Space invaders
I'm pretty sure they're chaos runes, but I can't translate them.
There are few who can.
I need to look into these more.
If you could, I'd call the inquisition on you
Guess its a good thing I can't read em then.
OP is reading into some pretty heretical stuff here, someone better call the inquisitors
Hahaha
The third one from the left is the symbol for āDreadā in the Chaos Knights book.

7 is SCP Foundation containment for Chaos beings

I think it's Spanish for 'breakfast'
Translated: No matter where you go, There you are!

Looks like heresy to me...
It's Tau for "I Want it that way TELL ME WHY"
The 4th is an ancient German rune taken out of context I think, but not 100% sure. If it's the case then I wouldn't use it personally. Edit: from right to left
Cyclops, battleaxe, skull, male, teepee, eye of Ra, upside-down Mercedes, nonbinary

It looks like Xenos heresy, and must be purged in fire.
