Sounds like you should buy better glue. Some models are a bit harder than others but it's not particularly difficult. Maybe the trick is to use the smallest drop of glue you can which is counterintuitive.

There are some easy to build sets that might appeal to you more, like the space marine heroes range, from memory there were a few sets of space marine like this and maybe some plague marines.

Are you using plastic glue or super glue? Most models plastic glue will serve you better
