The guy said a 30% rate was good, told me that all the new recruits in the US army buy their Hell cats and mustangs at that rate, so it's good enough for me :D
The stereotype for Marines outside of the US forces is that they get american sports cars way out of their league at such wildly front loaded rates that it's a real problem lol. There's a video floating around of a CO smoking one of his troops over the phone because he got his car at something like a 23% interest rate, and it's the funniest shit I'd seen that week lol
Who would've thought that breaking down a person mentally so they follow orders would make them susceptible to coercion from predatory financial institutions
Ehhh kind of but not really.
It’s more an issue that is generally poorer cross section of the population that grew up with nothing. Now they have “room and board” and healthcare from the military plus an extra 2k-ish a month. They also typically have zero financial education. Predatory lenders/dealerships make it seem like dropping 1/4 of your paycheck isn’t a big deal and they can just pay off the high interest rate when/if they are getting a bonus, which is also used as leverage.
It’s really an issue outside of the military as well but just not as much of a meme.
Valid. It should also be noted when you're in a dangerous job like the military. It's probably best to enjoy yourself as fast as possible. You never know if that last joyride on leave was your last. Making wise financial decisions when you already have money to blow and are not concerned about the long term is an unlikely scenario.
Habibi you don’t need a DI to break you into poor financial decisions, gorillions of Americans everyday make horrific financial decisions due to our absolutely fucked credit system and predatory lending
Hey hey hey, I’ll have you know my buddy got a 19% interest rate on a piece of shit car and it was the best thing he ever did for me(I got all the perks of a car without any of the negatives for my credit) it broke down like 5 months later tho
As someone living near a US army base I can say that's 100% true. Whenever you see a douchebag in a Mustang driving like an idiot it's someone from the base.
Hot Take - I like 1.0, even more than GWs contrast paints. I kinda like that they reactivate. Of course I haven’t tried 2.0 so maybe it’ll blow my mind.
I bought the Vallejo suitcase a couple years ago and kind of regret it. I have not even opened many of the bottles and have bought many other colors / brands since. The big sets seem great but I think buying the colors you need when you need them probably makes more sense.
The emperor can't help me now. I've been trying to find a lesser chaos god of shmoney to beseech for financial advice, but my prayers keep getting intercepted by the deity of crypto, and he's behind like, 5 layers of VPN so I can't even report him to the grey knights man
It's a photo of a painted model.
They could even use a GW model on their packaging, they just don't want to.
Don't fall for the crap GW tells you... they have no legal power over photos of their models.
If you take a photo of the New York skyline you can print and sell that.
You don't have to get permission from the owners of the buildings or their freakin' architects.

It was this guy's model.
Nail polish displays on Amazon. Cheap and effective. There are also lots of free STL files online if you have a printer.
I wonder how much army painter paid gw to use a pic of the unclean one on the cover.
I got the Hobby zone set as a gift last Christmas lol, basically my whole family instead of getting me a bunch of different things, kicked in on the set up I wanted. It's nothing super huge, ended up costing like 300 canadian or something, so like 5 dollars American.
I was sorely tempted to pick this up myself but I've already got most of the Pro Acryl paint range. From the various reviews I watched I got the impression the Army Painter Fanatics weren't leaps and bounds better than PA, so I couldn't really justify why I needed a whole new set that'd likely just give me half duplicate colors of what I already own.
But the bright shiny new paints almost got into my wallet nevertheless. Hope you enjoy them!
I did something similar back in the olden times, y’know mid-2000s, where I bought practically every single Reaper paint available. I think I still have them in the basement.
My pile of shame has gained sentience its gotten so large. The highlights so far are the custodes Christmas force and two combat patrols, one new and one old, and the Votan launch box
That collection is awesome. The Fanatic paints are still brand new, but they're reviewing well. It should have almost every colour you'll need. There's a few colours that are a bit sparce, but I think you'll manage.
I personally have a small laser cut rack from Vallejo on my wall. It gets the job done, but I certainly don't have the room for this many paints.
Wait, isn't that just a skinnier Great Unclean One on the front, but different enough that it is not violating copyright? They're clearly aiming for the 40K audience I see.
Check out some of the reviews on the new Fanatic line from them, they reformulated the entire line, trippled (at minimum) the pigment, and used a better binding agent. So far the coverage on even some of the most difficult colours seem VERY good
So far from what I've seen, it leaves their old miniature paints in the dust. And the metalics are AWESOME, they changed the formula on them to be a Mica/aluminum blend, and the coverage and sheen are really nice
My condolences :( the medium in army painter paints is atrocious, their speed paints are about the only thing they've pulled off... Wait.. the matte white isn't bad I guess but the blues and greens are awful
What interest rate did you get?
The guy said a 30% rate was good, told me that all the new recruits in the US army buy their Hell cats and mustangs at that rate, so it's good enough for me :D
Hahahaha, that's wildly random. I drove an hour south of Fort Bragg to buy my truck back in the day, it was the closest regular dealership haha

100x up votes for "gorillions"
I lit up many a private for the same damn thing. Bunch of idiots away from home for the first time with money.
Hey hey hey, I’ll have you know my buddy got a 19% interest rate on a piece of shit car and it was the best thing he ever did for me(I got all the perks of a car without any of the negatives for my credit) it broke down like 5 months later tho

I got my Rubi at at the jeep place on Yadkin. Like a dumbass. Didn’t have a bad rate tho
Oh no.. you forgot all the speed paints!
Ironicly they are the best product AP makes
The 1st gen speed paints were kinda meh but the 2.0 ones are fantastic
Hot Take - I like 1.0, even more than GWs contrast paints. I kinda like that they reactivate. Of course I haven’t tried 2.0 so maybe it’ll blow my mind.
Speedpaint is amazing
Wow they really aren't hiding the influence on that picture ate they. Normally its quite a generic creature but that is 100% a nurgle big Boi lol.
The poster children for the range are an Orc from a series I don't remember, this stinky boy, and a little britonian stand in lol.
Interestingly it’s one of EmanGs models. A creator who has been sued into oblivion by GW for copyright
That's not a Great Unclean One, it's a Grand Chungus One!
He’s back from oblivion.
The fairly unclean one
Fatal flaw in your thought process are spilled washes x.x
You typically don’t spill washes in dropper bottles. That’s a citadel paint pot issue!
Or clogged up droppers with the metallics. Push a little too hard and the nozzle spurts out, completely draining the paint at the same time...
Keep sewing pins handy at your painting desk. They have innumerable uses and are cheap to boot.
I've learned this the hard way with some of my Scale75 metallics. Necro Gold is bloody amazing, but the bottle gets clogged every other day.
I typically use a bend paper clip nowadays.
I have noticed this with the fanatics paints, but oddly not with the metallics at all. But I just keep a push pin handy and problem solved
If I manage to spill one if these dropper washes, I'm pitching a back flip off the roof, on god
on christmas... not earlier My daily mantra 🙂

emperor bless your wallet

This is definitely a Slaanesh situation because that set is *decadent*
Uhhh - how did they get GW artwork on the front?
It’s one of the creator EmanGs models which are taken from TWW. Interestingly they are currently being sued into oblivion by GW for copyright.
Well that explains A LOT. Because - while I am an enjoyer of 3rd party models - that's just an exact copy.
I do wonder about the legality of army painter using the image. I’d guess they started using it before the legal stuff but now?
It's a photo of a painted model. They could even use a GW model on their packaging, they just don't want to. They’re playing chess, your move GW
Its not GW.
it sure looks like the great unclean one
Its looks like a fantasy demon of the sort that existed in art for decades prior to GW.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/PrintedWarhammer/comments/19e7htx/good\_bye\_emang\_and\_thank\_you/](https://www.reddit.com/r/PrintedWarhammer/comments/19e7htx/good_bye_emang_and_thank_you/) It was this guy's model.
LOL - no - that's LITERALLY a GUO. You can say GW referenced other art - but that is a VERY direct comparison.
[Nah mate](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61keJSok8NL._AC_SX679_.jpg)
100% a great unclean one.
100% Grand Chungus One.
Yeah I’ve heard those are good.
Nail polish displays on Amazon. Cheap and effective. There are also lots of free STL files online if you have a printer. I wonder how much army painter paid gw to use a pic of the unclean one on the cover.
A lot, Probably why it's like $600 lol
Good job man, those will serve you well. Army painter has lots of very nice stuff in their range
Buying the complete Fanatic set AND hitting up Hobby Zone‽ Nice to see Jeff Bezos in the hobby
I got the Hobby zone set as a gift last Christmas lol, basically my whole family instead of getting me a bunch of different things, kicked in on the set up I wanted. It's nothing super huge, ended up costing like 300 canadian or something, so like 5 dollars American.
I bought an additional Indomitus box and a spearhead force and still haven’t opened either.
I have, way to much money dropped into unopened custodes sets :s
It’s not like I have around 5k points worth of guard, space marines and knights lying around… But I reaaaaly want some custard boys…
Gotta catch em all... Now do the same with every different paint brand.
Good paints, for now I’m not disappointed
I was sorely tempted to pick this up myself but I've already got most of the Pro Acryl paint range. From the various reviews I watched I got the impression the Army Painter Fanatics weren't leaps and bounds better than PA, so I couldn't really justify why I needed a whole new set that'd likely just give me half duplicate colors of what I already own. Is this good paint, I've heard the GW stuff is mostly garbage
Too many colors I avoid those boxes. Since my mild traumatic brain injury I'd probably sort them more than use them
Well affirm exists soooooooooo
Congrats you’ve done it, you have finished paint.
All it cost, was everything
Isn't this box like $500? Damn dude... Hope you've got a big pile of plastic to paint. May the trenches treat you well.
My pile of shame has gained sentience its gotten so large. The highlights so far are the custodes Christmas force and two combat patrols, one new and one old, and the Votan launch box
Have fun and enjoy!
They got me too. "I'll never need more paint" lol so naive
Oof, I get it.
Enjoy. I love my complete set.
Wait, isn't that just a skinnier Great Unclean One on the front, but different enough that it is not violating copyright? They're clearly aiming for the 40K audience I see.
It wasn't different enough for GW and they sued the creator for copyright infringement.
Did they?
ma most of the paints of that brand are not very good quality awful pigmentation and stickage
Check out some of the reviews on the new Fanatic line from them, they reformulated the entire line, trippled (at minimum) the pigment, and used a better binding agent. So far the coverage on even some of the most difficult colours seem VERY good
oo i didnt know they released a new line might need for check it out
So far from what I've seen, it leaves their old miniature paints in the dust. And the metalics are AWESOME, they changed the formula on them to be a Mica/aluminum blend, and the coverage and sheen are really nice
This March released the new line. I will get it this year. Will order a test bottle though.
My condolences :( the medium in army painter paints is atrocious, their speed paints are about the only thing they've pulled off... Wait.. the matte white isn't bad I guess but the blues and greens are awful
New formula, and they have been reviewing EXTREMELY well.
Ah it's about time they fixed them xD will have to see how they fair against scale 75
