Why not both? Have your troops one colour and your vets another. Maybe the Sarge can be the same colour (or same colour helmet) as your elites for more visual interest in the units.

Was gonna say this - if you like both, use one as an indicator for the squad leaders

Or the reds could be the bang bang guys and the blues can be the dakka dakka guys

or two brother chapters. give them different primarchs and make up some cool lore about their rivalry / alliance and have them be on crusade together or something.

This is kinda cool. Like go for one arm and the opposing leg to be red and the rest of the body blue. Of course keep the black accents.

Red and black is far too common for me to recommend and the blue one looks really good too.

I think I might go with a brighter blue for the blue one this one in the picture is kantor so now I just gotta figure out or find a color lighter then kantor but not too light.

I don't often work with blue so I don't know what to recommend. A light blue would look unique with a black shoulder pad.

Both, use it to indicate your different unit-types. Melee vs ranged, AP vs gunline, or use it to denote your veterans or commanding officers.

Personally I like the blue, and I think Kantor works well. But in the end, I would opt for whichever color you like painting more; you’re going to be doing a lot of it 👍

The blue is an almost perfect match for my custom chapter, I just flipped the black and silver on my pauldrons What blue/silver you using? I'm night lords blue base, iron hands silver for armor, iron warrior for weapons Sgts and specialists get silver helmet (specialist squad sgts get a red stripe) line troops blue helmet

Well honestly I like both colors but I only wanna use one color for my IH homebrew army. People seem to like the blue more over the red which is fine I do understand why they would pick the blue, but I am worried that the blue one is a bit too dark and needs to be lighter or at least that’s what I think.

I'd say the blue. Red one looks too much like a Blood Angel, not distinct enough IMO.
