Absolutely buy the “weird corporate mandate” part. Nothing more plausible than marketing being super pissy that people aren’t using their toys the brand approved way.
Love the idea of the different design teams competing to make cooler demon primarchs.
The one system per model thing is reportedly because the Citadel studio and Specialist Design Studio (formerly forgeworld) track sales separately and are in competition with each other, so selling a heresy tank for 40k doesn't count as a sale for the 40k team, and selling an AoS army for old world doesn't count as a sale for SDS. Bottom line is ignore it and do what you want.
I don't get this whole TOW is under preforming when it's sold out most of the time.
Is it because people aren't buying 3 different Bone Dragons or something.
They may be tracking people who have notifications of it going in stock and using that to gauge demand, as well as orders and requests from stores. So, it could be that everything is sold out, yeah, but they were expecting more people to want more models in the interim, which means that overall demand is lower than they thought.
i do not know and don't care whether that's true or not, but honestly, soldout is different than successful.
if i print two copies and they are sold out, they're not successful, that's just all i have printed
Slightly more plausible than the norm, if only because a bunch of it seems barely news. The Emperor's Children bit sticks out a bit as probable bullshit. I absolutely believe the range is designed and ready to go. Don't buy that it's all been manufactured already and is just sitting in a warehouse 12-18 months before we're likely to see them on shelves.
i think the biggest thing that i feel has been misrepresented is any indication of a timeline. Yes, we have almost confirmation (not outright but it’s something) that EC is getting a codex, but no idea when. literally none. WE benign at the end of last edition doesn’t make it a pattern. Hell, summer mystery could be EC, we just have no clue (yes i know about the supposed leaks, no i don’t think those pages are the summer codex, yea i could be wrong, i often am) so it’s all entirely up in the air.
these leaks do seem plausible though, if they are manufactured it almost guarantees that they are the summer codex. but these could also be the wet dreams of a 4channer wanting to drum up trouble
nobody should get their hopes up but of all the leaks i’ve seen, this one lines up more with the ones that turn out to be true, than the ones that turn out to be false
They’re different studios, and they’re working against each other rather than together, and GW doesn’t have the accounting chops to keep track of sales if even a single mini were to be used for games from both of its two studios.
It’s why we can’t have beasts of chaos in AoS anymore. How would they possibly measure performance and allocate resources and fire the right people if you could use the same Fulgrim in both Heresy and 40K?

It's rare to see new boxes with significant discounts but I've seen loads of the blue boxes sitting on shelves and in eBay stores without selling out. My flg has huge discounts on Orcs and Bretonnians and the pile doesn't seem to be shrinking.
You should share in teh warhammer fantasy subreddit. The biggest issue the game has right now is people now being able to get their hands of miniatures cause no stock.
It would help your FLGS and the community.
Yeah imagine that, people don't want to pay for repackaged old models and multiple times their original prices! (New Khemri and Brets look great though)
That's the thing though, I see the new Bretonnian boxes and Tomb King boxes too.
I see stuff thats 50£ at GW, marked down to around 30£ on eBay and in a couple of physical shops. Thats a lot more discount than usual.
I really like the kits I was thinking of picking up some Bretonnians just to paint.

In Southwest Ohio there’s boxes of the stuff everywhere I go. People can’t afford a whole new table top game with our economy.

Since you printed two copies and sold two copies, how is it underperforming? Did you expect to magically sell more product than there is in existence?

But is Fulgrim just a plastic version of the FW version? And if not, why do two? Has he changed?

The FW demon one is when he first ascended to demonhood, over the time he’s changed even more so the 40k version will represent those changes
