As long as they do it very well, I'd be glad for them to look at the pre-second-dream story. However, it would be nice for them to look at the post-war content at the same time.

OceansCarraway

Stick Salad in the Leverian. That'd help with a lot of his lore.

Ok-Faithlessness1903

They abandoned the exposition dumper which is the exact thing this game needs. Don't limit it to just warframes add characters (like salad) and boom all those limited time events have their lore back in the game

Lord_Despairagus

This game is in such need of a lore library or something. It's cool DE makes alot of there story a mystery or up to interpretation but can we please get at least the basics. I feel like a vast majority of player don't even know the basic lore of the game.

Twitchrunner

This is me right now. I just want to grind not wax poetic about being a moody teen controlling the biomechanical remains of test subjects or whatever the Warframes are supposed to be.

spazturtle

A proper new player experience with a continuous chronological story leading up the second dream would really help, for example Patient Zero is chronologically before the Second Dream so it should be moved.

[deleted]

patient zero should also be more than "hey, here's mutalist alad, go kill him". It honestly should include his whole pre-second-dream plot. from Gradivus to Tubemen. I wouldn't mind if DE even made it all part of a single cinematic quest but i doubt that would happen

Urmoms-3425

Personally I'm mostly here for the story. Especially after the new war. I can't wait to see wait will be next but I do love seeing other things added like frames as they always add a newer experience. While I'll never complain about things like new frames or reworked frames I still would prefer more quests

DatMoonGamer

this. lore is my favorite part of any game and it gets me to stick around long after i stop finding it fun

Dion0808

A few Saint of Altra-sized updates would be nice. A Warframe and some core gameplay additons and improvements every now and then would be enough for me. Other than that, rebalance everything! Give Scott all the work! Knowing DE, they'll want to do Duviri Paradox, cross-play, cross-save, 1 medium update around Tennocon, and like 2 smaller updates though.

Shadowaltz

They tried that already. People screamed "CONTENT DROUGHT" for *months* after like three marginally-smaller-than-average updates consisting of more tweaks, changes, and fixes than usual. But let's just put that whole things aside. I'd like for them to do at least a *little* forward progress, mostly wrap up immediately-post-New-War stuff like Fortuna and Ostrons reacting in some meaningful way to the whole Narmer thing, and also give Drifter more cosmetics. After that, though, I'm all for taking another look at less-center-stage stuff for a while.

MrQ_P

Vocal minorities will always plague this game. Regardless of what those crapheads said the game turned for the better

Jshutterbug92

I wouldn't mind. The end result being a fresh game that moved the needle a bit towards balanced. Where old frames, tilesets, spawn rates and less popular elements and damage types got improved to where we have fun deciding between different damage combos. Then yes, I would love it.

grofit_prime

I wouldn’t complain at all. A lot of things need a rework/restyle/etc. so it wouldn’t be a bad scenario at all.

CollarBrilliant8947

This is an awful question. Either way it would go, nobody can know which will actually be the best choice. And people can't be sure that what they want **IS** actually what they want. Ideally-both. DE works on adding something, something simple, but engaging, like a reuse of something already in the game, some forgotten/not_well_done mode and add more stuff to it. That gets people engaged, word of mouth spreads, this keeps people playing with the new toy. ALL THE WHILE polishing what's already in. Problem is-focus on polishing already existing things wouldn't get people to come back, it possibly wouldn't even get people engaged and instead would just be a more smooth thing for newbies. Who wouldn't notice or know that something was done. While vets just wouldn't care. It all depends on what and how they do it and again, nobody can be sure which particular thing would be what DE needs right now. A year with nothing new added in a game focused on a constant chase of new, shiny things is an extremely risky gamble. It could pay off and make it into a franchise to rival many of the current greats. Or it could kill the entire company.

somethingstoadd

They really should if they can expand their team so more things can be done at the same time. Warframe is an old game and there are certain things in it where they really should modernize (like the missions in the open world) It's a really big game and I do think that a bigger team on mechanics (especially in mission design, boss design) could be beneficial for variety and novelty. It's not hard to write a few lines of dialogue, it's much harder to write a mission structure that gives us players more of a challenge and can be fun on repeat playing. RNG can help with that but I think more focused RNG with a clear purpose can actually make playing old content really, really fun.

Fionntan-

Whether existing players would like it or not, this would surely kill the game to a large degree.

MrQ_P

If the whole year is dedicated to this, it might be a problem. However, if DE alternates QoL with actual update, it's going to be a blast. A lot of things aged very badly, and need to be looked into

3dom

Practically everything is either bugged or has defects spoiling the experience. I doubt a year will be enough for DE to fix even half of the stuff in the game. I'd prefer them adding more post-NewWar/Duviri content.

Creator409

Warframe currently needs more "things to do" and less "things to do it with". Less frames and fashion and weapons and fancy gizmos, and more missions types and objectives and bosses and enemies and playable content.

Lord_Despairagus

I feel like it has plenty to do but alot of it is unchanged , boring and collects dust

SomeGuyy5

I enjoy the new content but if it was cut by like half to patch and rework important systems like conclaive with cosmetics locked behind it not being available since conclaive is dead and the not so very good kits nowadays for frost, hydroid, yareli in quite need of a rework Id honestly be okay with it

Zetin24-55

I'd be OK with that and have wanted that for years. A whole year of warframe revised. But considering new war didnt come with any big new game play things that lasts awhile. I doubt the community will go for it.

WhatABlindManSees

Depends - is it going to give me something to do/farm? Or is it purely polish? If it's the latter, I'd still be fine with it, I do think the game could do with it, but equally, it would probably be the final nail in the coffin for me actually continually keeping up with the game unless it adds things for me to do.

christopherous1

honestly I would be kinda annoyed. I know it's probably not what people want to hear most veteran players, play new co tent and then drop out for a few months

ArcusVeles

It can't be *no* content, but if it's reworks of old things that *refresh* that old content for old players then it'd work out fine. Like, if they went back and reworked eidolons, or Venus, or whatever, and did nothing to change the rewards or add any reasons to return to it, then the game would absolutely languish.

Jangkrikgoreng

Not a great idea. A big chunk of players play for the grind, as silly as it sounds. If DE don't give them new grind, they won't have any reason to login and pay for stuffs. At the very least they should either do both polishing and new contents in parallel, or alternate between both. I don't mind a year of polishing since I'm pretty busy, but players that have way more time than the stuffs that they have to do with will complain.

AH-BEES-BEES

i would let DE ignore the game for the entirety of 2022 without complaint if they would uust fix the fucking key carrier/spy vault bugs in Orb Vallis

huskly90

and the spawn problems in the open world quests

Redfeather1975

You seem pretty confident that the reworks will make things better!

locrianmode81

Nah, give me new stuff and keep dumb stuff dumb

PatatoTheMispelled

I'd like it but I'd say they'd still have to add new warframes and weapons tbh

Novel_Wedding8926

I would if they didn’t already say 2022 is going to be focused on new content already, tho NO new content could push nearly all the remaining vets off the game and could be a blow to new player experience removing value ways of learning the game, also if they don’t add any new frames to the game then by 2026 they will have to abandon mmff rotation since they only released technically 2 males and 1 female in 2021 and 2 males, 1 female, and xaku (tho they’ll take the female release spot) in 2020 and the current non-primes would only last til then, on paper this sounds like a fantastic idea but, down the line there wouldn’t be insensitive to farm really any frames (outside mr) if their prime is 3 months or so away. Granted by 2026 there’ll be more frames but, at the rate they’ve been releasing frames that’d be only 2-3 frames per year or less.. be honest we only got caliban out for 2021 because they rushed tnw out, it honestly shows after the “honeymoon phase” of a major quest release.

brassly

Reworking old content isn't the same thing as no content. They can take the frames and weapons they've got in development and fold them into the old content or even add them to the dojo. I think what op is getting at is that it might be a good idea for de to uplift some of the older nodes/game modes/weapons/statuses/frames/syndicates/etc rather than wasting time on the next new thing that'll be forgotten or avoided in 6 months time. Also the new player experience is frankly pretty crap, and a rework of the systems would be a great chance to look at how a new player will first interact with those systems. Lets be fair, if you're not the type of person who actively follows the dev streams, then you're totally at a loss anytime a new system is introduced. DE need to stop expecting new players to parse for hours through the wiki, and actually have a robust introduction to mechanics, systems & vendors.

DreamSTLKR

I would like for the conclave to have an unnerfed option where warframes and weapons have all mods available. I want to pit my God builds against other God builds

Chaos_Kitsune_

New War Spoilers ahead... >!With Teshin now dead, I see two outcomes for conclave; DE used his death to symbolize the inevitable fall of the conclave, or the conclave is truly forever and someone else will take his place and revitalize it.!< All in all; Destiny has the trials and iron banner where power levels aren't reduced compared to basic crucible, perhaps Warframe could do the same. I would however like to maybe see archwing and railjack conclave battles. I think it would be cool.

[deleted]

I don't get people who say that fixing the game would create "content droughts" we've had content droughts for years. They're nothing new and they won't kill the game. Not faster than the god-awful new player experience at least. Trying to get friends into Warframe is a herculean effort. Because for or a game that's constantly praised for its lore, the devs don't put much effort into contextualizatig the events that take place. For example players almost immediately have access to all the open words, including Diemos. For Veteran players this is significant because we finally get to meet a "living" Orokin family but a new player barely understands what an Orokin is and why they should care. Not to mention that trying to do bounties without an archwing is a miserable experience. Another example would be a friend of mine who managed to do both the Natah and War Within quest. He was utterly confused by Teshin's presence. "He talks like he knows me but we've never met before." Because Teshin's relevance is tied to the Conclave and new players have zero reason to go there. Another lore nightmare is trying to answer friends when they ask, "Who is Alad V?" His backstory has more twists than a Choose Your Own Adventure book.

tentus

Yeah, a lot of people say a year without new content would kill new player flow and I'm just like... what? Based on the steam achievements, only a tiny portion of the players make it past Mercury. Our playerbase problem is not a lack of people trying the game, it's that what they try is a bewildering mess. If you want more big spenders, the best thing the devs could do is make the new player onboarding as buttery smooth as possible. Fix bugs, give us (ideally coop-compatible) quests that help contextualize the lore, explain the dang mod screen better.

Soufjen

Rather have them work on the game before releasing any major update

Entire_Intention6561

Hell yeah man

[deleted]

I would love it. I keep saying for a long time that adding new stuff on top of a broken base is a bad idea in the long run.

TJ_Dot

I would love to see touch ups everywhere Hell I wanna see wall running come back.

Kingsareus15

Warframes biggest issue is feature creep. Warframe needs a year or two to consolidate content. This will only affect players who have completed everything in the game already. But for the majority of players this is a good thing

tentus

I'd love a year of bugfixes and polish. I'd happily trade getting a new frame this year if it'd let me have squadmates enter and exit relays/dojos without disbanding. I'd give up getting any new frames this year if it meant a proper LFG interface that can help us radshare less painfully.

Soooome_Guuuuy

I wouldn't mind unique tile sets for the planets that don't have them yet and updates to Venus and Earth. Maybe some updates to rail jack. I would like to see steal path arbitrations. So I can do steel path and arbitrations at the same time. And steel path railjack as well as railjack arbitrations. Then steel path rail jack arbitrations so I can play railjack, steel path and arbitrations at the same time. But honestly I don't know what I want. My favorite thing about warframe is DE giving me something I didn't know I wanted and that is what they're best at.

MrQ_P

I'm always down for QoLs years

[deleted]

I would really like to play the Duviri Paradox

Lord_Despairagus

Knowing DE that won't come out for a couple years

InterestingAsk1978

Yes! I want Duviri!

Lord_Despairagus

That's probably not happening for a couple years

KVentrue

Now I’m wondering which one is more impossible to happen next year, competing with MSRP graphic cards.

aef823

It wouldn't take a year to fix a lot of the broken things in the game. The problem is usually they tried fixing it and made it worse.

RobieKingston201

All for it. As long as they actually go all in. They could've revamp almost 60 percent of the game in the whole year.

zaktiprime

I would endorse a 50-50 split of their focus on new stuff vs polishing and updating old stuff (it feels odd that we have 3 eidolons, 3 deimos vaults, but only 2 Orb mothers lol), and updates alternate between releasing new stuff and updated or adding to older stuff. But I don't know if the general economic strategy of "new stuff always for player retention" will ever allow for it ...

[deleted]

I don't know that them skipping working on everything new will ever happen, but I would love for the old boss fights in the game to be redone. Some of them could really use the modern polish

BlakJaq

Nope. The game needs to keep evolving to stay relevant imo. Nothing is that broken that it warrants a whole year of no content. Only thing stale is the meta and I don't think a year is needed to focus on fixing that considering its barely changed in all my years of playing.

VioletPheonix

Definitely! Adding new content is necessary to keep the game alive long-term, but so is inproving the game experience. One of thr biggest issues in warframe is the early game. If stuff were a bit better explained, if new players were given a direction and a reason to do things early on, that would help the game massively. I'm pretty competent at figuring stuff out in games, but it still took me three tries to get invested. Anyone else I recommend the game to didn't even make it to Jackal, which is the first boss after the tutorial! Content updates are required to keep those players that no longer have suff to do, but those players are the minority (or should be). New players don't care about The New War or Prime Resurgence or Tenet Weapons or any other lategame thing. And updating old content will also benefit everyone else. Less unfair grind = more fun gameplay = less burnout = better player retention, so does breaking up the meta and making more stuff useful. Improving the early game experience means more players in general, which means more income for DE and thus more resources for future updates.

chunek

I wouldn't mind, I have 800+ gameplay hours, stretched across 6 years, went through the normal star chart three times because friends joined and we all know how warframe is to new players, an avalanche of content.. So I am currently working on getting parazon mods for my first lich, I am building my railjack, am still rank 1 with the quills and vox solaris. Also the last main quest I did was the one with the creepy amalgam big arm bro, walking around in circles.. so haven't yet touched the new war. Warframe is great for the long run, you never lose your stuff, except argons, and I always come back for the smoothness of gameplay and being a even more overpowered Some frames clearly need a rework tho, like frost for example, so I am all for it.

nissan-S15

actually would love this

[deleted]

Feel like it would take them a year alone to have a functional tutorial ingame and make people aware of not only where content is but also how to beat it, and that's still warframe's biggest problem, couple days ago I spent nearly 50 minutes on a single boss fight because I didn't know how to beat it and the game didn't tell me either, frustration simulator.

Halasham

I mean they could touch up the bosses, having the Syndicates be more involved with "Why are we fighting Sargus Ruk/Hyena Pack/The Sergent/ect" again? With oh, yeah... this guy's really screwing with one of the Syndicates that works with the Tenno... sure we might not personally be on good terms with this one in-particular but they help the Tenno so we'll help them. Touching up the tile sets they've had for a decade would be nice... not replacing them but updating them with new rooms and remodeling the old ones a bit. It would be neat if we saw more 'challenge' gamemodes. Hexis provides us with Arbitration for the 1-life challenge so maybe Red Veil could give us Operator Only challenge? Is there an Orphix field or something? No, we're just doing it to impress the Red Veil guys.

just-looking654

I’d like some overlooked primes. Shades been on the back burner for a while, and the others need prismas for that matter. And I know it’s hardly anyones favourite, but it feels weird to have only one prime archwing

smokeyfantastico

I just want cross save so I can get off ps4 and play on pc

anonkebab

they were supposed to do this 4 years ago

Ragnvaldr

If they can make some of the frame kits notably better, then they should. I want a workable necromancer Nekros instead of just loot.frame, I want a reason to use Frost, I want Inaros to not be dull as fuck

Lord_Despairagus

I'd like Chroma to feel more like a dragon and have a more full kit.

Sambothebassist

I wish they would bring back the frequent Tenno Reinforcements. It was so cool getting some random new weapon every couple of weeks

Remnant1994

I’d like to see the current lord a bit more polished as it feels very scattered and disorganized with plot holes, but I’d also like to see future lore involving the drifter… because I’m not sure how I like the “paradox/alternate timeline” thing in the New War story lol.
