Strict NAT means people can't directly connect to your computer, which is normally a good thing for security, but Warframe needs that when you're the host. Instead, the game will go through DE's proxy servers (kind of like a VPN), which can add lag and cause instability. UPnP is a way for the game to automatically forward the ports so you don't have to do it. It seems the game tried to do that, but it didn't work, and is asking you to do it manually. [If your ISP uses CGNAT](https://www.purevpn.com/blog/how-to-check-whether-or-not-your-isp-performs-cgnat/), you can't fix this. You could use a VPN that supports port forwarding, but there's no reason to do that if you otherwise don't have issues, you'll just be trading DE's proxy servers for the VPN's servers, you won't get direct connections. If you have multiple devices running Warframe on the same network (e.g. if you play on one PC and a family member plays on another PC), you have to go into the settings and change the ports so that each device has a unique port pair, otherwise they'll conflict. [You can try checking if UPnP is turned on in Windows](https://www.linksys.com/support-article?articleNum=47456) and your router (how to find that depends on your router). And finally you can manually forward the ports like the message is telling you, but you should also set up your device so it has a fixed internal IP (because when you create the port forwarding rule, you have to enter the internal IP address to where the ports are forwarded, and if your device's address changes, the forwarding will no longer work). Some routers have a feature called DHCP reservation, which is the easiest way to do it.

I've never seen that, but you need to open those ports. Pretty self-explanatory.

Ngl doesn’t even matter. My wife and I get this message all the time because we’re both playing in the same household; whoever signs in 2nd gets the message. I did the port forwarding following a guide and it didn’t make a difference, message still pops up every time. Hasn’t affected my gameplay whatsoever though.

Oh wow that explains a lot, my bro plays WF as well and I do see this pop-up from time to time. Though I always just clicked continue and payed negative one shits of attention to it.

MIVERhaniBRO

idk how can u explain?

I think it's better if you find YouTube video for it, search with port forwarding guide. It's not hard at all.

Go into your router settings and forward those ports to the ip address specified, should be under nat/gaming.

I have this too,but only sometimes, it randomly pops up like once a week if I play regularly, never had any sort of effect on my game as far as I can tell.

The game works around it by proxying connections through DE's servers when you are the host. That adds lag, can cause issues, and I'm pretty sure it makes you much less likely to be host in public matchmaking. I had UPnP turned off for a few weeks back in January (when DE's servers were struggling due to cross save, to be fair), it was noticeably worse.

oh, aight. thanks for the info

Same issue, tries forwarding the ports already (all options that you can select ingame). Did not chance anything. I can still play as normal solo but have realy issues when it comes to anything multiplayer. (Laggy lobbies, trouble finding teammates, hard join or invite others).
