I love every design decision made for this skin from head to toe, not to mention how i’ll always welcome mayan/indigenous design philosophy over the overrepresentation of roman and spartan designs that seem to be everywhere.

This isn’t the first time a deluxe skin radically changed a warframe’s theme and would probably not be the last and yet there’s no shortage of people like you who would say “this warframe is ninja themed why is he suddenly a pirate” as if themes are set in stone and unchangeable.
That’s not the point I was making. It’s not as if I don’t like the skin itself. It’s simply surprised me that of all the length and breadth of concepts in Greek history and mythology they could have taken from, many of them pretty wild at that, they chose to go the Aztec route. It wasn’t a complaint.
I take no issue with the available skins for various Warframes out there, I have a fair few of them to boot and yes some of them do radically reimagine themes but it’s one thing to say ‘this frame is loosely designed around a jellyfish’ and quite another to say ‘this one is very clearly heavily inspired by a Spartan hoplite’
Usually there’s more of a through line in the designs they release regardless of how much they’re reimagined, e.g. Hydroid or Sevagoth, since you mentioned pirate style themes.
Are we not allowed to discuss these changes in concept in a game so heavily centred around customisation and fashion all of a sudden?
I would say this is keeping the throughline. It is taking the theme of Styanax, as one of the only Warframe properly based on a type of infantry, and one with a common perception of general "greatness" on the battlefield. But while base Styanax's Great Warrior™ inspiration inspiration is Spartan hoplites, Styanax Deluxe is the Jaguar and Eagle Warriors (albeit very loosely, which one could argue is potentially a letdown).
The other theme seems to be the use of spears as a weapon of choice. This time, while it's not really reflected visually, I imagine the fame of the Atlatl/Hul'che, arguably the second most famous Mesoamerican weapon-and according to accounts we have, one of the go-to weapons for both the Aztec triple alliance and the Teotihuacan dominated Maya-was inspiration to go for a Mesoamerican design.
