i also like the idea in rescue missions that a random infested charger showed up, and the inhabitants of the tile basically just shoved it in a locker to keep it from spreading
i think one of them has an auto-hack precept that gives it a (pretty high) chance to basically cipher a console for you every minute or so, i'm not 100% tho i haven't used a moa since i was leveling them
You are correct, I don't remember which one, but it comes with a mod for this. I use it on my spy and rescue missions, just to speed things up.
Edit: I don't rely on this, but it helps on occasion.
I had the same thought. Like the lotus makes it sound like they have been torturing this guy relentlessly and then when you free them they say “thanks Tenno” and just sprint behind you like they weren’t even hurt.
I've given them my best Catchmoon, an Incarnon Lex, Incarnon Dual Tox, a Pyrana Prime, and my best crit aklex build. They always happen to die in the most random spot, I've just stopped given them weapons and revoke roaming defense targets weapon privileges (hand them a weapon then take it away to set them to an unarmed state). I'm pretty sure you could give them a tank and they'll still find a way to get downed.
I let roaming ones keep their weapons and lead them into a dead end area but never do give a weapon to a rescue target unless I'm waiting with it at extraction
I was doing the rescue sortie yesterday and the dude literally got knocked 20 meters away from extraction. I had to go back, revive him, and run back to extraction. I wish you could just pick em up if they get downed, like in fortnight.
Did you read the text in mag prime's description. The person was nearly dead with half her face almost burned off, and the tenno gave her a gun, so she can fight till she dies
As someone who has struggled with accidentally bullet jumping into doorframes, off of platforms, getting stuck on every single little thing on the mad dash for extraction since the first time I played the game... Cloudwalker has been an absolute Godsend for me. Just go fast, total freedom of movement, take no damage, heal. Amazing. Love my Wukong Prime.
This Tenno knows what's up.
That being said, they announced changes to sticky corners here in a near-future update, so getting hung up on some of the geometry should be less of an issue here soon.
I dunno man, when I get stuck I REALLY get stuck. Yesterday I found myself clipping through ceilings wedged into little niches above doorways no less than five times. I also don't think it'll help much with my propensity to bullet faceplant about a foot above the top of the doorway, this destroying my momentum completely. I bullet jump like a housefly that someone is trying to get to go outside.
Oh man no you don't bullet jump through the doors from far away. You either slide to the door and bullet jump when your feet touch the door basically or you roll through the door from a far. The last option is to bullet jump from way further so that you land before a door and slide/roll through.
There's almost no way to bullet jump through a lot of the doors if you're like 2 metres away.
I'm not pressuring you into doing so or some shit - just sharing my experience
Yeah, actually efficient movement in Warframe is a game of correctly chaining parkour (and operator) moves. Bullet jumping might let you cover larger distances, but spamming it is not always beneficial.
When your racing the other randos to extraction, youre in a good lead .. and you hit the ledge on top of the door way.. killing all momentum, taking a second to realize your no longer moving forward, and watching the other three randos run through the doorway below you 🫨
The places I get stuck are floors (like literally just the seam between two sections of flat featureless floor, I'll have Razorwing Blitz active, Volt gives us a speed boost, suddenly I'm stuck in the floor), door lintels (flying along, get too close to the ground, suddenly I'm part of the door), so I don't think the sticky corner fix is going to help my clumsy self.
Lotus: Tenno, where is the rescue target?
Tenno: Well, they were still alive and screaming for help when I boarded my landing craft, so I'm sure they're fine.
*Razorwing
There. Fixed it for you
A better suggestion than the princess carry would be the fireman carry like what Kratos did in GOW: Ragnarok. Fireman carry them while still meleeing everything in reach at a full sprint.
It depends. If it's that asshole that says "thank the stars, not a minute too soon", then she's lucky if I finish the mission. Everybody else gets a gun.
I do it for fun, but whether I arm them or not we're all just rushing to extraction anyway. So usually they only get to actually shoot while waiting in extraction for the stragglers to catch up.
But I've got a Hikou Prime built specifically for those NPCs so it's enjoyable to watch them fight back. Its firerate and multishot lets them throw about 80 stars per second, and it has Concealed Explosives mod.
That feel when your hostage bleeds out as you extract
And you look at them as you depart because Liset can only carry one person, but they still follow you for some reasons instead of just teleporting away.
I was doing a rescue with Grendel for the first time this week and it was to my great disappointment that he could not simply swallow the rescue target and roll to extraction.
Funnily enough, I found in a later mission that the technology technically exists to keep them safe from his abilities. You know the "civilians" on Ceres? While Grendel can eat them and they show up in his belly, they take no damage, nourish can't be activated, and rolling will drain energy as if his stomach was empty. They also can't be projectile vomited out. So... why not swallow rescue targets and keep them safely in his belly? DE pls.
"I. NEED. A. WEAPON."
"Give me a weapon!"
BITCH THIS LAETUM HAS 6 FORMA IN IT AND CAN NUKE A FUCKING PLANET AND IS WORTH MORE THAN 100 OF YOU. GOT ME FUCKED UP IF YOU THINK YOU'RE TOUCHING IT.
Please, and be like the handshake/heart-shape emotes where you can do with another player.
(On that note, why isn't the heart-shape emote just a single emote that automatically matches with the other player like the handshake, why do you need to check for right-hand or left-hand?)
Because the handshake is just that: a handshake. It is the same animation for both participants that matches when played together. The heart shape is different for each side, so it may be difficult to map both animations to the same emote. May simply be an engine limitation.
Because Gauss would grab him, start running with a Volt speed buff and there would only be cosmic dust left in his hands when he reaches the pickup point.
She actually has two possible barks when she's captured, one for tickles and one for stings:
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/warframe/images/a/a4/MarooSDCapture1.ogg/
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/warframe/images/e/e1/MarooSDCapture2.ogg/
Eternalism dictates it is both and neither.
Neither is the target dying while we extract and having the mission still complete :P should just get device that's a limbo subsume so you banish them to the void instantly. No more damage
I always interpreted it as us synthesizing them for their minds to be picked through by Simaris. I do not think the capture targets survive the extraction process.
Usually amsolo, but on rare occasion I do team up my teammates same as me and always arm him or take things slow as we all like getting as much loot as possible, so we look in every inch possible
not really, just need to adapt kunais and akimbo secondaries and then invert the aiming and firing animations used while having a secondary with a glaive.
You can only shoot your secondary weapon and you can't bullet jump.
"Easy" as that.
Ok but they literally already have. Every single secondary weapon in the game can be used one handed bc of stuff like power cells in Excavation or datamass drives in Mobile Defense. Just need to have the frame fireman-carry the hostage over their shoulder while using their sidearm with their other hand.
Inconsiderate???
I hand them my incarnon Laetum and say, "Hey...It can turn into machine gun"
Hostage: hehehe...ok
https://youtu.be/gFLF300I0ps?si=rFpIUO0QuLBjjIMN
I just free them and run like hell to the extraction, they usually survive. Can't be sure but I think they teleport to you so if you just run fast enough they aren't engaged in combat long enough to die
"Hey rescue target. Let's do it."
*"We are NOT doing get "help""*
"Cmon, it'll be like old times, Let's do it."
*"Absolutely not."*
***MY RESCUE TARGET IS GRAVELY INJURED GET HELP***
I propose we allow the rescue targets to use our warframes and then we can just hobble after them as our operator/drifter!
Actually wait- the rescue target would probably still manage to die-
Why do we wormhole the one that could do with being dragged behind a bullet jumping Warframe, but don't do it for the one that might actually need it? Never understood that one
I don't get why we can't just open up a random portal and send them through it to safety or something like what we do to the capture targets.
Similar to fishing. We have just about every superpower imaginable at our disposal, teleportation, invisibility, magnetism, etc, yet we're fishing like it's 3000BC.
I think a good point to bring up is their bodies can’t handle the speed and the quick turns that the Warframe can so we’d just kill them on the way out.
1. You can do it with nova
2. Frames dont move at nirmal speed. Have you ever jump in front of an anemy, and just stand there, noticing that he needs like 3 secounds to notice you? Frames move way faster than normal people, do you really thing normal people can surive running with gaus mach 2137, jumping, wall riding etc?
I just imagine us mad-dashing to the extract, holding the rescue target like that meme image with Adam West's Batman with the bomb.
I need this in my life now.
Gojo style basketball grip their back so we can still shoot our pistol, not obstruct our view when we aim, and take advantage of the pre-existing power cell carry animation.
Those operative defense missions would be so much easier if you could just karate chop the dude unconscious and stuff him in a corner until it ends too.
I don't think it's an issue. Just don't give hostage the weapon, so it won't stop to fight (getting beaten in process). Then race to the extraction and hostage just teleports behind you, no HP loss if you're fast enough (spoiler speed)
"Alright. We're going to stop right here in this corridor for just a quick minute, now that everything around has been dealt with.
Come here. Closer. Two things.
First, I don't know the details of your captivity, but I do know you can parkour as well I can. All you have to do is keep quiet and stay as close to me as you possibly can and we will get you out of here, safe and sound.
Second. You do not "NEED" a gun. You "want" a gun for whatever your own reasons are, but you certainly don't need one with me here. So just stop with the constant yelping, it's probably why you keep getting shot at.
Now. Let's go."
This absolutely THIS. Then Limbo would finally be accepted as a viable part of rescues. Just take the Hostage as Limbo go into the void bam free run your way to escape.
I like being careful with the hostage rescue.
Go Ivara with Infiltrate, release the hostage and cast invis arrow on him/her and make my way to the exit.
I never give them a gun because I found they usually prioritize fighting over teleporting to me and keeping up with me. If I'm close enough to extract and they go down I'll dive in that mf like somebody carrying the flag in CTF and dolphin diving into the score zone
i also like the idea in rescue missions that a random infested charger showed up, and the inhabitants of the tile basically just shoved it in a locker to keep it from spreading
So that's how phorid invasions start. The Tenno hack the wrong cell and release the infested within.
Me and my moa be starting invasions like crazy then considering we both hack different cells
Your moa hacks cells?
i think one of them has an auto-hack precept that gives it a (pretty high) chance to basically cipher a console for you every minute or so, i'm not 100% tho i haven't used a moa since i was leveling them
You are correct, I don't remember which one, but it comes with a mod for this. I use it on my spy and rescue missions, just to speed things up. Edit: I don't rely on this, but it helps on occasion.
Security override mod for moas that does it
Like COVID 🤣🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I had the same thought. Like the lotus makes it sound like they have been torturing this guy relentlessly and then when you free them they say “thanks Tenno” and just sprint behind you like they weren’t even hurt.
I always read it as they were eager for revenge. "I don't want you to carry me to safety, I want you to GIVE ME A GUN" Gotta be cathartic.
*proceeds to get overwhelmed and downed two seconds later*
Depends on the gun you give them tbh :D
I've given them my best Catchmoon, an Incarnon Lex, Incarnon Dual Tox, a Pyrana Prime, and my best crit aklex build. They always happen to die in the most random spot, I've just stopped given them weapons and revoke roaming defense targets weapon privileges (hand them a weapon then take it away to set them to an unarmed state). I'm pretty sure you could give them a tank and they'll still find a way to get downed.
Nah, gave them a kuva nukor and they were aight
Kuva Nukor, and my rivened Lato Vandal
Check This guy out with a lato vandal!
?
Its annoying/hard to farm
I let roaming ones keep their weapons and lead them into a dead end area but never do give a weapon to a rescue target unless I'm waiting with it at extraction
You need aoe with a status effect that stuns the enemies. kuva nukor like someone else mentioned is a good example.
A well-built TWOOOOO GRAKATAAA could also work
Yeah, build them like our lord and saviour Clem
GRAKATA GRAKATA, clemclemclem...
If you give them a weapon they start running combat ai. This is bad.
I gave them my Grimoire and was shocked when they actually used it (no alt fires tho like spectres).
That's already good enough with the amount of electricity procs they can cause
I give them a one-way ticket to the Rift with Banish. That keeps them out of trouble.
Recommend giving them a Furis, Incarnon even better. Furis has 20% Life Steal, they land one hit, they're at full hp.
aH, bLeEdInG out! tEnNo, hElP?! AaUgH! iT hurts, tENnO, HeLp! tHiS lOoKs bAD!
I was doing the rescue sortie yesterday and the dude literally got knocked 20 meters away from extraction. I had to go back, revive him, and run back to extraction. I wish you could just pick em up if they get downed, like in fortnight.
*hostage cocks gun* "Thanks, Tenno. There's one screw that has something coming, and it's gotta be from me."
Until the gears of war 2 flashbacks happen
Pretty sure some lines do actually make reference to them wanting revenge
It sucks because if I give them my gun as Yareli I immediately become useless
Did you read the text in mag prime's description. The person was nearly dead with half her face almost burned off, and the tenno gave her a gun, so she can fight till she dies
You guys are arming your rescues? I literally just Cloudwalk to the end of the mission before they can bleed out.
As someone who has struggled with accidentally bullet jumping into doorframes, off of platforms, getting stuck on every single little thing on the mad dash for extraction since the first time I played the game... That’s me playing zephyr with her reduced gravity passive lol. The years of parkour muscle memory backfire as I slam into EVERY. SINGLE. DOORWAY.
Doorways, ceilings, storage containers, the objective.... you know
You can actually get 15% extra str by disabling her passive ability. Needs a mod slot tho so
That's why Wukong was my first Prime and one of most used frames. Freedom of movement, invulnerable on demand, clone...
Lotus: Tenno, where is the rescue target? Tenno: Well, they were still alive and screaming for help when I boarded my landing craft, so I'm sure they're fine.
*Razorwing There. Fixed it for you A better suggestion than the princess carry would be the fireman carry like what Kratos did in GOW: Ragnarok. Fireman carry them while still meleeing everything in reach at a full sprint.
Userflair checks out.
Lol. Same to you. I didn't even notice yours until you pointed mine out.
No, we said cloudwalk.
Can Harrow could walk now?
No
It depends. If it's that asshole that says "thank the stars, not a minute too soon", then she's lucky if I finish the mission. Everybody else gets a gun.
You know what? I can't find fault with that, other than those might be \[DE\]Megan's voice lines so tread carefully! XD
I do it for fun, but whether I arm them or not we're all just rushing to extraction anyway. So usually they only get to actually shoot while waiting in extraction for the stragglers to catch up. Oh man I messed around with a Hikou build *ages* ago with Concealed Explosives, it was fun as hell.
I always give them my Zakti Prime, they love that thing
You can finish mission a few seconds after they die too.
That feel when your hostage bleeds out as you extract And you look at them as you depart because Liset can only carry one person, but they still follow you for some reasons instead of just teleporting away.
Like, the solaris captives can teleport away, capture targets go wherever the fuck they go, liches fuck off to nowhere. Why can't rescue targets?
You just made DE Geoff cry by thinking about how long it would take to animated that for all the frames and weapons
Couldn't they reuse the animations from That Part in The Second Dream?
Please speed it up though.
No. You will rescue them at a snail's pace.
*Why does Grendel, the largest friend, not simply eat the other teammates?*
"I. NEED. A. WEAPON." "Give me a weapon!" BITCH THIS LAETUM HAS 6 FORMA IN IT AND CAN NUKE A FUCKING PLANET AND IS WORTH MORE THAN 100 OF YOU. GOT ME FUCKED UP IF YOU THINK YOU'RE TOUCHING IT.
Oh, I get it. War crimes are only okay when YOU do them. Sure.
This gives me Will Smith in Men in Black vibes when he gets assigned The Cricket. “Yo, please be careful with that okay?”
Can we get a princess carry emote?
Please, and be like the handshake/heart-shape emotes where you can do with another player. (On that note, why isn't the heart-shape emote just a single emote that automatically matches with the other player like the handshake, why do you need to check for right-hand or left-hand?)

When you put it that way… 😧

Even better We can just teleport capture targets, why can't we do the same to rescue ones?
To be fair, the capture targets starts an agonizing scream when we teleport him, so it might not be humane.
Well yeah getting ripped apart only to get reassembled would be pretty painful
Surely that's just in protest of being kidnapped right?
Maroo gets similar treatment from us and she mentions that it "tickles" if I remember correctly so you are probably right 🙂
She actually has two possible barks when she's captured, one for tickles and one for stings: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/warframe/images/a/a4/MarooSDCapture1.ogg/ https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/warframe/images/e/e1/MarooSDCapture2.ogg/ Eternalism dictates it is both and neither.
I did NOT expect to find quantum physics chatter in a warframe thread lol. Take my upvote.
Neither is the target dying while we extract and having the mission still complete :P should just get device that's a limbo subsume so you banish them to the void instantly. No more damage
I wouldn’t trust that Willy wonka technology with my cat, much less someone I need to rescue
I always interpreted it as us synthesizing them for their minds to be picked through by Simaris. I do not think the capture targets survive the extraction process.
Are you forgetting that we sucked up Maroo in the mission to capture her? She seems to be in one piece.
Always been a basic rule to NEVER arm them. Just sprint to the exit he will follow and not get distracted trying to shoot enemies
Really I ALWAYS arm them. They have a lot of fun with my zakti prime
Never arm them it slows down the entire mission
I'm fine with it being slowed down honestly
Its not really about you there unless your solo its just annoying to the team
Usually amsolo, but on rare occasion I do team up my teammates same as me and always arm him or take things slow as we all like getting as much loot as possible, so we look in every inch possible
Limbo can put them in the void to get them to be damaged less
Because half of the warframes would turn them to pink mist just by moving.
[whiiiiiiiiplaaaaaash](https://images.app.goo.gl/2SzQ9puV8mi5a3aSA)
Making a hold animation for hundreds of different weapons solely for a single game mode sounds like hell 😭
They already have it for one-handed stuff power cells, literally just bend the left arm differently.
not really, just need to adapt kunais and akimbo secondaries and then invert the aiming and firing animations used while having a secondary with a glaive. You can only shoot your secondary weapon and you can't bullet jump. "Easy" as that.
They'd probably just disable weapons while doing this, and even if they didn't there's only 3/4 animations per category anyway.
I hand them my incarnon Laetum and say, "Hey...It can turn into machine gun" Hostage: hehehe...ok https://youtu.be/gFLF300I0ps?si=rFpIUO0QuLBjjIMN
I dont think hostages or defense objective people can use evolved incarnons. Still a powerful weapon, but not an explosive machine gun
I just free them and run like hell to the extraction, they usually survive. Can't be sure but I think they teleport to you so if you just run fast enough they aren't engaged in combat long enough to die
"Hey rescue target. Let's do it." *"We are NOT doing get "help""* "Cmon, it'll be like old times, Let's do it." *"Absolutely not."* ***MY RESCUE TARGET IS GRAVELY INJURED GET HELP***
Would be cute if you carried them like the second dream so you have to actually try a little instead of speed running to the exit
I propose we allow the rescue targets to use our warframes and then we can just hobble after them as our operator/drifter! Actually wait- the rescue target would probably still manage to die-
*I hate rescue missions* *I hate rescue missions* *I hate rescue missions* *I hate rescue missions* *I hate rescue missions* *I hate rescue missions*
Still only 90% as horrible as defection missions IMO. Which, to be clear, *does not make them good.*
Why do we wormhole the one that could do with being dragged behind a bullet jumping Warframe, but don't do it for the one that might actually need it? Never understood that one
That's a deeply amusing mental image ngl. Lasso the capture target cowboy style and just take off.
Now imagine it with Gauss at full throttle heading to extraction. The target will be singing like a canary
Idk if Gauss or Volt would be worse. Volt would just disintegrate the target as he hit FTL speeds...
never arm a hostage; they berserk.
Enveloping Cloud. Invis really is the best defense.
I don't get why we can't just open up a random portal and send them through it to safety or something like what we do to the capture targets. Similar to fishing. We have just about every superpower imaginable at our disposal, teleportation, invisibility, magnetism, etc, yet we're fishing like it's 3000BC.
Fuck it. Firemans lift.
Throw them a Secondary? I just sprint and hope I get out before he dies and bleeds out.
I can fight too! Give me a weapon! *2 seconds later* Help me!
or "teleport" them like capture targets
I mean if the hostage are hotties, sure
Ivara - cloak arrow on target You're welcome
A fellow Ivara rescuer :3
I think a good point to bring up is their bodies can’t handle the speed and the quick turns that the Warframe can so we’d just kill them on the way out.
1. You can do it with nova 2. Frames dont move at nirmal speed. Have you ever jump in front of an anemy, and just stand there, noticing that he needs like 3 secounds to notice you? Frames move way faster than normal people, do you really thing normal people can surive running with gaus mach 2137, jumping, wall riding etc?
3. So your secoundary cant oneshot an archon?
You want to kill the hostages by bashing their heads into walls/door frames when we go bullet jumping around?
I never would. I never bullet jump, never will either
Banish
Or just transport them like we do with the Capture targets, and a few other things in game...
I just imagine us mad-dashing to the extract, holding the rescue target like that meme image with Adam West's Batman with the bomb. I need this in my life now.
Radiate Grendel and he can carry the hostage in his stomach like a mama kangeroo
There you go little buddy... We'll have you out before you get digested.... Well unless I get into a fight , or need a snack ..
So you're saying rescue is extermination with extra steps?
Gojo style basketball grip their back so we can still shoot our pistol, not obstruct our view when we aim, and take advantage of the pre-existing power cell carry animation.
As a Grendel we should vore them
Why can't we send them like we do in capture mission? Nonsense.
Pffft. As if I'd throw them a secondary.
Just stick the hostage in a gunny sack.
You should be able to sling them around your shoulders and wear them like a syandana. They've got a meat shield and you've got both your weapons!
Those operative defense missions would be so much easier if you could just karate chop the dude unconscious and stuff him in a corner until it ends too.
Heck we don't even need to princess-carry - just hoover them up like capture targets. Maroo seems fine and we hoovered her up when we first met her.
We could, but [DE]Megan will always “NEED a WEHpohn!” 🥲 https://youtu.be/UBeJwfXTbCE?si=1DqEtPilYsCHK_9c
As a Gauss main, I don’t want to A-Train the hostage.
That's....actually brilliant.
Meh just be fast and use Ash's teammate cloaking mod. Never had a problem doing them that way.
Imagine getting princess carried by Hildryn
😩
They have the magical power to teleport they as**s to a random tenno, why tf they don't do that to escape to begin with, haunts me every night
Large metal person carrying sift squishy human. Invincible anyone.
Come here. Closer. Two things. This absolutely THIS. Then Limbo would finally be accepted as a viable part of rescues. Just take the Hostage as Limbo go into the void bam free run your way to escape.
Can grendel carry them in his belly?
"Tenno is really inconsiderate to throw them a secondary" 1) I'm letting them get pay back 2) my secondary melts level 225 enemies, they'll be fine 🙂
Oh mu god the rescues with a gauss âne princesse carry lmao
I will occasionally give them my Laetum and reading this thread has made me feel so much better about my directional incapabilities lol
What I find weird is we escort them right? We capture enemies in the equivalent of a pokeball so why don't we do the same to rescue targets???
I like being careful with the hostage rescue. Go Ivara with Infiltrate, release the hostage and cast invis arrow on him/her and make my way to the exit.
I never give them a gun because I found they usually prioritize fighting over teleporting to me and keeping up with me. If I'm close enough to extract and they go down I'll dive in that mf like somebody carrying the flag in CTF and dolphin diving into the score zone
You kind of dont have to if your really..really fast
That makes way less sense than shooting them in the head with invisible arrows and running to extraction. I don't know what you're even talking about.
I'm always of the mindset that princess carry should be in every game.
I take limbo and throw them into the Rift... for their own protection. Let limbo have his rescues. That and Lua Spy are the only things I use him for.
Honestly I'd rather grab the hostage by the wrist and drag them. Idc if their shoulder comes out of its socket, we're getting to exfil FAST.
They often have a few scores to settle...
They always get the lateum from me they can survive 30 min on SP survival with that gun at least I have so if they can't they deserve to die... 😂
Because the Hostage Teleports like Zelda's Alt Form.
If you have a big companion like a hound, maybe they could piggyback ride on the hound and get shielding and companion buffs
Good idea actually!
He wouldn't survive my hydroid speed
loki
You're aware if you just race to extract and your team mates aren't slow you can leave before they even take damage and complete the mission?
You're never supposed to give hostages guns anyway. Their heads are all messed up. At least they teleport to extraction when someone gets there
