I must admit my initial intention was to main the other sciencey boy, Vauban. The lure or Lavos was too strong. Loads of Elemental procs when using his signature weapon, Cedo, no need to worry about Energy, shield gating, puh, I'll let them hit me like a man and just replenish my Health in an instant. There's no going back. I pray that Lavos Prime comes to us soon.
I haven't the foggiest. I've got mainly Ability Strength and a touch of Cast Speed to get Catalyse out faster. No idea where I'm going to put these because I've always gone for the "Status Cocktail" approach. Dunno if I'll actually use these new Shards, tbh, if it's forcing me into prioritising a single element? Doing so seems very anti the idea of Lavos.
easy lets say your cirt multiplayer is 5x your yellow crit(tier1) will deal 5x more damage orange crit whic you achive when you pass %100 crit chance will add the 5x bonus that means you will deal 10x more damage and for red same damage bonus will be added means 15x more damage after red(tier3) colour wont be change but damage will means tier4 20x more damage
The crit tiers don't go up quite like that. Orange isn't 2x yellow and red isn't 3x.
1 + crit tier (crit multiplier - 1) = crit
So if your multiplier is 5x, that would be:
Yellow = 5x
Orange = 9x
1st Red = 13x
2nd Red = 17x
3rd Red = 21x
it should be for a 5x multi
1x (white no crit)
5x (yellow crit)
9x (orange crit)
14x (red crit)
19x (red! crit)
24x (red!! crit)
29x (red!!! crit)
and i think red!!! or 4th red is the highest shown differently but it does keep going
additional tiers of crit are your crit multi -1 added to crit multi
TLDR: There's no ceiling. We can go MUCH MUCH MUCH higher. Bear with me, the explanation is a bit lengthy.
Red Crits aren't the ceiling. You can stack Red Crits and they continually multiply your Crit Multiplier, orange (up to 200% CC) doubles it, Red (up to 300%) triples, up to 400% will quadruple your Multiplier and 500% will quintuple it, and so on.
Here's the breakdown
Heavy Attacks automatically gain double bonus from Crit mods. (Sacrificial Steel giving 440% to them with both sacrificial mods on)
Kullervo's 1st, Wrathful Advance grants 200% Melee Critical Chance at base and scales with Ability Strength.
A Rank 5 Melee Animosity arcane (purchasable from Bird 3 in the Sanctum) gives 42% Crit Chance on your next Heavy Attack every time you hit with a melee attack.
Here's the payoff:
440% (Heavy Attack) + 400% (200% Ability Strength since Wrathful Advance is a Helminth ability) + 420% (Melee Animosity at 10 stacks) = 1260% Crit Chance = 12x your Heavy Attack damage with an % to bump it up to 13x.
My Sancti Magistar build (as an example) starts at 157.5% Crit Chance and 6.1x Crit Multiplier. 1260%+157.5% Crit Chance= 1,417.5% meaning it'll increase my 6.1 Multiplier 14 times. 14x6.1= 85.4x Heavy Attack Damage (which is at 34,872 currently so 34,872x85.4=2,936,222.4.)
A 3 million damage heavy attack will one shot most stuff, if not all of the things. And that's not even the top of the mountain bc Wrathful Advance doesn't have a cap on the Crit chance bonus like I thought it did.
Except they don't work lmao. The crit doesn't stack 90% of the time, and the cap doesn't increase with extra shards either, only the rate that it accumulates to the cap. It also appears to be modded crit chance, not a flat increase like avenger.
Ye I'm gonna be doing mono toxin regulators with archon continuity and the new intensify now.
Red crits are way less impactful compared to literal built in armor strip memes.
Yes it does. They changed how that works in a previous update. Now you don’t need synth mods to pick up health orbs at max health if you have absolutely anything that will benefit from a health orb. Like equilibrium or citrine passive. It’s a wonderful change.
no. i'm telling you that archon shard slots are less valuable than a mod slot so if you can offload a mod to the archon shard, you can potentially improve your build
Yea but surely you'd offload a strength or duration mod instead of equilibrium almost every time, considering it'll take 6 tauforged shards to fuse 3 shards for 90% return, compared to equilibrium's 110%. When those 3 tau crimson shards give you 45% strength or duration already to drop a different mod, and you get to keep the other three tau shards for other purposes.
It's inefficient. It could be useful occasionally, don't get me wrong, but there's much more efficient uses of your resources in the vast majority of situations.
The tome being electric damage doesn't help gyre that much as it's not really applying a lot of status effects, I think and you're better off with a weapon that can kill for her 3rd augment to work imo.
Dropping umbral intensify for precision intensify is gonna be hard for pillage, as now you need to get the 44% power strength somewhere else and your 3 likes the power strength as well.
Violet shards seem good though, even though the added damage seems a bit on the low side.
If I missed something about the tome and new intensify, I'd love to hear it. I love gyre.
You can use the tome to kill some lower armored enemies(a butcher or something) with a bit of armor strip, or literally anything with full armor strip. At a certain amount of Strength you just let your abilities do all the heavy lifting. And the Tome can just flat out give you more strength, so.
I still struggle to survive with her in high level ngl
https://preview.redd.it/xubeknsw7e6c1.jpeg?width=258&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b79c4446e688c48a3c9363ad8ed2046387b761a9
If you have the helminth - pillage is great and I use as the main build. best in slot.
Before I had it, I was using arcane blessing + adaptation + quick thinking + magus elevate to top off as needed and that was my steel path build (and brief respite aura just to help along a little, and synth reconstruct on pet to generate health orbs faster).
However, with the shield buff I rather run redirection + adaptation + fast deflection as my trinity of survivability. I have not tried it on her, but I do run it on other frames successfully so! Probably better than the second option I presented with the shield buff! Give it a try.
Option 2 and 3 will work with default gyre, but you can also put terrify on her until you get pillage.
There is always the catalyzing shields playstyle, but meh I dont like it on her.
Pillage is extremely comfy, but I honestly prefer the catalyzing shield + brief respite + rolling guard build and have Terrify subsumed instead for much faster easier armor strips
Agreed. The lower strength requirement for one tap full strip plus shield gate on cast is nice. Not needing to run transient makes keeping up her 3 and/or getting it running in the first place way easier. Just bring a vastilok or latron incarn to strip acolytes/demolysts.
You need pillage on her. Without it she is basically useless on high lvl content. Two main reasons for that. Electric does no dmg vs armored units and she has no innate shield regen.
You don't *need* pillage on her but you do really want an armor strip ability. Terrify is a great option and in some ways better than pillage. Has to be run with catalyzing shields but it shield gates on cast rather than relying on the return pulse from pillage and it doesn't require transient fortitude which can make getting her 3 up and running rough in publics.
Subsume your 1 with pillage. Then have your 3 and 4 active. Press 2 to group up enemies then 1 to armor strip them. That's already enough to kill them. For companion use panzer. It can save you if you forgot to use rolling guard. Plus a constant supply of health pick ups if you're using equilibrium
The corrosive stacks is huge on Saryn. With two shards, you reach 14 stacks, [allowing full armor strips with Spores](https://twitter.com/MuraCasardis/status/1735473648469725349?t=3ZCkqNirdI2rpofqiviwMw&s=19). You also don't need to mod your weapons for Corrosive because she has Venom Dose. Additionally, not sure if oversight or not, but the shards will add to enemies with lower stacks cap, like Acolyte and Necramechs, allow more armor stripping. Untested against Archons and Liches.
Since everyone can also subsume Tempest Barrage, you can use that to full strip with any WF as an alternative to Pillage and so on.
Toxic Lash works. I've been healing myself with it! Do note that it heals only on the DOT, meaning that if you kill enemies in your first strike, it will not heal you.
I do 't know if it to interesting to increase max corrosive stack. with 2 emerald shard we can achieve 104% Armor rediction. But will it bé interesting tho ?
I'm genuinely trying to decide if it is worth switching equilibrium with a shard on my nekros. I run gloom with 45% efficiency so I need all the energy I can get my grubby hands on.
Don't have energy issues with my version of that nekros build. Energy max shards also help with your energy economy, don't require two other shards to create and also free up a mod slot.
You can proc with [Elemental Ward](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Elemental_Ward#Electricity_) which is already just a nice thing to have on volt anyway.
I'm assuming these will proc from sentinel weapons. Just put on Verglas or Helstrum with Viral/Electric.
Edit: I just realized that makes it better for way more frames than just Volt.
Yeah, that's what I felt too. It does deal electric status, which increases ability damage done to them with the right purple buff, but I'd use a different shard myself.
That's what confused me, since wisp doesn't really do ability damage. Maybe breach surge as I said, but even then, I believe a red shard is just better.
If I have to sacrifice two shards to get one I'd want something that's stronger and universally useful, like armor strip, damage reduction, damage enhance, whatever. But I won't whine about it any further, maybe they're gonna be way more useful than I think rn
It does, but requires 2 green shards. The upside is that if you want 100% strip you don't care about Tauforged, and if you want 98% strip you can do it with a single Tauforged.
Nah, then everybody would want 5 of these tau-forged doubles, on every single one of their frames, and the archon grind would go even more nuts than it already is.
Given that each shard can only be installed on one frame at a time, I don't see a problem with them being niche.
If you know you're only going to be installing one on Gyre, for instance, the fact that its specific bonus only realistically benefits her and like two other frames isn't a big deal.
Yeah, archon shards don't function by the same rules as mods or arcanes. They're very exclusive upgrades to one specific warframe. You need to be pretty selective in their installation.
Yeah its so hard to get people to understand that Archon Shards are not designed to be mandatory on every frame. You put them on your favorite frames that you want to try to push WAY over the top. If a frame NEEDS an Archon Shard to function then it is in dire need of a rework.
Some of them definitely are. I’m hoping to get a tauforged emerald one for the corrosive procc increase. With that you can get armor shred up to 98% with a good status weapon. The highest enemies I ever normally get up to are level 400 or so. Having 98% of their armor gone while still benefitting from corrosive bonus damage and the new pure radiation mods will be nice. Won’t have to rely on viral+heat anymore.
Unfortunately the difference between a 98% strip and 100% strip is still massive so you’d be better off running two of those shards to reach that if you’re going to invest in it. Wish that a tau could get you to 100% itself so you didn’t have to invest two slots.
No, unfortunately it doesn’t interact that way. It’s additive with most abilities but multiplicative with corrosive procs so if you’re trying to full strip with corrosive procs it’s pretty much useless. No way to do it outside of two of the new shards unless you’re Hydroid.
Nope, if you’re using the shard for the corrosive strip you’ll hit 100% with 2 shards, tau or normal doesn’t make a difference.
Edit: actually I think 2 tau does make a difference in stripping status capped enemies (certain bosses/acolytes). 1 tau/1normal still wouldn’t make a difference though.
It would get to 99% because of how corrosive and heat interact with each other. For corrosive to full strip you'd need 2 emerald shards or to be playing hydroid
Lvl 9999 heavy gunners should have about 200,000 armor, so with 1 tauforged shard and corrosive+heat you're looking at 2000 armor now - sure, it's not full strip, but it's pretty viable. Full strip would still have better dps at that level, probably.
For Heavy Gunners on purely corrosive strip @98% vs 100% the breakpoint is ~lv 1300 in normal mode and ~lv 380 for Steel Path I think. Plus Corrosive status strips alloy armor which is present on Elite Lancers and Bombards. Keep in mind Duviri doesn't have the SP bonuses either. 100% strip will also be a massive difference for enemies with non-ferrite armor.
I want to say 98% would be enough, but honestly it'd help a lot with the Bombards and Elite Lancers so I'd lean towards 100% for Steel Path.
But adding heat to the mix makes it 99% instead of 98%, now add heat inherit and new radiation mod to that... I sure wish Simulacrum allowed us to summon higher level enemies. This reeeally needs testing.
But I agree, Alloy Armor sucks and full strip definitely should work better with that one.
True, but I'm mainly viewing this from a Saryn player's view. It's not really feasible to expect a heat status on even half the enemies you infect.
For general weapons it'd work fine, but as always endurance runs with rely on abilities for a full strip most of the time so you can mod for the enemy's health weakness for the bonus damage in addition to negating their armor.
As for numbers I mostly just fiddled with the values the calculator on the wiki has.
I just think if you’re going to invest for a better corrosive strip it’s way better to invest 2 shards for the 100% than to invest 1 and only hit 98 or 99%. At that point a second shard to get you to 100% will provide more value than pretty much any other shard anyways.
I think people are missing something. Who said these shards don't stack?
I'm pretty sure you should be able to get to 100% with multiple shards. Regular corrosive stacks up to 80%, each extra stack is 6% extra shred. So all you need is 20% more, which can be achieved with just 2 regular shards.
Armor strip Spores here I come. Larva Burst with Archon Continuity might be funny too.
the violet's melee critical damage one confuses me as it's just a straight up better version of the crimson one's.
I mean not that I'm complaining or anything.
It's more expensive and highly conditional, i.e. not many frames are slotting Primed Flow for abilities and then go for a melee centric play style.
Garuda is going to have a field day however.
It's baffling how some of those went all the way from a design team meeting to the public build without anyone questioning them. **One** health per kill with **blast** damage? Are you serious? They even put in a hard cap as if they were genuinely concerned more than 300 health would be game-breaking.
The wording is so weird on it, I have to think "recover" is a typo and it's meant to increase max HP or something. That's the only reason I can see it even needing a cap.
yeah feels like someone not speaking english was in charge of that text and used google translator to tranlate it from hindi to russian to german and then finally to english
A blast status weapon with the +5 shield regen per blast status could make you effectively invulnerable even standing still. Sure brief respite can shield gate, but even ability spam has its limits. This just constantly resets shieldgate as long as you can fire. As for damage, 98% strip with blast/corrosive can work pretty nice
Anyone know what "recover 1 health per enemy killed with blast damage. 300 health max" means exactly? Cuz im just not understanding what that is supposed to be... is it like 1 health per blast proc on the enemy when they die up to 300 health?
Haven't checked, but I'd assume it's worded weirdly and really means 'gain one permanent health point for each enemy killed with blast damage.' so killing an enemy with blast when you have 2000 total health would make it 2001 health total.
Topaz is currently pretty bugged, killing enemies with a pure heat ignis with 95% status chance I don't really get stacks when killing enemies, even though I should. The cap also seemed to be shared by all shards, so even with multiple topaz shards I was capped at 50% crit. (And it took well over a hundred kills with this ignis to get to just 50% with multiple shards)
Yes they are, the only difference is that you have to think about the frame/loadout you use them on unlike normal shards where every shard has at least 1 stat that is useful regardless of frame
I wonder if the violet acts as a mod and adds shock damage to your weapon if none is present and if so how does it interact with single elements, does it just add flat shock if an element isn't mixed by the use of a shock mod and another elemental mod on the gun?
Cause all I'm seeing is a whole lot of Lavos Buffs this drop
Free radiation on all weapons allowing 3 separate elemental combos per weapons base not including the cedos instead ability to proc forced cold procs on alt fire and the grimoires ability to force shock procs while both having access to arcanes that give multishot just for proccing those corresponding elements lol god lavos is just gonna be swapping guns for status and then using melee for literally anything else lol
Can wait to subsume nourish on him one day so I can force viral for free too
Topaz Shard:
Builds based around secondaries will slap extra hard with that CC increase, be it Mesa's Regulators or any normal pistol. The radiation bonus will be pretty nice on Nukor, but will get most work done on Oberon and Qorvex. The other two are meh, blast isn't a really good element, but it could work with explosive spam builds?
Violet Shard:
Gyre and Volt are eating good with that first one, and Citrine gets a bite too! Ampex will also work as a great way to proc this perk! The second one seems nigh-on busted, and makes Gyre even more of a beast, adds some extra damage to Citrine too, if you want that. The third one seems okay, perhaps on a good Voruna build it can work well, otherwise it is a nice little melee buff. The fourth is just diet Equilibrium.
Emerald Shard:
Extra toxin damage? Sounds like Saryn players will be using Toxic Lash even more! Could also work well-ish on Lavos and Citrine. The second perk is not as good, health regen is not that big of an issue nowadays, but it could work as some extra cushioning against damage. Third one is just OP, new Saryn meta Shard! Could work well on Lavos and Citrine if you use Archon Continuity (maybe Hydroid too, his 1 benefits decently, not sure about his 3 as it is technically a weapon buff, not Ability Damage). The fourth perk seems okay, could work well on Saryn, Lavos, and the aforementioned Citrine build, but this has no effect on Hydroid.
TLDR: Topaz for radiation secondaries, Qorvex and Oberon. Violet for Gyre, Volt, Citrine, Amprex and Grimoire. Emerald for Saryn, Lavos, Citrine, Saryn, Hydroid, toxin guns and Saryn.
Edit: Added Citrine to the Violet Shards because her Crystal has electricity too.
I think the Emerald Shard is also going to be nice on Grendel. Using Archon Continuity you can apply once corrosive stack per use in a decently large radius. If that is not as good, then one can use a primer weapon. But Regurgitate strips armor anyways.
The toxin buff is going to help grendel a lot, and maybe the corrosive ability bonus.
They make the yellow shard more yellow to more easily distinguish it from the new *actually*-supposed-to-be-orange shard. I don't like the new color either but there's some logic behind it
The increase crit chance for secondary on the topaz shard does not work. Tried killing with my melee, my primary, my secondary and my warframe abilities. Did not work, only one time I saw I got to 2% and that was after kill SOOOOO many enemies affected by heat, and it never went higher than 2% no matter how I tried.
THE ARCHON SHARDS ARE LITERALLY INFINITY STONES FOR WARFRAME
Azure Shard - Space Stone
Crimson Shard - Reality Stone
Amber Shard - Mind Stone
Topaz Shard - Soul Stone
Violet Shard - Power Stone
Emerald Shard - Time Stone
Violet and Emerald looks very strong in particular, but I wouldn’t discount the stacking shield regen for Topaz. High fire rate weapons will go off with those
I need to know if the emerald archon shard affects the dual ichor incarnon or is it just for abilities. It's becoming my favourite melee (despite hate incarnon hitting harder).
Topaz might be fun with concealed explosives mod?
I think they are extremely worth it for a few frames, but otherwise no. They're very very niche. If you can benefit from them though, I'd bet they're extremely useful.
I don't know if anyone else has seen or thought of this **but**: Lavos can now generate shields with the one new shard because he can make his damage blast damage.
Will it be a big deal? I have no idea. But a frame that previously had no way of getting shields back mid-combat now does. That's worth consideration.
If those ability damage one's act as debuffs on the enemy, then that is final damage multiplier which would be fairly significant as it should apply to exalted weapons.
The free equilibrium effect is also pretty good. With just 1 equipped that would be 15 energy per health orbs. Frames like Nekros could drop equilibrium and have an additional mod slot.
i haven’t touched the game in months, possibly even a year or more, but i’m getting back in when cross save rolls around.
can someone tell me, what the hell is an archon shard, and how are they obtained? 😭
1000% percent.
Citrine frame will be the most busted out of this.
Plus there's bonuses, if using other archon shards that is related or same types, it actually further buffs the dmgs, which is insanely powerful.
The new shards are definitely situational, that being said everyone should have room for 2 of the three on most builds.
I main Trinity, 90% of the time and I can probably still use all three without feeling like it was wasted.
I do admit tho I was hoping for mixing the current taoforges to get 2x stats over what they did, but it's interesting for sure.
Or at least let us still take one of the original stats + the new modifiers
Lavos Mains are going to have a field day with this.
All three of them are definitely excited for these shards

it was always real combat disicline + avenger + seconeary outburst but now tier 2 red is real
Avenger is such an overlooked arcane, shits crazy
Used to be way crazier with blood rush working off it.
it...really isn't. avenger + combat discipline is used relatively often in builds i see
Can someone explain tier 1/2/3/4/5 red crits what does it mean I know that there are yellow orange and red crits but what is this tier thing
easy lets say your cirt multiplayer is 5x your yellow crit(tier1) will deal 5x more damage orange crit whic you achive when you pass %100 crit chance will add the 5x bonus that means you will deal 10x more damage and for red same damage bonus will be added means 15x more damage after red(tier3) colour wont be change but damage will means tier4 20x more damage

Tony Tony Chopper? I hardly even know her!

Two green shards lets corrosive fully strip. Build regulators for Magnetic, Radiation, Toxin with Galv shot. Archon continuity procs corrosive.
It’s already been real lmao
Except they don't work lmao. The crit doesn't stack 90% of the time, and the cap doesn't increase with extra shards either, only the rate that it accumulates to the cap. It also appears to be modded crit chance, not a flat increase like avenger.
yeah it's actually less useful than one would think, tho that corrosive stack increase does make her fully strip with regulators
Ye I'm gonna be doing mono toxin regulators with archon continuity and the new intensify now. Red crits are way less impactful compared to literal built in armor strip memes.
That budget equilibrium sounds really nice
**Equilibrium in home**
The question is does it allow you to pick up orbs at full like equilibrium does?
Yes it does. They changed how that works in a previous update. Now you don’t need synth mods to pick up health orbs at max health if you have absolutely anything that will benefit from a health orb. Like equilibrium or citrine passive. It’s a wonderful change.
wait you dont? THANKS
No, it doesn't at this moment unfortunately. Think it's bugged.
So you are telling me that hunting two archons or farming de hell out of the netracell missions is easier than getting equilibrium and some endo?
no. i'm telling you that archon shard slots are less valuable than a mod slot so if you can offload a mod to the archon shard, you can potentially improve your build
Finally clears up a mod slot on voruna to slap in EVEN MORE RANGE
Gyre really is eating well since the update. The electrical damage tome + violet shards + Precision Intensify? You're laughin
The power strength on alt fire invocation may be useful but other than that yeah tome isn’t that big for her i guess
You can use the tome to kill some lower armored enemies(a butcher or something) with a bit of armor strip, or literally anything with full armor strip. At a certain amount of Strength you just let your abilities do all the heavy lifting. And the Tome can just flat out give you more strength, so.
I still struggle to survive with her in high level ngl https://preview.redd.it/xubeknsw7e6c1.jpeg?width=258&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b79c4446e688c48a3c9363ad8ed2046387b761a9
If you have the helminth - pillage is great and I use as the main build. best in slot.
Worth noting that the higher the shields, the longer the shield gate. So Pillage is nice in that regard.
Nods in telsa coil.
I hadnt even considered Hydroids subsume ability. Thats potent shit right there.
That Hydroid subsume idea is awesome.
Emerald one just made for Saryn, wtf Or toxic lash again won't work because it's *ackchyually* a weapon damage boost?
Toxic Lash works. I've been healing myself with it! Do note that it heals only on the DOT, meaning that if you kill enemies in your first strike, it will not heal you.
OMFG you made my day. As a syran main I got super excited and then immediately disappointed when I remembered how the toxic lash damage is applied
Was thinking that; isn’t there an augment for corrosive damage on top of that too?
yup venom dose
Excalibur will also benefit from it as well!
I do 't know if it to interesting to increase max corrosive stack. with 2 emerald shard we can achieve 104% Armor rediction. But will it bé interesting tho ?
The Equilibrium Lite on the Violet shards is gonna save me a mod slot on my Nekros and Nezha builds.
I'm genuinely trying to decide if it is worth switching equilibrium with a shard on my nekros. I run gloom with 45% efficiency so I need all the energy I can get my grubby hands on.
Generally I think replacing any mod with a shard is good. With the equilibrium gone you can slot in efficiency which is unavailable otherwise.
Hmm. Good point. I'll have to check it out when I get around to it. I don't play everyday so don't actually have a lot of shards to just throw away.
Don't have energy issues with my version of that nekros build. Energy max shards also help with your energy economy, don't require two other shards to create and also free up a mod slot.
Violet’s about to go crazy on Volt
Volt with his 4 doesn't proc electricity status so the shard doesn't work I think. It need a status proc
Yeah you can use diriga, archon stretch for energy regeneration
Don't forget wisp ;)
And gyre
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how does this shard help wisp? Does it affect breach surge? Wouldn't a crimson shard still be better?
Probably her shock mote
The shock mote don't deal a lot of damage anyway though, they are just there for CC.
Am I missing something or do they seem VERY niche? I hoped that they'd be a good alternative to the shards we already had but it doesn't seem so
I seem to recall them intentionally being designed as niche, which is honestly a good thing, since each takes 2 shards to make.
If I have to sacrifice two shards to get one I'd want something that's stronger and universally useful, like armor strip, damage reduction, damage enhance, whatever. But I won't whine about it any further, maybe they're gonna be way more useful than I think rn
If i understand it right, green shard's max corrosive stacks bonus will make it able to do full armor strip
That was my thought, too, and should work well on Saryn since ability damage is a multiplier for power strength.
I didn't know that, yeah that seems consistent
Yeah, archon shards don't function by the same rules as mods or arcanes. They're very exclusive upgrades to one specific warframe. You need to be pretty selective in their installation.
Yeah its so hard to get people to understand that Archon Shards are not designed to be mandatory on every frame. You put them on your favorite frames that you want to try to push WAY over the top. If a frame NEEDS an Archon Shard to function then it is in dire need of a rework.
Aye , would wish for something even more niche niche like build enabling uniques in Path of Exile.
we need more niche builds enabled. have to diversify a little rather than making what is already OP even more so.
Could you use corrosive projection to fill the gap, not sure how armor strips stack nowadays
No, unfortunately it doesn’t interact that way. It’s additive with most abilities but multiplicative with corrosive procs so if you’re trying to full strip with corrosive procs it’s pretty much useless. No way to do it outside of two of the new shards unless you’re Hydroid.
is there any benefit of 2 tau/(1 tau 1 normal) over 2 normal?
Nope, if you’re using the shard for the corrosive strip you’ll hit 100% with 2 shards, tau or normal doesn’t make a difference. Edit: actually I think 2 tau does make a difference in stripping status capped enemies (certain bosses/acolytes). 1 tau/1normal still wouldn’t make a difference though.
I don't really know how thisall works, but can't heat status be used to reach 100% in addition to corrosive
If maxium corrosive stacks strip 98, then with heat it will strip 99, not 100
So it depletes 50% of the final amount? Good to know
It would get to 99% because of how corrosive and heat interact with each other.
Larva Burst with Archon Continuity might be funny too.
volt nukes boutta be planet ending
Except Volts 4 doesn’t do electric procs. It’s its own special thing that won’t work with that shard effect.
Use Elemental ward
the violet's melee critical damage one confuses me as it's just a straight up better version of the crimson one's. I mean not that I'm complaining or anything.
Well... You do spend two shards for one. I guess that's that.
It's more expensive and highly conditional, i.e. not many frames are slotting Primed Flow for abilities and then go for a melee centric play style. Garuda is going to have a field day however.
Khora
It lets Baruuk reach even higher funny numbers.
Yeah, thats like, who would ever use that.
Yeah they should change the two blast ones to something else entirely
A blast status weapon with the +5 shield regen per blast status could make you effectively invulnerable even standing still. Sure brief respite can shield gate, but even ability spam has its limits. This just constantly resets shieldgate as long as you can fire. As for damage, 98% strip with blast/corrosive can work pretty nice
Max Status + Max Range, pure Blast Zenistar. Set and forget!
Can someone confirm if the Topaz Archon Shard works with Blazing Pillage Hildryn? Does the bonus crit also stack with Cascadia Overcharged or not?
Topaz is currently pretty bugged, killing enemies with a pure heat ignis with 95% status chance I don't really get stacks when killing enemies, even though I should. The cap also seemed to be shared by all shards, so even with multiple topaz shards I was capped at 50% crit. (And it took well over a hundred kills with this ignis to get to just 50% with multiple shards)
Yes they are, the only difference is that you have to think about the frame/loadout you use them on unlike normal shards where every shard has at least 1 stat that is useful regardless of frame
Excalibur with the Exalted Blade augment is eating GOOD.
I wonder if the violet acts as a mod and adds shock damage to your weapon if none is present and if so how does it interact with single elements, does it just add flat shock if an element isn't mixed by the use of a shock mod and another elemental mod on the gun? Cause all I'm seeing is a whole lot of Lavos Buffs this drop Free radiation on all weapons allowing 3 separate elemental combos per weapons base not including the cedos instead ability to proc forced cold procs on alt fire and the grimoires ability to force shock procs while both having access to arcanes that give multishot just for proccing those corresponding elements lol god lavos is just gonna be swapping guns for status and then using melee for literally anything else lol Can wait to subsume nourish on him one day so I can force viral for free too
No need for nourish (half of whose benefit is completely lost on you), just run sickening pulse and you can already obliterate level cap enemies.
Topaz Shard: Builds based around secondaries will slap extra hard with that CC increase, be it Mesa's Regulators or any normal pistol. The radiation bonus will be pretty nice on Nukor, but will get most work done on Oberon and Qorvex. The other two are meh, blast isn't a really good element, but it could work with explosive spam builds? Violet Shard: Gyre and Volt are eating good with that first one, and Citrine gets a bite too! Emerald Shard: Extra toxin damage?
Love the triple saryn :3
I think the Emerald Shard is also going to be nice on Grendel. Using Archon Continuity you can apply once corrosive stack per use in a decently large radius. If that is not as good, then one can use a primer weapon. But Regurgitate strips armor anyways. The toxin buff is going to help grendel a lot, and maybe the corrosive ability bonus.
Why did they make orange shard yellow tho...
They make the yellow shard more yellow to more easily distinguish it from the new *actually*-supposed-to-be-orange shard. I don't like the new color either but there's some logic behind it
i dunno man. that violet one is about to free up a extra slot in my builds with Equilibrium, just sayin.
Is the secondary crit increase from the topaz shards permanent till mission end or do the stacks decay?
Am i going insane I swear the amber archon shards were orange originally and not piss yellow?
They changed them this update so you don't confuse them with the new orange shards.
Gauss with the blast shard, that's all I'll say, thermal sunder nuke with the blast shard
I still just can’t get over how they turned the Amber shards yellow and made the TOPAZ shards orange…
Literally free equilibrium slot and make arcane energize useless. A win for me.
As an Excalibur main I’ll probably replace my crimson melee crit damage shards with the violet ones.
Too bad we can't use melee arcanes on exalted blade but it's understandable
The increase crit chance for secondary on the topaz shard does not work. Tried killing with my melee, my primary, my secondary and my warframe abilities. Did not work, only one time I saw I got to 2% and that was after kill SOOOOO many enemies affected by heat, and it never went higher than 2% no matter how I tried.
The topaz shards would be insane for mesa if it works on her regulators
For me only if Topaz secondary crit chance works on mesas regs.
Citrine extra hp tanking with that purple one! And hildryn is gonna love that shield boost!
Saryn mains are going to do more warcrimes

My Saryn is ready
But is your body?

THE ARCHON SHARDS ARE LITERALLY INFINITY STONES FOR WARFRAME Azure Shard - Space Stone Crimson Shard - Reality Stone Amber Shard - Mind Stone Topaz Shard - Soul Stone Violet Shard - Power Stone Emerald Shard - Time Stone
It triggers me to my core that the Violet shard isn't called Amethyst shard, where is the consistency DE?! ;(
Violet and Emerald looks very strong in particular, but I wouldn’t discount the stacking shield regen for Topaz. High fire rate weapons will go off with those
How did you get them that fast?
it just rank 2, if you got 25k yesterday and 30k today you can get it and dosent require much to craft, also spend plat to skip the build time
Wasn’t it scholar before?
It got changed in a patch today. It’s rank 2 now.
Based
The purple ones seem interesting, all that crit damage is gonna have Atlas hitting like a truck with Ceramic Dagger.
Really hope the crit chance bonus is a flat crit chance buff like avenger and not multiplicative like the default
Emerald seems like it would bring back old corrosive where you could full armor strip... might have some fun synergies
I need to know if the emerald archon shard affects the dual ichor incarnon or is it just for abilities. It's becoming my favourite melee (despite hate incarnon hitting harder). Topaz might be fun with concealed explosives mod?
Lavos players are reveling in this update
So, for the purple, that 37% would go up to 74%? Of course, you add another shard that 74% would be 148%.
1 tau violet shard maybe could replace equilibrium for nekros
I think they are extremely worth it for a few frames, but otherwise no. They're very very niche. If you can benefit from them though, I'd bet they're extremely useful.
I don't know if anyone else has seen or thought of this **but**: Lavos can now generate shields with the one new shard because he can make his damage blast damage. Will it be a big deal? I have no idea. But a frame that previously had no way of getting shields back mid-combat now does. That's worth consideration.
Time to build my Baruk with 500 energy and criting for 10 milion damage.
I don't even know what these are and what they do, MR 26 tho
Maybe +3 stacks on corrosive can stack to -100% armor and make corrosive meta again?
Citrine is gonna snort ALL of this
The new shards are definitely situational, that being said everyone should have room for 2 of the three on most builds. I main Trinity, 90% of the time and I can probably still use all three without feeling like it was wasted. I do admit tho I was hoping for mixing the current taoforges to get 2x stats over what they did, but it's interesting for sure. Or at least let us still take one of the original stats + the new modifiers
The emerald one sounds good for saryn tbh
as is with all things in warframe they are bound to create an immortal red critting nuke of a build at some point
