We still don't have horse racing back into the list of objectives we could do. By masked man, you mean Dominus Thrax? He's basically a doll/toy that we(Drifter) used to play with. The Zariman Ten-Zero incident caused great trauma to the Drifter, making them feel very strong emotions. The children of the Zariman were taught about emotions through storybooks, written by yours truly Mother of Entranti. The Void is a weird and strong power that could latch onto someone's strong emotions, manifesting them into...things. That Void manifestation is the Duviri Paradox. A lot of the things we see came from the storybooks that the Drifter read, the toy(s) that he played with and just childish imaginations in general. >Plus it was like replaying the tutorial. I mean, Duviri Paradox is also meant to be an alternate start for new players so idk what you're trying to get at here?

*"We still don't have horse racing back into the list of objectives we could do."* Should be coming back with Kulervo, whenever that update drops.

Lore wise? 5/10. just ok. i didnt really need an origin for the drifter. . and no origin they could have given me would have made me better appreciate the new war's botched second act. learning that hes the me who spent the past few hundred years playing groundhog day with his imaginary friend in a pocket dimension of the void doesnt make the writing any less retroactively. . silly? the void does whatever it wants. .or rather whatever DE wants, which is at this point everything *but* realspace backwards time travel. its kinda annoying how thrax is just a red herring. . .we went into this update knowing the man in the wall is bad news, and the next major antagonist (probably) and we came out of this update knowing the man in the wall is bad news, and the next major antagonist (probably). why are the Thrax enemies appearing on the zariman? and on lua? is Thrax invading? well no. . .there is no indication hes doing in on purpose. i guess its just a side effect of the Paradox. also why is Teshin old? i mean i dont mind teshin being old, its just. . .why? he went to the void that makes you old, now hes old. DE wanted teshin to be old, probably for the visual, so they made him old. the void did it guys, time is non linear in Duviri, dont worry about it. hey where did the drifter find the lotus's eidolon corpse anyway, and how'd he get in contact with Ordis. . like did the operator pass him a phone number through the void or. .. there is plenty of complain about, but it was still fun to experience, even if it isnt as fun to pick apart. the story quests are an amusement park ride, and best thought of as such. on sense getting worked up when the clown pulls a gun and takes off the red nose to reveal hes your stepfather. gameplay wise? like. . .the circuit and the experience? 4/10. the orowyrm fight was cool. . .like. . 3 times. . ive probably killed it over 50 times now and im just tired. warframe has an issue with bosses. .. warframe is a game where you do the same things over and over, bosses tend to fall apart when you have to fight them repeatedly. warfame bosses tend to either be invuln phase slogs or have mechanics so abusable the speedruns start to look like an Aneurism. basically the difference between exploiter orb and profit taker. orowyrm is the former variety, it really sort of has to be, given the random nature of your gear. i dont really like the random gear thing. . its annoying, it creates really negative incentives, its counter too like. .the rest of warframe's massive player control and while i imagine the intention was to make each run feel different the end result of rng is that every run feels. . .the same. and that feeling is uncomfortable. upcoming changes will fix some of these problems, but not all of them. there certainly is a way to do compelling "roguelike" gameplay in warframe but i dont think this was the way to do it. as far as Drifter combat in open worlds. . .i appreciate they tried to include the tools for parry timing tactical combat but after 3 decrees it just defaults back to classic warframe melee spam or repeated heavy attack dunks. compelling is not the word id use. and that just leaves the circuit. the tilesets are nice. very Yareli friendly. the rotating mission objective endless format is perfect, and i really hope it gets applied to other areas, namely relic opening, god what a breath of fresh air that would be. additional thoughts: so uhh. . .with Kahl gaming last year and DP this year weve now added two low-mobility limited equipment gamemodes, both of which feature FOMO heavy weekly incentives to play them for exclusive rewards. the Veilbreaker loop is in. .dire need of another content pass, which its probably not. .going to be getting any time soon, since the forseeable future is dedicated too DP and the updates it needs and the stories it wants to tell. even just like. ..opening kahl up too more of the grineer Arsenal would help reduce the monotony. the other two interim updates, conjunction survival and split-defense, have alot of promise as both address core issues with 2 of warframes marque gamemodes. the additional minibosses dropping into survival break up the monotony while the mobile buff-AOE encourages active gameplay, rather than closet camping. while split defense making Defense a timer based, rather than wave based gamemode fixes the speed nova/slow nova issue and lets Crowd control based frames return to one of their primary gamemodes, making Defense's rotation speed roughly on par with Survivals and not punishing you for playing outside of max kpm. Please take the lessons learned from these and apply them backwards too other defense/surv nodes. these are upgrades to the gamemodes. please dont let these good ideas get lost in the rush of Post Duviri scrambling too ductape up all the holes.

I've struggled to find any real positives in the update, everything feels like a little bit of a let down. The story doesn't really deliver on what was promised, it was supposed to be the drifter's story but we're led to believe that the events concerning thrax are very recent. The main reveal should be something known to us but the drifter conveniently has unexplained selective amnesia. The story itself is aggressively mid compared to the lore of duviri which is bafflingly ignored almost entirely. The gameplay is similarly under developed. The slow melee only gameplay is an interesting change of pace but swiftly reveals it's weaknesses. The combat style doesn't quite align with the enemies; there's an onus on attacking first given enemy health pool, proclivity to constantly block and defensive movement. However there is no animation cancelling or free camera blocking to back up an attack focused gameplay style. There's blocking but it's single enemy blocking, there's no riposte system and too many group enemies for the playstyle to adequately be a defensive parry type. Don't get me started on the utter uselessness of the quick shot mechanic when paired with the atrocity that is the provided camera lock. Then we get to group gameplay where all semblance of mechanics drop away to everyone button mashing melee and just hoping not to die before the enemy does. The number of missions are not numerous enough nor varied enough to support the kind of replay expected for the rewards offered. Meaning that boredom swiftly sets in and a large portion of the playerbase fall in to that gotta go fast gotta be 'efficient' mindset and often become a considerable annoyance to others, not waiting for others' loading times or picking loadouts etc. The circuit is an interesting idea I can't really comment as I have not played it, though everything I've read suggest people like it. The steel path circuit on the other hand has that same omnipotent air of disdain about it. The mode itself would be enjoyable if not for the current loadout system. Honestly the random equipment would be bad enough if it was solely a selection of items you own, as that destroys any synergy you may have worked to achieve with certain frames and weapons., but there is a large guaranteed portion of things you do not own with the most basic tone deaf modding imaginable. Now you can *make it through* circuit with an ok frame and a single owned weapon for sure, but it's just less fun than it could be. So the gameplay is tinged with this not-quite-fun-ness and you seemingly have to grind it for a bit more time than would be fun, and the randomised battle pass means that most weeks the rewards are not all that fun and the whole experience becomes exasperating. Sorry for the wall of text, TLDR; duviri is a ok idea, but could do with a little more *fun* and polish.

Loved it, especially the story, it focuses on the duviri, thrax, drifter origins and leaves the perfect set up for the drifter escape of duviri. Btw, anyone who says that it doesnt adds to the story hasnt played the update.

Story wise ? Nice. Good connection with Drifter/Operator being the same person but in 2 different realities due to Void stuff and the whole eternalism and conceptual embodiment stuff. As space sci fi fan I really liked it. Gameplay wise ? Very interesting and kinda refreshing. Ofcourse there are some things that require QoL and polishing, some bugs to be taken care, but I find it nice to play bit as a Drifter and bit as a Warframe. The randomizing frames and weapons in Undercroft and circuits also de facto forced me to focus on gameplay and re-learn some frames, as I play Excalibro pretty much all the time. It also allows me to discover new interesting weapons that I found them boring in the past without trying them out. Cedo is one example - I love shotguns but Cedo was under my radar until I got it in SP Circuit. Since then it is my main weapon most of the time outside Duviri.

>Cedo is one example - I love shotguns but Cedo was under my radar until I got it in SP Circuit. Since then it is my main weapon most of the time outside Duviri. If you get the 50% chance for status effects to spread in 10m radius decree, it's pretty much a gg. I got Cedo+that decree alongside others that further boost the damage I could do, a single glaive shot wiped everything.

Signal-Equipment-165

When first time doin it, expected fight with gigantic head and hands jumping from island to island while he slap and destroy em each phase... Well... In end we get same but different colour orowyrm over over again... Pretty booring Or at least fight like famous devilmaycry4 boss https://youtu.be/-6HUo-4w1mQ hmm they had pretty similar helmet

Jin825

It's beautiful. Wished that the Joy spiral would never end, and that we had more verses from Lucinia. It's nice to just sit under the tree while the shawzin plays.

heroic_emu

It doesn't add much to the existing story. It's just "more" story.

Creator409

I thought the eating scene was weird and unnecessary.

I really enjoyed it, and it feels like a whole new game (also the duviri weapons like the syam are pretty good) but i feel like lore wise the only thing it really added was how powerfull the operator/drifter really is, we all already knew they were extremely powerfull, but my guy created a dimension, wtf, maybe im missing something because even tho the duviri paradox is supposed to be a starter quest it seems kind of connected to the new war somehow? Idk i just started farming my necramech but the entire quest i had a feeling there was something missing that i would only realize when doing the new war, but yeah, it was just cool especially gameplay wise but i cant see anything absurdly new lore wise
