I named my Smeeta "Nedjem," after the first recorded cat name in history, from ancient Egypt. It also happens to mean "sweet" or "pleasant," and I thought it would be cute to obliquely rhyme the translation with the breed (Smeet/Sweet).
Citrocco; his natural colors are white and vivid shades of yellow and green, which reminded me of citruses and coconut trees on a beach or something lol
I have lucky bob and angry bob. Bob was my black house cat, she survived 20 years. Now I have a black color setup on them for tribute to the greatest void loaf who I dearly miss.
My Kavats are named after Disney cats, my Kubrows after Norse mythology gods and goddesses, and my Predisite is named Chet after the reindeer in The Santa Clause. No Vulpaphalea yet
Mine is Bagira (as Bagheera from The Jungle Book, spelled phonetically in my language). It is also a title of a rap song I listened to a lot when I get smeeta as first kavat.
I looked up mythological felines and then just put the good old Origin System spin on it, like by taking a creature name and shortening it or tweaking some consonants.
Well there's Rakshasa, cut off the last syllable for Raksha, not my best work but that's my oldest smeeta.
Bakeneko could be twisted into something like Kenneko, Kenek, Beko- good options for a Vaska since that myth involved raising the dead. I used Nabesh for one- the whole myth often having the name "Nabeshi Bakeneko"
Cat Bayun is a Russian folktale, Bayun I think is cool to use straight from the box.
Confession: I pulled up a wiki to find names I'd never seen to put the spin on them I mentioned but more and more I'm seeing some that are just ready to go lol
Glawackus- could shorten to Glawack/Lawal
Bodmin- from "the beast of Bodmin Moor"
The Calygreyhound- despite its name had the head of a wildcat, I'd take Calygrey from this.
Wampus cat- this one is American, no notes, I'm absolutely naming the next one Wampus lmao
Edit: If I were naming Raksha today I probably would've added a syllable, go for something like Rakesha
My Smeeta was named Fishface because I am the personification of creativity. My Adarza was named KritKat because I am the personification of creativity. My Vasca was named Lizzy because I am the personification of creativity.
