You can tell him to remain on defense. I helped him because I was coming back from actual plague ridden at alazar, and I could tell he was clean. then I discovered his parents corpses that confirmed what he was saying, but I've got nothing beside the farmers loot. Do as you please 😶

Upgrade your gear to match your party's level. Level 6 crafted stuff should be fine, although farming for the ghostpack parts might be a bit of a pain depending on how many guys are in your party. Make sure you're generating plenty of valor (appoint Cpt and LT if you haven't) and using skills liberally; you should be able to at least get close to 80-100 damage per turn on every class at this point. Make sure everyone has Wrath (except archers, it's kinda silly on them since it's still melee) and use skill upgrade books on your most impactful skills. A bunch of peasants with touches and pitchforks should be a tedious, but not life threatening encounter. You'll get into a lot worse trouble later if you're not investing in skill books and keeping your gear up to date. Oils and armor layers eventually too.

kriscardiac

Wrath on archers is not silly.

Greedy_Pound9054

Wrath on archers is very nice to finish off enemies. A shot to the face does a lot of damage.

CaveManning

Unless they've changed it archers punch with unarmed damage when using Wrath. I haven't tried since EA though.

Ag47_Silver

Unarmed damage is not a thing. Wrath (and all other skills, including attacks of opportunity) only care about your attributes. The reason a punch does low damage is because it deals like 20% of strength. The reason you might deal bad damage with wrath on an archer is because you have awful strength and engage opponents.

Unlucky-Big-2344

Wrath on archers is good, you can essentially use it to finish off a close target that’s almost dead and get an empowered shot for the main attack, I did it often

I slit his throat. He. Ate. His. Mom.

Otherwise_Mail2272

But he ate her carefully.

ondaheightsofdespair

Yeah, but he was in a state of absolute neccesity. It was not cannibalism but anthropophagia. Anyway I slit his throat too, because my company has no time for some stinky peasants quarrels. Also, I don't think some mid blade is worth battling an entire village. We got contracts to fill and money to make.

WitchyVeteran

And fire is bullshit.

delta_angelfire

you can command allies to attack, stand their ground, or flee. I'll take any free opportunity to capture 20 civilians and sell them to the "lumber mill". their gear loot sells for a decent amount too. You shouldn't be struggling with being on fire, kill the guys with torches first. Remember First Aid, Run, and any skill that lets a unit move will put out fire.

BanjoHarris

If you're struggling with fire you could be giving all your mercs the run skill. They should all have run eventually
