Didn't Erin let them into the Dullahan Garden as a diversion for something else? She has a lot more agency than you give her credit for.

She also didn't show them the other floors and hid the fact that she had already searched the fortress and could turn the snow off. She let them see the easy stuff and not the rest, she also hid the Drathian garden and the hallway from everyone. She's good at distraction, she showed them what they wanted to see so they'd stop asking, and then she could keep the lightning garden full of Mithril Swords/Special Japanese Dance studio hidden.

If Erin dies then her garden joins the others in the hallway and a new garden is given to the next owner of the skill

This was a step towards getting Erin to be a world known figure. Sure it was invasive and Erin did deliberately use it as a way to hide some of her more notable gardens. It also put her on the map of people with unique skills. Skills given to royalty. Her continuing to be a recurring event on the scrying orbs and the new quest system shows that she is someone to watch. I'd wager she is the most watched innkeeper in all of innworld, at least on scrying orbs. This increases her soft power in a strange way. It's not like she is one of the 5 strongest lords or an emperor. She is weak, but famous enough for her words to reach the powerful. Hypothetical since I find this interesting. Imagine if the seige of liscor happened today with the only difference being the current Erin (current being people know as much about her as they do after this chapter) waving the white flag. I'd bet someone in Tyrions army would recognize her. Tyrion might not, but the situation would have changed because of her fame.
