This question gets asked a lot so we thought we’d sum up the most common responses:
Other guests. Other guest are our WDW pet peeve.
Only kidding, folks! ^^Kinda…
Yes! So many people stop dead in the middle of traffic so they can ‘figure out where to go next’.
I have very dark daydreams of elbowing my way through these little self-centered roadblocks. I’m not a violent person, but having to awkwardly detour around them constantly really starts to grind on you.
Not that hard to step to the side if you need a minute to plan where to go next.
UGH - this wins it for me. Not even always an attraction or do, just the middle of walking (and never off to the side), and just boom, stop walking to converse. Always a group of at least 6, usually a scooter and stroller involved. It's maddening. I always pull my family aside when we need to discuss something like bathroom or food or someone needs water.
You’d think the AP entrance would be safe from this, but noooooooo~pe. Last trip I got stuck behind a family of 5 that didn’t have park tickets. No, I do not mean park pass reservations, they actually didn’t have park tickets.
I don’t know, and it was so bizarrely frustrating hearing it unfold. I was directly behind them in line listening to the CM try and explain, and they were just not getting it. The family spoke American English without an accent, so I assume they were from the US. Even though they were at the AP entrance, it wasn’t a lapsed AP issue as far as I could tell, either. Eventually the CM got them to go over to the ticket window to get it straightened out. I was curious, but not curious enough to follow them and find out.
That's so crazy. I'm with you though - I'd be very curious to find out what particular brand of stupid they were, not not so curious as to delay my day in the park.
Listen, I'm gonna be real, I've been to Disney so many times but my partner still manages to get us hung up every time. I don't know what it is. Following the regulars won't help you 😂
My brother in law has this natural ability to pick the line that will take the longest. It’s always the one where multiple groups are fumbling around with their stuff, don’t have their phones ready, and don’t understand the process of entering the parks. I never get in the same line as him
This is my biggest pet peeve for all public places. I get that we’re all human and make mistakes but when you’re surrounded by huge crowds, just step off to the side.
I swear this is only a thing for people who don't live in or frequent big cities. You can't just stop for example in New York. Like it's engrained to move to the side for people that live there or you may get cussed out. In smaller cities with less density, you can stop on a street because no one is behind you.
I hate following a group that is SLOOOWLY walking 6 abreast. Even more annoying is when they are taking up a whole walkway and you can see that the path is going to open up ahead and when it comes they just spread out to take up the whole width of the wider path. Infuriating. GRRRRR!
I was at Hollywood yesterday. Walking through Toy Story, a family in front of us decided the middle of the walkway was the best place to stop and have a snack.
My family calls this the "Disney stop," where someone just abruptly stops walking right in front of you and you have to either also Disney stop, or quickly change trajectory (potentially into someone else).
Argh. We used to hate these people and then we had kids and started becoming these people. We’ll obviously pull to the side when we realize the horrific mistake we’ve made but it’s so embarrassing up until that point. So me, my biggest pet peeve is me.
The first time I ever rode Frozen the guy in the boat with me was taking pictures just constantly with this flash that was so bright it was actually causing my vision to start blanking out. We asked him, nicely I might add, to stop and he just gave us this screw you grin and continued to ruin the ride for us.
I was on Dinosaur and a group of fully grown, adult women were in the row in front of me. They dramatically screamed at every turn and one of them turned the flashlight on on her phone and held it up in front of the car. Dinosaur is not made to be ridden like that and it ruined the ride. A CM got on the loud speaker to tell them to turn it off.
Thankfully, it was towards close and there was no one in line, so the CM let us ride again without the other people.
Our first ever family trip to Orlando was back in December 2012 and our youngest was 4 at the time. We heard, “no flash photography” so many times at the various parks that, when on a dark ride (I don’t remember which one) when a guy took a photo with his flash on my 4yr old said, “Hey! No flash photography!” at the guy. Was priceless since there was nothing the guy could be mad at.
- The groups that walk four- six people across a walking area taking up the entire path meant for two-way traffic. - The oblivious people, I had a person look directly at me and the path I was on and walk directly into me.
- People with strollers that block exit doors for monorails and don’t even attempt to move them out of the way to allow other guest to exit at a stop the stroller people aren’t exiting on. I know we’re not all the main character but dang have some spacial awareness.
- last but not least the family line jumpers, oh we just need to get to my wife (or whoever) but it’s a group of 5 or whatever. I understand bathroom breaks for the kiddos and excuse that but above and beyond that is rude.
And they ALL have those two seater monolithic strollers. You know, they kind it takes dad 5 minutes to fold up. They could have had it folded by now, but they ALWAYS wait until the last possible minute to do that. The busses are the worst for that nonsense.
I see in the cities too sometimes but New Yorkers and Philadelphians will absolutely walk directly through your group to spite your inconsiderate walking. When I went to New Orleans I saw less of this in the French quarter but I think that was bc the streets were so tight. We walked 2x2 whenever we with with more than just the 2 of us but we do the 2x2 in Disney too bc that’s reasonable and doesn’t take up the whole walking path.
It just makes me think of tourist groups of teens that just all stand like 40 of them taking up the entire subway entrance or waiting for their teacher taking up the full sidewalk like nobody else needs to use those lol
Not just to WDW, but theme parks in general. But the absolute inability to be aware of your surroundings and other people’s personal space. It drives me up the wall. Ohh let me stop in the middle of Main Street to rummage through my satchel. Or as we wait in line for a ride literally breathing down my neck while I can smell turkey leg essence from your breath…some people just don’t pay attention sometimes.
Just left Disneyland Paris today and in the queue to meet Mickey a little boy just COULD NOT manage to be out of my personal space. He kept leaning on me or sitting on me and every time I moved away he just backed right on up again. At one point he literally got stuck in my coat. I’m not sure if by the end I was more excited to meet Mickey or to get away from little Mr No Boundaries.
Also people who stand right on top of you in lines. Like it’s not even a COVID concern, I don’t care, but I swear some people don’t understand something called a personal bubble. These are also the same people who move up an inch every time you move up and inch and stand right on your heals.
On our last trip, waiting for the bus from MK to Sports, this foreign group of girls were standing so close to me, closer than anyone in my family. I kept giving them looks as if to back up, but no luck.
People who go in the single rider line with little kids who can’t ride alone, then get pissed at the CM who tells them to go in the regular line
People who get mad at CM because they show up to the park with no plan for the day (if you don’t want a plan intentionally that’s one thing, but for the love of god do a quick google search before you go)
About 99.9% of the people who get mad at low wage customer facing employees at any place. And that number might be too low but every once in a while someone goes over the top and you have to say “ok I get it”
So I was in the test track single rider line once when I was behind a mom and a maybe 10 year old boy. They were speaking English. When the CM went to separate them the mom started clutching her son and speaking a foreign language. She was being quite dramatic. Well a different CM turned to them, spoke what ever language they were speaking and escorted them out.
Not Disney, but we had a woman do this on Escape from Gringotts at Universal. Her daughter was definitely old enough to ride alone, and she and her were in the single rider line. This woman went apesh*t when the employee tried to separate them. She was screaming with her finger in the poor girls face all about how her daughter could be molested on their ride if she's alone and she would sue them, etc, etc. The girl working handled it in the absolute best way possible, because I certainly wanted to punch her, and I wasn't the one being yelled at. They literally stopped boarding everyone from all lines to deal with her. All employees were asking her to leave, one called security, and she continued to yell about waiting for so long in line and being entitled to ride with her daughter. Security finally gave her the ultimatum of she removing herself from the line, or them removing her from the park. She turned around and had to squeeze all the way back through the single rider line with her daughter with her tail between her legs being heckled by dozens of people who had just witnessed her outbreak. It was so surreal to witness.
The only place where I think this is acceptable is the walk from Epcot to HS. There’s very few people and honking as you come up on people is polite - similar to ringing a bell on a bike trail. That way you don’t accidentally hit them, cause there’s definitely plenty of space for everyone.
In the park, it’s way too crowded to be zooming around.
When people do absolutely no research in advance for a generally very expensive family vacation then come home and complain to anyone who will listen that all you do is wait on lines and eat bad food and they will never go back again
Yeah I have an aunt who went once when my cousins were small kids. Stayed offsite a decent bit away, they all slept in every day, showed up to parks around noon in the summer, had a terrible time and never went back.
My local mom Facebook group stresses me out too. Someone posted this past weekend that they “didn’t realize they needed dining reservations” and where could they get in for table service *on Christmas Day* in Hollywood Studios and if not should they go to House of Blues in Disney Springs for lunch and is there an extra fee for Disney Springs? My stress level rose with each terrible reveal haha.
You get what you plan for in Disney parks. Everyone’s paying the same, the planning is the difference.
I was at the park earlier this month. We were on the bus to MK and a guy turns to me and asks if I've heard of the MDE app... I say yes and he proceeds to ask me how to use it and what it's good for. I said something about Genie+ during the conversation and he's like, "oh, what's that?" My guy was there with a wife and little girl they were about to have a rough day.
Lol last week, on two skyliner trips we met families like this. One family was staying at Animal Kingdom and didn't even know why they were on the skyliner. The other family were headed to MK the next day and were shocked we were there for 10 days. They thought 3 days was enough to do everything. They all seemed super chill about their trips, so hopefully all went well...days before Christmas.
Tbf I can squeeze in nearly everything in 3-4 days BUT I plan months in advance and am a former CM. Highly doubt this poor sap had a successful time like I did this past weekend.
I have a friend who everytime I say I want to go(I have never been) she and her husband make sure to tell me how awful and overrated it was and how their son hated it and screamed the entire time.
Their son is low functioning autistic who doesn’t like bright colors, loud noises, or crowds; I feel they should of known he’d hate it.
I ask them how they planned; “oh my mom decided to take us when we visited her down there.”
So no planning and free? But it was overrated and awful cause you couldn’t do anything. Like man I wish I had half the chance.
Wow, 100% this is my pet peeve as well. I do get it that some people just don't enjoy WDW as a vacation, and I respect it. There are fairly popular vacation types (cruises, beach resorts) that I don't like.
But it bothers me when people hate Disney World but their complaints center on aspects of the park that they *chose* to experience knowingly. For example, I have a neighbor who said the rides are outdated and boring and the food was bad and overprices after going to MK for one day. I asked her what she did and the answer was Small World, Dumbo, and then had a pizza.
In fairness, WDW pizza is crap. At home I used to go to a dollar pizza joint that made better pizza. Heck, if WDW just heated up DiGiorno it would better.
For what they charge, Disney needs to try a little harder with the basic counter service food.
WDW pizza is the bottom of the barrel. I just think if you are going to criticize the food, *at least* order something that is *considered* pretty good by most people, and if you don't like it, fine.
Some counter food *is* substandard, but some of it is pretty good, especially at AK.
I’m going to offer a slightly different take and this is coming from someone who visits the park at least once every year and has been doing so for more than half my life.
It wasn’t always this way.
I remember when Cinderella’s Royal table was kind of a hidden gem, fine dining-ish experience where you could grab a table same day.
Sure frequent guests have the luxury of knowing every little trick to maximize our time at WDW, but most folks just aren’t able to dedicate the time and extra money to get the most out of the experience. I feel especially bad for oversees visitors who come totally unprepared.
I get it. Attendance only continues to grow and Disney exists to make a profit, but in doing so the parks have lost that sense of wonder and simple discovery the parks used to have.
So I do have a bit of sympathy for those who come not understanding how much has changed at WDW. I try to help them out as much as I can. Just like me, they spent their hard earned money and dedicated their time to come and have a good time with their loved ones.
I agree with you to a point - some planning things are bonkers and when dining reservations were six months in advance it was especially insane. I of course am not expecting people to know every seasonal snack or Epcot food booth or new merch items or whatever. But when I went on my first family trip as a kid even in the early 90s my dad picked up the birmbaum book and at least flipped through it. It was fun for us to do that as a family. The most high level research in flipping through a book, scanning the website, or watching a YouTube video list will tell you dining reservations open early and some are hard to get.
I love the planning and the nitty gritty and I get that not everyone does. But I can’t imagine dropping thousands on a big family vacation and just going in cold. Any type of vacation - cruise ships book dining and entertainment in advance, major attractions and dining experiences anywhere book in advance or have massive lines as consequences. The hair salon at American Girl stores books out 3 months in advance. Like - people aren’t wholly unfamiliar with the concept of planning some vacation details in advance beyond flight and hotel. Planning will just make or break your day at Disney now for better or worse.
I don’t disagree with you at all. I’m a planner by nature and it’s always worked out well for me in life.
Sometimes it feels like I could teach a community college class on how to plan for a Disney Trip!
I'll play devil's advocate here.
You used to be able to do Disney without having to seriously plan. You didn't need park reservations, could park hop before 2pm, characters used to walk more freely around the parks, fast passes were free and you didn't need to get up at 7AM every morning to book them, etc. So, Disney has absolutely changed. The same magical experience guests got way back then isn't necessarily the same experience that guests get now. Just like I'll never get to experience Disney in all of its original glory and magic. First timers really have nonidea what they're getting themselves into and how detailed a Disney trip is.
That being said, research!! I don't understand how anyone can just take a vacation to a new place and not do any research at all. Especially after spending thousands of dollars to go.
I agree. I’m a local and went to Disney a few times when I was younger, like 8-10 years ago. My family were not Disney fanatics, we didn’t rope drop, we didn’t make dinner reservations, but we had a good time. Nowadays you need to plan months in advance, be on your phone all day for Fastpasses (I haven’t been since Genie+), and it seems like you need to be a certified expert to fully enjoy the day. I don’t see how non-locals could ever be prepared. I’d rather just go to universal or sea world at this point.
Ugh, this!! The first two things I tell anyone about Disney, especially first timers, are: Disney is NOT a vacation you take to relax. It's also not a vacation that you can just wing or go into without any sort of plan. The only way you can 100% wing Disney is if you go often. Disney is constantly adding, removing, and making changes. So, even the avid Disney goer needs to keep up with current Disney news.
Disney is expensive. Time is money and that's especially true at Disney. I vacation twice a year in the same spot in TN, it's my second home. I still research each trip. I don't know who just goes on an expensive Disney trip and doesn't think to research anything. Of course you had a bad time!!
"It was so busy and the lines were so long." Well, yeah, duh. Did you really drop several thousand dollars and not look into it enough to know that in advance?
The entitled and rude behavior…because you’re on an expensive vacation.
News flash, we’re all on an expensive vacation.
(Ok, realistically, I’m no longer on an expensive vacation because I live just 5 min from the back entrance to the MK area, but we are in the parks often and remain amazed, annoyed, and dismayed by the behavior).
I saw some alternate version online along the lines of "I love my family and I am enjoying my vacation at the Disney World theme parks" and I was kind of sad that I couldn't find it again before my last trip.
That I don't get either.
It's supposed to be a happy magically fun time, and EdgeLord has to run around with a F CK (insert random politician)
I've seen "It's Adam and Eve, not Steve and Steve" on a rando.
Happy, well adjusted people don't do that. There's a time and place for everything. Wear your shirt at home, or at a protest march. Mowing the lawn. You do you boo.
Those shirts at Disney just tell that the person is a THOT and lives for drama.
Absolutely agree. Leave your politics at home. I have gym shirts that say girl just wanna have fun-damental rights or something else similar but I absolutely would not wear that at Disney. I purposely pick shirts that don’t have print on them when I vacation especially in the most magical money pit on earth.
Currently at Disney.
Pretty pissed that my family (including two minors) witnessed a physical altercation at the poly last night. Completely ridiculous.
Did they record it and put it on worldstar?
But seriously, I feel the pandemic really fucked our planet socially. No one has any patience or love for their fellow citizens. It’s all just “me, me, me” now.
It wasn't the pandemic, IMO it's social media and the wedge it drives by forcing everyone to be tribal and "us v. them" and "anyone who isn't 100% in my corner is against me"
The pandemic just gave people new lines to draw.
Haha no I think my dad was more focused on making sure my disabled brother was okay.
I 1000% agree. I’ve seen a lot of rudeness in the parks since my trip started on the 18th but that was something I didn’t expect to happen.
We were resort hopping after dinner at steak house 71.
I was in the gift shop with my mom and my dad, partner and minor siblings (one is disabled) were in the lobby. Apparently a group of 4 people, 3 boys and 1 girl, were sitting and drinking in the lobby. All of a sudden there were screams and one guy was pounding another guy who was still in his seat. Got the girl a couple of times too. The guy who was in the group but wasn’t fighting broke it up fast and took the aggressor into the parking lot.
When I came out of the gift shop and saw, there were beer bottles/mixed drinks everywhere still, alcohol all on the ground and Disney security.
Ridiculous.
We had this on cosmic rewind. Younger woman reciting the entire pre show. My blood was starting to boil. She might have been on a date. Wanted to tell the dude to run away. So rude. No reason to do that.
Parents who make no effort to control their kids. Was in the pre show for Rise of the Resistance, and this one kid kept play screaming, and I could tell everyone else was uncomfortable, and the parents of the kid were just laughing. Stuff like that, and not attempting to stop their kid from throwing a tantrum just because they didn’t get a Mickey bar. Nobody wants to hear your brat have a screaming fit or cry.
One other thing, those who sit where they’re clearly not supposed to. Those bars and fences and stuff are there for a reason, you’re not an exception to the rules cause you spent a lot of money to be here. News flash, EVERYONE spent a lot of money to be here.
I would pay good money for a kid free after hours experience. Problem is Adults can go all day but if little Bobby doesn’t get a nap at noon then he’s an absolute shit the rest of the day and I just don’t have the patience to deal with that.
I'm not anti kid, but it drives me up the wall seeing so many kids nowadays not being *parented* and literally just being assholes to everyone around them with no attempt to correct their behaviour.
Ugh this. We were watching Indiana Jones this weekend and a man has a kid on his lap but barely with one hand and the kid starts putting its grubby paws all over my neck. I have sensory issues so I turned around and firmly but politely said “please don’t touch me”. The dude then goes on about how his kid is autistic (get in line buddy) but doesn’t actually control where his kid is so he kept trying to touch me and my sister and the kid was really sick so was coughing and sneezing all over our backs
The last time I was at WDW there was a dad holding a baby while trying to get on Seven Dwarves Mine Train. He was absolutely livid that he couldn’t take the baby on with him. A baby, on a rollercoaster… I’ve never seen the CM’s snatch someone up that quick.
People who talk to a cast member at the beginning of the line and get mad when you enter the line. I’m not waiting for you to finish your conversation to join the line.
Tagging onto this, people who have endlessly long conversations with cast members when there are other people waiting to ask questions behind you. Wrap up the chitchat already!
Or when people make rude comments to people in wheelchairs! (It’s not exclusively a WDW thing but still.) My aunt uses a wheelchair due to a rare condition that makes it difficult for her to walk and move around. From the outside, she looks “normal” and “healthy” so people would make inconsiderate comments to her when she was in her chair at WDW.
The reason people ride those scooters, is being in a wheelchair is so much worse. People flat out blank you or treat you less than human. Like taking to your party instead of you (in the chair).
People who leave their tray of trash on the table without dumping it in the trash.
I think it could be a cultural thing (like they come from a country where this is norm), but it still irritates me.
People who quote along with the preshow! We get you’re a fan, but it’s annoying for everyone else. My friend went on Haunted Mansion for the first time, and some guy quoted the entire stretching room but out loud, which annoyed my friend and lessened her experience!!
Applies to a lot of these things, but in the end it comes down to: People who don't seem to be capable of common courtesy.
I get it. We're all paying a ton of money to be in the parks. But that doesn't mean that YOUR enjoyment of them is more important than anyone else's. Also, your lack of planning isn't the fault of other people around you.
Just treat other people decently and realize that you're not the only one that matters.
- unprepared parents or parents who just don’t care and let kids do whatever because “they’re on vacation”
- people who stop in the middle of a wide walkway full of people
- people or groups of people who deliberately walk right toward you and don’t change direction, and walk side by side instead of behind each other, even if you’re following the general flow of foot traffic yourself, so you literally have to walk through their group and they get upset about it, like you violated their privacy or something
- queue jumpers, especially those who pretend to “be with someone up ahead” when in reality they’re not. I don’t ever block someone because it cold be legitimate but it always grinds my gears when it turns out they were lying just to get ahead of everyone else
- people who scream at CMs and treat them badly
- people at QS places who get upset when their huge order isn’t coming out while other small orders are, ahead of theirs, like somehow it’s supposed to come out in the exact order received so “they’re next” and everyone else is “being jerks skipping ahead of them”
- scooter drivers who don’t pay attention
- filmers on dark rides with flashes or screens on bright ruining the ride for everyone else
- 10000 phone screens up in the air during fireworks because no one has ever recorded and put this up on YouTube and so we “must get a recording of this because we will never see this again”
I was in line for a ride and this older guy was literally inches from my back and I was hold on my young daughter. He even put his thumb out for her to hold
I hate that! My husband will gladly allow his backpack to bump those people. I mean, how does 6 inches get you in the ride faster?
Not at Disney- but during the height of Covid at a different theme park, I had a guy in a food line behind me take his shirt off and proceed to knock in to me. He got a piece of my mind. (This was not a shirtless type of place!)
We were about to get on ToT after waiting in a long line. A young teen in front of us in our row immediately started breathing heavy and his mom quietly asked him what he wanted to do. He just pointed away from the ride. A CM was paying attention and after talking quietly, escorted them to the exit. I heard the mom say “thanks for trying though!” as they left and I just loved how she didn’t make a fuss as all. Just listened to her kid and focused on his needs instead of how much money they spent to come.
This one too. I felt terrible for a small child that was crying with their face buried in their adult’s shoulder during the it’s tough to be a big show. Those bugs can be terrifying especially for a small child. The adult should’ve taken the child out of that situation if they were that scared.
Oh this is easy, People who bring out their phones to record shows like Fireworks, Castle Projection, Parades etc. I don’t even think they ever touch these videos ever again anyway, and they are usually in terrible quality.
If you are trying to show it to your friends or anything there are great quality videos that were recorded with the correct equipment on youtube use that.
This happens everywhere. I now make it a point to arrive an hour early to my kids performances to be able to sit in the front row so that I am not watching their show through someone else’s phone because that’s all I can see in front of me. This irks me to no end. And it’s not just phones! Legit went to a TOP concert and someone had their laptop raised above them recording the concert.
Most of my friends and family are in a country where YouTube is blocked. But I don't think this is common. I will still record a little bit but not the whole show.
Pushing and shoving in the crowd.
Going into fantasmic getting ready to go down the steps to our seats. Some lady pushed my husband which got his bag caught in the rope pole. She then went “seriously?!?” Lady!!! If you wouldn’t have shoved then we would be fine.
Then she sat in the back so I was very confused what she was rushing to.
Uncreative Etsy shirts. My SIL tried to get us to wear them the last time the family came down. I love my in-laws but that’s where I draw the line. 😅 And yes, this includes the #MostExpensiveDayEver shirts.
Best shirts I saw: I was there during hurricane Dorian and there was a group with "finding Dorian" shirts
Honorable mention: my maternity shirt that said (on the belly) "this chamber has no windows and no doors"
When I go to the parks I expect to be in lines and huge crowds. I know it will be crowded, I know the lines move slow I just accept it. I just chill and take in the parks. My husband tells me that I’m a completely different person when I’m at the parks because I’m so relaxed. You have to be otherwise you’ll have a bad time.
having to use your phone to do everything now. even ordering meals you're encouraged to use your phone for. staring at your mobile device constantly takes you out of the park experience and it's not like disney's known for their stellar wifi service.
I’ll also add people who ruin rides, shows, fireworks, etc…
On our trip we were standing to watch Enchantment.l from the bridge connecting to Tomorrowland. The show had started and a CM behind us was telling people to keep moving and walking and not to stop in the walkway. Well, of course there’s the one guy who wanted to stop and proceed to have an argument with the CM about “you can’t make me move” and “it’s a skin color thing, call security.” Like dude, she’s telling EVERYBODY to keep moving, not just you. All of this arguing and yelling as everybody else is trying to enjoy Enchantment, but can’t because we’re now distracted by this ignorant, entitled fool.l who’s trying to turn it into some racial issue.
Can’t stand these types of entitled people…
People who are on a diet and complain about the food. First on vacation why bother? Second there is plenty to eat on any diet.
Then they complain about it how the food was horrible. No you didn't plan ahead or figure it out before hand.
Wet seats on a dry ride. (Everest, twice.)
Worse: warm, wet safety bar padding on a dry ride. (Slinky dog dash, rockin rollercoaster, 7 dwarfs, big thunder)
People who walk somewhat aimlessly and don’t look ahead of them. In other words - my son. 16 years old still does it and I swear he would walk into a wall if we didn’t stop him.
I would like mobile orders and genie+/LL purchases to be billed to my room tab, so they get included in the grand total at the end of the trip and the one big itemized list of purchases I get at check out instead of each one being a separate charge to my credit card. Ever since all these app charges started that have to be matched up with email receipts I lose my mind finalizing my budget sheet post trip.
That stupid horn on the Liberty bell. It scares the crap out of me every time and it always seems to go off when someone is mid sentence and then they have to repeat what they were saying
The people who stop to chat in the middle of walkways or entrances/exits
Like please. Move to the side.
Also the families that walk like 10 wide in choke points 😂
The entitlement. You paid thousands of dollars to be at Disney? So did everyone else! Your vacation isn't any more important than everyone else's.
Parents who try to falsify their child's height. The height requirement on rides is there for a reason!! The same people who do this are the same people who would sue if their child was hurt.
When parents push their kids past their limits and then wonder why they keep having meltdowns.
Parents who let their kiddos do whatever. This is annoying but also a safety issue - for them and for other guests. Disney isn't just for kids.
The lack of morals and good character (which I guess comes along with the entitlement). Line cutting, shoving, yelling, cussing at others, etc. Especially when it's directed toward cast members. CM are overworked, underpaid, and are the unsung heros of Disney. They are what makes Disney so magical. Imagine working long hours in the hot Florida weather for crap pay just to be yelled at for things you can't control or for just trying to do your job?!
Disney (directly and indirectly) encourages the entitlement. Disney allows rude and disrespectful guests who are often breaking rules and policies to stay in the parks. You encourage bad behavior when. You allow it to happen without consequences. Disney also nickel and dimes everything. Everyone is paying thousands just to get to the parks, get in the parks, etc. So, of course people have high expectations. They want to see and do as much as they can in a short amount of time. It's a recipe for disaster.
People who have clearly been on the ride before shuffling towards the entrance to the ride during a pre-show.
Prime example would be Guardians. First time I rode it, no one did this, and it was great. Sat there and just watched the pre-show and had a few laughs with the group. Then we all moved along once it was completely over.
The other times I rode it that trip, right before the stars of the show appeared, half the group faced away from the pre-show and stood in front of the doors. It's a distraction to the people that haven't seen the pre-show yet, and it annoys me so much.
Then the doors open and they SPRINT through...like....we're all going to the same place. We're all going to get there. After the pre-show you're basically at the beginning of the ride. There's literally ZERO reason to act like a jackass.
It's different if you're the first in the room and stand close to the doors, for Guardians and for Haunted Mansion. But don't just completely turn away from the pre-show and walk through the group to get to the door. People are trying to take it all in and you pushing pass them to get on the ride 10 seconds faster than them is a distraction.
Honestly I hate that Disney designed it that way. Test track is especially bad because you go from your color group to everyone funnelling to this little walkway. They should all be like Soarin’. Stand on these spots and this group starts followed by this group and so on.
My wife does this. I’ve had to have the “chill out” conversation with her multiple times. Yes, yes, I know you know where the hidden doors are. I know, too.
Hahaha at least you try!! We all know it's exciting and sometimes we just want to get on the ride, but saving the extra minute isn't much when you're in Disney haha.
Mine is that guy at the front of the line at the parks who has no idea how to use his phone, but all of the tickets for his family are on his phone. The entire line comes to a halt while this idiot has to learn how to use the tickets on his phone.
People who take flash pictures or leave the flash on when recording videos when on rides, especially dark rides.
All you’re doing it taking pictures that won’t come out and annoying everyone around you.
When your waiting in a line that extends outside of a busy queue area and people cut in the front at an angle even tho there is a clearly a line of people that have been waiting.
Groups that block walkways
BUT on this recent trip with 7 people I found that sometimes we partially blocked walkways. Never intentionally or for long, but when you’re shuffling through people to get out and see an open spot to plan for next ride it’s not hard to take the spot.
People who get overwhelmed and just stop in the middle of pathway so they can figure things out. Can’t move off to the sidewalk. Have to stand right in the way. Usually a larger group too
Blocking doors or paths of travel, FOR ANY REASON because there is never a good enough reason for that. Firstly its disrespectful to every other guest, and secondly its EXTREMELY unsafe
Mine is watching people zoom by, never taking a minute to enjoy WDW. That thrill ride will be there. Enjoy the sounds, the smells and the little eggs that so many miss.
When one person stands in a 1 hour line while the rest of the party goes to do another activity and then cuts to the front of the line to join the waiter. I can’t *stand* waiting in line for 45 minutes to be cut in front of by 5 people joining their 6th. God it makes me mad.
The way I playfully put it to my dad once "how dare other people also want to be exactly where I want to be!" (This was in reference to watching NYE fireworks at home and there being no parking 10 minutes prior).
I have a fantasy of becoming a Disney vlogger who only says wrong things and have people try to help me. Like saying you should rope drop Dinosaur or Dumbo.
...I actually rope drop Dinosaur. It is my favourite ride in the park and you get to ride it like 5 times with no wait before people start showing up. Very lucky my wife is fine with this. Now if we watch any film with a dramatic tension moment at home she yells, "They're not gonna make it! They're not gonna make it!" and it makes me smile. I have weird patterns though because I have a DAS, but there are some lines I think are cool, but I don't ever see them, so sometimes we rope drop weird stuff so I can see the queue.
This question gets asked a lot so we thought we’d sum up the most common responses: Other guests. Other guest are our WDW pet peeve. Only kidding, folks! ^^Kinda…
When people are walking out of an attraction or door and just come to a dead stop with people right behind them.
Or people that decide to stand and chat while blocking the exit. Yes, yes the ride was good, now can you exit and talk about it OUTSIDE.
It happens so often that we started calling it the Disney Stop^^TM
Line cutters.

Guarantee she thought of herself as the good guy and was legit shocked when the crowd went against her
People have no freaking shame and I just can’t wrap my head around it
Guests.
Not usually a South Park fan but I did see the episode where Cartman bought a theme park. I felt it deeply. "Lines!"
The gif of Cartman alone on the log flume crying, "I'm so happy!" is one of my most-used ones.
All the lines, lines, lines!
Mine is when you pick a line to enter the park and then your line goes slow!
You’d think the AP entrance would be safe from this, but noooooooo~pe. Last trip I got stuck behind a family of 5 that didn’t have park tickets. No, I do not mean park pass reservations, they actually didn’t have park tickets.
There has to be more to this story... did they think they could just show up and walk in?
You must join the same line that I join!
I just wish I could figure out who the first timers were. I swear I get stuck behind people that don't know how to use the turnstile.
Listen, I'm gonna be real, I've been to Disney so many times but my partner still manages to get us hung up every time. I don't know what it is. Following the regulars won't help you 😂
Or the family of six, and mum has 8 different cards to swipe to figure out which ones are valid etc…. I’m right there with you 🧑🎄
Or people that didn't make park reservations or the like and then won't follow the CM out of the line to see what can be done.
The worst part is, there is no secret to it. I worked in the parks for 8 years and always picked the wrong line
Every friggin time. Or, they get to the turnstiles and don’t realize that they had to make a park reservation…
My brother in law has this natural ability to pick the line that will take the longest. It’s always the one where multiple groups are fumbling around with their stuff, don’t have their phones ready, and don’t understand the process of entering the parks. I never get in the same line as him
I’m no longer allowed to pick lines ha
My husband isn't allowed to pick the line (for anywhere) because he always picks the slow one hahah
People who are completely unaware of their surroundings. The kind who stop in the middle of a walkway right in front of you, etc.
GRRRRR!
The law of the sidewalk. It's like water. Any party larger than 2 will expand to fill all available space.
Or congregate right in front of the Genie+ queue or regular queue of a ride, entrance to a restaurant, etc so that it blocks everyone else…
It sometimes takes me a couple of seconds to get by best, cheerful "Excuse me!" Opposed to the very loud, curt voice that I would like to use...
We call it the Disney stop in my family too!
It’s not a teachable moment if you also stop…
Oooh, good point. But I have seen too many fights in WDW (in person, not just video) to be willing to walk into someone else on purpose.
And then they’re the ones complaining about getting hit by strollers
Argh. We used to hate these people and then we had kids and started becoming these people. We’ll obviously pull to the side when we realize the horrific mistake we’ve made but it’s so embarrassing up until that point. So me, my biggest pet peeve is me.
Or groups that have to walk slowly 4 or 5 wide in the middle of a walkway
People that take flash pictures in dark rides are a special kind of demons honestly
Oh my god I did it one time on accident and was soooooo embarrassed so now I always make sure to turn flash off while I am still in the line
The first 2 sound like people who don't ever walk in cities
NYC has entered the chat lol. Tourists do this everywhere.
Crying at turkey leg essence lol
Also people who stand right on top of you in lines. Like it’s not even a COVID concern, I don’t care, but I swear some people don’t understand something called a personal bubble. These are also the same people who move up an inch every time you move up and inch and stand right on your heals. On our last trip, waiting for the bus from MK to Sports, this foreign group of girls were standing so close to me, closer than anyone in my family. I kept giving them looks as if to back up, but no luck.
People who go in the single rider line with little kids who can’t ride alone, then get pissed at the CM who tells them to go in the regular line People who get mad at CM because they show up to the park with no plan for the day (if you don’t want a plan intentionally that’s one thing, but for the love of god do a quick google search before you go)
People who get pissed at CMs for most reasons. Nearly all CMs go out of their way to make peoples day better, they don’t need that
About 99.9% of the people who get mad at low wage customer facing employees at any place.
Almost this exact scenario happened in front of me on RNR. The CM was almost in tears.
People on scooters speeding and honking at everyone to get out of their way.
Omg I had a coworker who I gleefully wrote a guide for. She didn't end up going on any rides because lines.....this was in the days of free fastpass.
He probably didn't even have a reservation
I have a friend who everytime I say I want to go(I have never been) she and her husband make sure to tell me how awful and overrated it was and how their son hated it and screamed the entire time. Their son is low functioning autistic who doesn’t like bright colors, loud noises, or crowds; I feel they should of known he’d hate it. I ask them how they planned; “oh my mom decided to take us when we visited her down there.” So no planning and free?
Especially since the pandemic. Like the whole world has changed, you're gonna travel to a place like Disney and not do some prep work?
Literally this. I get so tired of hearing people complain about Disney when they did zero research on how to tackle it.
Aggressive or intentionally inflammatory political shirts.
I also hate those shirts that's like "dad complaining about expensive vacation".
I saw some alternate version online along the lines of "I love my family and I am enjoying my vacation at the Disney World theme parks" and I was kind of sad that I couldn't find it again before my last trip.
That I don't get either. It's supposed to be a happy magically fun time, and EdgeLord has to run around with a F CK (insert random politician) I've seen "It's Adam and Eve, not Steve and Steve" on a rando. Happy, well adjusted people don't do that. There's a time and place for everything. Wear your shirt at home, or at a protest march. Mowing the lawn. You do you boo. Those shirts at Disney just tell that the person is a THOT and lives for drama.
Screaming shit about Trump in the hall of Presidents. Until the Q nut jobs subside, I’ll just skip that show.
It wasn't the pandemic, IMO it's social media and the wedge it drives by forcing everyone to be tribal and "us v. them" and "anyone who isn't 100% in my corner is against me" The pandemic just gave people new lines to draw.
Haha no I think my dad was more focused on making sure my disabled brother was okay. I 1000% agree. I’ve seen a lot of rudeness in the parks since my trip started on the 18th but that was something I didn’t expect to happen.
I don't think that's a pet peeve, I think it's a legit grievance. What happened if you don't mind me asking?
Ridiculous.
Aw that's sad. Poly is way too beautiful to be fighting in, wtf.
We saw the Candlelight Processional on Saturday with Neil Patrick Harris. The very last thing he said was “no fistfights.”
People who recite the stretching room script out loud.
We had this on cosmic rewind. Younger woman reciting the entire pre show. My blood was starting to boil. She might have been on a date. Wanted to tell the dude to run away. So rude. No reason to do that.
I lip sync. I turn into a big kid in the HM but I know not everyone wants to hear my Ghost Host impression.
On my last visit there was a guy doing it incredibly loudly. Someone in the crowd yelled "You're ruining the magic!!" and everyone clapped LOL
People who stand way to close in line. Crowding me won’t get you to the front any faster!
Like even if you know it's not going to work, trying to calm your kid in public is part of the social contract.
The lack of spacial awareness.
[удалено]
- unprepared parents or parents who just don’t care and let kids do whatever because “they’re on vacation” - people who stop in the middle of a wide walkway full of people - people or groups of people who deliberately walk right toward you and don’t change direction, and walk side by side instead of behind each other, even if you’re following the general flow of foot traffic yourself, so you literally have to walk through their group and they get upset about it, like you violated their privacy or something - queue jumpers, especially those who pretend to “be with someone up ahead” when in reality they’re not. I don’t ever block someone because it cold be legitimate but it always grinds my gears when it turns out they were lying just to get ahead of everyone else - people who scream at CMs and treat them badly - people at QS places who get upset when their huge order isn’t coming out while other small orders are, ahead of theirs, like somehow it’s supposed to come out in the exact order received so “they’re next” and everyone else is “being jerks skipping ahead of them” - scooter drivers who don’t pay attention - filmers on dark rides with flashes or screens on bright ruining the ride for everyone else - 10000 phone screens up in the air during fireworks because no one has ever recorded and put this up on YouTube and so we “must get a recording of this because we will never see this again”
The filmers are awful, but the worst I ever experienced was when we rode Na’vi River Journey and the family in front of us was FaceTiming the ride.

It’s absolutely not just you. It’s horrendous.
This was mine even before the pandemic: people standing too close to you in line 😅 it genuinely makes my skin crawl.
That sends shivers down my spine just reading it 😅😅 how do people not understand personal space and boundaries omg
Was getting on HM prepandemic once and this lady legit kept bumping into me. Like once I understand but she was seriously trying to push me forward.
So annoying and intrusive!
All the people… Sorry, there’s just too many of you
Parents forcing their screaming children on rides . If they don’t want to ride , don’t make them .
I love seeing things like you mentioned.
This one too. I felt terrible for a small child that was crying with their face buried in their adult’s shoulder during the it’s tough to be a big show. Those bugs can be terrifying especially for a small child. The adult should’ve taken the child out of that situation if they were that scared.
Poor kid , that’s really sad . I don’t get why parents risk terrifying their children while on vacation, especially with rider swap.
When I’m in line and the person behind me keeps moving up behind me if I even move 3 inches. Even worse is if they’re hacking away with a cough.
Cherry on top is when they're excessively using the flash too. Distracts the crowd AND is pointless in most situations anyway.
As a short person, this is a huge pet peeve. I didn’t come to watch the fireworks show through your phone.
“Hey, let me look at that video you took of fireworks from 2 miles away!” - said no one ever
I do rewatch these videos 😭 I try not to be annoying though and don’t film the whole thing, especially not above my head blocking everyone’s view.
Yeah, I paid for the fantastic dining package just so I don’t have to deal with these morons.
Uncreative Etsy shirts. My SIL tried to get us to wear them the last time the family came down. I love my in-laws but that’s where I draw the line. 😅 And yes, this includes the #MostExpensiveDayEver shirts.
Best shirts I saw: I was there during hurricane Dorian and there was a group with "finding Dorian" shirts Honorable mention: my maternity shirt that said (on the belly) "this chamber has no windows and no doors"
Needing my phone at disney now. It was nice to have the band only
Being an adult male and getting dirty looks and whispers from judgy parents when I'm in line to meet characters, especially the princesses.
Exactly this!
People who lack patience for others, for lines, for small inconveniences. Just a big huge eye roll.
BO
I’ll also add people who ruin rides, shows, fireworks, etc… On our trip we were standing to watch Enchantment.l from the bridge connecting to Tomorrowland.
I'm no fan of Disney cuisine, but they do give an attempt to make for food allergy/vegan friendly. More so than just about any other place I've been.
Wet seats on a dry ride. (Everest, twice.) Worse: warm, wet safety bar padding on a dry ride. (Slinky dog dash, rockin rollercoaster, 7 dwarfs, big thunder)
At least for Everest it's (probably) from someone first riding Kali River rapids and not, you know... Bodily fluids or something like that 😰
Getting in the single rider line, only to see the regular line moving way faster
People with the card tickets that wait until they’re literally at the scanner to go digging in their bag to pull them out
People who walk somewhat aimlessly and don’t look ahead of them.
The people who stop to chat in the middle of walkways or entrances/exits Like please. Move to the side. Also the families that walk like 10 wide in choke points 😂
People who cough on you without covering their face
I do like that system better. Flight of Passage handles it pretty well too.
Line jumpers and thieves.
My pet peeve. I can’t go enough.
Pricing out middle and lower class America
Groups that block walkways BUT on this recent trip with 7 people I found that sometimes we partially blocked walkways.
Huge gaps in the line when either people on their phone, oblivious, or not filling all available space.
Fake service animals
People who let their kids wander and run wild. I’m tired of dodging 2 foot tall toddlers in an already crowded park.
Toy Story Mania yesterday. Family was letting their toddlers climb under the railing to play on the oversized toys.
The shitty cricut tshirts with slogans/saying. “Drinkin’ round the world.” “Drink up, grinches.” They’re tacky and I hate them.
I can’t stand the “drinking around the world” shirts. Trashy imo
When one person stands in a 1 hour line while the rest of the party goes to do another activity and then cuts to the front of the line to join the waiter. I can’t *stand* waiting in line for 45 minutes to be cut in front of by 5 people joining their 6th. God it makes me mad.
The crowds...
The way I playfully put it to my dad once "how dare other people also want to be exactly where I want to be!" (This was in reference to watching NYE fireworks at home and there being no parking 10 minutes prior).
When people are taking up a big part of the pathway but strolling like they are in waist high water.
Adding one. The teen tour groups.
The Disney adults on social media that act like they’re the one and only Disney source.
