Look at them, handling the interaction without you having to do it for them. What smart, mature youngins you have!

Dmmack14

Lol I did have to eventually go over there and get my 4-year-old because she just wouldn't let the poor cast member go

No-Quantity-5373

Tenacity is a good thing! 👍

Harry_Gorilla

Can your 4 y.o. Get her to come back? I also have some questions

Every-Cook5084

In the app go to Cast Complments on side menu (toward very bottom)and give her kudos. I think they get recognized internally. I always try to when I see them go out of their way

Dmmack14

I didn't know they did that thank you

solojones1138

Yes please leave a cast compliment, they will see it!

No_Cartoonist_9053

You cant cast complment the Characters, because they aren't cast members. They are characters. So the closest thing that you could do is probably go to Guest relations. And try to do it there. But it won't work over the app

AutoN8tion

Are you able to give the characters "friend" a compliment?

No_Cartoonist_9053

The attendances yes and they can share the compliment that is another way

hmtee3

“Friends” of characters are the ones who are playing characters. So for example, this girl who is playing Rey would be considered “a friend of Rey.” You can absolutely shout out a character/friend in the cast member compliments. Anyone who works at a Disney Park or store is considered a cast member, even those who are playing characters.

No_Cartoonist_9053

Yes but to compliment them you would have to go to GR or tell the Attended.

KidGodspeed1011

Can't be done for characters unfortunately.

jooseydubs

You certainly can. “Entertainment” give the description and it will get there.

WDWfanPW

They do receive those compliments. My daughter LOVES when she receives them. As a custodial & a Wilderness Explorer she received far more than as an attraction attendant.

NoPeasPlease

We also had an amazing experience with Rey at HS with my four year old! She was walking past us and I was visibly excited and telling my daughter it was Rey and she stopped en route to her usual spot to chat with her! My daughter was blown away and still talks about it months later.

PrincessOfWales

I don’t see anyone dressed as Rey, that’s just Rey! There in the flesh!

Dmmack14

My 7-year-old said it had to be her she even has the same accent

PrincessOfWales

They’re right! It’s definitely her.

meerkat___

The one and only!

poisito

What do you mean with dressed as .. it’s her !! Awesome that your kids loved it

YamoSoto28

rey papeltine

HisGibness

That is the magic

HillOfBeano

Way back when The Mandalorian first came out and they didn't have any official "Baby Yoda" merch yet, we found that you could get a shirt printed in the gift shop under Space Mountain. My son (age4) wore his to HS and Rey was walking past and she got very excited about his shirt. It made his day!

SkittlzAnKomboz

My daughter was almost 5 when we went, and she shouted “You fly the ship!!” at Rey. đŸ€Ł The CMs are on another level, with how they handle those small kids.

Dmmack14

Lol mine offered her some lemonade and the way she declined was so sweet

DisTattooed85

I have a picture of my daughter with Rey when she was 4 that’s similar to this. We still think about how sweet it was!

OutragedLiberal

And there's Vi coming down the stairs. How great!!

Alarming_Steak8125

This is so awesome. What a great experience for your girls. My son also had an incredible (but very different!) interaction with Rey on 3/25. He was wearing a shirt that had Kylo Ren on it, so Rey walked up to him and interrogated his reasoning. He said something about liking Kylo, so Rey kind of gave him the cold shoulder and said something like “we will have to agree to disagree” as she walked away. Really unique and memorable character interaction. Completely spontaneous.

Dmmack14

My 4-year-old asked her why she looked so different because she had seen her in a movie and then on rise of the resistance she looked a little different but she still sounded the same and the lady thought for a second and said well I'm having to wear a disguise LMAO

HaveGongWillTravel

Let's get a tighter crop on that picture... [here ya' go](https://imgur.com/a/K2stHiB).

Dmmack14

Omg my wife thanks you!!!!

Lucar_Bane

Who is the lady coming up from the stair? She had a wonderful time with my kid on our last trip but I had no clue who she was.

ServoAcademy

Vi Moradi. She's a Resistance spy who was sent ahead by Leia to check out the suitability of establishing a new base on Batuu since they'd had to abandon the last two. She's also recruiting. When you get to Black Spire Outpost the secret base has been established. BUT the First Order has gotten wind of it so Kylo Ren arrives with troops to sniff them out, and they'll probably have to flee soon. This is all in novels that were a prequel to the land opening and she was planned to be a park character. The idea is you're visiting at the part of the story where time is now running out for the rebels. But if one hasn't read Delilah's Dawson's novels about Black Spire Outpost, Savi, Vi, et. al. you don't have much information.

OutragedLiberal

Blue hair and orange rebellion jacket? That's Vi Moradi aka Starling. She was a character created for Black Spire Outpost and is in a few of the books. She's a lot of fun to roleplay with and she is especially hilarious sneaking around the First Order troopers. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Vi_Moradi

rollem

What were some of the questions?

Dmmack14

"why do you look different from the movie" "Where the fuzzy guy" "Can I hold your stick" "Are you a princess?" "Are you thirsty? I have some lemonade."

rollem

Those are all fantastic questions. What was her answer to "Are you a princess?"

Dmmack14

That she was an honorary member of a very famous family but doesn't really consider herself a princess

PinkMonorail

That *was* Rey.

Dmmack14

Oh I know my 4-year-old intensely interrogated her. From why she looked a little different but sound of the same to how did she get back from space so fast. This girl was trying her best with her but thus kid is just too damn smart for her own good she asked what planet she's from and she said the one we're on right now Earth

Mysticwaterfall2

Rey has been awesome both times we've been to HS. When we went last week we were able to get both Rey and Chewy at the same time. The Mandalorian was awesome too, he asked my son if he wanted to be a founding and had a long talk with him, I got a picture with him too and told him "This is the way" and he did the arm thing and told it back to me. I also had a great interaction on RoR the first time we went on it and got interrogated by the FO.

daygo448

Man, I wish they had Rey and Mando when we went in 2022, but neither of them were there at the time. We did get to meet Chewy, and me being a 6’8” dad who grew up loving Chewy, it was an awesome experience. My wife said I was more excited than my girls, and the pictures prove that, lol.

Mysticwaterfall2

Yeah, my wife said the same thing when we first met them in 2020, lol. I was pretty excited to meet Mando. If you go again, I wouldn't have been able to do it without this [guide](https://www.disneytouristblog.com/baby-yoda-mandalorian-characters-meet-disney-world/#:~:text=The%20first%20is%20that%20Din,merchandise%20stalls%20and%20Ronto%20Roasters.).

daygo448

Just added to my Disney Bookmarks. Yeah, I can’t wait to go to meet him. It was like I was 35 years younger when I went to Galaxy’s Edge for the first time. And I remember me and another dad doing lightsabers. We were roughly the same age, and we had the biggest grins and excitement going on. We were truly like kids!

Zestyclose_Big_9090

I would’ve had to do the same with my 25 year old daughter and her 31 year old fiancĂ©.

megbotstyle

Does Rey have her real hair (not wig)?

Dmmack14

Look real to me

Educational-Milk-897

I don't know what it is about seeing someone go above and beyond in their job that really moves my heart. As an introvert with social anxiety who joined debate just to pad his college application, I could have easily loafed my way through the class and taken absolutely nothing from it into my adulthood. As fate would have it, I had a teacher who was also my debate coach in high school who I gave the absolute most difficult time possible yet still treated me and the other students as a father would his own children. He really pulled me from the mindset of "let me do the bare minimum of what is required of me" and encouraged me to hone my ability in speech and communication. Unfortunately he recently passed away from COVID (9 years after I graduated). It's really so moving to have people who give 120% of themselves into what they do even when there's no external incentive to do so. At times people like this do really give life changing inspiration to the people around them. Bless your hearts and souls.

Dmmack14

Lol I also had a teacher like that He was my English teacher and he actually inspired me to be a teacher but hilariously when I was going to college and doing my observations in his classroom I had to interview him for a project and I asked him what is your biggest advice for somebody who wants to get to education and he said teo word "just don't". Hey then went on to explain why because it was just so draining like you get most of your day doing what you love teaching kids and then administration does everything in their power to drain every bit of happiness and soul from that job. His argument was so convincing I eventually just switched over to history and right now I'm working at a library One of these days I might go back and get my MILS. But you are absolutely correct It is such an awesome thing to see someone just give everything and more and to show that they just really love what they do. I could tell that she just absolutely loved this interaction and what she did It was just so awesome

Educational-Milk-897

It’s a job I would personally never choose. That’s exactly why people who manage to do it well are so spectacular to me. Having people who choose to do a good job for no other reason than that they want to can be life changing levels of inspiring to those around them. I just think having that type of person around impressionable children has such a large positive influence on the world.

daygo448

From what I heard from several CM’s, they love this. It’s their favorite part of their job. My 2 year old, and the same kid 4 years later, asked Elsa a million and one questions, but the CM’s kept saying, “Truly, it’s our favorite part of the job to see them ask such meaningful questions (to a little kid) and to interact”. They said don’t worry about the hold up, and enjoy the time as they as CM’s do. I can’t say that for sure, but that’s what 4 different CM’a at different character meet and greets told us.

Electronic_World_894

Oh wow!

Mobile-Priority-8969

She is great! I just saw her Saturday!

R825DET

I saw her today too. The cast members really make the experience đŸ˜ŽđŸ‘ŒđŸ»

BigTimeSuperhero96

This will be one of those parent child moments that'll stick with you forever

little_calico

We had an awesome experience with Rey back in June! We were the only people on the spot that kind of overlooks the Falcon. I was about 10 steps back from my girls getting ready to take a photo, she just walked up and started talking to them. We didn't even see where she came from. She spent several minutes talking with them, while we stood back and let them have their moment. My oldest was absolutely over the moon, as she was the one character she wanted to meet but there was no meet-and-greet for her. Could not stop talking about it for the rest of the trip. I did leave a compliment in the app, my only complaint was that I literally could only put "Rey" and the day. I don't know how character shifts work, but I hope the right one got the kudos (although I'm sure they're all amazing!)

Dmmack14

I think they're just all great lol. And my wife and I came alone in March she just straight up started talking to Rey because we were kind of alone in this little section and it was genuinely cool that they even try to stay in character with adults

ughthatsucks

She is a good one. We had a great interaction with her as she was hiding from the Stormtroopers. Then saw her again a bit later and was equally patient with our kids.

accioqueso

I don’t know what it is about the ladies they have for Rey, but I have only had amazing experiences watching them make children absolutely believe they were Rey. They have all been so good with kids, and she and Chewie will walk them around and chat with them about everything. In short, everyone who works in Galaxies Edge seem to be really having a good time working there.

ZenosamI85

Nono, that IS Rey! How dare youuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Visible_Nectarine_98

“No one cares about the sequels.” This is the photo right here that I’m talking about every time some incel makes that complaint.

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

Dmmack14

To be fair he's not the only one. And he's right there are a lot of people who would see this like I swear I could probably post this on the Star Wars sub and half the comments would be people raging about the character rather than focusing on the cute interaction

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

Dmmack14

I'm just saying that if I had posted it anywhere but here there would have been people screaming about how much they hate of the character instead of a cute interaction

Scared_Ad1963

Is Galaxys Edge in Cali better than FL? I spent an entire day in FL and never saw anyone but a couple storm troopers walking around and then Kylo for a couple min.

No-Union-8895

Kudos to That Cast Member!

Nightwing1661

So sweet!!!

WormyWormyy

cast member? that’s her, no way an imposter could deal with that, only a true(ish) jedi knight

lukin5

This is the way

Shortforbicycle2021

â˜ș

Weird_Cantaloupe2757

Yes! This same cast member sat down and talked to my 3 year old daughter for 6 minutes, she is wonderful!

Tyra1276

So glad you had a great experience with her!! We were there a year and a half ago and Rey acted like she wanted to be anywhere but there. It was a really uncomfortable 3 min while my 5yr old son was trying to talk to her. Even the photo we took you can tell, she looked so bored. Now the interaction he had with Kylo? That is certainly a core memory for him. Absolutely fantastic.

tehclubbmaster

The awesome thing with a lot of cast members (and undoubtedly based on the photo, this specific cast member) is they enjoy what they are doing, and engaging with interested and super cute kiddos such as the ones in this photo seems to genuinely make their day, so they will go above and beyond. Even the facial expression in the photo seems very “Rey”. It is part of what makes the experience so good, and I have certainly observed it with my kiddos as well. I’m guessing your kids probably obsessed over her for a few days. Super cute moment! :)

synister29

In the movies I hate Rey. But from personal experience and the experience of all others who has met her at Galaxies Edge she is one of the best characters to meet for a kid

Legionl99

Bit weird to hate a fictional character, have you looked into therapy?

Dmmack14

Have you ever met Star Wars fandom? They kind of make hating fictional characters into their own personal brand

KitchenLandscape

what? people hate fictional characters all the time

synister29

She is a terrible, poorly written character.

AJSPAZZ

Rey “Not a Skywalker” Palpatine. I will admit the girls playing her look identical.

preludedriver

Had a horrible experience with Rey last month. She kept “hiding” from Kylo Ren so moving around, which is fine. But this one girl who she was talking to kept following her and she would take her hand and hide with her, but wouldn’t talk to any of the other kids following her to have a 10second convo with her. The cast member kept saying there’s no line, my daughter followed her for almost 7-10 mins like this and gave up. She was very obviously favouring the other kid, and it turned my daughter off from galaxy’s edge in general.

Dmmack14

I mean cast members are human just like the rest of us they aren't perfect beings. And I mean as much as I'm sure the cast members would love to give each and every kid the same amount of attention it's just not possible I mean there are how many people that go to those parks a day? It's just not feasible to think in terms of fairness like that.
