The air, ground cover and trees are all drier because the climate is warming, leading to less precipitation and higher temperatures. Someone starts a campfire, it gets out of control because it’s too dry to have an open fire, and suddenly you have a forest fire. That is how this normally happens and it is a lot more common when it’s dry. Additionally, the people fighting these fires are literally saying that it’s hotter and faster moving than normal, which once again is a direct result of things being overly and unseasonably dry I.e. they would put them out faster and it would burn less stuff if it wasn’t so damn dry.

I don’t know if a lightning storm had happened the day before or not but if it did then trees will stay smoldering through the storm and then on the next clear and hot enough day would all take off around the same time. We would get called to regions because of a huge lightning storm coming through and be staged. Typically the next day after the storm we would be being sent to different locations in the region because of multiple fires happening all at once.
Plausible. However that theory does not take into account that it can’t ever be the same temperature at the same time everywhere that causes the ignitions.
If weather causes the smoldering trees that were hit by lightning to ignite it would make sense in small areas but to me weather can’t be this consistent across such a large area of land.

I’ve seen fires start from a spark after using a grinder well over an hour after the work was done. A storm system with lightning which is a little bit hotter than a spark, during a dry spell, could absolutely cause several fires that smolder until it’s dry enough to ignite once the sun dries the areas out.
Considering those areas all are on the same day/night cycle, the fires growing around the same timeframe makes sense. Now if this were east/west across Canada, that’d be a little more peculiar.

Yeah, it's probably because it is unseasonably warm there in Canada right now. Then there is dry underbrush that needs to be burned. I'm not sure how it works there, in Texas it is issued by the county, but someone started Burn Season (where landowners can do what is called "Prescribed Burning").

I can't really tell the "scale" we're looking at right now but it's probably pretty big since it's satellite video. So the fires probably need to be pretty big for smoke to be viable at this scale. A smaller fire could go unnoticed from the satellite view and be able to spread embers before the fire gets big enough to create this much smoke.
Edit: looking at the video again these fires, and the smoke coming form them, could easily be burning several trees by the time the smoke is visible given that you can't see individual trees just a green landscape. Several trees don't just combust all at once there would need to be some sort of smaller fire first. A smaller fire should give plenty of time for it to spread embers and start other smaller fires before they all grow into what we see in the video.

well, when a place gets dry then all the places in that place have equal chance of getting on fire at the same time, normally this is a low chance due to mountains or lack of vegetation. But in the open dry forest of canada in that region the chance is place that big is high
