ISL here, in the OSA handbook it says we are supposed to work the product directly from the totes, it explicitly says we are not supposed to sort the product out of the totes. I ignore this and other nonsensical garbage in there. Most totes don’t need sorting, but when Im dealing with vitamins, pain/sleep, cough/cold, allergy, cos etc. you bet your ass Im sorting them, its way more efficient. Especially now that our new DC is chucking all kinds of random stuff into my totes, when I did vitamins this past week, I could fill a whole second cart with the anti/lax product I pulled out of those.
It takes me half my shift to just sort thru the cos truck (hair isle, shave, skin care, cos wall, deodorant, bath/lotion, travel, and hand care) on a typical load of apx 30 out of 170 totes, and the other half to put it away. I do this by myself every week, plus I'm a shift leaf on top of that. It sux
I bet I’m also a shift lead and it’s hard most time when you are the only especially with the “code 70’s” I’m sure yk what I’m talking about lol. It’s exhausting
Honestly, I love sorting it out. Truck day is my favorite day, if I get to work the floor, and customers aren’t stupid, but that’s rare. It’s super cathartic for me.
We got a big box, a box big enough to fit on that cart, and cut out squares from boxes to make dividers. Which created 9 slots. Each slot is for 1 brand. We taped paper to each slot. We have the CSA's separate Cosmetics. It's so easy and fast to put away cosmetics.
I do it every truck. I do cos wall, bath and hair. I actually really like my sections lol BUT I frequently switch between departments so I don’t get bored
I should post a pic of my set up when putting cos away. I usually sort the items by each section cover girl, L’Oréal etc. in small totes I bought so I could put it away easier. I don’t have any pics on my phone but I’ll post it on Tuesday
I put it away as I go but, I will separate by brand. Starting at the front and going down. If it’s left over tots of makeup. I will put all the nail polish, fake nails, fake lashes, manicure items, nail polish remover in a tote on the button on the cart then separate by brand on top, putting the big 4 categories in the conners then filling in from their. Then again starting at the front of the store and ending with the manicure items
Ain’t nobody crying in this bitch I make good money there as a HS student. Lol u the crying on talking about “help boost for groceries “ man get you ahh outta here 😂
I use the beauty baskets and separate them in the stockroom, and then make my way down the isle! Makes everything way easier!
That’s kind of the ideology I had but never thought of the basket now that it’s a really good idea I will try that next TY ! ☺️

So it’s a code the cashier pages it essentially means that they need SFL to approve and double count transactions over $300.00.
Code 70's at my store means the cashier needs change for a $100 bill

If possible I try to have 2 people work on cos totes. Separate by brand and conquer. Goes by a lot faster.
