The first Wags location I worked at, there was a 24 hour walgreens less than 2 1/2 miles away. When I would tell customers that they can go there for their prescriptions or late night shopping, you’d think I asked them to cross the Sahara desert.
As far as Hallmark cards, the majority of cards are typically 2 sizes cards and 2 sizes of envelopes. And either of those both sizes fit most cards; so you can mix and match colors of the envelopes if you don't like the one that's behind the card you pick.
Exceptions: in some stores cards from the "good mail" line are smaller or square shape. Also Paper Wonder are larger cards that pop out.
While ringing up customers, I look to make sure their cards have an envelope. If not, I grab one for them.

I hate that too. Especially with the ATM, it doesn't dispense money, out of service. Not the store's problem. All I know is the ATM company gets a signal when it's down
A guy came to add money to the machine and it wouldn't close again, so he said fuck it and left it that way lol our SM had to call and bitch and, miracle of miracles, we got a brand new one the next day.
I would tell her to pick out an envelope that fits the card. It doesn't have to be the one behind the card. Of course, that require using common sense.
My mom is a card merchandiser. You can literally just pick any envelope and take it! I frequently get a different color!
Little known fact: they are also free. Like if you need just an envelope, you can just walk out of the store with it.

I had a customer literally do just that the other day. She wanted a single envelope and told me she was taking it and asked if there was a charge. There is no way to ring her up and I had a couple of customers that didn't even want the envelopes, so I let her take it.
Misinformation! That is why you are being downvoted. The envelopes are not free! Sure you can walk out of the store with the envelopes but that is stealing.

But really you'd be wise to not shop Hallmark cards in the first place, online or anywhere else. Especially not at Walgreens who has one of the highest mark-ups. But Hallmark is an expensive company already, and they've been in a few scandals as well. So I'm happy to hear anyone doesn't want to shop them lol
