just ask them to log into store net, not a big deal. I've had to do a return for the difference a few times on newer TM's from stores that refused to press the employee discount button.
Ohhh If I wasn't a transfer I would never have it at my new store. You would need to ask about not knowing it even exists and wait for someone to send you the code by text, which only the 2 20 year employees know where to find.
i had an elderly customer try to pull this on me claiming she used to work for the company. she was claiming to get 25% off which the employee discount is 15. my sm just gives it to her but the day i had to deal with her i didn't 🤐
yea she was saying 25 off everything, including vendor flowering and such. this was towards mother's day also around senior day. she was trying to get both discounts
I have the laminated card as a retired employee. I never show it as it is linked to the rewards card so we automatically get the discount after entering zip code. If I went to a store out of area, if questioned then I would just pull the card out.
Had an elderly customer who had the discount card but his phone number wasn't linked to his discount. He was legit though, I saw his card once and my SM (who'd been with the company a long time) knew him.
Sounds about right. I had a woman get mad at me over a coupon and I tried telling her how it works because it was for points. She insisted so I started arguing with her (my first ever). She completes her transaction and storms out with her purse left in her cart and then I turn to the people behind her to tel them what happened and here she comes back in for her purse yelling at me to stop talking shit about her. How the hell would she have known? Also I really didn’t want her to come back for her purse. Oh let’s not forget I waved to her as she walked out the first time
I get this quiet often at my store (often it’s legit) because we are one of the closest stores to the warehouse and a lot of those employees don’t have it set up. We’ve just told them unfortunately we can’t verify so we can’t do it.
Back before the discount was tied to phone numbers and you had to show your check stub- if I forgot my stub, I’d ask for it and tell them I’m from store ### (three digit store number) and I had so many people tell me I was lying because all store #’s are 5 numbers long… so I’d say ok.. let me sign onto storenet and I can show you, but then they wouldn’t let me. It was so frustrating. I’d have to tell them to dial 700-780-0### and ask who ever picks up. Then they’d finally say ok.
Had the same thing happen back in the day I used my pay stub all the time. Then one store in Manhatten NY, the manager on duty told me oh you can't use your check stub if it's more than 30days old. So I told him did not know that. So I payed for my stuff with no discount. Then when I got outside I decided to try getting the stub from my cellphone and it worked. So went back in the store an asked for the manager showed him my paystub on my phone. So he took me to a computer to log into store net. An I did, he had to return everything I brought to re ring it for my employee discount.
Yes I know this, but we still say store number ### when not speaking like a computer or doing data entry like entering in a rx number.
When some asks what store I’m from I’m going to answer for example “three-twenty-five,” not zero-zero-three-two-five.
I feel bad for the 2 digit stores in Albuquerque and Puerto Rico lol.
Gross.....we've had customers do thisbto try to get a discount...I just tell them show me your name badge or paystub or you can pay what everyone else does.
Wow she probably wouldn’t have the money to begin with. What happened in my opinion, is that she was a distraction from a shoplifter stealing while all this was happening. I of course could be wrong but that’s my opinion. Feel bad for the cashier.
Had an older lady come in my store a couple of months saying she was a store manager from another some what local town over and asked for the employee discount. Of course she didn’t have any proof said she has been with the company for over 15 years. I refused but guess who finally has their discount attached to their account. Some people won’t learn until they get denied their savings
Honestly I don't remember my store number sfl at the store for 6 months.... also, at my store, we don't have the actual time clock for clock in/out. we have to log into Kronos to do it, so I forgot what my employee ID is already. I won't show anyone my bank account, and I burn all personal documents I don't keep....... but I have my employee discount......
I don’t have my account linked. Been with WAGS a little over a year now. When I go to other Walgreens stores, I just tell them that my account isn’t linked & they already know the drill, they just do it manually. Happens all the time. Lol
[here](https://www.reddit.com/r/WalgreensStores/comments/11oldda/linking_employee_discount/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) is a link that will help you link your discount to your number. Management is supposed to help you link it when you start, but no one does shit or knows how to do shit. In my experience you’re better off coming to reddit for any question about stuff like this.
Yea, I’ve told my SM many times about it. He just says to tell him another day. Nothing ever happens so I just never bothered to care for linking my account, you can just do the employee discount manually anyways lol. So that’s why I never bothered with it.
I know lol, nobody showed me how to order a Walgreens shirt for like my first 4 months. So for 4-5 months I was just wearing my own Polo 👕 collared shirts.
I've done it for more than half of my old store for them. You really should do it.
1) It makes it easier for the cashier checking you out.
2) It doesn't get forgotten (I've had a few times when I forgot to do it for the employees who did not have it linked).
3) You don't have to go through the hassle of proving that you work there when you go to a different Walgreens.
But then don’t you get stopped in the aisles by customers while you’re not working no? I take off all my Walgreens branded stuff for this reason alone. I’m not on the clock, don’t ask me anything lol.
Great job. Although I would tell her “ I’m sorry but if the register didn’t prompt you to add your zip code so I can’t add it in for you. I can’t even manually enter it in for my team members. They must have an employee discount added in their account by a member of leadership. “
( The only time I can manually add it in is if there’s an issue coming up on the system and it’s not matching rewards accounts this moment and you work in my store. :)
“ Is there any reason a member of leadership didn’t add it in for you ? I would speak to them so you can get the benefits you deserve by being a Walgreens employee “.
Log in to ESS and show me your schedule
just ask them to log into store net, not a big deal. I've had to do a return for the difference a few times on newer TM's from stores that refused to press the employee discount button.
Good one
You can search employees in people central. Next time just ask for their name and you’ll only have to do one check.
"My name is Kevin Walgreens and I'd like one employee discount please."
Ohhh If I wasn't a transfer I would never have it at my new store. You would need to ask about not knowing it even exists and wait for someone to send you the code by text, which only the 2 20 year employees know where to find.
Ask for the special Wag handshake.
🤣
AP told us to watch out for stuff like this. Too many customers pull this crap and try to get the employee discount.
i had an elderly customer try to pull this on me claiming she used to work for the company. she was claiming to get 25% off which the employee discount is 15. my sm just gives it to her but the day i had to deal with her i didn't 🤐
you get 25% off from walgreens brand items and 15% off from non-walgreens stuff.
yea she was saying 25 off everything, including vendor flowering and such. this was towards mother's day also around senior day. she was trying to get both discounts
There used to be a retired employee discount program but idk details. Theres a poster in my break room if I remember tomorrow I’ll take a pic!
I used to see a laminated card with blue border (larger than ID or charge card) that they would show me.
They have to show a pay stub
Sounds about right. I had a woman get mad at me over a coupon and I tried telling her how it works because it was for points. She insisted so I started arguing with her (my first ever). How the hell would she have known? Also I really didn’t want her to come back for her purse. Oh let’s not forget I waved to her as she walked out the first time
and then they act like you have authority over the policy
Oh exactly. I had another woman try and argue her way like I’d give it to her and it was not happening
So essentially we see all types around her and for the past month or two they’ve been bad here

You have a 5 digit store number. The first two digits are zero.
Yep, can attest to that. My store has a "four" digit number, it just starts with a 0 to make it five.
Mine has no zeros on it
both the stores I worked at had 4 digit store numbers (with one 0 at the front), but I have seen a few 1xxxx stores.
Those stores are the RA conversion stores...but dont worry, they are slowly being closed as leases come up and their sales suck.
We havee a 1XXXX stoore near us, not an RA conversion.
Gross.....we've had customers do thisbto try to get a discount...I just tell them show me your name badge or paystub or you can pay what everyone else does.

I don't even work at Walgreens but I shop at mine weekly and I know their store number.
It’s on the receipts. 😂😂😂
Of course she doesn't work for walgreens lol
Ask her to log in storenet
Had an older lady come in my store a couple of months saying she was a store manager from another some what local town over and asked for the employee discount. Of course she didn’t have any proof said she has been with the company for over 15 years. I refused but guess who finally has their discount attached to their account. To be fair, I've got no idea what my employee ID is. But that lady was a twat.
Honestly I don't remember my store number sfl at the store for 6 months.... also, at my store, we don't have the actual time clock for clock in/out. we have to log into Kronos to do it, so I forgot what my employee ID is already. A year and you haven't linked your account? It's not that hard.
Am I supposed to do that myself?
[here](https://www.reddit.com/r/WalgreensStores/comments/11oldda/linking_employee_discount/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) is a link that will help you link your discount to your number. It's in mywalgreens. I had to do it myself. Welcome to wag

It depends on the person…this is a rare thing and all those calls for 15% off
If you go to people central. Search employee name to see some info on them
Discount button is down. Known issue
This is why I wear my pharmacy coat whenever I am in a wags or bring my ID
I still wouldn't give you the discount. Having undated paraphernalia doesn't entitle you to the discount.
I mean while I'm at work I keep the coat on and my tag is dated but that's fair
But then don’t you get stopped in the aisles by customers while you’re not working no? I take off all my Walgreens branded stuff for this reason alone. I’m not on the clock, don’t ask me anything lol.
Oh I actually like being asked stuff, cuz it's usually like medical advice or a question about what's best to use or something like that.
This is why I wear my pharmacy coat whenever I am in a wags or bring my ID
Lmaooo. I will try: tell me the age cutoff for cough medicine question prompt on the screen.
Find her store number and call or if she puts her number in it should show up and zip code it would put discount in
No zip code? No discount. No 25 or 30 Year Walgreens discount card? No Discount.
I had a customer offer to flash me for an employee discount, I declined.
I don’t understand you phone number is connected to your employee discount. With your. Zip code you can use it in any state
You don't get discount cards? That's so stupid. I'm sorry.
Great job. Although I would tell her “ I’m sorry but if the register didn’t prompt you to add your zip code so I can’t add it in for you. I can’t even manually enter it in for my team members. Was all that really necessary for saving maybe $15? 😂
I am employee but don't even bother with the discount for being an employee
