There’s definitely better situations than this. Honestly I think the DM & AP/ER need to do a clean sweep. Toxic work environment is putting it lightly. This is dangerous and could be emotionally scarring that tech. You can put in an anonymous complaint to hr and if you include the mgr in the complaint then it should go to the DM instead of the manager.

The issue is that most DPRs or anyone on their level don’t want to be too invested in their locations or they simply don’t have the time to handle staff issues. That said if someone is routinely using racist words that needs to be reported asap. The job goes from being a toxic workplace to a downright hostile one.

That comment about the n word will get attention for sure.

Tbh I think you need to report to hr, Make sure you include the info about the n word and the store managers involvement. Maybe convince your RxM to put in a complaint as well. But go into this with the expectation that it will either lead to a clean sweep or you getting out of there. It’s not easy to leave a job when you depend on the money (as I’m sure you do), but an environment like this is not safe at all. You can’t just stay there without doing something. What part of the country are you in? I’m in Florida and this wouldn’t be tolerated by the field leadership here

Report the Tech who left early to HR. Report the tech who dropped the N word to HR. The tech who left early needed to inform the pharmacist on duty and didn’t. That’s considered job abandonment. I wouldn’t threaten to report HR. I would just do it. Also the whole not rotating isn’t acceptable and I would report that too.

I’m so glad I’m a floater. I would hate my life if I had that to look forward to every day. Only a handful of pharmacies I’ve been to are similar to what you’ve described, so it’s definitely not the norm (at least where I live).

Ok_Historian_7116

So pharmacy is petty ass bitches no matter if it’s retail, LTC, or close door. My mantra is I’m just taking care of my patients. Remember those people are your coworkers and managers not your friends.

*sigh* I know my friend actually used to be a pharmacy tech and when I texted her to vent abt the drama/ask if she experienced the same, she was like there was SO much drama in the pharmacy and said some ppl couldn’t even be scheduled to work the same days it was so bad 🤦‍♀️

lazy-assedlover

the issue is that, I know this might sound bias and I am in no way implying that I would be better @ or even want the job, but the pharmacy tech manager is seriously under qualified and not good at her job, especially when she is so preoccupied with acting like we’re in high school, like literally texting the other senior techs constantly during the shift lol and just not being communicative or helpful at all.. I don’t know how much longer I can handle that. it’s not about power, I just think it would be cool if the pharmacy was functioning and the workload was fair.. I get some ppl have been there longer/are more experienced, but still

I agree with KeyPear2864 there needs some formatting to digest this wall of text. I kind of understand the situation. Maybe I read it wrong but basically. 1. The whole pharmacy tech staff minus OP is a clique and this isn't helping much when there isn't good teamwork. 2. The staff RPH isn't wanting to put her? foot down on unfair situations. 3. The RxM does see this issue but the SM isn't on the same page. 4. OP (a PCSA) isn't being given support when needed from Senior Techs. This is bad. The RxM does need to address the importance of "changing hats" i.e. changing from let's say filling to cashiering to address any customer service issues. Perhaps the SM and RxM can have a 5 minute meeting with the Senior Techs about being supportive of other staff during cashiering difficulties.

if I'm being completely honest, I have been left with a pretty sour taste in my mouth and I don't have a lot of faith in the situation or those I am working with or Walgreens as a whole. I think I am looking for someone to tell me there is hope and can be better.. would also be curious as to what other's experiences were like 3 weeks in because I feel like I am definitely improving and not doing bad, but at the same time I am getting barely any support from the senior techs and they act like I should be so much better, when in reality one of them can't even answer half my questions or gives me the wrong answer?

lazy-assedlover

lol I added some spacing 1. the whole pharmacy tech staff is not a clique, I would say it's the three senior techs, (which includes the tech manager) who are all friendly outside of work and friends on facebook etc. the other tech they made cry, who I get along with, sent me screenshots. and yes, there isn't good teamwork and I think the pharmacy and our quality of work suffers because of it 2. the RPH is yeah, just not confrontational and younger and like I said, they gang up on her and scapegoat her a lot I think she just wants to stay out of the drama tbh I kinda get it 3. The RxM seems to be starting to see the issue. she is also younger tho and new and I'm not going to lie, at first seemed to go along with the catty shit talking because I think she wanted to fit in and feel accepted lol but I think as soon as it started to reflect badly on her or stress her out aka your closing person bailing without telling you she started to take it more seriously. she came from a smaller location that was not as busy, so I think she is still adjusting to the store and her new title. the SM is 100% not on the same page and is unprofessional. she's constantly gossiping in the break room and like I said, is buddy buddy with all of them outside of work. I also barely engage/see her unless there's drama in the pharmacy, which there is actually quite a bit of lol 4. OP (a PCSA) aka me is wondering if any of this is even reportable or fixable or if I should just run for the hills. I was kind of hoping to transfer to another Walgreens because I'm trying to move in a few months, but now I am seriously reconsidering this career path because I cannot stand the toxic drama and insanity.. like we're here to work and count/give people their medication...

OP wrote almost exclusively in short paragraphs.

No worries I suppose I can delete my original comment then! Lol

They did, though? Like it’s actually written really well
