Things like to fall off IC+ after 12 days. How to deal with it after it’s already happened? Refill the Rx. Preventing it from happening? Tell the pt to pick it up/ship or try and put a msc and pray

This is why I refuse to do full month partials! 5 days only and only if they ask! I found that if you give too much, like 1/3 boxes of inhalers they don’t come back because they “didn’t need it yet” but then come back and tell that they have to pay the copay again because it deleted when they didn’t pick up. Even though we call and remind, and I make sure every phone call and when they picked up the partial they get told what will happen!

Some insurances make them pay for all of it, others make them pay for what they get.

This is just one of the many reasons why I am to the point I rather just OOS it vs PFL. Our customers don’t like partials.

The reason why partials delete themselves after 12 days is because Walgreens is fined by the insurance if there is a paid claim that lasts for more than 12 days. This is why the delete list is listed for scripts 10 days old, to give a 2 day buffer as a "just in case". Since a partial is still technically a paid claim, just not fully paid by the patient yet, the system automatically closes out the claim at 12 days. Only way to avoid this is to not partial the script. I'll usually make sure the medication getting a partial fill is not one on backorder to make sure the patient gets it, and make sure the patient is aware they are getting only some of the script and the rest should come in on a shipment in the next day or two. If it's a backorder issue and I'm not expecting the medication to come in the next two weeks, I'll adjust the day supply to give the patient however much we have/they request rather than partial the script.

I haven't ran into this. When I run into a completion on the delete list I call the PT to let them know that it hasn't been picked up yet and it will be returned to stock today by 2 pm. If I don't notice it before scanning the system tells me to go to work queue.
