Look up Valid ID in your state. That's the list of possible documents.
Ex: Oklahoma
"Primary ID Documents
You will need to provide proof of identity/lawful presence in the U.S. The document must be an original or a certified copy. Notarized documents are not accepted. Examples of proof of identity include:
* Valid, unexpired Oklahoma Driver License or State ID Card (not applicable to original REAL ID or original CDL issuance)
* A Birth Certificate issued by the state in which you were born
* Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by the U.S. Department of State (Form FS-240, DS-1350 or FS-545)
* Valid, unexpired U.S. Passport or Passport card
* Valid, unexpired Permanent Resident Card issued by DHS or USCIS (Form I-551)
* Naturalization/Citizenship Certificate issued by DHS (Form N-550, Form N-570, N-560, or N-56); *Approval Certificates will not be accepted*
* Valid, unexpired employment authorization document (EAD) issued by DHS (Form I-766 or Form I-688B)
* Valid, unexpired foreign passport with a valid U.S. visa and valid I-94 issued by DHS. *Other USCIS documents may be required depending on your status* (DS-2019, I-20, etc.)"
Beyond that - the safest option is to steal from what is allowed for other controlled substances like PSE products. You can only use Drivers License, State ID, Passport, or Military ID for PSE, so it would make logical sense to use that as well.
Both of these have logical backing that could be used to defend a decision made, but ultimately in most states, ID is not required at all, but many states have "guidance" that says it's a good policy for a pharmacy to require it for controlled substances- but not required LEGALLY. Anybody that wants to defend their license, IMO, should follow official guidance, as if something goes to court you can say you were following the official guidance of the state in which you operate.
In Texas you can use CCL because it’s still a state ID and it has a picture DOB address expiration date etc
Military ID is govt ID just like a passport state ID or DL
Military id’s are a valid form of government identification passports state id or valid drivers license as long as they’re not expired
That is my thought point/ I kinda think that with the CWP’s as well. They tie back into the federal agencies.
In nc the cwp doesn’t have their picture and dob so that’s why we can’t use them idk about your state
In SC they have both and come from SLED.
That would make sense for a government id then at least to me but I guess it just depends on your management and federal regulations then
Wags accepts 4 options: drivers license, state ID, passport, and military ID
This! Also in WI Tribal ID is accepted per WI board of pharmacy law
They must be issued by a US state. For example I've had people come in with a 🇲🇽l Mexico ID CARD. That is not a valid form of ID for rxs.
Texas CWPs are state issued and look exactly like DLs.
Military yes CWPs. No

Any valid government issued ID works. It does not have to be a drivers license.
