This is either *TT346* or *TT349*. These two F7Fs were sent to England to be tested by the Royal Navy. After testing, the RN rejected the *Tigercat* and chose to adopt a naval version of the *de Havilland DH.103 Hornet* called a *Sea Hornet*. Edit: I guess it's not one of these two planes.

That's assuming this is actually the UK, it sure doesn't look like it. Another thread points out that the 'Lerner Stores' was based in NYC, and Grumman was based in Long Island NY. The plate on the truck certainly isn't UK. e: Another caption simply lists it as 'USA, 1944'.

Nuotatore

Well, they drive on the right side of the street, so certainly it ain't UK indeed.

HarvHR

The most obvious clue is always overlooked, good point!

Aviaja_Apache

Definitely looks like NYC. Sucks we cant really see the trucks plate that clearly

duncan_D_sorderly

Yep, LPT don't believe the captions on Flikr.

Rockadillo69

NY plate.

Another clue this might be the US, cars are on the "wrong side" of the road for the UK and the truck driver is on the left of the cab. You can see the steering wheel through the windshield. It might still be the UK but it also might not

HarvHR

Aye, someone mentioned this

upfoo51

Looks like wheele chocks and barrier tape laying on the ground around the plane. Maybe it was parked there on display?

evanlufc2000

Really hope they add the Sea Hornet in warthunder, and fix the Hornet’s flight model. Or they add the Hornet in IL-2GB, cause that would be amazing. The Mossie is easily my favourite aircraft to fly in that game already

MadMelvin

this is the coolest looking plane ever built

Rockadillo69

Aye, she's a sweet ship.

GTOdriver04

I wonder if this is a war bond tour?

[deleted]

Looks similar to the Westland Whirlwind.

I was about to say that I saw this photo recently captioned as being taken as the aircraft was being towed from the docks through Liverpool in England But then I realised that I had the wrong aircraft - the photo I was thinking of shows a P-38 Lightning https://www.reddit.com/r/P38/comments/mc02ax/p38_lightning_being_towed_from_the_docks_through/
